Applescript to Access Calendar

Hello all, I am creating an applescript to read my iCal events and find out when the next event is. It works fine except for at the beginnning of the program, it asks for permision to access the calendar. I looked into it, and found out to go into settings/security and allow it through to the calendar as you can see below. After I do that, it works well for about a day, but then, it starts asking me to allow it through again. Is there a way to permanantly allow it? An addition to the code or just a setting change would be great.
As always, any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan Siebecker

  • How to access Calendar Events in Windows Phone 8.1 SDK

    Hi,
I have multiple email accounts setup on my Windows Phone 8.1.
I have requirement to access appointments in calendar for specific email accounts and perform some operation. I found sample code on MSDN and all of the are examples of using Microsoft.Phone namespace. But as I am using Windows Phone 8.1 SDK and not Windows
    Phone 8.1 Silverlight SDK.
Can someone guide me of an equivalent namespace/method of accessing calendar appointments using Windows Phone 8.1 SDK.
    Thanks,
    Nasir

    Hi nasir,
If you would like to modify the server side appointments I believe you need to call server side api to manipulate them.
For instance if we would like to modify the data into O365 server,
Get started with the SharePoint 2013 REST service should be a good start. Also calling Exchange
Web services is a good idea.

  • Unable to access calendar, because the web service is configured incorrectly

When attempting to access my web based calender I recieve the following error, "Unable to access calendar, because the web service is configured incorrectly." I have both the web service and iCal server configured to use SSL.
    Thanks for any help

I have the same problem, with a temporary solution :
    http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=111059
In the Server Admin - iCal Server Settings page there's a place where you specify the ports to be used, 8008 without SSL and 8443 (? out of my memory, not sure) for SSL.
The issue was caused because left of the SSL port I selected "redirect" instead of "use".
After I changed that it worked right away.

  • 11g How to programmatically access Calendar Rules

    Hi guys,
I use BPM 11g and I'm trying to programmatically access calendar rules configuration for the organization in order to display labor dates in ADF task flow using Simple Expression like: now + 2 business days.
Has anyone done this on 11g?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Do NOT use ExternalContext.getRequest(), but ExternalContext.getRequestMap().put() in the backing bean. As for the programmatic access, as mentionned it might be a scope issue. When is your managed bean code executed exactly?

  • Groupwise 2012 Remote Web Access Calendar

I think we have run into a bug that we are not sure how to fix, hopefully someone out there has an answer. We are experiencing that when you have recurring appointments in the calendar, remote web access calendar will not display any appointments. If you remove the recurring appointments, then the other appointments will appear. This is not a problem with the standard client, just when using the web access client. Any thoughts?

  • I keep receiving the message"Calendar Cache" couldn't be moved because you don't have permission to access "Calendars". when trying to open Calendar on my iMac....What is wrong?

I am receiving the message“Calendar Cache” couldn’t be moved because you don’t have permission to access “Calendars” and then it crashes....why?

Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    ls -Odel Library/Calendars
Post any lines of output that appear below what you entered — the text, please, not a screenshot.

  • "calendar cache" couldn't be moved because you don't have permission to access 'calendars' error

I tried to use my ical app and got this message:
"calendar cache" couldn't be moved because you don't have permission to access 'calendars'
    Any ideas?
I am the administrator so this doesn't make any sense to  me.

Clarification please - you get that error message when trying to open the program?

  • I can't access Calendar Preferences

I set up my new iMac using Time Machine (on hard drive from my G4 and Mac 10.5.8)
All worked well except that it was set up with one of two Apple ID accounts - the one I used for my .mac mail account.
Unfortunately my other Apple ID account (my Itunes account) is where I synched calendars, contacts, etc. So I managed to switch the iMac to the other Apple ID and all is now synched.
However, I'm notified that I can't use iCloud storage which seems to be linked to the first account.
Also, unlike all other programs - when I try to access Calendar Preferences nothing opens!
Is this a common problem when someone has two Apple ID's??

    Hello GfCT,
Turning of your Wi-Fi should prevent this message from appearing, allowing you to open preferences in Calendars and remove the offending account.

  • Granting permanent permission to an Applescript to access Contacts

I have an Applescript saved as an application that I launch automatically in the middle of every night. Before I upgraded to Mavericks, it ran fine unattended. After I upgraded to Mavericks, it asks for permission to access my contacts evey time it runs.
Is there a way to permanently grant it access to the contacts so that it can run reliably on its own?
    Thanks!

A regular AppleScript application modifies itself by saving properties and globals with the script(s), so it is seen as a different application by the security frameworks in Mavericks each time that it is run.  You can try something like setting the application or its scripts to read-only (any persistent properties and globals won't be be saved), using Xcode (a Cocoa-Applescript written in Xcode does not save globals), or signing the application - see Using AppleScript with Accessibility and Security features in Mavericks.

  • Can't Access Calendar General Options and other issues (Sync issue?)

I have a Curve 8330m. V4.5.0.169. I recently began syncing with Blackberry Desktop for Mac. After the latest update I got sync error messages. So I decided not to sync my contacts in case I’d lose them. (I had been through quite a bit of grief to get them nicely synced). I hadn’t synced my calendar so I decided to try that. Since then, my calendar has not functioned properly.
I can’t access General Options on the Calendar Menu. When I choose  “Today” it goes to a date in the future (17 days hence). The same thing happens when I “Go to Date”. The Week View is totally different and very basic looking. The date at top does not match the week . . . . .
I could go on and on. It seems like the "formatting" of the Calendar view has been corrupted.
But what I’d really like to do is fix it!
Can I delete the calendar without deleting contacts? Do I need to do a wipe and start all over? And do I risk never seeing my addresses on the Blackberry again?
I really need both contacts  (thousands) and calendar for my work.
    I would appreciate any help?
    Thanks in advance
    Madrone

Thanks for your reply, John. DM Mac does not seem to have an "advanced" option in the Back up / Restore" mode. It basically gives you two choices: restore all of a backup or select items to restore. Does this, in your view, mean that my only option is to wipe and then restore all except for calendar records  and option (1) and then try to do a sync with the calendar?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

  • Not possible to access calendar and contacts hosted on OS 10.8 server

On OS 10.8 server, /var/log/caldavd/error.log says:
        2012-08-06 21:06:03+0200 [-] [caldav-3]  [PooledMemCacheProtocol,client] [twext.web2.dav.method.propfind#error] File not found: <RootResource: /Library/Server/Calendar and Contacts/Data/Documents/calendar/dav/"user"/user>
    I do see
    /Library/Server/Calendar\ and\ Contacts/Data
but it is locked for me as user.
    - Owner is `_calendar` (93)
    - Group is `_calendar` (93)
and it's read, write and execute for owner and group (750)
    Are these the right settings?
After upgrading to 10.8 server from 10.7 server I could not access my calendar and contacts data anymore, and I looked into the above described log.
When I am trying to access a calendar from a client via System Settings -- Mail, Contacts & Calendars I get this error:
A secure connection couldn't be established. Click "Continue" to continue creating the account
However, it won't access neither calendars nor contacts.
Or are the permissions not the issue, but something else?

This could very well be. There are two things:
    1) where would I set "network users"? Is this related to Open Directory? Or to Profile Manager? I enabled both. I looked more closely into the log file. Previously I had the following two lines occurring every time I logged in, they don't occurr anymore.
        2012-08-07 08:06:48+0200 [-] [caldav-6]  [PooledMemCacheProtocol,client] [twistedcaldav.directory.appleopendirectory.OpenDirectoryService#error] Duplicate: "User"

    2) The previously mentioned error
        2012-08-07 08:15:24+0200 [-] [caldav-0]  [PooledMemCacheProtocol,client] [twext.web2.dav.method.propfind#error] File not found: <RootResource: /Library/Server/Calendar and Contacts/Data/Documents/calendar/dav/"User"/user>
    still remains.
Again, I'd be grateful for further pointers!

    Hi,
Note this is a 10.5 forum and so 10.6 problems may not correspond.
However, I noted the following log entry:
http://calendarserver.tap.caldav.CalDAVServiceMaker#info Setting up document root at: /Users/dincaoadm/Desktop/test
For collaboration service with wikis, the document root should be located at /Library/CalendarServer/Documents
Which leads me to suspect your iCalServer is not setup correctly for wiki/calendar service.
Before selecting calendar service in the web setup ensure the iCalServer service is running correctly.
    HTH,
    Harry

  • How to access calendar rules via java

    Hi to all,
We have a process in which we need to set a Timer, but the date must be validated against Calendar Rules. We searched in forums, webs, documentation and we couldn't find a way to do this.
I know it is possible to set an expiration date based on Business Calendar on a Human Task (deadline tab in Human task editor), but this is not what we need.
We actually need a way to set a variable date in the process that can handle only business days. e.g.: 'now' + 2 business days.
Right now we are setting the Timers with this expression from a Business Rule: Duration.from string("PT48H")
Then I associate the business rule output with a Time type variable(deadlineTime) doing: 'now' + deadlineTime
So right after that I can use the Time variable on a timer attached to the human tasks I need. * We need to use business rules because the customer may want to change the times accordingly to their needs through BPM Composer. *
The problem is that this solution does not take into account Saturday and Sundays (holidays are a concern too).
We need to set the expiration time to timers attached to human tasks, but the time should consider working days only. We consulted with experts from Oracle and told us that functionality is available in the PS 6 version. At the moment it is impossible to migrate to that version. I need to know how to access via Java APIs to the calendar rules for checking programmatically.
    JDeveloper version: 11.1.1.6
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks in advance
    Marcelo

    Hi Yarner,
Once you have all your dll included in a jar and used the nativelib tag, you have to use, at the beginning of you application, the command System.loadLibrary to load all the dll you need. Including the ones called by the others you have direct access.
The dlls have to be explicitly loaded in the order they are called.
For example: you use lib1.dll and lib2.dll. The lib1.dll needs lib0.dll.
Even if you don't use lib0.dll directly, once its called by lib1.dll you have to put then in the order.
    System.loadLibrary("lib0.dll");
    System.loadLibrary("lib1.dll");
    System.loadLibrary("lib2.dll");
I hope it may help you, good luck.

Well, I'm no expert with Calendar, even though UWC comes with Messaging and Calendar.
You might get better response in the Calendar forum.
However, you do have the Calendar server set up in "virtual domain" setup?
