Apple Script Address Book Calling

Hopefully someone can help me because i am beating my head against the wall. I am trying to make a script that allows me to call a number in Address Book in my Avaya Softphone app. Everything works great except that all numbers need to have "9-1" or "91" before the phone number. This is needed to access the outside line and all calling requires the country code.
I can not figure out how to add the 91 to the script so that all phone numbers in the script have this added.
PLEASE HELP!
HERE IS THE CODE
HOW DO I DO THIS?
property popupEntry : "Avaya"
using terms from application "Address Book"
          on action property
                    return "phone"
          end action property
on action title for p with v
                    return popupEntry
          end action title
on should enable action for p with v
                    return true
          end should enable action
on perform action for aPerson with aProperty
set phoneNumber to value of aProperty
                    tell application "Softphone"
  dial number of phoneNumber
                    end tell
          end perform action
end using terms from

I don't have your Softphone app, so I'm assuming that the script works to the point of dialling, and it's just the '9-1' prefix you need to add, in which case it should be as easy as replacing:
set phoneNumber to value of aProperty
with:
set phoneNumber to "9-1" & value of aProperty

In Mail.app, try pulling down the File menu and select the "import mailboxes" item.
To sync your PDA, use Apple's iSinc. Info on iSync is available here ...

  • Importing Netscape's address book into Apple's Address Book application

I want to import my email Netscape email address book into Apple's Address Book application. So I open the Address Book application and select import from the pull down menu. That brings up three choices, vCards, LDIF and Text. I previously had saved my Netscape address book as a pdf file. So I selected, Text. A window appeared from which I was to select where I wanted to get the file from. I made selections until I got to where my pdf file was and selected it. But I got the following error message.
The file you selected does not appear to be a valid comma separated values (csv) file nor a valid tab delimited file, please choose another file.
So I tried again and this time I selected LDIF, but when the file in my Netscape Users Profile that would appear to be my address book came up, it was “greyed out” and I could not select it. The file had the name “abook.mab”. It is not an LDIF file. There are no LDIF files in my profile.
So I tried selecting vCards, but I got the exact same results as above. The file that looks like it is my address book, is grayed out and cannot be selected.
So I went into Netscape to see if I could export my address book into Apple’s Address Book. I chose export from the Netscape menu and a window opened asking me to select where I wanted to export the file to. But when I got to Apple’s Address Book application, it was greyed out and could not be selected. The same thing happened when I tried to select Apple’s Mail program.
I have about three hundred email addresses in my Netscape address book. If these addresses have to be manually entered into Apple's Address Book, I will not make the switch to Apple's Mail program.

Netscape's Address Book window does not have that option. The Export option is under the Tools menu, but does not give you any options in the Tools menu. Once you select Export, the Export Address Book window opens. This window does have a format option where you can select either LDIF, Comma Separated or Tab Delimited. But it doesn't matter which of those I select, Apple's Address Book and Mail applications are not available for selection.

  • Importing AOL Address Book into Apple's Address Book

    Hi everyone,
Does anyone know the best way to export AOL's address book and import it into Apple's Address Book?

  • Is there a way to use Apple Mail/Address Book/Calendar with a Microsoft Exchange Server that requires a client certificate ?

I have an Exchange server configured to require a client certificate. Is there a way to configure a certificate for Apple Mail/Address Book/Calendar ? There seems to be no option in the account settings to do that (in contrast to for example the IMAP settings).
    Any help highly appreciated !

I don't know. Try downloading the certificate and installing it in your keychain. See what happens.

  • Outlook Sync Apple Mail/Address Book/Calendar

Anyone knows if Syncing outlook's mail, calendar and address book with Apple Mail, Address Book and iCal is a possible task? I have tried it but one of the machines will ask if i want to erase all data and sync with current system (using iPhone).
What i want to achieve is to sync my work PC and my home MAC so i can constantly work from both locations without having to bring my laptop home. I like to get my work done at night and get everything ready for next day. So when i get to office, i can simply sync my calendar, tasks, and appointments and get to work without having to re-enter the data.

I don't know. Try downloading the certificate and installing it in your keychain. See what happens.

  • My iCloud account is syncing mobile me address book versus apple id address book...how can I change this?

My icloud account is syncing my mobile me address book vs. my apple id address book.  How do I change this?

You have to delete the old account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Is HP Device Manager Supporting Apple Contacts (Address Book) in OS X Yosemite when computer faxing?

    Hi,
I am trying to select best possible printer for our small office which will let us use os x's power and integritiy to do a lot with less effort. Hp Office Jet Pro X576 and 8630 look very promising to me.
As a power user, recent mac switcher I was digging hp support forums to make clear if Apple Contacts (Yosemite 10.10, former Address Book) supported in Hp Device Device Manager when Faxing. I have found some shared screenshots but no Apple Contacts icon available near fax options dialogue boxes.
Imagine that I have 4000 contacts on my mac those nearly all have fax numbers along with emails. Based on legal and business purposes faxing is essential to us. Finally, I wouldn't like to enter fax number manually every time faxing.
    Thanks

  • Address Book – 'Call with Skype' launches VMWare Fusion

Clicking 'Call with Skype' against a number in Address Book launches Fusion and starts up XP. I had the Windows version of Skype installed in XP under Fusion but have removed it using the correct Add/Remove Software process. Clicking 'Call with Skype' once again starts the dialling from the Mac version of Skype. Weird and unwanted..... Any ideas to prevent this?

Not a problem afterall, as it turns out. Only shame on me for being a newb.
Though during my puzzle-solving process came across the skype-plugins for the AB. They are located in /library/Address Book Plug-Ins/ folder and are not automatically removed, when uninstalling Skype.
    Names: SkypeABDialer.bundle and SkypeABSMS.bundle.

  • Apple Fax: Address Book not up front with Microsoft Word 2004

Is there a known bug with Apple Fax and Word 2004?
From Word, clicking the Address Book icon in the fax dialog box, the addresses are BEHIND the fax dialog box. I cannot select an address.
I got rid of all the FaxSTF files (app, plist, etc.). Do I need to get rid of PageSender too?
Is there a fix? I've search this forum with key words without success.

    Norm,
I'm seeing the same issue as well. For some reason when clicking the Address Book button (the silhouette icon in the top right) the mini Address Book window ends up behind the faxing window and can not be accessed or closed. This doesn't seem to be as big of a deal in Entourage. The only workaround I've found is to Preview the Print job first and then Fax from Preview.
Would love to know if you found an answer to this.
    Cheers,

  • Why is Apple's Address Book widget looking outdated?

I've the latest updates on my new iMac, but I noticed that the standard Address Book widget that comes with Dashboard looks outdated. You have to type in a name to get it working, no arrows. On the Mac at work this widget is dynamic and easy to flip through. Even on apple.com it shows the cool looking one. Strangely enough the boring looking one is version 1.1 and the cool looking one at work is an older version 1.0.2. Is this a design update mistake? Has anyone else noticed this? How do I fix this?
    I'll appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
    -Mike

Dutchy, it looks like that is the way it is supposed to look now. If you would like it the other way in a future release, you can go to the Mac OS X tab above and then Feedback to make your suggestion to Apple. Otherwise you might look for a widget that does what you like, or better yet, create your own.

  • Importing data from Apple's Address Book

Is there a way to import Address Book data into Numbers?
Page 99 of the Getting Started booklet seems to indicate the possibility.

2 ways I know of. First is to drag a contact group (or a selection of contacts) onto a blank Numbers page. This will create a table on the page for you with 4 colomns (Last Name, First Name, Phone, and Email), with all the data already filled in from the contacts that you dragged. Secondly (and more elegantly IMHO), create a table first in Numbers and give it a header row. Give each cell in the header row a name reflective of the Address Book data you want in that column (ex. Last Name, First Name, Home Address, Home Phone, Work Phone, Mobile Phone, etc.). Drag the table as large as you need in order to accomodate as many data fields as you want. When you have all the columns named in the header row, drag a contact group or selection of contacts from Address Book into this newly-created table, and all the info will auto-fill. Each time you drop contacts or lists of contacts onto this table, it will add the dropped contacts to those already in the table.

  • Scheduling iCal Activities from/in Address Book

Can I schedule activities, calls and to do's in Apple's address book application? Or only in iCal? If only in iCal, the suite does not integrate totally as Apple claims.
    John Gibbs

    No, but ...
If you enter a contact's birthday details in Address Book it will appear as an event in iCal.
If you drag a contact from Address Book and drop it on iCal it creates a meeting event with that person at the dropped date and time.
If you have a meeting event you can select an attendee and bring up their details in Address Book (oops, that bit seems to be broken on my machine).
