APEX_ITEM.POPUP_FROM_LOV display type. Please help.

Hi all,
I am trying to create a form manually and I gave the source from sql query and the query is as follows:
select apex_item.POPUP_FROM_LOV(1,ac_type_fk,'AC_TYPE') ACTYPE
from c_MECS
When I run the form, the result I get is:
ACTYPE and a textfield and it is not as POPUP FIELD beside textbox.
I am able to set the dispaly as to popup LOV after the fact manually.
What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated.

I had to change the account password to devdev.
Looks like you used the wizard "Create Form from SQL Query". What you get from that wizard is a form based on a query where the query (and possibly a cartesian join) determine the tables and columns in the form (or something like that, I've never used it).
You were expecting something else, I don't know what exactly. I recommend that you try to do what you said in your first post, "I am trying to create a form manually". Just do that, don't use any wizards, and you will have complete control over the outcome.
