Apple ID keeps locking me out

For the past few weeks my iPad and iPhone prompts me every few hours for my password but when I type it in (definitely no errors as I'm having to reset it almost daily) it says I have the incorrect password and have to reset it every time. I have no idea why it's doing this, I tried changing  my Apple ID email but because i only have 2 email addresses my main email is used for a backup and I cannot change it to be my main Apple id login, it's incredibly irritating because there is no reason why it should be wrong and Ive run out of passwords to use as you cannot use the same one.

This might help you:
- Go to iTunes, choose Music in the lower left conrner, scroll down on that page and log out from your Apple ID
- Double tap you home button and close all application that´s running on your iPhone
- Go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data
- Open App store, download a free application and enter/verify your information

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTunes and plug (very important)
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note: Data will be lost

  • How would an Apple fan keep unwanted images out of Photostream in IOS 8?

So Apple decides that people don't need an uncluttered thumbnail view of all photos stored in their iPhone in IOS 8. And the UI geniuses also decide that the concept of cloud (aka "server side" in 90's terms) storage and local storage is just too much for the average iPhone user to grasp.
The UI design choices that sprung from this mindset have reduced usability, efficiency, but more importantly the family friendly reputation that Apple trades on in nearly all of their marketing material.
Finding images (particularly when you have thousands) in the Years/Collections/Moments(Maps too!) paradigm is ridiculously inefficient compared to a scrolling screen with rows upon rows of thumbnails touching each other in chronological order. Of course we can quibble about whether the chronology should be based on file creation dates or EXIF metadata but those are decisions that we don't get in the IOS world (yes, another complaint). My main point here is that they had no reason to get rid of Camera Roll. Why can't it exist alongside the YCMM world of dates/locations and useless search tools? Let's face it, the new Recently Added Album is just a silly smart folder as are all the other albums. Why can't I change the 30 day date range to one of my choosing? Or why can't I add what Apple would call a Smart Album into my Albums just as I can add Cro-Mag dumb albums that need constant updating? This would bring back that good old Camera Roll functionality so people not confused by cloud vs local and like to keep track of their original image files could be happy. And the people that need Simple would be happy too.
But back to my original query. I use my iPhone for many purposes including work. I also take iPhone screenshots for work. I also take a lot of pictures and not all of those images should be in my family and sharing oriented personal Photostream. After all Apple, you sold me an Apple TV which I can fire up and share my recent life experiences with others. Why the heck would I want product photography, conference room whiteboard pics, iPhone wallpaper, and all the different images that are not the "selects" but that I want to archive using Lightroom or iPhoto anyway showing up IN MY FAMILY SLIDESHOWS? One of the benefits of digital imaging is the cheap cost of creating and storing many images. I use my iPhone often as I would a DSLR and I frequently shoot many images that are very similar, sometimes using burst mode in the phone. Why would you force me to completely delete images that are not "favorites/selects" just so I can maintain a decent slideshow via Photostream? Why do you not want me to have pleasing wallpaper downloaded via the sundry App Store wallpaper apps? Any new wallpaper I add will now be in the Photostream. Yes, family dinner with the Apple TV slideshow showing images of cars, puppies, clouds, and abstract patterns interspersed with the trip to the pool last weekend sure makes for some great viewing!
This is because you also killed the Photostream album view and I can no longer delete unwanted Photostream images unless I also want to completely delete the image local to the iPhone. If you go to the YCMM (Years/Collections/Moments/Maps) Photo tab there is no way to treat the local image separately from the cloud based Photostream image. This is absurd. You can't pitch Photostream as a lifestyle feature since you now prevent editing and curating this very audience specific collection of images. It's as if you forgot that a huge number of iPhone users are creative professionals! And we use our iPhones for professional purposes as well as personal.
Not to mention that this design choice HUGELY increases the probability of "inappropriate" photos being uploaded to the cloud and lost control over through hacking or just user misunderstanding of how iCloud and Photostream works. Amazing that Apple would do this considering the recent scandal.
So now I'll answer my own original question with a lame "workaround" answer. And yes, it involves a lot more work as opposed to the couple of touches that I used frequently in IOS 7 and earlier to curate my Photostream right on my iPhone: You have to have another IOS device (pre IOS 8) and delete the images from Photostream from there. Or use iPhoto to do the same. So add yet another task to your Reminders app that is now much more of a hassle.
Apple, for the love of Pete, please don't take away control over my source image files and my ability to create collections of images for different purposes.
    Thanks.

Excellently well put and accurate. The answer of course is that Apple want us to rent vast lumps of storage from them. Your point about appropriate images is well made. It's not just **** either but maybe legitimate images that you don't want shared out in the world, such as your wife and daughters caught on camera whilst sunbathing topless in the security of a private villa on holiday. That could prove embarrassing to them if they found their way out into the public domain, easily done by accident from a phone. The fact is that Apple have decided for pure commercial gain to take control of our means of controlling and storing our images. I shoot mainly portraits of my extended family and Landscapes. I don't want to share my images across mobiles etc, I want to sell them or give them to family members myself . Apple you are losing the plot here and alienating your core supporters.

  • Apple Itunes keeps taking money out of my account

I seem to have $1 taken out of my account atleast once a day. It says visa hold..
I tried to ring up apple, but convieniantly it's closed.
How can i stop this. If it keeps happening I want to be re-embursed!

Are you changing your credit card information? If so, then you may get a new hold every time you make a change. You may also get multiple holds if your bank's credit card processor doesn't respond to the iTunes Store quickly enough.
The iTunes Store doesn't have phone support, by the way. If the issue persists, go here:
    iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

  • MacBook keeps locking me out if I try to upgrade OS..what gives?

This is the craziest thing I have ever witnessed.  I tried to upgrade to Mavericks the day it came out.  Well, it wouldn't install on my HDD so I wiped it clean (after backing up in Time Machine of course).  When installing Mavericks I got the dreaded 6 digit pin screen. In Find My iPhone it says my MacBook was locked some 10 months ago which is odd because I've been using it all year... Anyways, I can reinstall Snow Leopard but cannot upgrade without it locking because, I believe, Montain Lion and Mavericks is tied to my AppleID.  Well, after reinstaling Snow Leopard, I removed the McBook from my iCloud account, I registered the Mac in my devices on the Apple website, and deauthorized iTunes....everything I'd do if I was to prep the machine for sale.  I thought that would work and I would setup the MacBook with my AppleID.  Well, it's not working.  This machine has never been stolen or lost as it's been mine since I purchased it.  How the heck do I go about installing Mavericks and getting back this machine!  It's very frustrating because this is my machine and everything is legitimate.  I purchased both Lion and Mountain Lion and both will lock up the Mac when installing!

Sorry for the delay.  Like many people, I got the dreaded 6 digit lockout screen when trying to wipe my HDD and do a clean install of an OS - in this case, Mavericks.  After messing around with the machine for a week, I felt defeated and took it to the Apple Store.  They were not able to boot into the machine but that's because they did not ask me about the firmware password I had on it.  Anyways, I had to step back and thnk about what was actually going on with this MacBook.  What I found out might not help many people because I feel that my issue might be more isolated than 'normal'.
I was correct in my thinking that my download of Mountain Lion and Mavericks was tied to my current AppleID and therefore would not install on my machine.  But why? I had read countless discussions of people being locked out of a MB after buying the machine used from another individual.  So I went about prepping my machine as if I were selling it.  I wanted to untie all known associations with the machine.  After returning the MB to the default 'new' state, I stumbled upon the Apple Support Profile page where I saw all of my registered Apple products BUT my MacBook. This is when it hit me what I had done.  When I purchased my MB some 3 years ago I had a different AppleID.  Because I had not known about the Apple Product Support Profile page, I had failed to switch my MB from my old ID to the newer one.  I made the switch and then tried to install Mavericks.  The machine retstarted withthe same outcome - the 6 digit screen.  I then restored to my previous backup of Snow Leopard and went back to work.  For some odd reason, installing Lion worked.  I was not able to register my MacBook in iCloud because iCloud was not part of the Lion OS.  I then got to Mountain Lion where the iCloud let me register the MB.  Lo and behold my machine was now registered to me.  Mavericks did install and it took me about a day to transfer everything from my TM backup.
I am glad that I did not give in to the Apple Store and just let them replace my logic board for $300.  Had they asked the right questions, they could have fixed my machine - albeit at a cost to me.  In the end, fixing my issue just caused me to think about what was actually going on instead of cursing Apple and their security.  So many times I read about people bashing Apple because of a problem with their device.  9 times out of 10 it's user error and just takes a slower step-by-step process and some ciritcal thinking.  Hopefully my 'solution' will help anyone out there that has similar issues.

  • ITunes Keeps Locking Out!

When I open up iTunes and start moving songs to my iPod, the iTunes program keeps locking me out. When I go to drag files over to my iPod Icon on the left panel, they start copying over... then in the middle of the transfer, the appearance of the iTunes program fonts change slightly and a small white box appear in the upper left hand corner of the program covering up "file" "Edit" and "Control."
If I go into the search panel of Itunes and typoe in anything in that box, instead of it appearing there, the text appears in the small box in the upper left hand corner.
In addition, the iPod itself never comes out of the "Do Not Disconnect" mode.
Anybody have an idea as to what is going on?

As an update, it happened twice yesterday.  Both times I attempted to make a purchase I had to verify stuff.

My grandsons new Apple refurbed 35g ipad keeps locking up with a black screen amd nothing else. I have reset it many times pressing the home and off buttons together but it keeps locking up. Help, please!

Thank you for trying to help. I followed your instructions, it took 6 hours to download, and then said it could not solve the problem (something to do with error 9?). It will have to go back to Apple - its only 3 days since it came out of the package and its very disappointing for him. Looks like I have to hang around in the Apple store in Plymouth all tomorrow until they can fix it, or will change it. Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
We are currently having an isuse where the Apps Account keeps locking and this is causing issues for out users.  We have rebooted the databases a few times and after a few minutes the Apps account will lock out again.
Is there a log file that we can view that shows what applications were accessing the Apps account at the time of this occurring?

Something keeps trying to download on my mac and I don't know what it is. It is not in the apple store and just comes out nowhere and request for my password to download something and I don't know what it is. How to make this stop? It pops up every single day.

    Erica,
I can, with 99.99% certainty, tell you that you are absolutely right in not wanting to download or install this "Helper," whatever it is (but we can be equally certain it would not "help" anything).
I cannot comment as to Oglethorpe's recommendation of 'adwaremedic'; I am unfamiliar with it.  His links to the Apple discussion and support pages warrant your time and attention.
It might be really simple -- Trying looking in your Downloads folder, trash anything that you don't know with certainty is something you want to keep, and then Secure Empty your Trash. Then remove the AdBlock extension, LastPass, and Web of Trust extensions to Safari and re-boot. If the issue goes away, still be extraordinarily careful in the future.
Unfortunately, it's probably not going to be that simple to get rid of, in which case I'd then try the line by line editing in HT203987.
I have no further suggestions (other than a complete wipe and re-install...but that's a pain because trying to restore from Time Machine would simply ... restore the Mal).
For the rest of us, please post when you find a solution.
         Best.

  • TS4036 I just uploaded the new 7 update 2 days ago and now my phone has locked me out and is saying disabled , i called verizon and the said to contact apple . it asked for my pass code but i did not remember it and tried it to many times and it is locked

help!!!!! i just uploaded 2 days ago the new 7 update to my phone , then yesterday morning , it said disabled and asked me for my pass code . I couldnt remember what it was , so after trying different ones it finally locked me out for good. how do i fix this !!!!!!?????

If your phone is disabled from entering the wrong passcode too many times you'll have to restore it to remove the passcode, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212.

  • How do I get into my iPhoto app on my Mac.  It says it's locked and when I put in my apple password it tells me it is not valid and locks me out.

How do I get into my if app?  It says it's locked and when I put i my apple password it tells me it is to valid and locks me out.  I tell it to repair it and it still doesn't work.  I never changed it and I assume it should be the same as my apple password.  Can some one please help me?

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
what is the exact message? A screenshot of the message window would suffice.
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?
