  • Error (WIS 10901) while creating a webi report against SAP data source

    Hi,
    While creating a webi report against a universe created using Infocube/Bex query (basically SAP data source) get a error message -
    A database error occured. The database error text is: A runtime exception has occured. (License key check failed. Check that you are licensed to access SAP data sources). (WIS 10901).
    Any clues whether this is a license issue or something else?

    I am having the same problem.  I checked and double checked everything, including deleting and recreating the Universe and the Connection.  No improvement.  On a whim, I deleted the hierarchy from the query on which the Universe was based, and recreated the Universe on the query without the hierarchy.  The problem went away.
    Now, the question is, why do I get the WIS 10901 error when a hierarchy is present in the query/Universe?

  • How to select from multiple output tables in the SAP Data Source

    Hi,
    We're using the SAP Data Source to display SAP data in our portal from the Bapi: BAPI_INFORECORD_GETLIST. When defining the Bapi Meta Data we can select data from one of the two output tables (INFORECORD_GENERAL and INFORECORD_PURCHORG). But we want to select data from both tables (some columns we want to show are in INFORECORD_GENERAL and some are in INFORECORD_PURCHORG) .
    How can we do this ?
    With regards,
    Ramon van der Weiden

    You can query multiple TimesTen databases, but your original question was about joining tables from two databases, which is not supported.
    Using Cache Connect to Oracle to query an Oracle database is not distributed. It's still one single Oracle database you are querying. You cannot join a table in the TimesTen database with a table in the Oracle database, this is not allowed.
    If you are willing to share your business requiremens, we can take a look and see what solution might work for you. Would you like to discuss this offline?

  • SAP Data Source for OmniPortlet available for download

    What are we Announcing ?
    The beta release of SAP Data Source for OmniPortlet.
    SAP data source for OmniPortlet makes it easier than ever before to integrate SAP R/3 systems with Oracle Application Server(OracleAS) Portal. With the new SAP data source, one can easily build SAP portlets including search for BAPI Function Modules and Business Objects, configuration of appropriate input and output parameters, filteration criteria, desired views and layouts, portlet personalization, and even portlet-to-portlet communication using parameters and events.
    How can I use it?
    SAP Data Source is a plugin data source for OmniPortlet. You can connect to any SAP R/3 server and declaratively build SAP portlets with ease. In addition to all the basic features of OmniPortlet, SAP data source leverages OracleAS Portal External Application for secure access to the SAP R/3 instance. SAP data source comes as a zip file, with very simple steps to configure. Learn more about this data source from http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDKRELEASE2/PDKHOME902/SAMPLES/SOLUTIONS/UPLOADAREA/SAPDS/VIEWLET/SAP_DS_VIEWLET_JAN05_VIEWLET_SWF.HTML
    How do I get it?
    This data source is available through the Portal Integration Solutions page on Portal Studio. You would be asked to enter your OTN user details to download the data source.
    Portal Integrations Page: http://portalstudio.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=3191&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO

  • Problem to choose SLD as DATA Source on SMSY.

    Hi all,
    I have installed the Solution Manager system 7.0 ehp1. I have problem to choose  u201CSLDu201D as DATA Source on HeadData I can just choose u201CTMS/FRCu201D. Is it possible to add SLD to DATA Source list.
    I did start batch job on SMSY_setup and That working correcet. But I have just u201CTMS/FRCu201D On Data Source list..
    Can anyone please help we this?
    I am really going nowhere!!!!!!
    Regards

    If you are adding the system manually to the SMSY, then the data source cannot be SLD. Only systems which are updated from the SLD will have the datasource as SLD.
    If you setup the SLD, and then connect the SLD to solution manager the SMSY can then be updated from SLD.
    Also, with SP18 & SP19, the way the system landscape is updated has changed. The Program RSGET_SMSY reads from SLD, then from TMS/RFC. so if something is different between SMSY and the satellite system it is overwritten in SMSY and since the last data which is read will be from RFC, then the data source is TMS/RFC.

  • Oracle BI Apps with SAP data sources

    What is the delivered content provided by Oracle BI Apps to map with SAP data sources?
    Thank you!

    As things stand right now SAP R3 is only supported on a much older release of BI Apps (7.8.4). That release used the Informatica SAP PowerConnect technology to populate the Warehouse.
    I posted before on this forum the list of supported SAP Modules.
    BI Apps cannot use SAP BW. BW can be a direct data source for BI EE however.
    In the near future our support for SAP will be up to date and back on track. There are internal efforts underway that I cannot discuss here in the forum.

  • Crystal Report 2011- SAP Data Sources: CL - no items found

    Background:
    SAP ECC 6.0 was purchased three years ago with DSD package. Only FI and SD modules are in use. Accounts download data filesfrom SAP to produce spreadsheet reports. Few user trust these numbers. We are setup as "SAP in the Cloud" model- Listening to constant user complaints, it seems SAP is broken. Interim solution: Crystal Report for everyone.
    Encouraged by Ingo Hilgefort papers and Crystal Report Forum:
    We decided to deploy Crystal Report 2011 and Business Object XI 3.1 with SP4 for our small user community. These software are installed on local XP laptop and Business Object XI 3.1 installed in the SAP server as well.
    Problem Description:
    The desktop user cannot see SAP infosets or tables contents. When connect to the data sources. After user login, she can navigate to expand the data source CL.- displays "no items found ". I can reproduce this error. Using the Crystal Report wizard and selecting various data sources such as: SAP Table, Cluster and Functions: CL, DD and FN category only DD and FN display items.
    Current Environment: SAP in the Cloud.
    SAP Server::ECC 6.0 EhP3 dual stack. Database MSSQL, OS 2008 Server, Business Object Intergration Kit 3.1, Remote Acces VPN.
    Desktop Environment: Crystal Report 2011: SP1, Business Object Xi 3.1, XP SP3
    Surprise: Clicking on either DD and FN tab inside the connector window in Crystal- it expands and displays tables and content reference but not CL.
    Questions: Do we have to move to EhP5 for the CRX 2011 to work ? What is wrong: ? Any help will be appreciated?
    This question is for Ingo H. How to convince SAP hosting company otherwise to solve our problem ? Is is desktop problem or Host side configuration ?

    Ahmad
    K900687 is Open SQL Connectivity transport and required for direct SAP tables connectivity, so you need it, but I am not sure if the warning message relevant to your problem. Sometimes warning is just a warning.
    You can see other objects in DD, but not in CL, it means the connection works. You probably do not have required authorisations to see objects.
    I would suggest to review the Authorisation section of SAP Integration Kit Installation Guide here:
    [http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000559912010E/xi31_sp3_bip_sap_inst_en.pdf ]
    You may also check what is the differences between DD and CL in terma of authorizations.
    If you think CR 2011 is broken, then test CR 2008. Is still available for free 30-days trial download here:
    [http://www12.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/freetrials/index.epx]
    , but you would need to add SAP Integration Kit to it.

    Hi,
    As stated by Tug, you will have to provide the value in the external application screen itself. There is no other way to drive it. So you need to go to your external application, edit it & enter the correct systemId. Once done with this, you might want to click the external application link to test your entered details.
    If still not able to get this to work, I'd suggest that you create a fresh external application by entering the correct systemId.

    Hi!
    Some information: I found this website [http://gerardnico.com/doc/odi/webhelp/en/refmanual/connexion/jdbcdriversample.htm] explaining that the 'old' snpsFile.jar driver was deprecated and that a new one was existing... but I can't find it anywhere!
    My questions are:
    - Can the problem (original problem. See initial post) be due to driver version?
    - Does someone know where to find this 'new' driver?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Why do I get timeout when deploying SQL Server data source in Weblogic Admin Console?

    Hi all
    I'm attempting connectivity between WLS 10.3.6.0 and SQL Server 2008R. I've downloaded sqljdbc4.jar and added to the end of the Weblogic Classpath in commEnv.cmd. Then I set up a data source in Admin Console and pressed the Test Data Source button - success. But when I tick the box to deploy to AdminServer it hangs for ages and I get timeout exception.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks
    James

    Make sure the web server settings between the QA and the Production servers are also compatible.
    I suspect your suspecion about permissions is the closest to the answer.  But this is a little out of my depth of expertise.
    Realize that ColdFusion default behavior is to NOT generate and actual swf FILE.  Rather what it does is generate the swf content in memory and directly deliver it to the client.  But if the web server is configured to look for an actual file system file you may have a clash going on

  • Problem during extraction using generic data sources

    Hi
    While performing extraction(master data)  using generic data sources I am getting a problem.
    while selecting application component, I am unable to find SD to select it.What should I do?
    I selected CRM as application component and did the extraction , it is successful.
    But what about if we want to select SD? I am guessing it as an installation problem ... Anyone plz help me
    Thank you
    Deepthi

    Hi Deepthi,
    Looks like the RFC connection between source system and BW system is broken..
    Contact your basis team to check the connection what went wrong.
    once the connection is re-established you can gohead ...
    Try out this procedure
    Type Transaction SM59.
    a.) Open the RFC Destinations.
    b.) Find your Source System and double click on it.
    c.) Technical setting should contain information regarding your source
    system
    d.) Logon Information should contain source system client and name &
    password for you remote logon.
    **Suggestion : our remote name for our R/3 was ALEREMOTE. We use
    BWREMOTE so that we can monitor without confusion.
    e.) Execute your 'Test Connection' & 'Remote Logon'. You connection
    should be You should NOT be prompted for a password.
    f.) Repeat above to verify RFCs for other systems
    regards

  • SSRS CatalogItem method not working for deploying a shared data source

    I have been working with the SSRS CreateCatalogItem method to deploy reports to a SSRS 2012 in SharePoint integrated mode with SharePoint Server Enterprise 2013. I am using Powershell. The CreateCatalogItem method works fine when I deploy RDL files,
    but fails when I deploy an RDS. I get an rsInvalidXML1400 error, whatever that is. Here is a cut-down version of my code to establish the bare essentials:
        [String] $reportserver = "server20";
        [String] $url = "http://$($reportserver)/sites/AdventureWorks/_vti_bin/reportserver/reportservice2010.asmx?WSDL";
        [String] $SPFolderPath = "http://server20/sites/AdventureWorks/BICenter/Data%20Connections/";
        [String] $fileFolder = "C:\SiteBackups\BIReports\BIReports\";
        [String] $itemName = "AdventureWorksCube.rds";
        $ssrs = New-WebServiceProxy -uri $url -UseDefaultCredential;
        $warnings = $null;
        $itemPath= $($fileFolder + $itemName);
        $definition = get-content $itemPath -encoding byte;
        try
            $ssrs.CreateCatalogItem("DataSource", $itemName, $SPFolderPath,$False,$definition,$null, [ref] $warnings);
        catch [System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException]
            $msg = $_.Exception.Detail.InnerText;
            Write-Error $msg;
    I have a workaround whereby I read the XML of the data source file directly and extract the ConnectString and Extension elements then use the text within them to create the data source using the DataSourceDefinition class. My point is not to get a workaround.
    I want to establish that the CreateCatalogItem method indeed does not work when used with the ItemType "DataSource". In the code above, if I change the itemType i.e. first parameter of CreateCatalogItem to "Report" and change the $itemName
    to the name of an RDL file, it deploys correctly. Has anyone else encountered this behavior or am I doing something wrong here?

    Hello,
    We can invoke the SSRS proxy endpoint (ReportService2006.asmx)from PowerShell to publish report definitions (.rdl) and report models (.smdl) to a SharePoint library, but this does not apply to data source (.rds) files.
    In order to deploy .rds to SharePoint library without using SSDT, you should convert the .rds file to its .rsds counterpart which is pretty contains same content but in different schema.
    If you want to fully automate your deployment, you should write your own converter and perform the deployment by utilizing SharePoint feature framework and SSRS proxy endpoint (ReportService2006.asmx).
    Please refer to the following blog about this issue:

  • How to get a EAR package for deploying without local data-source setting in JDev9i?

    Hi all,
    I want to use pooled data-sources defined in OC4J's global configuration setting directory in JDEV_HOME\j2ee\home\config.
    But when I packaged my application to an EAR file,it contains it's local data-sources.xml file in the package.Each time the server was restared,the local data-sources.xml file was overwritten by the originally setting in the EAR package,thus I cannot use the pooled settings.
    So could let me know how to package a EAR file without containing it's local data-source setting,but use the global data-source setting?Or how to control the local data-source setting without changed after mannully defined.
    Your reply is greatly appreciated!
    Regards,
    Robbin Woo

    Mike,
    You don't need a File to do what you want. Even if you could, it would be wrong to use a file.
    It would be wrong, because the compiler might not by using a JavaFileManager that is actually backed by a filesystem. It could be backed by some form of repository such as a database, or it could be backed by a transient in memory file system ( An example of the latter is the [annotation processor test framework|https://hickory.dev.java.net/nonav/apidocs/index.html?net/java/dev/hickory/testing/package-summary.html] in hickory)
    But probably of more interest to you, you don't need to because you can simply [get an InputStream|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/tools/FileObject.html#openInputStream()] from the FileObject returned from [filer.getResource(...)|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/annotation/processing/Filer.html#getResource(javax.tools.JavaFileManager.Location,%20java.lang.CharSequence,%20java.lang.CharSequence)] and read it.
    You might also find the [Compiler Tree API|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/jdk/api/javac/tree/index.html] useful. The Compiler Tree API is available to annotation processors running in Oracle's (Sun's) javac, but not in other compilers (possibly limiting portability).
    With this API you can [convert |http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/jdk/api/javac/tree/com/sun/source/util/Trees.html#getPath(javax.lang.model.element.Element)] the Element representing the annotation to a Treepath then [get the leaf node|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/jdk/api/javac/tree/com/sun/source/util/TreePath.html#getLeaf()] and from that tree [obtain its offsets|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/jdk/api/javac/tree/com/sun/source/util/Trees.html#getSourcePositions()] within the source file.
