Apple won't help me fix my ipod

I've sent it in twice, they've sent it back to me twice saying there was no problem found. I don't know how they couldn't find a problem, my ipod is completely screwy. It doesn't turn off, the battery dies quickly, it skips, right now I can't even get my computer to recognize it when it did just a couple days ago, the whole thing is messed up and I have no idea why and Apple keeps sending it back to me like nothing is wrong
I've tried every single suggestion on the apple website to fix it...nothing has worked. I feel like I wasted a lot of money on a broken product and am very disappointed...why won't apple help me? id send it in again but I'm 99% sure they'll send it back to me still broken
Dell Dimension 4500 Windows XP

Yes, I've been using it for months. And I can charge other devices with it. (my iPhone) but something weird just happened..... I kept on pluging it in the iPod and sometimes it would start to chàrge then sometimes it won't charge. Charges every time with the iPhone though.

  • I have a macbook air bought in 2010 wit liquid damage that might has affected the SSD card. I need to get my data but apple won't help. Authorized dealers never seem to have the same model to try whether the SSD card works. How can I get my data quickly?

    Hi
I have a macbook air bought in 2010. It has liquid damage that might or might not affected the SSD card. I need the data on my SSD card for work and I need it urgently. Apparently Apple won't get the data out, even if I have apple care... Licensed apple dealers need to have the same macbook air model so they can insert the SSD card and check whether the data is there, and they never seem to have one...
I'm really disappointed with apple. It's been two weeks and I haven't been able to find out whether the SSD card is holding my data. It can't take that long to do it in store... How can they sell a product and then wash their hands on the matter?
Anyway, enough with the apple rant. I need to get this data urgently so I need to find out how I can get it out of the card. The SSD card and data might be fine so I don't want to take it to a data recovery centre and get charged loads.
    Thanks for your help.

See this link for a 4870 card, best instructs for flashing for a noob like me. (last lowest price was $150 for a 1GB vRAM 4870 from TigerDirect).

However, not every 4870 card will work with the ROM currently floating around out there. BEWARE!

  • What to do when my new iphone 5 came damaged, is missing pieces, and apple won't help me?!

I am EXTREMELY disappointed in Apple. I preordered my iPhone 5 as soon as it was available, but did not receive it in the mail until yesterday. I excitedly met the UPS man and ran inside to open my new phone. Upon opening the package, I found that my iPhone is damaged (with dings on the front/side - and it is a white/silver iPhone, not black), the SIM card is missing, AND the earbud/mic/remote is missing!! I spent who knows how long on the phone with Apple customer service, only for them to tell me that my best option is to go to an Apple store and they'll switch it out for me. I was told that they will hold an iPhone identical to mine so that it is ready to go when I get there. I called both of the Apple stores "near" me (both an hour away) and neither would hold a phone for me - so I called later in the day when I was actually able to make it to a store, and they were out of stock. I was told that I should make an appointment with a Genius - but then I would have to come back later to get a phone. Like I said, this is not a short drive for me. I was then told that I could go online after 10 p.m. and reserve a phone, without paying, and pick it up in the store. It seems that is not the case. I have to either open a new account or see if my AT&T account is eligible for an upgrade - which it isn't, because I used that when I originally ordered the phone. So now I'm stuck with a damaged phone with missing pieces that I can't use, and I can't seem to get anybody to easily help me get a new one. I'm about to just call and ask for a full refund and go buy the Galaxy S3 that my parents love so much. They asked me what was so great about the iPhone 5... and I really don't know what to say.
Now what do I do? I'm tired of dealing with people over the phone who won't help me. And the Apple Retail stores aren't being very helpful themselves. Ugh!!!

    Nice try! Take a hike.

  • Still need help with 2122 error.  Apple won't help.

okay, i'm still getting the 2122 error when burning. i'm all out of ideas and apple isn't helping me at all with their "award winning customer support". btw, who gave them that "award"? anyway, this discussion board is pretty much my last hope to get some kind help. any new ideas or solutions to this problem?

Ipod touch will sync with one computer at a time. If you sync to another, it will first erase the content from the ipod, then replace it with content from the new computer.
On Mac, not completely sure about Windows, you can copy the entire itunes folder to the new computer and retain the information.

  • Apple won't help with iTunes freezing Problem!

I just spent ove 37 minutes on the phone last night with Appple (I don't) Care telephone support. The rep couldn't help me and would not transfer my call to a supervisor because "Supervisors do NOT talk to customers." I'm at a loss. I can't believe I paid for the Protection and Service Plan. I've always been a fan of Apple but now I'm about ready to buy a PC. Can anybody help?
I am running OS 10.3.9 on a G4 machine with 768 MB SDRAM. I downloaded the latest version of iTUNES. I Restored my iPOD twice. (I have a 30 GB Video iPOD). I tried transferring songs over 30 or less at a time. iTunes still freezes. WHen it does freeze, I can't stop the update, I can't Force Quit iTunes and I get stuck with the spinning beachball of death. I actually have to hit the power button to turn of my machine and start over from scratch. I'm about to give up and return my iPOD. Who else has had this problem and did oyu ever get it fixed?

There is no damage to repair. iOS 7 is operating within expected parameters.
The fact that you dislike the new OS is not something Apple "needs" to fix. Personally I like the new design.
iOS 7 has been out for almost a year.   If you did not know what it was going to look like before you updated by now, then its all on you for not doing your research.
And really the colorful icons are your main issue, what are you 5 years old?  Seriously grow up.
Find a yellow note taking App in the App store and move on.

  • Can anyone help me fix my iPod/iTunes problem?

I have an iPod Touch Gen 3 with iOS 5.1.1.  I'm running Windows 8 (which is probably my first problem) and iTunes 11 or whatever the latest one is.  For whatever reason, whenever I add a song from my laptop to my iPod, the song: A) either skips, only plays the first couple of seconds and then goes on to the next song, or doesn't play at all and goes on to the next song, and B) has heavily pixelated and distorted artwork.  I originally thought that it was my old iPod screwing up, which is two years old and semi-broken, so I assumed it was just ready to die.  I've deleted and reinstalled my iTunes, but that didn't help.  I'm going to run a security scan soon to see if there's anything wrong with the iTunes files.  If anyone has had this happen and knows how to fix, or if anyone has an idea to give me a direction to go, please help me out.

    Troubleshooting songs that skip
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Plethora of issues with my NEW computer. Apple won't help

I bought my brand new Apple MacBook Pro in August of 2011. Paying so much for a product manufactured by such a large and notable company, one would expect to get a piece of machinery that was worth the amount of money that I spent.
    WRONG.
Since I bought the computer, I have had NOTHING but problems with it.
As of right now I have brought my computer in multiple times to the Apple Store (none of which are even remotely close to my location), I believe around 8 times, and the people at the Apple Store have been nothing but unhelpful and rude to me.
When I opened the computer, there was a "Ghost Image" that the AppleStore FIXED but failed to resolve any other issues. Since then the computer has caused nothing but problems and my dealings with the Apple Store have cost me a lot of time, money and patience.
At about the fourth visit, one would think that the staff would actually do something about the problems I was experiencing instead of running checks and telling me there was nothing wrong and that there was nothing they could do.
Is there a way to circumvent the Apple Store and go to someone who can actually take responsibility for a faulty product sold to an extrememly unhappy customer?
All I want is a functioning computer that I can use.
    Thanks.

    Perhaps.
Although after having brought my computer into the store 8 times where they are supposedly experts at resolving issues and receiving no help, you think that writing the problems online will do a better job at solving the issues?
    Doubtful.
Very, Extremely, Doubtful if you don't post the problems.
Not sure how long you have been using Mac computers but if you are switching from PC to Mac Apple clearly lies about how they are easier to use. Could this be mostly user errors or unfamiliarity with the Mac OS.
Some of the problems may be solved with a Clean install of the OS, Yes even Mac's need that from time to time (even if some old Mac fanboys say it isn't ever needed) just like Windows PCs.
So why not give posting the problems a shot. You have Nothing to lose.

  • Can someone please help me fix my ipod??!!!!!

My ipod 5 has been working perfectly fine all day. but when i got home and tried using it the screen turned pink and has a whole bunch of stripes on it. the screen is also not working. what do i do? or how do i fix it?

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I need OS 9 ASAP and Apple won't help, PLEASE HELP!

    Hi,
Ive got a project that's got to be done on PageMaker and I don't have OS 9. So frustrating that this client won't let me just do it in InDesign.
Does anyone know of a solution? I'd be perfectly willing to buy it from Apple for $100 but they won't send it for a week or two! I just want a download. The Apple retail stores don't have it either.
If you have a solution for me please advise. I'm a big supporter of Apple and buy plenty of stuff from them so I'll be looking for a copy to download anywhere I can now. I don't give a ** about their licenses if they won't even sell me a copy in a timely manner. Thanks so much for any help you can provide!
      Mac OS X (10.4.2)

You should be able to find a copy on eBay. Amazon.com and MacSales.com also have OS 9.1 available. You need OS 9.1 or higher.
Note that if your computer does not support booting OS 9, then you need to install a special version of Classic that came with your computer. You will find it on your Software Restore disks under Software Extras.

  • Quicktime no longer works since I updated Firefox - Apple won't help. Please advise.

When I get an Italian word of the day and click to play audio of it in sentence, I get a quicktime message that it needs a component. This just started happening, maybe since I updated Firefox. Not sure. I called Apple and they had me download something which fixes it with Safari and they say it's a Firefox problem. Any advice? I prefer Firefox.

  • TC solid AMBER LIGHT then dies. Apple won't help.

Over the weekend my time capsule powered off. When I tried to restart it, it went to a solid amber light for 15-30 seconds, and then died.
I unplugged it for half an hour, same problem, unplugged it overnight, same problem.
Soft reset won't work, hard reset won't work. Can't access it with ethernet.
Tried factory reset many times, solid amber light starts to blink, then when I release reset button (having held it for various amount of time) it goes solid amber, for a split second it sounds like it might start, then dies. No light. D E A D.
So, I've researched it online, and it seems a little different to the heat / power issue. I call Apple support, and the first tech just tries to order me a new one. My serial number 819 however prevents this. So a senior advisor comes on to tell me it can't be replaced. He get's cut off....
So I call back, and the tech reads the notes and basically tells me there is nothing that can be done, and is quite blasé about the whole thing. He offers me no advice and makes no attempt to diagnose the problem, just tells me it's done and I need to buy a new one as I don't have applecare.
I point out (nicely) it's only two years old, I expected more, it's supposed to be server grade, etc.
He replies "It's only a hard drive" which I found very interesting. ONLY A HARD DRIVE? So why did I pay $340 for it? He also tells me I should have backed up my back ups. So how many "server grade" back ups do I need to make? I need to buy 5 time capsules to back up my macbook incase 4 of them just give up suddenly? He also says that it's an electronic device and electronic devices fail. Just like that. May as well have just said "Tough luck, buddy!"
Later he tries to retract that statement and puts me through to another senior advisor. Predictably she tells me the same thing. No offer of repair or attempts to diagnose problem, just it's finished. She was as nice as she could be about it, but that's the conclusion. Eventually after I explained I was disappointed with this attitude, she said maybe I could take it to the genius bar to have the information taken off and moved to a new TC.
So basically, my new drive will be costing me in the region of $700 (given that my original $340 TC is only good for the trash).
My current thinking is I shall try and retrieve the data myself, use one of my other much, much cheaper external HD's that have been running flawlessly for years as a back up, and wait to see if Apple start to issue replacements for my serial number.
Ultimately I don't want a free replacement TC, I'd rather mine worked. I was expecting a better service, at least an attempt to make me feel like this was out of the ordinary, or they were concerned about me buying more Apple products in the future.... I was also expecting a server grade HD to last more than two years.....
Anyway, stepping off my soap box..... If anyone has any suggestions how I can get this going, or what the cause might be please before I try and retrieve the data myself.
    Thanks!

I had the same problem while doing a backup.  My Capsule is a 2008 model, but an "818" in the serial number so it's not part of the recall.
THIS IS HOW I RETREIVED MY DATA FROM MY DEAD TIME CAPSULE:
Put time capsule in Zip-lock freezer bag and suck all the air out of the bag using a straw.
Put time capsule into deep freezer for a few hours. (the zip lock is to stop/reduce humidity on the electronics inside the capsule)
Remove from freezer, cross your fingers and plug it in.
On mine, after the solid yellow light went out, there was loud fans and lots of noise.  Let it boot for a couple minutes and either connect to it wireless/ethernet and start transferring your data.  Depending on how cold your freezer is (deep freeze is usually -18C/0F and house freezer is -9C/15F) will probably depend on how long the TC is up and running.  Mine ran for 45min straight, then i was done transferring and left it to see if it was fully operational again.  Checked back on it an hour later and the drive had stopped and the light was off...
You could even try to run it from inside the freezer as well...
    GOOD LUCK!!

  • I Need Help On Fixing My IPod Classic 160 Gb

ive been very very frustrating lately on my iPod classic 160gb so the problem is when I connect my iPod to iTunes it just freezes iTunes freezes not my iPod so when I disconnect my ipod itunes unfreezes and also my iPod appears as a removable disk not as iPod please help

It's possible that there is a problem on your iPod's hard drive.  iTunes freezes because it is trying access the iPod's iTunes data, but is unable to do so.
Hopefully, the problem is  data corruption, and not a hardware fault.  Either way, you probably need to try doing a Restore on the iPod, which will erase its current content.  These are the instructions for doing a Restore.
    Restoring iPod to factory settings
However, that's probably not possible because iTunes freezes when you connect the iPod.  Therefore, first try putting the iPod into Disk Mode.
    Putting iPod into Disk Mode
If it goes into Disk Mode, connect it to the computer and run iTunes.  If iTunes does not freeze, or it prompts you to do a Restore, do a Restore on the iPod.  If the Restore completes successfully, the iPod's hard drive is probably OK, and you'll be able to set it up for syncing.
