[Apple please answer this] Does iOS5 break the bluetooth functionality?
Here is some background to my question...
I have my new iPhone 4S, which can not recognize my Honda accord hands free system and also does not recognize any phones in it's proximity. The displays shows that it is "Searching...". I assume this is not at all a problem with iPhone 4S hardware as all of my friends have the same phone and they have no issues using bluetooth.
Then I have another iPhone 3GS, which I have recently upgraded to iOS 5, but never tested bluetooth functionality after the upgrade. I am certain that it worked before as I had it paired with Honda accord and also it used recognize my wife's Sony phone. This leads me to believe that it is not a harware problem but something to do with software.
I have seen enough posts on this forum regarding similar problems... but never answered. I am looking for an answer from anyone who has similar problem and fixed it.

Last night, I have updated my iPad2 to iOS5 and it has no problems with bluetooth finding the other phones in it's proximity like my wife's Sony Ericsson but not my iPhone 4S and 3GS. It sure looks like a software issue on both the iPhones. I did not get a chance to go to the Apple store yet..going there over this weekend.
Adding to Tanya's comments, I only see the bluetooth icon at the top of the screen only when I am in the bluetooth screen.

Logically, because unlike you I do not keep my cellular data on at all times as I do not have an unlimited data plan. I only turn on cellular data when I am on the go and I do not have access to a wifi network. Therefore my need for a button in control center that turns on cellular data. And this would be very usefull to other iPhone users outside the US and Canada, where unlimited cellular data plans are not so affordable.

The app developers and Apple can choose to price their product however they like. Reasons could be market conditions, costs ( legal, taxes, structure, licensing,etc), simple profit strategy, market positioning, etc. They could just decide that they need more profit. All businesses have this freedom and exercise it.

Not any more that with any other product or service you buy. Everyone prices their product/service as they see fit. the consumer can then deice to purchase or not.

i had the same problem and i fix it installing ccleaner, it is free and an excellent program. You can download it from: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
Once installed, in the tab "Herramientas" (sorry but i have it in spanish) you choose "Inicio" and them you pick CS5ServiceManager then you pick in delete option. Basically you are removing of the startup programs...

My new iPhone 5 has black and white lines on the screen. It's not been damaged. I've tried turning it off but this does not solve the problem? Please help. I can't find my answer on the Internet.
By far the most common problem hardware-wise seems to be scuffs on the aluminium. Yours is the first report of a faulty screen I've seen.
If you use the same Apple ID on both devices it'll sync whatever you want it to - music/apps/photos/messages/etc.
I've just switched from a Galaxy S3 to iPhone 5 (having already owned an iPad for a while) so I'm in a similar position! -

what are the main differences between sql and pl/sql...why v are using pl/sql rather then sql...can you please answer this question?SQL is used to access the database. PL/SQL is a programming language where SQL is seamlessly integrated. In order to access the database in PL/SQL, you have to use SQL.
Think of it as two pieces of software, two "engines". If you want to interact with the database, then performance wise it's best to use only one engine (SQL only), instead of two (PL/SQL and SQL). If a PL/SQL program executes a SQL statement, it does a "context switch", i.e. saving its state in PL/SQL before giving control to the SQL engine and vice versa. This is quite fast, but do a lot of them and it is slow, so beware of programming SQL statements inside loops.
Another way to put it: SQL is a fourth generation language (4GL) where you tell what you want, not how. The software, the optimizer, will decide for you how to process the statement. PL/SQL is a third generation language (3GL), or at least the PL-part is, where you describe how things should be processed. Leading to more code and more control. With every Oracle release, SQL becomes more powerful and the optimizer gets better, so using SQL is increasingly important.
For complex processing, using PL/SQL is still necessary. But use it with care.

Why can I not load pictures from a micro SD 64gb using scan disk adapter plugged into an Apple iPad camera connection kit. I have the iPhoto app but pictures not being seen on iPad. So incredibly frustrating. Apple please fix this.
Do you have a smaller capacity micro SD card to try? I seem to remember from past posts that users were having problems with cards larger than 32GB, however, Apple's page doesn't mention this.

Apple, please fix this bug. Sending scanned images to "Pictures" is not what I want nor what I was able to do in every previous operation system. I want to save all scanned items in a specific folder - NOT "PICTURES" Please fix this bug NOW!
I only use Image Capture, so I can't speak for other software.

Hello, I just got an iPhone 4S and it seems that the bluetooth function in it doesn't work. I tried few times to pair it to other non Apple phones but it never worked. Does anyone has an idea how to solve the problem? Tks.
This is not a feature of iPhone, iPad or iOS.
Bluetooth is supported for stereo headsets/speakers, handsfree telephone
devices/headsets, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the
app store and internet tethering where provided by the carrier.

Ipod not connecting again, apple please read this.
First let me state that I made posts awhile back about my Ipod touch not being able to be recognized by itunes at all and just as a camera by windows. Now every single guide did nothing to help and the FEW people that posted had posted things I already did that did not help.
HOWEVER the version of Itunes that was prior to the one I just downloaded connected PERFECTLY with no issues.
But I just updates and wouldnt you know it, the connection problem is BACK. Apple please read this, the last version of Itunes had something different with how it connected to the Ipod...PLEASE bring that back, its so inconvenient not being able to connect to my own Ipod
If someone wants to post a reply that might help feel free...but everything on this website and even a few others not posted here have not worked, this is mostly me praying that Apple reads it...that tiny difference on how it connected made a huge difference with my computer.Thanks. I worked out a simpler method of turning off the internet access - just switching off my wireless modem. Either way, this works and with the PC not connected to the internet, all three Apple devies will sync.
Thinking about it now, I had a similar problem a few versions ago which I recognised because with Home Sharing on and connected to the internet iTunes was trying to find files from someone in another hotel room who also sharing the hotel's wireless network. My devices would not sync then either. This seemed to be resolved with subsequent itunes upgrades until now ....
Thanks for the advice. Let's hope Apple's next 'update' actually updates itunes so it can sync Apple devices whilst simultaneously connected to the internet (not a big ask really). -
Apple, please address this issue!!! Searching and special characters
I've found at least one other topic here regarding this issue, but Apple has yet to address it, or even confirm that it's in fact an issue.
A big portion of my library consists of international artists, many who have special/nonstandard characters in their names (e.g. "Tiësto"). In previous versions of iTunes, I could search for "Tiesto" (note the absence of the umlaut over the 'e') and all of those tracks would appear. However, after upgrading to iTunes 9, I'm forced to search for "Tiësto" in order to view those tracks.
Thinking about this issue, it would seem that this is normal behavior, as an artist named "Pàz" isn't necessarily the same as "Paz". But the reality is that NO ONE wants to take the time to search for the alt-code of a special character, and then type it in. Additionally, most people (including me) have a number of reasons for not renaming the artist to conform to standard characters.
Clearly, something has changed between iTunes 8 and 9. And it's incredibly frustrating. A big chunk of my library is virtually inaccessible to me now, unless I search for terms that don't contain special characters.
Apple, **PLEASE** address this issue. I'm not the only one with the problem and it's become a huge pain in my side to have to work around this.I don't see how it's sloppy or why there should be any reason that it shouldn't have given you both.
Even putting aside that gracenote and others don't have consistent spelling in their databases, that when you download from the iTunes store, who knows what you're going to get, so that one's library could be all over the place and one might not even notice it, accents and other markings don't change the fact that a u is the same letter as ú.
Yes, it's pronounced different. Yes, the difference is very important. But it's the same base letter. And even if it's considered a different letter in another language, in English we have 26 letters and all the accents and tildes and umlauts don't make them a new letter, which is what we're talking about here.
It's a huge pain that looking for an album that has "Zürich" in the field and I type in "Zurich" I can't find it. I have to think about if I really do have that album, maybe I deleted it by accident, etc. And then I think to type "rich" and then it pops up.
That's way too many steps. I don't know keyboard shortcuts and I don't want to learn them. In English, it should be letters, not characters, that count. -

I am almost about to give up hope with this. I have posted FOUR questions with no answers, so someone please answer this one.
My iPhone 3GS has never been jailbroken. A couple of months ago now, the bottom half of my iPhone screen became unresponsive so I thought I would try to restore it to see if it would make it alright again. Worst mistake of my life. It is now stuck in recovery mode and will not come out, for anything. I have had various different error messages, i've tried everything. All the software programs, holding home and power and whatever else. Nothing. When trying to restore it, it will come to the last part of the bar and fail. Every single time. I really could do with some help on this one. If you want to change your iCloud ID or password on your phone go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated information. Note: this only deletes the account and any synced data from your phone, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts it will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.

Upgrading to IOS6 was a big, big, big mistake..... I needed the street view feature for travelling about.... What they have in now is crap !!!
