how to configure a webservice ssl connection from an applet?
webservice+ssl.jar is setting in my classpath,
but i can't use System.setProperty... in an applet.
Is there an example?

Hello,
Try the clientauth example [1] and see if it doesn't answer most of your
questions.

    Hello!
I installed Verisign test certificate on my server and I am able to connect
to the server using Web Service client with JSSE adapter class. Funnily
enough, I cannot connect using WebLogic SSL library, I get an exception.
Could someone help me understand, why I cannot connect using WebLogic SSL
    implementation?
To connect using JSSE I use following system properties:
    java^
    -classpath
    .;abcconnect-client.jar;webserviceclient.jar;..\lib\jcert.jar;..\lib\jnet.ja

    page: https://digitalid.verisign.com/server/trial/trialStep4.htm,
ABCJSSEAdapter is the adapter class, implementing SSLAdapter. JSSE test
    works fine.
To connect using WebLogic SSL implementation I use following system
    properties:
    java^

I converted binary format of the certificate to PEM, but it did not help.

    Michael,
I guess the getcacert.cer, which is on the client side, should have the
server's certificate followed by the root CA certificate in .pem format.
I have it working with this format.
Could you please try this out and let us know.
    Regards,
    Anurag

    Dear all,
I have a IPlanet web server with SSL installed,

Why can't you create jar files?

  • Applets and classes in jar files

I have placed an applet and a group of classes that the applet uses in a jar file.
The classes are grouped in their own files in a short directory tree within the jar file.
When the applet is loaded by the browser on a client with the usual CODE="appletname.class" and ACRCHIVE="jarname.jar" statements, are the related class files and the directory tree also loaded into the client? Or do they remain at the server to be used by the applet as necessary?

I'd say the entire JAR will be downloaded.

  • Applet(using SSL sockets) application in browser

    hello everyone,
I am new to this forum, and this is my first forum in this site, please help me,
    My problem is,
I have done an applet application which uses the SSL sockets, and it is working fine if i use the appletviewer tool, with the arguments of policy and URL, when i run this command "appletviewer -J-Djava.security.policy=mypolicy.policy URL of my html page" in the command mode its working fine.
I have wrote HTML file for running the applet, and when i used it in the browser i was not able to get output , i was getting the error "NoTrustedCertificates found", i have setted the properties of truststore and password in the program itself like,
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", System.getProperty("java.home")+"cert");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", "pwd");
and i also used the policy tool. I have stored my certificate along with the jar file, and i was getting this error
can anyone please help me, or suggest me the right way to reach my target.
    Thanx in advance

    Hai,
I have made my client applet running from the remote system, and the client was establishing SSL sockets, and there is a problem in Handshake, NO TRUSTED CERTIFICATE found was the error, and i had loaded the certificates ( one is used for signing the certificate, and the other is used for the SSL sockets authentication ) in my applet client code i have setted the system properties like
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", System.getProperty("java.home")+"\\lib\\security\\cert");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", "pwd");
and this is the certificate which is used for SSL sockets authentication, and i stored the cert in the "jre\lib\security\" directory, and im using the jdk1.4.2_05 version.
At the client side the error is

    Hi,
From your description, my understanding is that you get invalid workflowinstanceid error when you click on workflow link like "inprogress” in the current list.
Please check the URL of workflow “inprogress” (also URL for workflow approval instance to open task form) to see if it’s correct.
Please use your company network directly instead of CISCO SSL VPN, then access SharePoint portal url “https://vpnssl.companyname.com/”,  see if the issue still occur.
Also, check the ULS log on the SharePoint server based on the Correlation ID value, get more detailed information about this error message.
And you could refer to this similar issue:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/08aa6b33-cef6-4b01-8af7-6c25ed7d9953/invalid-workflowinstanceid-parameter-in-url?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious.

  • Applet unable to load JARs from URL?

Please let me preface my query with "I have not done applets ever for live business apps, only for uni and that was over a decade ago..." :)
I've been doing a lot of reading the last couple days and have been trying to modify a currently existing applet which unfortunately currently depends on libraries being installed in the ext dir on the user's PC (!). I am modifying it such that 1. it will now make a web service call and 2. it will need to include all of the good libraries that come with making web service calls. My other goal is to change the way the applet is loaded (applet tag) so that the libraries need not be pre-installed in the user's ext dir.
My trouble is, I cannot seem to persuade the applet to load the libraries that co-exist with it. I am loading the applet via a simple test harness page presently, where the HTML file resides in one directory (http://localhost/cis/dictation/test1.html) and the JARs in another (http://localhost/cis/common), but all at the same subdir level under the main web root. I know the applet is loading, as I have a test debug statement which prints out on each invocation.
Note If I load all of the JARs in the dependency hierarchy into the extensions directory, everything works swimmingly.
I have tried multiple variations on the applet tag, not completely sure of what it should look like. Please note when I load the URLs into the browser for each individual library, e.g. http://localhost/cis/common/axis.jar, the browser prompts me to download the JARs, so I know the browser can "see" them.

Then on subsequent page reloads, the java console reports NCDFE's for the newly added class WITHIN the applet jar, webmedx/client/applet/util/cdsproxy/WSAudioArchiveLocator (assuming because it requires javax.xml.rpc.Service, and cannot load it).
Any ideas/help will be very much appreciated :)

  • Html file to run an Applet using swings in 1.4.1 or 1.3.1

Can anyone send me an html document to launch the applet in a browser. I have very basic html, but I need one that uses the appropriate plug-in and that has parameters such as height, width, etc. My applet uses tabbed panes, dialog boxes and comboboxes. It works well with appletviewer, but does not work in IE or Netscape.
    Thank you for your help
here is what I am using which does does show anything but a grey screen

  • Remote host supports the use of SSL ciphers that offer weak encryption

    Dear All,
Our Internal security audit suggests to avoid the use of Week SSL ciphers for our SAP PI 7.0 servers.
We have followed the SAP note 510007 - Setting up SSL on Web Application Server ABAP
as mentioned in the point 6 we have added below parameter in the instance profile of application server  and restarted our server but still the issue is not resoved.
    ssl/ciphersuites=MEDIUM:HIGH:EXPORT:!LOW:!eNULL
Clients are accessing our PI server through SAP Web dispatcher.
Kindly suggest the action to be taken to resolve the issue.
Please find the below comment from Audit.
The remote host supports the use of SSL ciphers that offer weak encryption.
Note: This is considerably easier to exploit if the attacker is on the same physical network
    Regards,
    Lalitha.

  • Using webservices in forms 10g

    hi,
i am using webservices in my form. i am doing this by importing java classes and so on as per the webservices documentation. I run this form without any problem through windows. I have the classpath set up with the necessary jar file in default.env and system classpath.
Now I have to put it in the forms server (through AIX) so that the users can start using it. I have put the above form in the necessary directory and set up everthing. The form runs fine but when it comes to the webservices part, it gives me an error which basically means it cannot find the jar file. I haven't put the jar file anywhere in the forms server.
Can somebody please let me know :
    1) Where in the forms server should I put the jar file
    2) Where do I setup the classpath in the forms server?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jan,
Thanks for your reply. I placed the necessary jar files in ORACLE_HOME/jlib and then set up the classpath in the env file I'm using (not the default.env, i have my own env). But I still get the classpath error after I run the form. Have I place the jar files in the right folder??
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Strip classes actually  used in a jar file to create a smaller jar file?

I am creating a applet using java3d and the jar files add up to over 4meg ( j3dcore.jar j3dutils.jar vecmath.jar). Is there a way you can strip out only the classes your applet uses and create a smaller jar file so that the download isn't as big? Currently takes a long while for the applet to start because it downloads the Java 3D library in its entirety.

Most likely those classes that you use also use other classes that you don't use ...

Please help me to resolve listed issue.
Can I use Netscape client certificate on WLS?
Do I need to take any extra care while working with client cert?
    I appreciate your help.

Netscape cert type does not permit use for SSL clientTry using another certificate. Your certificate can't be used as a web browser client certificate.
