APO Application

Dear Expert ,
Could You Please help me how to Create APO Application in Transaction CFM1 Ceate Integration Model ?
Regards
Rami

Hello Rami,
The APO Application in the Int.Model is just an name identifier for bundling data in one package. For example.
(As Senthil explained), if you want to sent Materials,Plants, PDS,Resources to APO system. And if you wish to have 3 different APO applications for this,
for trasnferring the products, you may enter in the CFM1
Model Name ABCD
Logical System ABDCLNT001
APO Application ABC_PRODUCTS  (please note that, this APO application field is a free text field, and you can enter any new values here, you need not create this APO application in another transaction).
And for PDSs -->
Model Name ABCD
Logical System ABDCLNT001
APO Application ABC_PDS .
The basic advantage of having different APO Applications within  a IModel is that, if you wish to retransfer the data to APO, you may just re-trensfer the data contained in this APO Applciation rather than sending the entire data contained in the IModel.
So again, The APO Application is not created / defined in a different transaction. this is a free character field in the IModel creation.
Thanks,
Mahesh

  • CIF - Integration model name and APO application

    Hi Experts,
In the CFM1 Transaction, there are 3 mandatory inputs are Model name, Logical system and APO application.
Logical systems are customized in CFC1 transaction. I couldn't trace the model name and application creation.
What is the transaction to customize/Create the new Model name and APO application.
Hope this is very simple question to you and expect your soon.
    Thanks,
    Saravanan V

    Hi Somnath,
    Thanks for ur reply.
First I saved the selection as variant. But it was not updated in the IM table.
Then I tried to generate the model and now I can see the details when I use the F4 help.
So, to create a integration model need to generate the variant once.
    Thanks for the confirmation.
    Thanks,

  • APO application 2 (PPDS) in RRP3 view

    Folks
Does a receipt/ requirement element with Category group AU/AV which will have the APO application field   ( last column in RRP3 view) entry as 2 (PPDS), be displayed in standard SNP pallning books ?
I had included these categories(AU/AV) in one of the existing category groups and assigned it to the one of the intended Planning area key figures and had observed that these receipt/ requirement element weren't visible in the SNP data view KF.
Any way to resolve this issue ?
    Thanks

In RRP3, view I had checked that the R/3 Object type is P(Project Order) and Category is 'AU' and Category Type is '2' (Requirement) and both source and destination fields are populated. Requirement qty is 50
So now that the project order requirement (which is Reservation, in this case) exists in RRP3 view, what I am trying to accomplish is, to view this order reservation requirement in the SNP Planning book which I had created. As, standard 9ANSP94 planning area doesn't have any KF for reservation, I had created a new PA and had created a KF, with 000 semantics, to accomodate this order reservation requirement and further assigned this KF to this Category AU.
Now in the data view for this PA, I was expecting to see the Requirement qty of 50 but couldn't see it.
My question is as the Requirement already exists in the LC, shouldn't this be displayed in SNP planning books?
Hope I am clear and would appreciate if any one can rovide their insights and experiences on how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks

  • APO-DP/SNP production support issus

    Hi sap gures
this is suresh in APO-DP/SNP production support, which kind of errors
we got regularly and how to troubleshoot and how to resolve it , please tell me .i am new for the
    production support
    Regards
    Suresh Kumar

    Dear Suresh,
In APO production support many issues can come.
The types of issues are as below:
    1. Data issues  ( this forms major %)
    2. Application issues: Bug in APO application or related applciation,
    3. Process issues: The process it self is not robust designed and issues are occuring
Within above categories,  issues occur in SAP CIF ( core interface ) applciations , Jobs , process chains.
    Issue Resolution:
For resolving the issues, first you will have study business processes implemented in the client's APO systems.
Secondly, you will have to understand APO functionlities and direct these to appropriate resources, if you can not solve.
You can first refer the issue database to check if similar issues occured earlier  for a quick solution.
Otheriwise you can raise a query on SDN forum.
Good monirtoing of the background jobs, process chains, other interafces and promot action to rectify the job failures, helps to reduce the subsequent  issues occuring.

  • APO and BW in the same server, is possible?

    Hi Experts,
We have an BW 7.0 installation, and we are thinking about to install APO in the same server.
    - Is this possible?
    - Is there any application that integratte BI (Netweaver 2004s) and SCM-APO?
    - I will have only one login or are the separate applications  with individual user and loggin?
    >> Could you give me any link with sap recomendations about this?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hello,
BW is integral part of APO system & this is mainly used for APO Applications (DP). However yau may not be able to load APO on server where BW is already in place.
In case you are using BW extensively for other application, recommendation is to have independant BW sytem.

  • In which steps would you implement SCM APO?

A company want to use the APO applications DP, SNP, PP/DS and GATP in the future.
In which sequence would you implement these applications?
    Thanks for feedback.

    Hi,
There is no written down procedure for implementing any of the modules it depends on the business requirement
and the maturity levels of the Organization in handling SAP APO.
If organization is already on SAP ECC system the best thing to do is GO Live with all the models since then the
requirment gathering exercise and Blue Printing Exercise can be done in one shot and integration of each modules can be also done in one shot, this means that it reduces the efforts. However understanding of the APO system for the Business is a must
so that right fuctionalities can be selected in each modules to meet the business requirments.
    Thanks,
    Harsh

  • Material Master: where to maintain "SNP Demand" and "Deployment Profile" ?

    Hello experts,
the APO material master has on tab "SNP 2" the section "SNP Demand Profile" and "SNP Deployment Profile". For my understanding such profiles allow you to assign the same settings to a lot of products simply using such profile which contain predefined settings.
Does somebody know where / how I maintain (change, create, delete) such profiles. I was scanning master data and SNP section within customizing SPRO and the within APO application menu tree  under SNP and master data ... but couldn't find it.

    Thomas
    Use the following tcodes
    /n/sapapo/snp101 - Demand prof
    /n/sapapo/snp102  - Supply
    /n/sapapo/snp111 - Deployment
And yes you are right , if you look in menu path or SPRO you cant find these . Not sure why.

  • /SAPAPO/SYSDIR - Entry not found for Logical System

    Hi Guys...
I have upgraded a new SCM 5.0 box from a database copy of APO Production. Ran the BDLS to convert the logical system pointing to Quality box. The challenge I am facing is to define a Distribution Definition in SPRO for Planned Independent Requirements. One of the values required in the Publication Definition is 'Logical System'. I need to point this APO Quality system to R/3 Quality system.
Since this happened to be an upgrade from an APO production database, this does not have the R/3 Quality system in the list of Logical Systems when I do the drop down. All it has is the logical system name of the APO Quality System (Self) and R/3 Production System.
When I create a new entry by manually entering the logical system name of R/3 Quality System, it says no entry found in /SAPAPO/SYSDIR. My question is, how do I populate this directory with the logical system name of R/3 Quality system? Your answer at the earliest will be highly appreciated with correct points.
    Thank you.

Location in APO is nothing bu the Plant Master Data ( Or Vendor Master, Customer etc)
Goto Transaction- /sapapo/loc3 to view both the plants JNa and JWA
I think that you would have to define the integration mdoels which define what data( MASTER and TRNSACTIONAL) has to flow from R3 and APO and vice versa.
Contact your APO Functional Team to set these up for the new logical system(SCM Quality) in the transactions- CFM1 and CFM2 and define the data which has to flow between the systems ( R3 and APO)
    For your 2 locations:
Follow these steps in the meanwhile with the help of APO Functional Guy
    (1) Define the CONNECTIVITY steps which I have mentioned in the previous reply in R3 Quality
    (2)Goto transaction- CFM1
Enter a model name- LOC( Any Name)
Enter a logical system- SCM Quality
    APO Application- Lo(Any NAme)
    Select PLants check box and
IN the right hand side- General selection options input the 2 locations- JNA and JWA in the Plant Field
Save this and execute and then save it.
    (3) Goto CFM2 and automatically you should see the same model as you deifned in CFM1.
    Execute this.
The above steps make sure that the Location( Or PLant) master data is sent over to APO Quality.
Now the source system should have been changed on the location masters in APO.
Hopefully this should resolve the issue and you will be able to enter a publication type for your locations- JNA and JNW
There are many other steps which you need to do apart from these for your entire setup.
    Good Luck with this problem
    Regards
    Kumar

  • Naming of Business objects

Also I would like to know how we name different objects in BI.

    Hi sudha;
The following namespaces are generally available for BW objects:
    SAP-delivery (Business Content) namespace:
            Objects beginning with 0
Generated objects in the DDIC beginning with /BI0/
    InfoCube 0SALES, fact table /BI0/FSALES
    Customer namespace:
            Objects beginning with A-Z
Generated objects in the DDIC beginning with /BIC/
    InfoCube SALES, fact table /BIC/FSALES
    Partner-specific namespace and customer-specific namespace:
            Object begins with /XYZ/ (example)
Special SAP namespaces for generated objects:
The prefixes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 are required in BW for DataSources and InfoSources in special SAP applications.
The prefix 9A is required for the SAP APO application.

  • Error on CIF activation

    Dear APO experts..
While activating CIF IM I am getting following error and the material is not trasferred to APO
    "System: APOCLNT660  User: ZPAPOTEST
    *Function/Q/SAPAPO/CIF_PROD_INBOUND*
*Text: Too many parameters specified with PERFORM*
As I was not able to process further .....please throw lights on this issue....
    Advance Thanks
    Poongunran

    Hi Poongunran,
Based on your symptoms, it seems there is some problem in material master data in R/3.
    1)  For transfer from R/3 to APO, the mandatory requirement is that MRP type in MRP 1 Tab should be XO.  Please check whether it is done.
    2)  Also check whether all mandatory fields in Basic views, Workscheduling views, MRP views are properly maintained for the product location combination
    3)  Also check whether the location is first transferred to APO (and it is in active 000 model)
    4)  Check whether the resources in the BoM of this product are maintained properly and it is transferred to APO.
    5)  In CFM1 transaction, check whether the model name, logical system, APO application are entered properly
    6)  In CFM1 transaction, check whether tick is made against "materials" and entry of Material and Plant are made.  Once you generate the integration model, carryout consistency check in foreground, it will tell you errors if any.
    Please confirm

  • RE: DEACTIVATING INTEGRATION MODEL (IM) IN BACKGROUND

    G'day Team,
The CIF IM's can be deactivated using CFM2 and deactivate logic: click inactive & "Start".
Does anyone know whether this process can be run in the background using ECC RIMODAC2?
    Points awarded for feedack.
    Andy Gosling

    HI Andy,
You can use the program RIMODAC2 in background. Create the background  job where there should be two steps.
    1- Activation of IM --RIMODGEN
2- Deactivation --RIMODAC2 - Put -MODEL --LOGICAL SYSTEM and APO application .

    Hello Kiran,
    1. Only you could made decision about your backup/recovery strategy.
    2. There are the administration tasks that you have to perform regularly, see
    u201CRegular Administration Tasksu201D at
       http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_6/25/5b27401544ed01e10000000a155106/content.htm
Also please review u201CChecklist for Recovery of SAP APO liveCache >= 7.4u201D recommended in my reply above.
    3. If you could not find the decision about your backup/recovery strategy, I recommend to create the SAP ticket to check more details on what OS resources you have, what backup tools you are using, what APO applications you run. What backup/recovery strategy you have currently on your system.
    4. The u201CBest Practicesu201D documents already recommended you ::

  • Integration model for transactinoa data

    Hi
what is the transaction code to reactivate integration model  for the transactional data, let say example, changes in po or sales order after activating the integaration model. which transaction code we have to use reactivate. please any one help me

Hi somnath , Online Transfer of Transaction Data using BTE is activated in R/3 SPRO (should be enabled for ND-APO application)
I think  above what u mentioned is  cfc9 tansaction code. It is mainly meant for materila master, vendor master , customers. simply menat for master data. But for transacrtional data likoe PO's , SO   will not come into picture. Right?
    Please clarify me.
Online Transfer of Transaction Data using BTE is activated in R/3 SPRO (should be enabled for ND-APO application).
    2) Publication settings (Distribution Definitions) maintained in APO for the locations in SPRO.
Can u tell me the path or transaction code for the above event

  • Core interface problem (CIF)

We have a problem transferring a material master from R/3 into APO 3.0. Here are the steps we are performing + the error we are getting.
    1. Create integration model in R/3 via TCode cfm1. We pick a model name, the right logical system and an APO Application.
    2. We click the checkbox for materials and Plants
    3. In the general Select Options we put 1 material and 1 plant.
    4. We press F8 to create the integration model
    5. We go to TCode cfm2 to activate the integration model
    6. We activate the model and start the transfer.
    7. We get the following error in a popup window:
    Outbound Queue blocked
    Function:/SAPAPO/CIF_GEN_EVENT
    Text: NOSENDS
    8. We go to the qRFC Monitor and  see the queue name and the destination
We process the queue and the application log at TCode CFG1 shows everything is green and processed.
    9. When we check the material master in APO it is not updated.
Can anyone help ? Maybe it's related to the outbound queue blocked message above.
    Regards,
    Prabuddha Ghatak

Go to SMQ1in the R/3 system and check out the outbound queue for APO as queue destination. Check to see the details of the queue.
Function: /SAPAPO/CIF_GEN_EVENT basically is the key completion queue which comes back from APO to R/3 to confirm transfer happened correctly and sets the Integration Model Active flag.
Check with BASIS team if the CIF has been setup correctly.
Also suggest splitting the integration model into two - first transfer the plants and upon successful transfer to APO, transfer the materails. Please note for transfer of the materials to APO the MRP controller needs to be created manually as Production Planner in APO.
    Hope this helps.
