App-v test deploy

Hi,
What is your best practice to test deploy a sequenced app-v 5 package?
Importing it into SCCM then deploying, uninstalling again is a hassle. Not sure if Powershell might be a good solution to this (test deploy and removal via PS, is it clean)?

How to set another instance of same live app as test app sharepoint 2013 provider hosted

Hi
I have SharePoint 2013 provider hosted app published in azure now i need to deploy another instance on same app as separate app for testing purposes, i have created another site in azure and done all profile adding packaging the app with visual studio to
deploy .App file to SharePoint catalog. problem is that .app file is same name and when i going to add, it replace with same version witch deploy as live instance.
Any one can give solution how to handle this greatly appreciated ...

Hi Radika,
According to your description, there is already an app deployed in your site, you want to deploy another instance of it to the same site for testing purpose.
As a common practice, when developing an app, for not overriding the previous version, it is recommended to create another project for testing used only with another
name.
By doing this, we can keep the development in the testing project, when it is done, migrate the newly customization to the original project and deploy it with a new
version number.

Error during test deployment

We are getting the following error during a test deployment and cannot install the app we built.
Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CF3, Package failed updates, dependency or conflict validation.
Windows cannot install package Test2 because this package depends on another package that couldn't be found. This package requires minimum version 1.0.9600.16408 of framework Microsoft.WinJS.2.0 published by any publisher to install; the frameworks with
name Microsoft.WinJS.2.0 available to the user are Microsoft.WinJS.2.0_1.0.9600.16384_neutral__8wekyb3d8bbwe. Provide the correct framework along with this package.

I have tried updating the computer but I can't seem to find the correct file to install to make this error go away. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Dracodoom, we haven't seen such error before and can't reproduce it here. To help us troubleshoot, can you please describe your configuration? More specifically:
- Are you deploying on Windows 8.1?
- What locale does the deployment target machine have (English, German, etc)?
- Can you copy/paste the contents of the log generated by the deployment script? You these hints from the error message: NOTE:

Windows 8.1 Enterprise - update 1, x64bit with latest updates installed.
I am having a similar problem to thread (Sysprep
and Windows 8.1 -- missing Metro apps after reboot?). Although slightly different so starting a new one. Not missing however a set of them do not install completely and display "error - this app cant install". Certain windows
apps fail install, mail, video, We use vmware ESX 5.5 to capture our image. When I deploy the image to VMware environment, all apps install successfully, when we deploy to any laptop, certain apps
fail to install. They display X beside them. The workaround is to sign into windows live account and install them.
I do have a custom start layout installed via a deploy task sequence (using command POWERSHELL -NonInteractive -Command Import-StartLayout -LayoutPath .\CustomStartLayout.bin -MountPath %SystemDrive%\)
Disabling the custom layout import does not solve the issue.
Any ideas?

Anyone have a sample app to test authorization?

A sample system-jazn-data , a jspx setting example would help. I have hit a road block.
I set up an app to test this out. This just has two jspxs. You click the link from one page to go to the second page which has two input fields. If the role is a "technician" I want the field to be non-editable based on PageDef settings. I confirmed that the role returned was indeed "technician."
I have set the pagedef to "read" for PositionNbr. However, when I go to that page after signing in as a technician, I can edit the field. When I hardcode the readOnly properties on the SearchInfoPos.jspx to "true," I get a readonly field. The field is not honoring the property
readOnly="#{!bindings.SimpleTestPositionNbr.updateable}"
This seems to confirm that authorization via pageDef is not working and I am missing something. This is a simple app with no other attachments. What is wrong? Anyone else have a scenario like this?
Authentication via DBtableOraDataSourceLoginModule still works as before. It authenticates and returns the roles "technician" for "DFAVIET" from APPLICATION_ROLES table on my Oracle Express schema.

Currently there isn't a book on Oracle9i Forms yet. (Except the regular documentation).
I believe that someone who will learn from the books on 6i and then will read the new features papers about Oracle9i Forms and the online help can become efficient developer.
Also if you prefer there are Oracle University courses on Forms 6i and Oracle9i Forms - These are usually the best way to learn Forms.

JavaScript error when I test deploy an html file

RoboHelp 8 HTML: If I do a test deploy (CTRL+W) of an html file that contains image maps, when I deploy the html file and click the image map, I get this:
This 'gbSafari3' appears to point to the Mac browser Safari 3, but I can't verify that. I get the same error with any html file that I do a test deploy on. The old workaround was to generate a new RoboHelp project, copy the new (127KB) ehlpdhtm.js file over the existing one, and that solved the problem. Doesn't seem to do it here.
IE 8 is my default browser, and I'm running WinXP. Thanks for any advice.

Hi charlesmoizeau, why do you want to install Firefox 18? To be compatible with a particular website or add-on? There might be a better workaround, but without the details, it's hard to say.

How do I change the context-root of a web app with a deployment plan?

I've been trying to figure this out for several hours.
I'm deploying a .ear file which sets the context root for the single web application it deploys in its application.xml deployment descriptor:

to change the context-root in an weblogic-application.xml file."
I don't understand what this means. I'm not deploying my application as a library.
Does anyone know how to change the context-root for an application?

and as soon as i click on above link it redirects me to the following one.

It means application server know that my full web access page is with '*servlet/BrowserServlet*' because its adding it in both the cases.
What I want is a constant URL whcih does not change?

Force run apps don't deploy on some machines causing zen icons toflash at intervals

I'm having a problem lately, with new apps that I'm creating (for
example Acrobat Reader 9.4) not deploying on some machines. I have them
set to force run, user associated. They appear in application explorer,
and if I manually launch them, they will install just fine. I have
conditions for availability based on version, so if the app has been
installed, it will no longer show in application explorer.
I had this happen a few months ago, and I thought it was one particular
app I had just sent out, so I just manually ran it on the affected
workstations, but now I'm seeing the same workstations having the issue.
The workstations are running the last released ZDM 7 agent, and the
Servers are Netware 6.5 SP8 patched up to the last released Zen 7
version. (I removed the existing agent and reinstalled the latest agent
HP4, msi dated 5/14/2010)
I've deleted nalcache, and that had no effect. Naldiag shows the apps
are there and passed the tests, but I think that there is actually a
problem with another app that had been previously created that is
preventing these from working.
I'm just looking for some areas to check to figure this out. I'm not
seeing any errors, it just doesn't launch the force run apps. The vast
majority of the machines run them absolutely fine.

I was waiting to post this to check one more thing, and I had to reboot
the machine. The user had gone home for the day so I logged in as a
different user and now the apps are deploying, so this appears to be
something perhaps in the registry for that user? I was afraid this
would happen.. I'll have to find another broken machine to do further
testing on.
Any ideas how to track this down? The apps that were "stuck" are new
applications, they aren't modified old applications where I would be
worried about the guid being changed or anything weird.
I'm guessing the moment I create another force run app to update
something that I am going to see the exact same problem recur.

There's nothing of interest in the logs that I can find. As for taking
things away, I thought about that as well, however when I set up a brand
new machine and install zen, all of the applications force run just fine
and install... Very odd. What makes the workstations stop blinking is
for me to remove the force run on the new apps, or manually run them.
I guess I could take away force run on all the other stuff that's
already installed, that would be rather strange for one of those to be
the culprit.

Successful VB2008, CR2008 test deployment, but have 2 questions

SDK - Visual Studio 2008
Current Status -
Successfully deployed VB2008 app with the CR2008 Runtime using "ClickOnce" to a test Windows XP client.
I had some issues with deployment and found this thread to be most helpful

Should not be an issue. CR 2008 ia able to handle framework 2.0 and higher (not 4.0)

Looks like you are missing the 'Microsoft.Data.Access.Components.2.8' runtime which is a dependency. See if the following will help:

Import Lightswitch 2013 app via IIS/Deploy wizard - fails on SQL generation - HTML client.

I've been struggeling with this for sometime now. And keep getting "An error occured during the execution of the database script..........The error occured between the following lines of the script "5963" and "5982"....DECLARE @currentUser
nvarchar(128)"
The scenario is that this is a server with no internet connection. So I had to go through webpicmd.exe on a laptop downloaded all the necessary file whith VSLS4NOSQL. Memorystick to server and then installed the prereqs.
The database server is set to Windows Auth. only and I am not allowed to set this to mixed mode. I had set up the application with ad authentication, then forms and now nothing just to test. I still keep getting the same ******* error.
I have also tested it in a dev environment but same message here.
The db gets created on the SQL server, but thats about it. Paul van Bladel mentioned something about running the script directly on the SQL server, but it keeps popping up with even more errors. If someome could please give me the babysteps on how to perform
an installation by importing a LS application and getting it up an running I would be very thankful (what I have found of information so far, doesn't help me much)

Please somebody must have experience the same thing as me here??
Here are the steps I've been doing so far
1. I create a new website in IIS (and create a new folder for my LS webapplication under inetpub)
2. Website gets created, I then under Deploy, chose import application, browse to the zip file, and then chose next.
3.Leave everything checked under Package contains...
4. Enter conncetion string, with name of SQL Server and DBname, under credentials I set it to Use Windows Integrated Security (the other options keeps failing on me)
5. Enter the name of the databaseserver again, and same with DBName
6. Under DBUserName I enter the credentials for a user I created on the SQL Server with SQL Server authentication as I can't seem to use Windows Auth. here.
7. Enter the application path (I set it here to the folder I created under inetpub).
8. The Package starts to deploy, everything seems fine. But it comes up with a warning "Cannot connect to the database 'databasename'
9. In IIS I then go to Basic Settings and edit the Physical path to C:\inetpub\path\HTMLClient, I have also edited the hostfile.
10. I start the website and browse to it, the page loads, but with a nice fat red line saying
Request failed with status code 0 and status text ".
11. In Edit Site-->Connect as --> It is set to Application user, and the AppPool for the application is set to ApplicationPoolIdentity.
12. As for now I have set no authentication in the LS app I made, but I would when I get this to work set it to Forms Based or Windows/AD auth for users in the domain.

URGENT:Testing deployed OAS EJB Aplication (JNDI Problem)

Please I need urgently help on this subject matter:
Environment:
OAS 4.0.8.2a on NT 4.5 SP5
Jdeveloper 3.1
Oracle 8R2
After succesfull deployment of BC4J aplication on OAS I want simply test it. When I click to test on the appModule on the tree, the dialog asking the connection information appears..I choose OAS option from the drop down box.
The error message I get is:
"apps/ejb/ClientesProjectOAS/pkgClientes/PkgClientesModule is not the name of a registered component"
I have tried with other variants too taking into account what OAS Administration shows..but no luck!
Now, WHAT SHOULD BE PUT TO THE "JNDI PATH" and "CLIENT JAR PATH" options. This is the most confusing point to me and there are practically no valid/good information on online help.

I have (almost) the same problem. Any idea? My weak english must be the reason, but I cannot find out what to enter into the JNDI and the Client jar path during testing my OAS deployed AppModule.

Problem testing deployment of SAP Data Source

Following the Installation Guide for SAP Data Source on Oracle iAS10g 9.0.4.0.0 on Windows 2000 Server SP4 Im stuck with error

After adding the sapds.jar and the sapjco.jar in the $ORACLE_HOME/portal/jlib and having restarted the OC4J_POrtal, we have and other error
with something like:
NOEXEC shared libraries..
It seems to be related to the SAP librairies for AIX.
Customer will upload the complete error message on metalink.
We have tried to set LD_LIBRARY_PATh and LIBPATH in the environement and in the opmn.xml for OC4J_Portal.
This didn't help.
