App Store won't "Update All"

Hey gang-
I'm running an iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.3.3.    Today opened the App Store app and tapped "Update All".   A message popped up saying "Update Required. This app requires iOS 5.0"
And that's all it says!   It doesn't say which app on the Update list is causing that.     Soooo, I went through and individually tapped Update on each of the 34 apps on the Update list (yes I'm a little behind, but in truth that's only about 2 weeks worth.)  Tapping the Apps individually does not get that error, but tapping Update All does every time.
Some new known issue?
Thanks!
Dave

I am having the same issue; I saw on some post that this is a memory space issue but I still have 2GB left.
I am so tired of this device with the iOS black vial, if you don’t want to use this device exactly as Apple wants you to you might as well toss it in the garbage. I have 80 apps waiting for update because I have not used my IPAD in awhile because I find my Android phone much easier to use. Now I try to"Update All" and I get a wonderful useful message "Update Required" "This app requires iOS 5.0". Thanks a lot which one of the 80 apps is this error from?
So tired of this device; For Christmas we got some I-tune gift cards. That was fun trying to figure out where/how to register them; because the links and directions on the card do not match the very lame web-site. I-tunes is one of the worst web-sites out there. And if Apple is listening ("which I know they aren’t; they never listen to user we do not know what we want") Makeup your mind is it going to be called I-Tunes, I-store, I-tunes-store. And then update your documents to match!
Sorry started ranting……..

    Hey Duddy1888,
Thanks for the question. Try changing your payment information to “None”. If you are unable to select “None” as a payment option, see the following resource:

  • App store won't update any apps

I noticed a while ago I had updates for some apps through the app store so set them all to update. Now it is maybe 3/4 weeks later and everything has frozen and I don't know how to fix it - I can't open or use many of my apps due to this. A couple of the apps do say "downloading" but they have been at this same stage for a while now. My app store won't even open anymore and I just get the little refresh symbol no matter how long I leave it for. Can anyone help? I've added some pictures so you can see what's happening.

Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
Sometimes the cause of the problem may be an outage in Apple's network, in which case none of the steps below will have any effect. You just have to wait for the outage to be fixed. That should rarely, if ever, take more than a few hours.
    Step 1
Sign in to the App Store by selecting Sign In from the Store menu. If you're already signed in, sign out and then sign in again.
    Step 2
Log out or restart the computer.
    Step 3
Remove or disable "LittleSnitch" or any similar third-party software that blocks outgoing network connections according to the developer's instructions.
    Step 4
Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode.)
    Step 5
If possible, connect to a different network and test.
    Step 6
There are reports that resetting the PRAM may solve the problem in some cases. I can't confirm.

  • The apps I get from the App Store won't download all the way?

I Have gotten some apps from the App Store and they won't download all the way. It says that they are waiting. Also some of my already downloaded apps that need updates won't  update and I can't get into them. Please  help me I'm new at all of this stuff.

I have posted these suggestions for the "waiting" apps issue many times in the past. Many of these suggestions have worked for others in the past. Hopefully, one of them will work for you.
    1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
    2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first.
    4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
    6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
    7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • Mac App Store won't Update Purchase...

    Hello
    I have a Macbook
    It is running 10.6.8
I purchased Angry Birds through the Mac Appstore (not itunes.. the Mac App store..) a while ago.
I noticed last night there was an update available (on the Dock, a little red 1 in the App Store logo)
I click on the App store logo and click on Updates
I see the update that is available
I click on that and get this error message
"You Have Updated Available for Other Accounts..
To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it."
However.. I have NO other accounts..
I have been in touch with Apple Support and they cannot help me and said I should contact Roivo support.. however this seems more an AppStore issue than an App issue
I have run the command to make sure I have no 3rd party apps installed (I don't)
There is no pirated or illegal apps on this computer
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Angry Birds app and still the same error.
Previous updates to this particilar app were fine..
    Thoughts?

    Just per chance, you could try this;
    Finding a pirated app
All MAS apps have a MAS receipt in their app bundle. Check any app acquired from the MAS. Right click on the app's icon in your Apps folder and choose Show package contents. In the Contents folder is a _MASReceipt folder and in that folder is the coded MAS receipt. It has the Apple ID of the MAS account that bought/acquired the app from the MAS. It is that receipt that the MAS uses to alert you that an app has an update. There would not be a notice of an update with someone else's Apple ID showing in the MAS on your Mac, if there was not an app with a receipt from this person's account somewhere on your Mac.
    Download the free app FindAnyFile (FAF);
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
This app is easier to use and seems to be more powerful than Spotlight. Open FAF and in the box type _MASReceipt and press Find. It should come up with a list of every app on the Mac with a MAS receipt. Compare the apps with receipts in FAF's list with your purchased apps list in the Mac App Store. The odd app out should be the pirated app.

  • I can't update my I Pad 2 Apps. The App Store won't update my new Apple ID.

I have a old I Pad 2 and all Warranty's have expired. I did a total update with My Apple Account on my computer with My I Pad 2 connected to I Tunes and I had no problems updating all my new Apple ID because I changed Communication Companies. I now have a new email address but can't update my Apps because my old Apple ID keeps showing up, asking for my password. Can some kind person help me with a good useful answer ?

Hello and thank you for your time. First of all my former Apple ID was my old email address and that was closed because I changed internet companies. Next I had my new internet company email address that I had to put into my AppleI Pad 2 settings, to receive all mail etc. That's why I had to use the new email address for my Apple ID. Then the problem with the I Tunes Store. I never used Apps that had to be purchased and I never purchased anything from any Apple I Tunes Stores. I guess I will try like you suggested and close all apps and then re update them onto my new email address. If that doesn't work, then I will wait until I purchase my new I Pad because Apple have told me that they will fix this I Pad 2 for me and I can do with it as I please. Again I thank you sincerely for your kindness in taking time to give me advice, I really appreciate it.

  • App store won't update apps because of iTunes

I have several apps that need updating, however, when I try to update them via the app store, I run into a wall.  After entering my password, I get a message that says I have to agree to a new version of the terms and conditions of iTunes.  I do that promptly (without reading all 62 pages) but when I do, I get an iTunes Store message that says "Your session has timed out" and that's a dead end; no apps update.  I've restarted everything several times, including the phone, iTunes is currently up to date and everything otherwise seems to be working OK.  What's up with this?

unfortunatly my iphone 4 is brocken and i can't remmember what i excactly did to fix that problem but all i can think about if the application's size you want to update is small you can delete it and then download it again ..sorry, maybe someone else could help you

  • Safari, App Store, iTunes, System Updates all stopped working - what can I do?

I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro running Lion.  I have not had any trouble with computer performance.  I do have internet access and am using Firefox to type this.  So my connection isn't a problem.
I've had this computer since February-ish, and I've never had problems.  However, a few days ago, Safari just quit working.  I can open it up fine and it loads with a slight hesitation.  However, after about 10 seconds, it just stops loading.  There is NO beachball.  The loading just freezes.
So for instance, I can open Yahoo.  It will open the page fine.  But the second I try to load my mail or any other site, it just stops in the loading process.  So again, the internet connection isn't the problem.
And I thought, "Oh, I should install the new updates!  That might fix it."  Wrong.  System Updates just sits in the Install phase until I force close it.  iTunes will not open (beachball).  The App Store opens to a blank page.  Even some games don't open.
However, Firefox is fine.  And so are most of my other apps.
Will somebody pleeeeeeease help me?  I hate this.  haha  Thanks.

Oh and I've tried restarting Safari (multiple times).  I've shut down the computer, too.  No help.

  • 4s 8.1.3 wireless connected app store won't update when requested

Couldn't find an exact scenario...also had issues just searching for "4s 8.1.3 Issues" on this forum...kept having issues finding  a match.  I am sure I'm missing something obvious.  Please advise if possible.
Updated my moms 4s to 8.1.3
My 6+ was already on 8.1.3
Selecting "update" in app store, progress circle has one tiny line at 12 0'clock position, it does not progress
Cellular off, wireless on...connects fine to Safari
Cellular off, wireless on...connects fine via facetime to my 6+ fine
My 6+ automatically updates apps on wireless, it update 3 already today
Successfully updated the apps she absolutely needed via her cellular connection.
Long story short...my brother upgraded her computer but did not re-install I Tunes.  He not so secretly loathes Apple.  So it's not possible, as yet, to update her phone on ITunes...and I've run out of time today.  I expect that I'll have to update her phone via ITunes once I properly install it...but I still think she should be able to update her apps easily via wireless.

After several hours of frustration with suggestions that did not work,
the app store suggested that I try to delete the Remote Desktop App and
    try again.
After deleting the app, emptying the  trash and rebooting I found that
clicking the update button would download the App.
After setting stuff up I found that with 3.5.1 I could:
      1) generate reports from clients.
      2) copy a file by dragging  from a client window to the admin desktop
    3) the copy to a client command still fails
      4) the remote install still fails.

  • App store won't update iWork

I purchased iWork 9 on disc several years ago and recently upgraded to Yosemite. Now the App store has a prompt to upgrade iWorks, but when I try to do so it says that "This update is not available for this Apple ID."
I figured I needed to register the software so the App store would recognize that I own it, but when I choose "Register Pages" from the File menu, it simply sends me to the Apple main page. In any case, although I still have the software disc, but there doesn't seem to be any serial number on it. Any advice on how to get the App store to admit that my copy of iWorks is indeed mine?

If you skipped Mavericks or didn't register them with the Mac App Store while running Mavericks, click here and contact Apple.

Have you disabled Spotlight indexing? I laid out my path to my solution (found just this morning!) here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=13006522
The console log that led me here was:
date time mdsprocessID (Warning) Server: No stores registered for metascope "kMDQueryScopeComputer"
which showed up each time I started the App Store. mds is part of Spotlight and the main reason I disabled indexing of the root drive to begin with. Spotlight had to finish indexing the drive before the App Store started working properly. I'm guessing it uses spotlight in some manner, or tries to, and the error causes some bug further down in the App Store process.
I emailed customer support and they were very unhelpful, only offering to reset my Apple ID password, and refusing further communication until I provided my billing info in order to do so!
    Hope this helps you.

  • Anyone know why App Store won't load all icons on my MacBook Pro and iPad but do on my iPhone when connected to the same wi-fi?

I have about 1/2 of the app store icons loading when accessing the store.  The issue just started a few days ago.  I have this issue on my MacBook pro and my iPad using the same router.  Router checks out and I do have access to the Internet.  Any ideas?

Open the Mac App Store on your MacBook Pro
Hold the Option key and click on “Purchases”
Hold the Option key and click on “OS X Lion” from the purchased app list
“Installed’ should now say “Install” which allows you to download OS X Lion.
This assumes you are using the same Apple ID on both computers.
Lion does not get installed on an iPad. It runs iOS.
