Applet is getting destroy in frames

I am displaying JavaFX chart in one of my frame and I have an option to hide/unhide the frame. When I hide the frame applet, is getting destroyed. The moment when I unhide my frame, iam getting empty screen in that frame. Is there any way to get the control on applet for not to destroy and to destroy when required?

How do you "hide" the frame?
Do you use real frames (not a good idea, IMHO) or iframes?

JSP session getting destroyed when second user logs in

I am facing a session related problem in a small login program in jsp. I am using three jsp pages, login.jsp (user logs in), page1.jsp (creates a session and stores username) and page2.jsp (accesses session).
Login.jsp:
No jsp actually. Just a simple html form.
Page1.jsp:
String name=request.getParameter("Name");
session=request.getSession(true);
session.setAttribute("Name",name);
Page2.jsp:
session=request.getSession(false);
if(session.isNew())
System.out.println("new session created");
String name=session.getAttribute("Name").toString();
As expected, it works like session getting set at page1 and used at page2. It works good if users log in one by one. The problem arises when 2 (or more users with different logins) try to access the page at same time. When a new user logs in, the previous user session gets destroyed (session.isNew() becomes true and session Id changes).
Is it the way I am using sessions (missing something), or there is some setting in tomcat server to specify maximum number of logins (sessions that can be handled).

Thanks for reply, but I guess the problem is not clear. Let me explain..
A user logs in, he reaches first page (page1.jsp), here session is getting set. Then user goes to page2.jsp where application retrieves the information from session and uses it. It works all well.
When two (or more) user logs in.. First user logs in, he reaches page 1, session is set. But then another user logs in (different id) and a session is set for him as well. Now the problem here is that session for first user gets destroyed at this point, which is unexpected (two sessions should not conflict, on different machines).
Additionally, the problem does not happen necessarily at second login. eg. sometimes 4 users log in and when fifth one logs in, fourth gets logged out (session gets destroyed).
I am not able to figure out, whether the problem is in code (given in first post) or there is some tomcat setting responsible for this behavior.

Illustrator CS3: perfectly fine pdf gets destroyed when placing in Illustrator

Hi!
I am new to Illustrator, but I just dont get the problem. A perfectly looking pdf comes out looking all wrong when it is placed in Illustrator.
This is how the diagram looks in pdf. Perfectly scalable.
This is how it looks after beeing imported in Illustrator.
Everything else that was imported form the pdf looks fine. Only this diagramm gets destroyed!
Why does this happen?

How was the PDF created? Printed, Exported? Some other method?
If nothing else helps, you could do the following: it looks like the problems are only in drop shadows and text. You could delete both from the Power Point file, export, save or print the PDF. Then import into Illustrator and recreate shadows and text there.
I don't think you could transfer the complete graohic from PP to Illy as vector anyway. So rather get away with as much as you can and then complete it.

Applet size to 100% of frame

We have a Swing JApplet containing a JTree in a JScrollPane that's part of an HTML frameset. The applet needs to fill 100% of its frame on loading and then resize with the frame. I figured then the best way to do this would be to set width and height to 100% so the browser could handle it. This works great for Netscape, but IE seems to either add a vertical scrollbar or leave whitespace for it to the right of the applet and not fill the frame completely.
Is there some way around this or some better way to make JApplet size and resize correctly?

Sure! FYI, we use JavaScript document.write() calls to output the HTML for the frameset, but I removed so it would fit here better. The code in question is part of navigation.jsp (see below):

ServletContext is getting destroyed for unknown reasons with WL 8.1.4

Our application is working fine untill we used WL 8.1.3. Recently we moved to WL 8.1.4. We have an issue with ServletContext as it is getting destroyed in one particular usecase. ServletContext is getting destroyed and reinitiated, which is causing nonSerializable exception.There is nothing obvious in our code which is causing servletContext to get destroyed.
          Is there any way to know the reason/how servletContext is getting destroyed.

It might be helpful to use a ServletContextListener and print the stack trace from the destroy callback.

There are a few ways to make a freeze frame. What exactly are you doing? Using the hold function? Connecting a freeze frame? Exporting a still frame? Happens it's because of the specs of your media. What are they?

I own a t2i and am will be going to Switzerland, is it worth it to get a full frame camera,opinions?

I am a novice photographer in training, I am planning a once in a life-time trip to switzerland and want to get the most out of the landscape/mountain shots that I can.
Any opinions on whether my t2i will suffice, or how to make the most of this camera, a certain lens mm etc. (ofcourse I do not want to buy a lens that is above the t2i's paygrade)
or
get a full-frame camera with a high caliber lens, L-wide angle stuff etc.

If you have to ask the question, then the biggest thing you can do to improve your photography is to practice with what you have. You most certainly do not need to move to full frame to get great trip photos, especially if you’re talking about landscape photography. If you really feel the need to buy some stuff then I’d recommend a decent lens. But honestly, and not to be critical, but based off the jargon in your post you don’t know your way around a camera all that well. You can’t just buy a fancy lens and expect it to produce award winning photographs. At this stage in the game technique will do far more than technology.
Make sure you have a decent range covered (e.g. 18 mm to 250 mm) and just go have fun. Shoot in RAW so you can fix (some of) your mistakes after Practice as much as you can before hand and learn to use the semi-auto functions like Av. Make sure to not only take practice pictures, but review and edit them… you learn the most from your mistakes. Try to make the mistakes before the trip. As someone who bought his first dSLR before a year long backpacking trip around the world, I wish I had the time to follow this advice beforehand.

When I put in a scroll in fcx, I get a single frame of the scroll flashing on the screen about a second or two before the scroll appears. There is nothing on the timeline and this only appears after I have made the quicktime or dvd. Any thoughts?

I get three blank frames when I try to export

I'm new to motion and I have a question.
I'm working on an intro to a dvd menu, and whenever I try to export it, I get three black frames in my project. It happens at the same time, every time I export it. Specifically, it's right in the middle of a camera dolly. All that's happening is the camera is moving closer to one still image, while also moving to the left and right.
For some reason I don't get this problem when I play the clip in motion.

My OS is 10.8.5 and I am assuming that the reader I was using before was the one released just prior to 11.0.04 because I was pretty consistent about updating when a new release came out.

Need to get the parent frame

I am popping up a dialog box from a JScrollPane made up of a JTable and some buttons. I do not know how to specify the Frame owner part of the constructor. How do I get the parent frame in for the JDialog constructor?
Everything worked but then I realized my "dialog" was not a dialog box at all, just another frame... oops! This is an assignment so I have requirements I must adhere to. Now I am trying to convert it so it will truly be a Dialog box.
I promise you I have read ALL of the trails and API and searched forums. Can anyone assist?

Exporting movie - all I get is one frame

I'm an AE person really - I don't use Flash. But I've been given a .fla file with an animation I need to extract to some kind of recognisable movie format (avi, mov or whatever) to include in an AE piece. I've tried exporting it as a movie, but all I get is the first frame. It seems that the actual animation is included in some kind of embedded code? - here's a screenshot:
So I've gone into the "Animation group" folder and opened the "main clip" and this is what I've got. It plays fine, but exporting it I just get the first frame; I can't figure out how to end up with the whole animation. Help!

i) Select all the layers ( not the frames and make sure it all frames are also selected while selecting the layer)
ii) Press Ctrl+Alt+C to copy all the frames
iii) open a new file and create a movieclip if you need
iv) click on layer to select the layer
v) Press Ctrl+Alt+V to paste all the layers with the frames

Getting a good frame rate going

It seems like even with the simplest flash app, I'm not
getting a great frame rate. I wrote the attached code just to
display the frame rate.
If I set the movie frame rate to 60, then I'm seeing
displayed frame rates of around 37. If I set it to 30, I'm seeing
around 24. My computer is fast enough to run high-end games at
solid frame rates, so I don't think that is the issue.
Is there anything that I'm missing, or is this just something
I need to live with?

sorry jigidyjim i don't really have a solution for you but i
thought some diagnostic information may help.
i tried your code on my dual-core 2.1GHz machine.
At 60FPS, i was seeing about 55-56, and at 25FPS, i was
seeing pretty close to 25 most of the time. So it pretty much ran
as expected.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

MDB gets Destroyed

Hi,
          I am using 9.2 with clustering environment. I am using UOO hence I am initialising my pooled beans with 5 beans.
          Due to exceptions in the transaction these beans are getting destroyed while new beans are not getting initialised by App.Server even though messages are pending on the queue. Some times the bean stops operating and one has to manual start resuming. How can we automate this operation?
          Is this expected behavior or I have to do certain configurations to achieve this?

Hi Alan,
          You appear to have hit the stalling bug I mentioned previously. One possible work-around is to use a container managed transaction and force redelivery by rolling back the EJB transaction.
          (The "transaction.rollback()" isn't related to the stall, as its for the bean managed transaction and so is unrelated to the container state of your non-transactional MDB.)

          PS. Just in case your unaware, there's a not all that uncommon problem with MDBs that use bean managed transactions (BMTs): They can yield unintended "non-ACID" results without careful design to handle the potential for message redelivery when the BMT for the first delivery committed. If performance is a consideration, container managed transactions can often yield much higher throughput than BMTs...
