APO-DP - Change in Calculation Type of Key Figure in Production Environment

Hi Team,
I wish to know how to make a change in Calculation Type of Key Figure in Production Environment. I wish to change calculation type from "P" to "S" and also wish to enter Disaggregated Key Figure.
Regards,
Tarun Jha

HI,
The TR will not move the changes as you are expecting here.
Any changes to planning area, below 5.0 need to de-intialize the planning area.
just like
1. hold the latest back up
2. de-intialize planning area
3. make the required changes to planning area
4. initialize planning area and do conisistency checks
5. load back the data to planning area at all CVC level
all the steps need to perfom, in Dev and Quality and Production servers,
Plan the activity for a weekend so that users will not get disturb*
All the best

  • Changing the formula to a key figure on a query

    Hello All,
I do not have access to BEx. I would please like to know how to change the formula to a key figure "Total $" in a QD Promo Analysis query (technical name - N03_Q_D_N03_SD_502_0003). Will transaction RSRT take me to the query and eventually the formula so I can change it? If so please give me guidance as this is the first time I go into transaction RSRT. If there is another way please also give guidance.
    Thank you and kind regards
    Keith Kibuuka

    Hi Vishvesh,
Thank you for your response. Maybe access to BEx was the wrong word - I do have access although I was trying to avoid configuring the SAP logon to add this particular client onto because I have not done this before. My boss has helped me and I have now have "access".
Therefore from the query designer can you please guide me on how to change the formula to a key figure on a query? Input from all people is also be very much appreciated.
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Keith

  • About value type and key figure type

    Hello Gurus,
please explan the different usage of about value type and key figure type.  what is the typical values for both infoobjects ?
    Many thanks,
    Frank

    Hi,
0METYPE is a key figure-specific info object usually used to define semantics of the individual business key figures in BW (for example, actual, commitment, plan, target values).
Its a bi specific field which is filled from extract structure field named MEASTYPE table COSR
Refer to OSS Note 523742 for how it is filled and the following link for additiona information.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/91/ddd52b9ef30645a338e28aae443807/frameset.htm
Note 523742 - BCT-CO: BW key figure model and R/3 tables for trans. data
This note provides information on the key figure model in the area of BW Content CO-OM. It also gives an overview of the DataSources for transaction data and the corresponding source tables and value fields in the R/3 System.
The key figure model for currency fields in the area of CO-OM contents affects the following info object of type key figure:
    0AMOUNT Amount
The key figure itself does have any business semantics.
The semantics of the individual business key figures in BW (for example, actual, commitment, plan, target values) is determined using combinations of values for the following key figure-specific info objects (see also the account model in SEM-BPS, note 407563):
    0METYPE Key figure type
    0VTYPE Value type for reporting
--> 0VTDETL Details of the value type
--> 0VTSTAT Statistics indicator for the value type.
For example, using transaction SE16, the possible characteristics of the values of this InfoObject can be taken from the above-mentioned master data tables in R/3.
The business key figures on the InfoCubes of the standard BW content were defined as restricted key figures using this semantics of the key-figure-specific characteristics.
The conversion of the R/3 transaction data in the BW key figure model is carried out in the extractors using the ROMI_GET_VTYPE_AND_DETAIL function module. It primarily happens using the specified conversion tables.
The following dependencies exist for the source tables of the DataSources:
    COSP_VTYPE for COSS, COSP, COVP,
    COSB_VTYPE for COSB,
    BPXX_VTYPE for BPGE, BPJA, BPEE
If an R/3 source record cannot be converted using these tables, it may not be extracted to BW.The application log of the R/3 DataSource transaction RSA3 contains entries for the unconverted values after the test run.(The log function for the CO-OM DataSources was considerably improved by the correction for note 523655).
The application log for the extraction runs from BW can be evaluated using transaction SLG1 (Object: RSAP, object information: RSAP_INFO)
Furthermore, the semantics of a key figure are still determined by the time characteristics and the following key-figure-specific info objects:
0CURTYPE Currency type (for more information, see note 517909),
0DB_CR_IND Debit/credit indicator (for more information, see note 065075),
    0VERSION CO version

  • Change comma and period in key figure presentation in BEx WAD reports

    Hi gurus
We run our BEx WAD reports in the SAP portal. By default the thousands separator is period and the decimal separator is comma. How can I change this so the period becomes the decimal separator and the comma becomes the thousands separator?
    Kind regards
    Erik

    Hi Erik,
you can change this by setting at user parameters.
At system, at any screen (RSA1) -> menu SYSTEM- > USER PROFILE -> OWN DATA ->  Defaults Tab, here you can change.
    and Save.
these will reflect in WAD report output.
    Best Regards.

  • Condition Types : Calculation Type Change from A (percentage) to B (fixed )

    Dear All,
We created a condition type (Calculation Type : A (percentage) ) and assigned access sequence and maintained in pricing procedure but later decided to change the calculation type to B (Fixed Amount) on this condition type.
I am wondering, what impact it will have ?? Can I simple change the calculation type on this condition type or should I take care of any thing else ??
Let me know, What things I have to take care of.  Thanking you.
    Anu.

    Hi Anu,
No need of worry if it is independent condition type, means other conditions are not depending on it OR it is not depending on others.
Also check the condition records if they have any impact.
Else not a big issue, simply go ahead.

  • ELSEIF in calculated key figure

    Dear gurus
We have recently upgraded to NW2004s, and would need some help on the formula for my calculated key figure. This calculated key figure is meant to replicate IF... ELSEIF statement, depending on what the user enters. The logic that we have are as below :
IF Var=1, then display key figure A
ELSEIF Var=2, then display key figure B
ELSEIF Var=3, then display key figure C
ELSEIF Var=4, then display key figure D
where Var is a Formula Variable, Processing By User Entry/Default value.
The formula that we have originally, in BW3.5 is :
    <i>(Var == 1) * 'Amount in TC' + (Var== 2) * 'Amount in Comp Code' + (Var == 3) * 'Amount in Parall USD' + (Var == 4) * 'Amount in Hard Cur' </i>
This formula has served us well in BW 3.1 to BW 3.5, and never had any problems with it. However, when we migrated over to BW 7.0, we could not get values for this formula (eventhough we have data in our cubes). The only data that get is when we key in Var=1, but when we try with Var=2, 3 or 4, no data is displayed in our key figure.
We tried to debug, but somehow we could not figure out how the new BW7.0 calculates these type of key figures, and whether is there a change in the formula variable. We believe that the problem may lie in the way that BW 7.0 interprets the formula above, and only obtains the first portion of the formula (Var==1).
We would appreciate any helps, and of course, points will be awarded if problem can be solved.
    Thanks a lot

    Dear all
With some luck in searching, I manage to find an OSS note which depicts this error and resolve it. For those who have the same problem, please use this OSS Note 994194.
    Cheers

  • Behaviour of WAD when changing result calculation

    Hi,
when I´m changing the result calculation of one key figure in WAD (Web Application Designer) through right mouse click in the web browser (Internet Explorer) where the whole results are displayed the calculation is sometimes done and sometimes not.
Is this behaviour in the web browser normal Is this a technical issue?
For example: I have the result "last value" for one key figure (the whole range of values for each single month is shown in the column) and then I click on the key figure and select "calculate result as" > Sum.
Sometimes the calculation is done and sometimes not. I think the whole query needs to be updated (refresh) in the web browser after it doesn´t work and then it works.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Dimitry,
this was a limitation. But with notes 1093146 (BEx Analyzer) and 1013584 (BEx Web Analyzer) these limitations were removed.

  • Change Key Figure Value based on Characteristics

    Hi,
I have a report where based on characteristics value I have to change the value of the key figure either to + (Positive) or -(Negative).
Is it possible through virtual keyfigure?
Can anyone give me details of the same.
If anybody can send me complex reporting document, please send it to
    [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Moon

Hi.. Do u want to implement this only in the report or store the sign back into the cube ?
If u just want to use the value of the masterdata as a key figure for calculation (i.e. u can read the value of the masterdata or attribute and write a formula variable that uses this value and returns a sign), use a formula variable with replacement path and u've got ur results.. in case u want to store this in the cube, the transformations would help..
let me know if this helps and it would help further if u explain the exact scenario...

  • Calculated key figures from multicubes before aggregation

    Hi,
I am calculating a total using a calculated key figure
that has one key figure from a multicube and two other key figures from another multicube.
Also I factor the total using a variable with a replacement path on the dummy attribute (Constant) to "force" the calculation at the material level.
    Cost = Cost(CUBE1) / Quantity(CUBE1) * Quantity(Cube2) * ZVRMATER1
    Problem:
If I split the calculation this works before aggregation at the material level. Also this works fine using calculations that use key figures that must be calculated before aggregation if they all are from the same cube at the time.  The required formula above will not work (zero divide) since during selection the OLAP processor retrieves in phases and with value 0 from the key figure of CUBE2.
Any suggestion on how to solve this without new back-end development?
    Thanks.

  • How To Change Key Figure Name

    Hi Gurus,
Is it possible to change the name of a Key Figure in Demand Planning? For example, in DP, i have a Key Figure name 'Sales Forecast'. The 'Sales Forecast' currently appears in every Planning book it was set.
Now, for alignment of understanding, I need to change the name from 'Sales Forecast' to 'Sales Demand' . Basically, i just need to change the text that appear in the Planning book and in the extracted BI reports.
Logic of Key Figure will remain the same. Is this possible? How do I go about this? I only know of how to add a Key Figure but never thought of how to change the Key Figure name/description.
    Thanks in advance!
    Nap

    Hi,
You can change it in 2 ways.
1] Go to each Planning Book in Edit mode.
In that go to a Tab called Key Figure Attributes.
Select your Sales Forecast Key figure from the dropdown   against Key Figure.
Then in Description click the radio button Free Text and give your new name which is Sales Demand.
This you have to do for all the PB in which this KF is used.
    2] Go to RSA1 : Admin Workbench
Under Modeling section go to InfoObject.
Select your KF. Double Click on it. Or right click and go to Change mode.
Then change the Long and Short Description of the KF as desired.
    Save & Activate the KF.
This will change your KF description for all the PB in which you have used the same PA.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Using Explorer with Calculated Key Figures from BEx (BW 7.31 / BI 4.1)

I'm looking for suggestions on how to leverage data from calculated and restricted key figures in BEx (from a BW 7.31 system) with Business Objects Explorer (from a BI 4.1 system).  Our current process involves some complicated workarounds and with the implementation of BI 4.1 and I'm hoping to streamline things a bit.
Here is what I had in mind...
An information space (indexed daily) sitting on a universe (hopefully UNX) that referred to a BEx query on a multiprovider in BW.  My understanding was that universes would be able to consume BEx queries (including their restricted and calculated key figures) in 4.1.  Based on a recent post (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3417905), it appears that the feature that I was hoping for may have not made it into the GA release.  Obviously, I could move the calculations and restrictions into BW ETL or maybe into the universe, but since that work has already been done and lives in the queries, I'm hoping to use them!  Also, we could use a different tool such as WebI, but at this point the user base is comfortable with Explorer and we would like to continue to use it.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks!
    -S

    Hi McDowell,
Regarding to the BEx connection in Explorer, SAP provide two solution
    1. BWA connection
    2. Unv on top of connection
For the UNV situation, you could use the calculated / restricted key figure in the system but please assgin the aggregation level for them (Database delegate is not supported if I am not wrong)
    Also plese consider two points
    1. Data size (UNV cannot support large data size)
    2. Scheduling (Explorer does not support event trigger? correct me if I am wrong)

  • SAP Note 0407563: Key Figure Model versus Account Model in BW

I am reviewing a document on Key Figure Model versus Account Model in BW.
There are a number of references to "SAP Note 0407563", can anyone with access to this note post it here for me to review. Sometimes some otf there links prompt for password.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    <b>SAP Note 0407563</b>
    Symptom
You would like to design a data model for SEM-BPS and you are not sure, whether to use the key figure or the account model.
You are looking for proposals for data modelling.
    Additional key words
bps0, key figure, characteristic, model, data modelling, consultation
    Cause and prerequisites
In the following you find a simple example by means of which the terms key figure and account model are defined.
In the example we want to assign several key figures (for example revenues) to a characteristic (for example customer), whose units (for example currency DM) are identical.A modeling option, which is called key figure model, contains all key figures in one data record.
    Customer Revenue_1 Revenue_2 Revenue_3
    A 10 DM 30 DM  50 DM
In the account model, on the other hand, an additional characteristic is added, which separates the revenue types.
    Customer Type Revenue
    A 1 10 DM
    A 2 30 DM
    A 3 50 DM
Advantages and disadvantages from the point of view of data modelling
You can easily add an additional revenue type in the account model, because you do not have to change the data structure. In the key figure model, on the other hand, you must add an additional key figure to the structure. It actually depends on the frequency of these changes occurring.
A data record that is to be changed by a processor, is exclusively locked by SEM-BPS for this processor.A lock that only concerns individual key figures of a data record is not possible. As a consequence the different revenue types can be changed simultaneously by different processors in the account model, wheras in the key figure model one processor automatically locks all key figures exclusively for his own use.
If you use a planning function in the account or key figure model, a different Customizing is required in general. Consequently, a conversion of the data model leads to a change of Customizing in general.
Advantages and disadvantages from the technical point of view
The transaction data is stored in the BW.Analyses have shown that the read time basically depends on the number and not on the size of the data records. In the above example you can see that by changing the key figure and account model the number of records increases by factor 3, which means that you must expect longer read times. When determining the factor you must take into account that normally not all key figures are used in every record in the key figure model. As a consequence only those records are created when changing to the account model, for which the key figures are not equal to zero.
    Example:
So if in the above example the key figure Revenue_1 is not used, only two records are generated and consequently the value of the factor is also reduced to 2.
After the transaction data has been read from the BW, it is stored in the application server's memory. The amount of memory required depends, among other things, on the number and on the length of the records. The length can be influenced by the data model you choose:in the key figure model the records are longer than in the account model and therefore consume more memory for each record. Therefore, the key figure or account model will require less memory depending on the relationship between record length and number of records.
When the data model is changed, also the planning functions must be revised.Depending on the type of calculation there might be advantages for one of the models.
    Example and rules of thumb
The following example contains 30 key figures, which were mapped to 3 key figures and one additional characteristic with a maximum of 10 characteristic values when you changed to the account model. In both models a price calculation between three key figures each was executed.Consider the specifications in the table as relative specifications:For the number of data records you for example find a and a*10.This means that in the second case the number of data records is larger by factor 10 than in the first case. The determination of the relationships is based on 5000 data records in the key figure model.
Example: all key figures are used (100%)
measured size      :     Key figure model, Account model
    Number data records:      a      ,     a*10
    Read time       :     l      ,     l*10
    Price calculation:      t      ,     t*9
    Data record length:      d*4      ,     d
    Memory requirement :     m      ,     m*3
Example: Key figures are partially used (20%)
measured size      :     Key figure model ,Account model
    Number data records :          a      ,     a*2
    Read time           :     l      ,     l*2
    Price calculation      :     t      ,     t*2
    Data record length      :     d*4      ,     d
    Memory requirement      :     m      ,     m*0,8
    How are the sizes determined?
Read the related notes for details on the use of the statistics.
    1. a: In the statistics of SEM-BPS or BW this value is stored when you execute a planning function. The method has the name 0-DB1.
    2. l: The above statistical record also contains the execution time.
    3. t: In the statistics of SEM-BPS a record is stored for the planning function. The overall runtime of the planning function contains the database time. Therefore the database time must be subtracted from the runtime of the planning function to determine t.
    4. d: The data record length corresponds to the data structure length (ABAP length), which is generated for every area. The name is made up as follows:
      Prefix:  /1SEM/_YS_DATA_
      Client: mmm
      Name of the area: gggggggg
The client must always be specified with three digits, the area only in its actual length. The name for an area called 'MYAREA' which is in client 001 is for example /1SEM/_YS_DATA_001MYAREA.When you determine the length, note that there is the dictionary and the ABAP length (Transaction SE11 => Extras => Structure width => ABAP length) and that the total of the two structures contained must be determined. In the structure stated above, for example /1SEM/_YS_CHAS_001MYAREA and /1SEM/_YS_KYFS_001MYAREA are contained. The total is the length you are looking for.
    5. m: After executing the planning function, start Transaction STAD and find the appropriate statistical record for the dialog step, in which you have executed the planning function. The record contains a memory specification, which is the desired value for s.
    Solution
Bear in mind that the values from the example are not generally valid, but were determined from a specific example. We recommend that you determine the parameters (both the values of the variables and of the relationships) for your specific case and to use it as the basis for discussion. You should not choose too few data records, because the fixed memory consumers predominate otherwise.

  • Program or FM tochange description of key figure in all queries at a time

    Hi,
As per my requirement  i need to change the description of a key figure from OED to IEG in all the reports which are containing "OED" as key figure at Query level only.
Its a KF and not a resteicted key figure or calculated KF.
Is there any program or table or Function module where we can change the key figure description directly
without going to each Query and change it.
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks & Regards
    Bharathi

texts for key figures chars. etc are refrenced only once when query is created. after that if description changes in the infoobject that doesn't reflect in query.
Texts for all elements are maintained in RSZELTTXT table. you can write a simple program to modify texts of elements which suit your need. Contact any abaper in your team to write this program which simply updates the texts of certain elements..
    logic may be like this
select all lines from RSZELTTXT where TXTSH = 'Plant' or TXTLG = 'Plant'.
modify these llnes with new text.
update rszelttxt with these new lines

  • Adding new key figures to DP planning area

    I am using APO DP.
When adding new key figures to a planning area, is there any way of avoiding having to deinitialise and then re initialise the planning area?
Thanks for any advice on this...

First of, let us know which version of DP are you using.
If you are using 7.0, all you need to do is right click on your planning area and select Change Keyfigure setting and you should be able to update the key figures there.
The below is from SAP help for SAP APO 7.0, you should be able to add the key figure without deinitializing the planning area.
    Key Figure Settings
Here you can change the properties of the key figures of a planning area, if the planning area has already been initialized. You can also add or delete key figures. However, you can only delete key figures that are no longer used in planning books, data views, macros, or demand forecasts. You can find out in which objects a specific key figure is used with the where-used list.

  • Removing Key Figures during Execution

Hi, is there any way to remove any type of Key Figure, from the Key Figure structure during execution time?  If so, how about adding them into the Key Figure structure as well?
Ex.  I have Calculated KF A, and B.  I want to have a button on a Web Template that removes KF B from the entire KF structure.  When it does this action, the only Key Figure shown is KF A.
Any suggestions?  Is there even a function/method in a class to do that?  Even a hide function would work for me.
    Thanks.
