[mount] FAT: codepage cp1252 not found
Hello
When I mount an usb memory (FAT32), accents (special non-english characters) are incorrectly read by the system (bad display when listing files for example). mount uses "cp850" for FAT32. For western european microsoft codepage (cp1252), I try to use :
mount /mnt/cle -o codepage=1252
And I get :
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
And with dmesg | tail :
FAT: codepage cp1252 not found
How to read my FAT32 drives (same problem with a FAT32 Windows disk) ?
Sylvain
Hi,
I've tried a few things, but there is an error which stands out:
# modprobe nls_iso8859-1
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'nls_iso8859_1': Invalid argument
# modprobe --show-depends nls_iso8859-1
insmod /lib/modules/3.16.2-1-ARCH/kernel/fs/nls/nls_iso8859-1.ko.gz
# insmod /lib/modules/3.16.2-1-ARCH/kernel/fs/nls/nls_iso8859-1.ko.gz
insmod: ERROR: could not insert module /lib/modules/3.16.2-1-ARCH/kernel/fs/nls/nls_iso8859-1.ko.gz: Invalid parameters
That doesn't seem right ...

Hi,
Thank you for replying
I have created /u02/crs on both nodes and this folder belongs to user oracle group dba
First i was creating cluster.conf using ocfs2console then propagate this files to node2. After that i load and online the cluster using o2cb command and format /dev/sdc1 using ocfs2console. Then i was trying to mount the /u02/crs for ocfs2, on node 1 the mounting was successfully without any errors but when i was trying to mount on node 2 the errors came out
root@rac2>#mount -t ocfs2 -o datavolume,nointr -L "crsshared" /u02/ocrs
ocfs2_hb_ctl: Bad magic number in inode while reading uuid
mount.ocfs2: Error when attempting to run /sbin/ocfs2_hb_ctl: "Operation not permitted"
any idea of this?
appreciate for your help

Description
Use parameter CODEPAGE to specify the desired target codepage. If this parameter is not set, the codepage of the SAP GUI is used as the target codepage.
Value range
4-digit number of the SAP codepage. The function module SCP_CODEPAGE_BY_EXTERNAL_NAME returns the SAP codepage number for an external character set name, for example, "iso-8859-1". The function module NLS_GET_FRONTEND_CP returns the appropriate non-Unicode frontend codepage for a language.
You can determine the desired codepage interactively, if the parameter with_encoding of method file_save_dialog is set by cl_gui_frontend_services.

I'm trying to configure GRUB2 to load Windows 8 on UEFI system.
os-prober does not detect it.
grub-mkconfig creates only for Linux (tried both with mounted and unmounted Windows partition).
So I went for manual entry.
I executed the following
$ mount /dev/sde1 /boot/efi/
$ grub-probe --target=fs_uuid /boot/efi/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi
69DB-D2EB
# grub-probe --target=hints_string /boot/efi/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi
--hint-bios=hd4,gpt1 --hint-efi=hd4,gpt1 --hint-baremetal=ahci4,gpt1
Created menuentry for /boot/grub/grub.cfg
menuentry "Microsoft Windows 8" {
insmod part_gpt
insmod fat
insmod search_fs_uuid
insmod chain
search --fs-uuid --hint-bios=hd4,gpt1 --hint-efi=hd4,gpt1 --hint-baremetal=ahci4,gpt1 69DB-D2EB
chainloader /EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi
And when I choose it it says
hd0,gpt1error: file /EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi' not found
Note that EFI partition is not mounted is fstab (does it make a difference for GRUB?).
Also, specifying
chainloader /boot/efi/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi
Gives the same not found.
P.S. Windows "fast start" is disabled

I have a Cisco IPS4255 that will not boot an image. I'm seemingly successfully completing a TFTPDNLD each time, but it keeps rebooting with the cannot find image in \ error.

#3- If the TFTP is rerun the entire cycle starts again.The IPS 4255 sensor appliance has only a single 512 MB internal CompactFlash module for storage by-default, so this part of the output you posted is interesting:
hda: TOQHIBA THLCD512MBA, CFA DISK drive
hdb: QalDisi QDAF@-510, ATA DISK drive
ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14

hda: 484848 sectors (248 MB) w/2KiB Cache, CHS=481/16/63
hdb: attached ide-disk driver.
hdb: task_no_data_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdb: task_no_data_intr: error=0x04 { DriveStatusError }
hdb: 484848 sectors (248 MB) w/1KiB Cache, CHS=481/16/63
As it appears that two (2) 256 MB ("248 MB") storage devices are being detected (despite the model of the first even containing "512MB" in its name).
I'd recommend double-checking that there is nothing installed in the "External compact flash device" slot located on the back of the appliance. See here for reference: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ips/7.0/installation/guide/hw_installing_4240_4255.html#wp2726
If there is a CompactFlash module installed there, eject and remove it, then power-cycle the appliance and attempt the re-image ("recovery") process once more. If the boot output still contains the same errors for hda and hdb, then it is probably a failing/failed CompactFlash module, so an RMA will likely be necessary to resolve. -
User's work-files are hosted on a Windows Server 2003 SP2 volume accessed via SMB. She's been opening and saving the files from the server successfully in Dreamweaver for years from other Macs running Dreamweaver CS4.
Now she has an iMac running 10.7.4 and Dreamweaver CS6... and it's not the SMB problem you'd expect.
She mounts the server volume. She opens and saves files normally with full r/w permissions from any app... except Dreamweaver. For any file that she attempts to open in Dreamweaver -- whether from the Finder or from within Dreamweaver -- Dreamweaver pops up an alert reporting that the file at the file-path was not found. The same file is easily accessible from other apps and from the Finder. She continues to have full read/write access to the shared volume.
Local copies of the files do not have the problem. It only affects files hosted on the server and it only happens in Dreamweaver.
So, I create a new user account and everything works fine... The user mounts the sharepoint, opens a file with Dreamweaver... perfectly normal. Then she quits Dreamweaver and relaunches it... everything's fine. Repeatedly. It all works normally. She quits Dreamweaver and unmounts the share, then she mounts the share again and tries to open a file in Dreamweaver again... and it reports that the file was not found.
This is reproducible: If the server volume has been mounted and unmounted repeatedly under any user account, that triggers the error which continues occurring under that user account from that point on. A restart will not fix it. A safe-boot will not fix it. (In fact, restarting seems to trigger the problem by unmounting the volume.)
I tried trashing the entire contents of the ~/Library folder in one of the test-user accounts. It doesn't fix the problem. Once it strikes a user account, the only temporary fix seems to be using a new user account. And that's like a ticking time bomb just waiting for the problem to pop up again.
Any ideas?
TIA!!I've seen on two computers so far. Looking at the mount point under unix, the share is being mounted at two different locations. This is normal behaviour for Macs when you mount two different shares with the same name.
From terminal I run:
df
Which returns something like
/dev/disk0s2 1951845952 224463456 1726870496 12% /
devfs 360 360 0 100% /dev
map -hosts 0 0 0 100% /net
map auto_home 0 0 0 100% /home
//[email protected]/website 204360384 38067872 166292512 19% /Volumes/website
//[email protected]/website 204360384 38067872 166292512 19% /Volumes/website-1
map -fstab 0 0 0 100% /Network/Servers
Notice that the share "website" has been mounted once as website, and again as website-1. This is the underlying unix name for the share, which is how most programs (99% sure including Adobe suite products) will reference files. So, if it thinks that the file is at /Volumes/website/site/index.html but can only see /Volumes/website-1/ then it doesn't know what to do.
The confusion arises because both will show in Finder as "website". Even more annoying is that Finder does not always unmount shares correctly, so that /Volumes/website might not be accessible but /Volumes/website-1 will be. As far as the user is concerned, the share "website" is still mounted, but as far as Dreamweaver is concerned, it isn't, although website-1 is.
It's the same share, same data, but is being referenced by different names, so does not seem accessible.
BUT
I don't have a solution yet, apart from force unmounting both (or rebooting), remounting, and checking that Dreamweaver is using the right share (perhaps by removing and readding from within Dreamweaver).

Do all of those files exist on your sytemd? I'm not running testing nor systemd in my initrd, so I can't do much checking.

HP DV6700 Operating System Not Found- How Can I Access & Back Up Files?
1. HP Pavillon DV6700 -> old yes, I know
2. Operating System: Vista
3. Black Screen -> Err2Err3 Operating System Not Found
I ran the Primary Hard Drive Self Test > Hard Disk Self Test and it was a quick test. After it finished it came back with "#10009- Replace Hard Disk"
My question is: I've been tring to make this laptop last for as long as possible (obviously considering I was still using Vista). I plan to trash this laptop, but I need to know somehow, some way to access my files. There are pictures and essays that I absolutely need and I didn't do any back up in the last 2 months.
Please any suggestions!Yes use a usb to SATA adapter:
http://www.amazon.com/Patuoxun-Converter-Adapter-Cable-Drive/dp/B008ASF5MC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=13...
That one is very inexpensive on amazon.com. Connect the SATA hard drive to the adapter (after removing the drive from the laptop) and plug the usb connectors into two usb ports on any other computer running XP or greater. The laptop drive will (if you are lucky) mount as a lettered drive on the host computer and you can copy and paste files off the drive with Windows Explorer file browser. -
"Client error not found" = DOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!!
Ok been getting this a lot recently and I think it is to do with my printer setup script. There must be a way to fix it, but for the life of me I can not find the solution.
It usually starts with all printers on the system being paused. You can unpause them, but as soon as you try print they automatically pause again.
You can reset the print system, but when you try readd a printer you get the message of doom "client-error-not-found".
From then on I can not add any printer to the system and the only fix is a wipe and reinstall.
I mentioned above that I use a printer script to install the 10+ printers in the office onto the 80+ machines. All the machines are running 10.5 and upto date.
I have put the script to have a look at, but even if it is causing the problem there should be a way to fix the issue.

[SOLVED] Kernel panic at boot due to root FS not found
When I try to boot using a new kernel version (eg. 3.0.1 or 2.6.39), I get a kernel panic with an "init not found" error message. I haven't been able to get any more detailed error messages, but I assume that there's a problem with finding or mounting my root filesystem.
For now, I'm stuck with 2.6.38.7-1, which boots without any problems. (I keep trying the new kernel, then rolling it back using a Live CD.)
I have a shared EXT4 root and boot partition, and I'm using Grub 0.97. Other than that, I'm not sure what information would be helpful in tracking down this problem, and any help would be appreciated.

TP Agreement Not Found -- OAGIS XML document over AS2
Hi,
I am getting TP Agreement not found error while receiving OAGIS XML document over AS2. Below is error message.
Agreement not found for trading partners: FromTP SOALocal, ToTP Powell with document type PROCESS_INVOICE_002-null-INBOUND
I am not sure why it says null-INBOUND. It appears like it is not able to identify Document Version. DOCTYPE_REVISION=7.2.1 is being passed in the AS2 transport headers but still it does not recognize the version.
I am not sure what is missing. Please give some ideas hints.

I published a 35 photo web gallery I thought successfully, but when I go to the url listed at the top of the photo event folder, I get a web site not found error. The photos did upload to the iDisk in the "sites" folder, but it would apppear no web page was created.. there is a web gallery icon to the right of the photo album name that was uploaded.. I have upgraded my iPhoto with the latest ver via software update.. any thoughts??
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try making some minor change to the gallery and republish. See if that will jump start the online gallery. If that doesn't work, mount the iDisk, go to the Web/Sites folder and delete the contents of the _gallery folder (assuming you only have one gallery). Then republish again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file. -

Networkless install gives "not found in sync db" error
I'm trying to install on a laptop which whose network drivers are not in the install kernel and which doesn't have a cd. All files have to be transferred by usb till I can get it up and running and install the drivers.
I got the machine to boot from the network (pxeboot) and got into the install shell without any problems. On another machine I downloaded the current core iso, mounted it and copied all the packages to a usb disk which I then mounted as /src/arch/pkg on the laptop.
When doing step 2 of the install I got an error that it couldn't find /src/arch/pkg/setup so I created that directory, the errors went away but I then didn't get any packages in the package list. I tried mounting the package disk as /src/arch/pkg/setup and then tried again. This time I got a list of packages. I selected them all and went to step 3.
At this point it tries to access the network to refresh the package database, fails and gives me the error:
error: 'acl-2.2.47': not found in sync db
Looking in VT5 I get
error: failed to retrieve file 'current.db.tar.gz' from : No such file or directory
error: filed to synchronize current: no such file or directory
error: filed to synchronize any databases
Have I done something wrong? Having to create the setup directory feels wrong, I thought I just put the packages in /src/arch/pkg so I'm guessing that that may have something to do with it.
If not, how can I get round this? Can I create a database and drop it on the machine?unselect ABS from the package selection and try again.
Then install the abs package from the completed base install.
