Apple Tech. Service Turnaround Time For Repairs?

I contacted Apple today and made arrangements to send my phone in for either repair or replacement (hope it's repair...) because my usage meter is still not functioning...and my touchscreen has suddenly lost a big degree of sensitivity, taking sometimes 2-3 taps for each function.
They were kind enough to wave the $30 loaner fee for me, and my Apple Care loaner should be here tomorrow.
My question: how long is the turnaround time for normal repairs or replacements with Apple?
I would like my phone back ASAP, naturally.

I realize this process seems like it will be inconvenient but it actually works quite well. I went through this within the first few weeks after 6/29 due to occasional crackling with the earpiece. My iPhone was exchanged for a new one and I was impressed with the process. I preferred having Fed-Ex deliver the loaner iPhone - using the same box to return my iPhone and doing the same with my replacement and the loaner iPhone. For me this is preferable than driving to a store and waiting in line, etc. and then returning later to repeat that process. I like doing this from the comforts of home or in my situation, from the comforts of my office.
Don't sweat it - it will end up being all good.

It is running at 5 pm , but run 3 times, for that records has updated 3 time
How i can resolve it, If any problem in this code please give me the write direction or code. And this thing i have been searching for 3 days , but stile i didn't get any solution

          with pageflows? I make a minor change in my JSP or my JPF and the time it takes
          to build and run again is pretty bad. Don't you guys do any incremental compilation?


          Change in JPF will take time. but in JSP, it's ok.

ISight problem, time for repair?

iSight suddenly stopped working. No green light. Won't work in iChat, Gmail, or Photo Booth. Message "No camera connected to this computer". I followed the advice given here. Restarted. I checked Utilities >> System Profiler >> USB and saw iSight listed (though it said "not configured yet"). I reset the PRAM, went back to System Profiler and now iSight doesn't show up at all.
Does that pretty much exhaust my efforts? Time to bring it in?

You've tried some good things, Rob. You may be right that it is time for service.
For any iSight problems, first try restarting the Mac. If the problems persist, try all relevant suggestions from:

If your iSight problem still occurs in more than one app and more than one user account, the reset suggested there (PMU/SMC for your MacBook) often restores proper function of inbuilt iSight.
However, if your built-in iSight still does not work after carefully following all the suggestions in the "How to Troubleshoot iSight" article, and if iSight does not show as a USB hardware device in your Mac's System Profiler utility, yours is most likely a hardware problem. In that case, contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.
BTW - I note that your posted system info shows Mac OS X (10.4.7). If that is correct, unless you have compelling reasons for not doing so, I suggest you backup your Mac and apply the 10.4.11 Combo Update:

I recommend you use your Mac's Disk Utility to *repair permissions* immediately before *_and again_* immediately after the update. After repairing permissions, use your Mac's  > Software Update... menu command to apply any additional needed Apple software updates.

Should an Apple Authorized Service Provider ask for my personal login password?

I sent my Macbook Pro to an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) because the computer wasn't turning on. While I was giving my information they asked for my login password in order to be able to install some diagnostic software. I didn't want to gave my personal password because with that you can get passwords that are stored in Keychain.
They say that they needed so I ended up trusting them, but does Apple allow AASP to ask for personal passwords?

Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

Apple took in my Macbook for repair, but all my files have been deleted? How do I get the data back?

I recently just got this computer this september, so I have not purchased an external hard drive to back up my data, but I wanted to know if there is any way to restore all the lost data?

It is extremely likely that Apple had to restore everything to the way it was originally when you purchased the Mac in order to repair.
Since you decided not to purchase the external drive for the backup, all of your data is now lost.
Maybe now that you have lost all your data, you might reconsider the necessity to backup in the future to prevent this from happening again.

Apple stores UK opening times for iPhone 4

I'm working on the release day of the iPhone and the Apple store is an hour away from where I live so I will just miss the normal closing time. Historically do Apple stores stay open later on iPhone launch days in the UK?

I use kaspersky for mac with my iMAC. During start up i receive a massage: the program KAV will get income Network (firewall massage) Agree oder disagree... When I press agree the apple-firewall should save the permission

I agree that, for a knowledgeable and careful person in sole control of his/her Mac, it's extremely unlikely for AV software to be needed in any way, and is thus "unnecessary medicine."
However, I've encountered a few people this year who somehow got malware (verified with ClamXav) and didn't know how. One in particular had RSPlug... he was quite willing to talk and not offended by the (carefully worded) question about whether pirated software or video plugins from p0rn sites were involved (they weren't). In his case, either he got one of the variants of RSPlug that aren't overtly questionable or his teenage son did something and wouldn't admit to it. What would you suggest I tell people like this? Education can't always be the cure because of things like those rare RSPlug variants and because of disobedient teenagers.
Also, note that ClamXav is quite well-behaved and only scans when and what you tell it to. If you say that AV software is harmful, I'd have to say you haven't actually tried that one.

IPhone service turnaround time?

I sent my iPhone in as the antennas stopped working. They priority overnighted the box to me, and I sent it in yesterday. They recieved it today, and it is in step two of the repair process. Diagnosis, I believe. How long is the general wait for the return of the iPhone? It has been painless so far, as i'm in school all day, but I have a 3 day weekend, and I need a cellphone. When can I excpect this thing to return to it's rightful owner?

Ugh, hopefully they send me a new one. This one the sent me after my first iPhone died has been shoddy from the get go. The buttons were loose, and the black plastic antenna cover felt like it had been removed before, and was warped. Well, here is hoping to a new iPhone.

IPod dead? Time for repair?

I plugged in my iPod mini to my computer today to transfer some songs, and it froze right away. Now, since mine is second-hand and pretty old and beat up, I took no notice of it, since this kind of thing usually happens (I usually end up resetting it around twice a day). But when I tried to reset it, I got the sad face iPod image and was directed to the iPod support page. I followed the directions to put it in disk mode and such, but to no avail. The sad iPod face kept haunting me. Then, later tonight, as I was willing the **** thing to work, I noticed an electrical whirring sound, that, sure enough, was coming from my iPod. It sounds like the hard drive is pretty much fried.
Any hope whatsoever? (Warranty is gone by now =( )

The sad iPod icon is usually indicative of a hard drive problem, and that coupled with the strange noises it's making seems to confirm it.
There are 3rd party repair sites (depending where you live) which might be worth a try.

Long story, but while using my iPod my friend accidentally dropped it (hard), so now I have no idea what wrong with it.
Firstly, after picking it up, browsing through the library took forever. Than eventually, I can’t listen to music. And now after connecting to my iPod, the computer would not recognize it. Even iPod updater wouldn’t recognize it. Now when trying to connect, the charging icon appeared than after awhile, the screen switch back to the starting mode (when the screen is black and in the middle the apple icon) and back and forth and so on…
Does anyone know what happening?
Need repair perhaps? And yes? How?

Well, if there's ANY marks on the outside (other than normal use scratches) it's not likely that Apple will fix it within the warranty, and you'll have to pay to fix it.
Do you have a store nearby?? That would be the first place I'd take it, if so.
And STOP letting your friends hold your expensive electronics!
