AppFabric error 1605

I am trying to install sharepoint but something strange happens. I used the PrerequisiteInstalation and all the components were installed correctly, then i tried to install sharepoint but a message says that appfabric isn't configured correctly. I tried
uninstalling appfabric with no luck, an error has occurred is what i get. i use the PrerequisiteInstaller and i get the same thing that all the components are installed correctly.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. In all my searching for this problem, Yerger's was the only one that made much sense. And it worked! I no longer get an error when I open Outlook, and now I have my thesaurus back in Word!.
I suspect it will also fix the problem I was getting sometimes in Word that some kind of proofing tools were not available (although that was intermittent so I can't really tell for some time.)
Your solution was easy to follow and I like the explanation. I am usually suspicious of making changes to the registry based on an unknown person's suggestions. With this I could easily see that it was the relevant key.
For those not sure how to edit their registry: From the Start Menu, select Run, and type in regedit

Help!-Error 1605-But I can't find QT components to uninstall

Hi all,
I uninstalled QuickTime because the program was corrupted. I had to do the uninstall manually because ADD/REMOVE programs would not work. Now, when I try to install QuickTime (standalone player), I'm asked if I want to uninstall all components. Whether I click "yes" or "no", I get Error 1605, that says there are no components to uninstall and the installation is stopped. I've searched my program files and registry and removed what QT components I can find. I restart the computer any time I find something to remove. However, I still can't install because the installer continues to want to uninstall. I've checked the Microsoft site, used the uninstall clean-up, and tried other fixes but nothing works. I don't know where else to look for QT components. Are there special "names" under which components may be listed? According to all my searches, no QT components remain. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm out of ideas totally. Thanks.

Have you tryed this? Open the Folder Options control panel, click on the View tab. Scroll down to-Use simple file sharing[Recommended] and uncheck it, this will give you a Security button in case you need to use permissions later.
Also while in there put a dot in-Show hidden files and folders. I'm not sure if it requires a restart for the changes to take effect.
Now when you go to Start>Search>For files and folder>All files and folders, click on More advanced options and put checks in the boxes for, Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, search subfolders.
Just for further info the uninstaller for QT7.1 is, QuickTimeUninstaller_ico located in C:\Windows\Installer\{C21D5524-A970-42FA-AC8A-59B8C7CDCA31}.
Not sure if the same series of numbers are on your computer.

'Error 1605 occurred while installing NI-PAL 1.6.1f0 engine' installing NI-VXI.

When installing NI-VXI software I get the error 'Error 1605 occurred while installing NI-PAL 1.6.1f0 engine'. I uninstalled everything and then copied the installation files to my hard drive but the error still occurs. This seems to prevent Windows from installing the driver for my MXI card. Any ideas of what is going wrong?

Something you may test to see is if the VXI driver may be corrupt, what you could do to test it is download NI-VXI version 3.3.1. This should check if it's the driver, or the system. Something you may also try, is to download another driver that will install NI-PAL. I think the VISA driver may install it. It's a relatively small driver, and you may give this a try to see if it can setup Measurement and Automation Explorer for you. This is where you can find the latest NI-VISA driver.

Software Install Failures - Error 1605

I have been trying to install a .msi and I have been getting many failures...the latest error being 1605. The permissions on the share and folder are correct as it does install properly on some machines. I first started with a small test
group and was able to get it to install on the few machines in the group properly. Then the .msi was updated a couple time so I did a re-deploy each time so these test machines would get the new version. They seemed to get the new version
properly. Now I am getting this error 1605 with new machines that I add to the group. Anyone know how what is happening here?

You can delete it. This is why I suggest individual GPOs for each MSI

Install Error 1605

I previously installed Premiere Pro CS4, then I had to do a system restore which apparently wiped out the installation. Now when I tried to install it again, an error message 1605 appeared and it said "This action is only available for products that are currently installed." I have disabled both the virus protection and firewall as suggested, rebooted the computer, etc. and I still cannot install the product. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hp Support Assistant error 1605

Hello,the problem is the following:
- I have installed the HP Support Assistant v 7.0
- Upon installation, Assistant stopped working.
- Every time I try to launch the Assistant, it stops working and shuts down (the software has stopped working, checking online for solutions...)
- I have, then, downloaded the latest HP Support Assistant from the "Get drivers, software,firmwork" section for my laptop support (sp68201, 35.9 MB)
- I have proceeded to install the latest HP Support Assistant.
- At the start of installation, I got the 1605 error
- I have uninstalled HP Support Assistant with the Microsoft FixIt tool (from another post here at the forum for install/uninstall)- I have successfully uninstalled HP Support Assistant and deleted all remains of it (Support Framework folder in (x86) of Hawlett Packard folder)- I have then went on to install it again (the latest HP SA)- Same error, couldn't install- I have downloaded the 4.1.11.3 version of HP SA- That version downloaded and installed successfully.- I launched 4.1.11.3 and everything worked fine- I then proceeded to install latest version of HP SA- It uninstalled 4.1.11.3 and went on to install the softpaq- Again the same error 1605Solutions tried:

Furthermore, why does my laptop shutdown everytime I close the lid. Even if I put it to sleep before closing the lid, it will still shutdown and take long to power back up. However, if I shut it down normally, it boots up fast. Whatever I do, it will shutdown. I have checked all the power options, everything is on sleep (what closing the lid does,change when computer goes to sleep....it's on high performance power plan).
I am an advanced PC user with knowledge in C and Python but this is bloody impossible to solve.Please help.

VersaMail Install error 1605

I have a TungstenE connected to a XP-Pro PC and everything was fine until I had to rebuild my account on the PC. I've installed Palm Desktop and the latest Pocket Mirror but I can't install VersaMail. When I try launch the install program, it recognizes that Versamail has been installed and gives options to remove or reinstall. Either choice results in the same error message #1605 - only valid for products already installed. I used the Windows add/remove programs to remove Versamail and I still get the same error. Any Ideas?

Hello!
Go to Microsoft's website and get the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to uninstall the Versamail off the computer. Most likely you will need to reinstall Palm Desktop afterwards. Please be CAREFUL when using this application and ONLY use it to remove programs that fail to uninstall. Afterwards, restart the PC and try to install again. Hope this helps!

Exchange 2007 database won't mount due to MapiExceptionCallFailed errors

A server is running Exchange Server 2007 SP2 on Windows Server 2008 64-bit. After a couple years of running smoothly, the Windows Application event log started filling up with several instances every minute of the following error:
MSExchangeIS (2644) First Storage Group: A bad page link (error -327) has been detected in a B-Tree (ObjectId: 5, PgnoRoot: 10) of database H:\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Mailbox\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database.edb (165296 => 3185, 817790).
Messages sent to a specific mailbox on the server started getting returned as undeliverable with the message:
#550 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Deliver: The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service reported an error. The following information should help identify the cause of this error: "MapiExceptionCallFailed..."
I assumed that the event log messages and the delivery errors were related so I ran "eseutil /d" on the database but it exited with the message, "Operation terminated with error -1605 (JET_errKeyDuplicate, Illegal duplicate key) after 76.578 seconds. Running
eseutil /mh reports the database state as clean shutdown.
The Exchange database had been backed up nightly using Windows Server 2008 Backup. I restored the latest backup of the .edb file. Unfortunately, the corruption behind the bad page link error seemingly had propagated through the backups because the restored
.edb file had the same issues.
I then attempted to create a new clean database with the goal of then transferring mailbox data from the old to the new as described in the article "Simplifying the Dial Tone Database Recovery Process in Exchange 2007" (http://blogs.technet.com/b/dhardin/archive/2009/08/25/simplifying-the-dial-tone-database-recovery-process-in-exchange-2007.aspx).
I successfully created the new storage group and database with empty instances of all mailboxes but attempts to mount the old database yield this message:
Error: Exchange is unable to mount the database that you specified. Specified database: FASTMAIL\NewStorageGroup\Mailbox Database; Error code: MapiExceptionCallFailed: Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=-344)
I then tried to return to the initial state of having a corrupted database but one that would at least function temporarily for all but the one broken mailbox. The idea would be to instruct individual users to run the Outlook archive command to back their
messages up locally into .pst files. Unfortunately, all attempts to mount the original .edb file yield the same MapiExceptionCallFailed error. I also tried to mount the database after deleting the transaction log files.
I searched the web for information on this error. There are some pages describing similar errors such as "hr=0x80004005, ec=2417" but I could not find any for "ec=-344". Some articles recommend running IsInteg.exe but this utility only works for databases
that are already mounted and I am unable to mount the database.
The Exchange server is running again using the empty database so that the users can at least send and receive mail. I get the sinking feeling that all hope is lost and the historical mail data that was stored on the server is gone for good. Before I face
the pitchforks of the angry mob, I figured that I would at least post an inquiry on an Exchange-related forum.
Are there any other steps I should take to try to recover the old data?

have you checked the health of the database using eseutil /mh "edbfilename.edb" ?
is the state: Clean Shutdown ?
If it is in clean shutdown state, then move the old logs, chk, .jrs files and select the option "This database can be overwritten by a restore" and mount the database.
In case if your database is not in clean shutdown state then you would need to work towards getting the database to clean shutdown using any of the following strategies based on the criteria that the database is affected with !
1. soft recovery
2. Hard Recovery
3. Hard repair

Expresscache 1.3.0 install/uninstall error

I uninstalled Expresscache 1.3.0, but when I try & re-install, it trys to uninstall again, gets to 15% & then fails with error 1605 (see attached image). I've also tried re-installing 1.2.1 & updating, but it fails with the same error. The original installation of 1.3.0 was done via the update function in Expresscache. Try this:
look under: C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache
if it is empty:
1. Reboot your system.
2. Go under:
for 64bit system: C:\Program Files (x86)\SanDisk\
for 32bit system: C:\Program Files\SanDisk\
3. Delete the ExpressCache folder
4. open the registry: run regedit.exe
5. Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SanDisk\
6. Delete ExpressCache
7. Run ExpressCacheSetup. It should install.
if it not empty:
8. Open Programs and Features
9. Uninstall ExpressCache (not ExpressCacheApp)
10. Now go to step 1. (reboot your system)

SAP Business One Client Stuck While upgrading

Hi Experts,
I have successfully run the upgrade 8.8 patch leve 8 on the server(windows 2003). The server also had the client installed.
As usually we opened up the client for autoupgrade, it seems like it was taking too much time to upgrade and it looked like the client upgrade got stuck.
So we ended the task(The client icon on the desktop disappeared the next moment. ) and tried to upgrade the client using the B1share folder.
We get the messages like Error 1605: This action is valid only for currently installed products . when i say okay
Error:Number:0*80040702
Description: Failed to load Dll; Creator dll
Next i have also tried to uninstall from add\remove programs, then it says
error 1628: failed to complete installation.
Please let me know how to solve this problem.

Im having the same problem after i tried to upgrade my version to SBO 8.8 PL 08. Ive also tried to run the fix mentioned in sap notes 1408662. To no luck, i still cant access my SBO client. Whenever I try to access the client I get this message - "The B1 upgrade failed to locate the setup file needed for the upgrade".

Error 1605 is usually a disk space error. If disk space is not the problem, the error was generated by a corrupted installation/uninstallation of that product in the past. Continue installing other products. After the installer finishes, browse the CD and go into the folder of the driver that failed during the installation. Run the individual installer for each driver that failed.

Unable to load or uninstall Photoshop Elements 11 or Premier Elements 11

Not sure what happened, both Photoshop Elements 11 and Premier Elements 11 were working properly.
Now, trying to launch Photoshop Elements 11 gets error message Elements Organizer - Photoshop Elements cannot start or continue because of missing file(s). Please reinstall.
Attempting to reinstall Elements 11 gets error message Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\Windows\Installer\Adobe Photoshop Elements 11.msi
Trying to launch Premier Elements 11 gets message Configuration Error. Please uninstall and reinstall the product. Error: 1
Uninstall of Elements 11 appears to progress normally, but uninstall ends and install begins, error message is Setup Error 2755. Server returned unexpected error 1605 attempting to install package D;\Adobe Premier Elements 11\PRE 64\Adobe Premier Elements 11.msi

This sounds like my problem actually. Same Error message anyway. However, I don't know German. Might I request it to be translated to English please?
Essentially I have had a problem with CS4 for a while now. I had installed a licensed copy on my system, which at the time had Windows Vista, but I don't remember the original install date. It worked fine for a while then it just vanished, and I was unable to open the program. It did however leave like a registry key on the system so that it showed up in the Programs and Features. However everytime I went to uninstall it, it would in fact be back there after restarting the computer. I had heard Adobe puts something like that in their trial versions to keep people from reusing the trial version without purchasing the full product. I can understand this but why did my licensed copy have this as well?
Then whenever I would try to install it again, I would get the error 1605. I just recently upgraded to Windows 7 and just tried to reinstall it. It installed but not fully apparently. I got the message "Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack _x64" Error 2". Is there any kind of fix for this? Id prefer an easy one but I'll take what I can get. Thank you.

Unable to install Management Tools

I am unable to install the Exchange Management Tools on my workstation. When I attempt to install, I get D:\exchangeserver.msi failed. This action is only valid for products that are currently installed. Error code is 1605.
None of the exchange components are installed. At one time, I had attempted to install it and although the install actually failed, it looked as if it had installed. The console would appear but never connect to the organization. My other workstation works
just fine, same login etc.. I couldn't even uninstall the Management tools either from the Programs applet in the control panel. I have essentially performed a manual uninstall by going through the registry and removing the installation directory on this computer.
Apparently I am missing something in the registry to finish out the uninstallation of the management tools, so I can attempt to install again. Has anyone else had this problem?
