Import Lightswitch 2013 app via IIS/Deploy wizard - fails on SQL generation - HTML client.

I've been struggeling with this for sometime now. And keep getting "An error occured during the execution of the database script..........The error occured between the following lines of the script "5963" and "5982"....DECLARE @currentUser
nvarchar(128)"
The scenario is that this is a server with no internet connection. So I had to go through webpicmd.exe on a laptop downloaded all the necessary file whith VSLS4NOSQL. Memorystick to server and then installed the prereqs.
The database server is set to Windows Auth. only and I am not allowed to set this to mixed mode. I had set up the application with ad authentication, then forms and now nothing just to test. I still keep getting the same ******* error.
I have also tested it in a dev environment but same message here.
The db gets created on the SQL server, but thats about it. Paul van Bladel mentioned something about running the script directly on the SQL server, but it keeps popping up with even more errors. If someome could please give me the babysteps on how to perform
an installation by importing a LS application and getting it up an running I would be very thankful (what I have found of information so far, doesn't help me much)

Here are the steps I've been doing so far
1. I create a new website in IIS (and create a new folder for my LS webapplication under inetpub)
2. Website gets created, I then under Deploy, chose import application, browse to the zip file, and then chose next.
3.Leave everything checked under Package contains...
4. Enter conncetion string, with name of SQL Server and DBname, under credentials I set it to Use Windows Integrated Security (the other options keeps failing on me)
5. Enter the name of the databaseserver again, and same with DBName
6. Under DBUserName I enter the credentials for a user I created on the SQL Server with SQL Server authentication as I can't seem to use Windows Auth. here.
7. Enter the application path (I set it here to the folder I created under inetpub).
8. The Package starts to deploy, everything seems fine. But it comes up with a warning "Cannot connect to the database 'databasename'
9. In IIS I then go to Basic Settings and edit the Physical path to C:\inetpub\path\HTMLClient, I have also edited the hostfile.
10. I start the website and browse to it, the page loads, but with a nice fat red line saying
Request failed with status code 0 and status text ".
11. In Edit Site-->Connect as --> It is set to Application user, and the AppPool for the application is set to ApplicationPoolIdentity.
12. As for now I have set no authentication in the LS app I made, but I would when I get this to work set it to Forms Based or Windows/AD auth for users in the domain.

Deployment Wizard fails in 10g AS when attempting to upload an .ear file. It throws the following error:
ClassNotFoundException: ias.oc4j._deploywiz._selectAppDest
This error started when during the upload procedure I lost internet connectivity. It has happened consistently since then.
I have restarted the OC4J instances, the entire machine and even created a brand new instance of OC4J all to no avail. I can no longer deploy .ear files on an OC4J instance on the machine.
Should I just give up and reinstall the entire server?

368659, I am not sure what has happened to your 10g AS instance; can you check if you have the following file?
<ORACLE_HOME>/sysman/webapps/emd/ias/oc4j/deployWiz/selectAppDest.uix
If you has not stuck to the installation yet, reinstallation might be a better idea as the installation will be a breeze except that it takes a few minutes.

JDev 3.2 Deployment wizard failed to show public static methods in step #3.

JDeveloper 3.2 and 3.1 Deployment Wizard ( step #3) does not show any public static methods being deployed as Java stored procedures. The "settings" button is disabled.
Is this a demo version of the tool ?

It's probably easier to add them all and remove the ones you don't want. Admittedly this is a bit cumbersome, because the 3.2 navigator doesn't allow multiple selection..
(one area that's much better in 9i :) )

Connection to Oracle XE via IIS/ASP app was working then stopped

I am prototyping an application for my new management here so that I can recommend they use Oracle XE.
The connection to the Oracle XE database appears to have stopped working, via an IIS/ASP application I wrote. I can still connect through ODBC using native MS Access to Oracle XE, when logged into XP, its just when I try to log in using the app via IIS I get the following error:
Unable to establish connection to database.
Error information:

[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
It was working for a while, like the whole first week. It might be related to the fact that that I finally rebooted, not sure.
I have tried many, many things. I made the IUSR account an admin on the box hoping that maybe it had just lost access to the local ODBC/TNSNAMES. Right now all the components are local to my development box, from the IIS server to the Oracle eXtended Edition database (XE, free). Like I said, it was working. I did have this same message I believe early on, which turned out due to the fact that my ODBC DSN was a local DSN, instead of a System DSN, which I overcame at that time. But it just started happening again, possibly after a reboot.
I also tried switching to a local MS Access database, and I got a similar message. I moved the Access db to c: root, and it appears to work, so it appears to be a file/directory access issue.
But I'm not sure how to resolve it because I would much prefer to use the Oracle database.
Thoughts?

As far as the connect string goes, I'm not sure exactly what to specify to you.
I am using the default connect string that comes when you install XE.
I.e., "XE".
I suspect this might be a path issue for the virtual account that is used by IIS sessions. As you may know, when IIS runs, it logs the web user into the box using a dummy account, typically prefixed with the string "IUSR".
Although I made this account an admin to the box, I think I may need to add some of the Oracle Client directories to the path which is accessed by this IUSR account. The problem is, the acount, with its password, was set up by default and I don't know what its password is. But I think that I could try to adde Oracle's home path to the default system path, what do you think?
In other words, I don't think the XE connection libraries are available to this dummy IIS account. The strange thing is, it worked for a while, ostensibly till I rebooted.
Know also that I am not using the Oracle Client per se, although I did install it and try it with mixed results. I am just using the Oracle OLE DB ODBC that appeared when I installed the Oracle XE server itself.

and Windows 8.1 -- missing Metro apps after reboot?). Although slightly different so starting a new one. Not missing however a set of them do not install completely and display "error - this app cant install". Certain windows
apps fail install, mail, video, We use vmware ESX 5.5 to capture our image. When I deploy the image to VMware environment, all apps install successfully, when we deploy to any laptop, certain apps
fail to install. They display X beside them. The workaround is to sign into windows live account and install them.
I do have a custom start layout installed via a deploy task sequence (using command POWERSHELL -NonInteractive -Command Import-StartLayout -LayoutPath .\CustomStartLayout.bin -MountPath %SystemDrive%\)
Disabling the custom layout import does not solve the issue.

Hi, I was wondering if someone else has come across this issue. I was trying to use the SharePoint Content Deployment Wizard on SharePoint 2013. However, when I launch the product, I receive the following error: "SpContentDeployment

The load balancer is not provisioned error when attempting to deploy a SP 2013 App

Hello:
I am in VS 2013 with SP 2013 colocated on same Win 2008 R2 server. I opened a SP 2013 App and directly hit F5 and got this error:
Error occurred in deployment step 'Install app for SharePoint': The load balancer is not provisioned. Verify the load balancer was provisioned successfully before retrieving endpoint addresses. When creating the project, the first screen asks for a
site to deploy to, and I just took the default, which was http://<servername> for the colocated server.
I googled this and could not find a solution. Would anyone have any direction?

Based on the error message, this seems to be a service application not working issue.
Please check the ULS log or Event log to check in which service application the error occurs, like BCS, secure store service, app management service, then re-provision the service application using PowerShell command, or re-create the service application
from UI to check the result.

App Deployment Wizard defaults to UTC but Update Deployment wizard defaults to Client Local but Maintenance Windows defaults to Client Local

How hard is it to set Application deployment to Client Local by default also? We had a mishmash when UTC was use on deployment and Client Local for Maintenance Window. For consistencies sake maybe..

i did not get what do you mean by this ? are you talking about how to set the schedule time for application deployment to local instead of UTC ? if you make the schedule available at specific time,you get option to choose client Local time ,else it will
be UTC (if you select as soon as possible).

If you set the application deployment to UTC onto specific collection that has maintenance window,you must also choose the UTC (maintenance window) on collection properties.
By default the maintenance window is set to client Local Time ,unless you check UTC.

Suppress deployment wizard in remote site mdt 2013

i am getting deployment wizard (welcome screen) even my bootstrap.ini has SkipBDDWelcome=YES.
so i had created mdtdeployment$ share and give all necessary permission. create link in deploymentworkbench to remote share and replicate content.
when i am booting with flash drive, it connects with remote server fine because i ping server and gather.log file has rootdeploy to remote server. but i can't get rid of this welcome screen...any help thanks...

You need to update the deployment share, and replace the MDT boot image in WDS after making changes to bootstrap.ini (Note: Editing customsettings.ini for this setting is not needed).
Also, offline media (flash drive) has it's own bootstrap.ini, separate from the one in the normal deployment share.

Error while trying to publish 2013 workflow via designer. Probably a workflow manager backend user account issue?

Hello, I am getting error while publishing the 2013 workflow via designer. Also, under sharepoint designer if I try to delete any workflow then the page just refreshes and the workflow does not get deleted.
I checked the services.msc and found that the workflow backend service was stopped. (this happened as the password of the user under which this serivce was running had changed).
So, the network admin changed the service user to LOCAL SYSTEM and started the service.
Now, the workflow backend service is started. We have run the iisreset also.
However, I am still getting the same error:-

Is the error as a result of the change in service user? Can you tell me what priviledges should the account running the workflow backend service must have?
UPDATE 1:-
We have set the workflow service backend account user as farm admin and also tried to set it to site admin. The service is re-started. Now, for a new web application,
I can delete workflows. However, for existing site, I am not able to delete the existing workflows.. Also, I am not able to publish workflows (present under new and previous sites) and the error is same as described earlier.

According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error while publishing the 2013 workflow via SharePoint 2013 Designer.
As you have changed the password of this service. Please open IIS and make sure identify of the WorkflowMgmtPool is correct, you can re-type the identify. Then make this pool is started.
Open Services, find Service Bus Message Broker service and Windows Fabric Host Service. Make sure they are running. If not, firstly, start Windows Fabric Host Service, then start Service Bus Message Broker service. If Service Bus Message Broker service is
started, stop and re-start it.

Office 2013 VL Local Install with Project and Visio 2013 App-V

Is it supported to have a local install of Office 2013 and deploy a virtual package for Project and Visio 2013 (created via ODT) using App-V 5.0 SP2?I cannot find any reference in the various support articles.

Office 2013 app-v packages

In this article, http://blogs.windows.com/itpro/2013/12/02/announcing-mdop-2013-r2/   I see mention of an Office version called "Office 2013 ProPlus
App-V Package".    Is this a download? I don't see it available as one when I login to my VLSC site.
We plan to install Office 2013 pro plus VLA LOCALLY (on C:) in our vdisk for virtual machines, but will want to stream Visio,Project,Access 2013 to our users' VMs, using App-V.    (We used to use Citrix XenApp to stream them)
In the Citrix world, "streaming" is the opposite of Publishing or Hosting (running the app ON the server). Streaming means it copies over the files to the user's C: drive on their VM when they launch the appl.

As far as I know, Microsoft Office 2013 App-V packages are created by using the Office Deployment Tool (ODT). The created packages may have Subscription Licensing or Volume Licensing.
You need to download Office applications through the ODT first, then convert it into an Office 2013 App-V package with ODT tool.

According to this message, it can be caused by that there is not enough memory available or the buffer size is too small. To resolve this issue, I recommend you perform the following steps.

11.0.0.4 Update still promting for update at clock even when disabled via GPO customization wizard

I have custiomized the Adobe Reader 11.0.0.4 msi to disable any updating feature available . This is the same as the previous versions which have worked faultlessly. This time when i have deployed 11.0.0.4 it does install on the windows machine but still prompts beside the clock with an icon and message saying would you like to install the update? if i click it it then fails as its already installed. i do not want any user to see this message especaily when that version is already running on the machine! Please see below for further informaiton, Appriciate any help resolving this issue.

After some on-going discussions with Product Managers, they don't believe this is expected behavior in the 3 questions (q4), (q5) and (q6).
I have so created 3 new bugs for Development evaluation as no answer or known issue found.
I have created a spin-off SR for each question/bug as per our policy we handle only one issue/bug per SR.
You can follow each question/bug progress in the following SRs :
