App update... changing product name

Yesterday my app was put on the app store... unfortunately my product name isn't right (the name that appears under the icon when installing on the iphone)... I had a temporary product name, which I thought I changed before submitting... but I think I only changed it in the debug configuration... so the release configuration still had my old product name...
So I fixed the product name in the release configuration and submitted an update...
so I have a couple of questions:
1) Will apple accept this update? Nothing in the app itself has changed except for the product name... but I think it's important to have the right app name appearing under the icon...
2) The binary file name is different from the initial submission... will this cause a problem for updating in any way?

Make sure your Distribution build has the right product name (just want to make sure everyone reading knows, since I only mentioned "release" build in my original post)
I think the best way to make sure might be to go to Project -> Edit active target... then select "All configurations" in the drop down at the top... then change the product name in the "Packaging" section... it will set all builds to the same name...

Here is what you need to do...This model doesn't need the asset tag or serial # change utility...
After entering BIOS Setup by hitting the F10 key, press Ctrl+A to open additonal fields in Security>System IDs menu.
Enter your PC's serial number in Asset Tag Number and Chassis Serial Number fields.
Save changes there and again when you exit the BIOS.

Why would you need to do this?
Generally, it is not possible (not supported). However, you can do that for certain modules (like HR/Payroll). Refer to the following note for more details:

Creative cloud app, updating cc products windows 8.1

Hi, i recently upgraded to windows 8.1and reinstalled my adobe cc products, however i have noted that everytime i update using the creative cloud app nothing happens, it detects some of my products needs updating and when i click update and it verifies that all of my adobe apps are up to date, and i open up lets say photoshop, when i click around to see the new features, none of them are present..... The update had no effect, and when i check the product version of Photoshop, it says version 14.0 instead of 14.1....what's going on?....and creative cloud app says im up to date.

T61 System Update changes Product Type and Product ID

Product ID: 6464-V52
I try to make system update but System update shows instead of 6464-CTO Product ID V52 is this a mistake?
Now I want to make Bios update, there I can change it from V52 to CTO should I ?

There are othere small Problems like battry is everytime 99% and sundly emty, and my notebook gets off. I would like to send it to Lenovo but I bought my Notebook in UK live here in Germany. Must I send my Notebook to UK? or where ?

Just updated papi jump (good free app). So far when i updated apps it would put them at the end of my apps and i would have to move them back to where they were before. this time with 2.1 it updated then put itself back where it was before. Is this new to 2.1 or was my phone playing up before. Also does the 3G icon seem different or is it just me.

Settings>Store...tap the ID shown...sign out...sign back in with the ID you want to use.
Note: Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID used to originally obtain them. They cannot be updated using any other Apple ID other than the one they were originally obtained with.

Dynamic Help File To Change Brand & Product Name. How To Do Please?

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. We have a help file that is created and we have companies that want to OEM (white label) our product. One of the challenges is that the help file thus needs to become dynamic to update brand and product name references. Can someone tell me how can we go about this in RoboHelp please. The program that initiates the help file can obviously write to a file so possibly this is an option.

Hi,
Letting an application edit files to change names and terms looks like an ugly solution, apart from any difficulties that arise (such as rights on directories and files). I think it's best to create a separate output (one project, multiple webhelp outputs) each specified for the client.
To do this, I can come up with three usefull features:
1. CBT's: look into conditional build tags. With these, you can keep topics/text/etc out of certain outputs.
2. Variables. In RH8, you can create multiple sets of those (same variable, different value) and use the separate sets for separate outputs.
3. Multiple style sheets. In RH8, you can select which style sheet you want to use for your topics when you create the webhelp. You can create a separate style sheet for every different brand and use those style sheets when you output your files.

I Want to set up an external drive to update changes only when same name files are dragged from desktop can any one help?

That's still a little ambiguous. What recording software are you using?
Usually the individual sound files in a music project file are included in a separate folder. For example, GarageBand normally hides these files inside a single Project file in the Finder, but you can right-click and Show Package Contents to see the individual audio files.
Any of those backup utilities I mentioned will be smart enough to copy the new and changed files within the project file. In the Terminal these .band files are actually directories, just like .app Applications in the Finder are actually directories. I think Finder may actually handle it properly also, but I'm not really sure what the Finder will do when you re-copy a GarageBand project folder to an existing backup copy and only some of the audio files have changed.

Try the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update, select 'View update history' in the left hand pane and then select 'Installed updates' link in the following window.
Locate update KB2962407, right click it and select Uninstall. When done, restart the notebook, open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update and select 'Check for updates'. You'll see the update you just uninstalled being offered again - right click and select 'Hide Update'.
After this you may or may not need to delete and reload the Audio driver - if you do, the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the document on the link below.

Changing the name and path of Targets, Exec, Products, etc

I want to change the name and path of the Products, Targets, and Executables, but the text box in the 'info' window won't let me edit, and the choose buttom is grayed out.
Any ideas?

I just did this yesterday... and it's fairly confusing trying to figure out what all to change.
You can change the name of your target and executable by selecting them in the "Groups & Files" list and then selecting "File -> Rename" from the menubar.
It appears as if you can also select your Product and rename it in this way too... but (in my case) doing that didn't seem to actually rename the final app that's produced.
In order to rename the actual final application I believe you must select your target click the "Info" button... in the Info window select the "Build" tab. Scroll down until you find the "Product" entry. Double-click that and change it's name. Note that you may need to change the product name for each of your build configurations (ie Debug & Release).

The update process for InDesign is broken.
Need this fixed.

It's the same issue that - apparently - has existed for YEARS.
The installer can't find a file it thinks should be named a certain way and stops trying. Even though Adobe is the part responsible for naming files.
The programmers haven't included any sort of troubleshooting scenarios in their updater. And they haven't kept up with all the ways they name files in various versions.
It's this error from the log file:
ERROR: DS015: Unable to read symlink target of source file "/Applications/Adobe Media Encoder CC/Adobe Media Encoder CC.app/MediaIO/codecs/MCMPEG4VideoCodec.framework/MCMPEG4VideoCodec"(Seq 11)
I've done all the troubleshooting of this Adobe programming issue I'm going to do.
Adobe knows about this issue and needs to update the software manager.
I'm extremely unhappy that I'm paying $600 a year for Adobe to write crap software and expect ME to troubleshoot their junk.
