Application Builder Source File Settings

I've recently upgraded to the full version of LV 8.2 and purchased the license for the application builder. On the "Source File Settings" tab I would like the program to not run when opened, and not to show the tool or scroll bars. Although I've tried several different check, uncheck combination my final .exe alwyas has these options enabled. I checked my original VI properties and it is not set to run at start up. I'm not even sure what the "Value" highlight section is for. My program is a simple temperature monitor and aquisition program with no sub-vi's. What am I overlooking?

Source distribution, source file settings, files not goint to the desired destination directory

I am tring to set up a number of source distributions for a handful of unique but related programs in LabView 8.0.1. All of the programs have their own unique tasks to comple but they all use a set of basic sub vi's that I wrote. Basically I could have put all those sub vi's into a .lib file but chose not to for the sake of simplicity. Also each program calls a number of vi's from the set of LabView libraries. To summarize what I want to do with my distribution structure; I created four destination directories: First the top level destination directory, the top level vi of each program will live there. Second I made the Support Directory which contains all of the unique sub vi's that are required by the top level vi. Third I mad a Common Support directory which will contain all of the basic sub vi's that all of my programs use. And fourth I made a Library Support directory which will contain all LabView library vi's. The top level destination directory is superior to the other three directories and the other three directories are at a pier level.
My problem is when I assign the locations for the vi's in the Source File Setting category. The destination directory for all of my Dependencies vi's (basically all of the LabView library vi's) is not obeyed. I want all of those vi's to appear in my Library Support directory, but when I generate a preview they don't appear in the assigned directory. All other destination directories are obeyed and appear correctly. I do not know what I am doing incorrectly. I have attached a few screen shots to help explain my structure and where it is not working.

I just created a source distribution with specific folders and things seemed to work just fine for me. Please take a look at the attached document and let me know if you are experiencing the same thing, it is possible that I am missing your point.

LabView 2010 Application Builder for EXE Always Included files are not Included

In LabVIEW 2010 F2, When I am using the Application Builder to build an EXE file, I have listed 10 or so files to Be "Always Included". But when I Explore the directory where the EXE was built, those "Always Included" files are not there or in any subdirectory under the EXE file.
This frequently makes my EXE file not work properly because important files are missing. I have to spend extra debugging time to find out the the cause of my problem is missing files that the Application Builder should have transferred "Always".
Why did the Application Builder, when building an EXE target, not include the files that should be "Always Included"?
Why does the Application Builder ignore these files specifications?

The Build Directory.jpg file shows the file in the Build directory that were built.

The other subdirectories under the Build directory were created by me and do not include any files that were copied during the Build process.
So not ALL of the files that were included in the "Always Include" list were copied into the Build directory area as expected. ALL of the files that are listed as "Always Include" should be copied, if they exist. Those files existed when then were selected for the List and they existed at the time of the Build.
I can not include an example project that demonstrates this. I am prevented from doing so by the terms of an NDA. You are going to have to take my word that this event is real and happens the same way every time. This information should be sufficient for someone to investigate why do not ALL of the files listed in the "Always Include" list are copied into the Build directory area regardless of the file type or contents.

Application builder error 1041

Dear All,
I have a problem to build a application in Labview 8.5.
It's the first time that I try to build this application in fact it's the first application every I try to build.
I found the following problem.
Authentication: "Error Code Database.vi is password-protected. Enter the password to acces the block diagram."
I do not know the password for this file.
The building errors details I get are:

When I start looking for the file that causes the problems I find that it is "Get File Type.vi" it's protected.
This is an NI file and I do not know the password and I do not know why it is locked.
The VI general properties of the file are:

But that did not work for me. A build with a new file also gives the same error.
So I tried something else in the Build specification there is a menu "source file settings". There is a selection about passwords
You can choose 3 settings 1) No passord change 2) Remove password 3) Apply new password. I changed this setting from 2 to 1.
And I can build the project now. So I change back from 1 to 2 and I should get the error back again. And I did not. How can this happen?

Mike, you can't change the password if you don't know the old one. Why do you want to change the password? I do't wanna change the password. The application builder is asking for it and I do not have it. The same problem occured at thread http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=297099&requireLogin=FalseIt looks almost the same but the solutions there did not work. The problem kept occuring. So I tried someting else:
In the Build specifications there is a menu "source file settings" for your project files. I only have 1 main.vi project file
There is a selection about passwords for your source file settings. See attachment 3. You can choose 3 settings
1) No passord change
2) Remove password
3) Apply new password.
I changed this setting from 2 to 1.And I can build the project now. So problem solved.
Then I changed back from 1 to 2 and I should get the error back again. And it did not.
I do not understand why it works and I would like to.

Rebuild of Project not building all source files

Using 9i, I cleared all .class files from my target directory structure and then requested a Rebuild (right click project.jpr, click Rebuild project.jpr) of the entire project. I get a result that says there is one error (expected) and five warnings. When I look in the target library structure, I see that many of the .class files are not there.
I then do the same procedure for each package name (I'm showing the list of .java files using the Show Categories option), right clicking and rebuilding each package (over 50). This produces all the .class files.
Then, I can request a Rebuild of a given package on a subsequent date and JDeveloper will indicate that it compiled each of the source files in the package, but the create and modified dates of the .class files still show a previous date.
Can someone give a clue of what is going on? I expected Rebuild to build every class from every source for the entire project, when requested at that level. It certainly is NOT doing that for me.

I don't see anything on the Compile options that I would expect to affect this operation in this way.
No Ant involved. I'll just deal with it. I was hoping someone from Oracle might stop in here and be familiar with the issue.
As it is, I'm talking about recompiling a bunch of code that hasn't even changed. I just found it odd that it would report that it was compiling it, but not have any visible evidence to support the claim.

RH10 variable and build tag source file names

I'm using RH10 and outputting to WebHelp. My company requires that I archive project source files to our CVS via Eclipse. I am not using RoboSource_Control and must use the company's development resources for archiving.
Since archiving the initial project, I have been uploading only source files with modified dates.
However, I have discovered that the files I thought were storing user variables and build tags are not the correct files to archive. Since I am uploading all files with a newer date and that's not working, I need to know the user variable source file name and the build tag source file name that stores the currently defined variables and build tags.
I have already tried the WebHelp forum and was directed to this forum to pose the question because I'm looking for source file information instead of output file information.

Yes, Eclipse does work that way. However, we do not use our development directory as the local Eclipse repository. I need to move changed files to the local repository (stores all source files in the project) so that Eclipse can upload changes to the server. Yes, this is planned redundancy.
That said, it is not acceptable to spend the time copying all files in the large projects from the work folder to the local repository. I simply need to know which individual files to copy that include the currently defined variables and build tags. Note, we do not copy the SSL folder output files to our local source file repository, or other associated reference files that are not actually project source files.
Can you find someone who knows which files I need?

Folio Builder: An error has occurred opening the source file for the article layout.

I have been working on a Folio. When I sat down to work on my folio, I was instructed by indesign to update my Folio producer tools, which I did.
Since then I can no longer view any article layout from that folio in indesign. Indeed any folio that I create that does not reside on my desktop give the same problem. I can import articles, add articles and they all upload to the proper place at adobe and I can view them. But I simply cannot open them up through folio builder as I previously.
The exact error message is as below:
An error has occurred opening the source file for the article layout.
The InDesign file for the layout cannot be found.
Another strange thing that seems to be happening is that the folio will randomly reoder the articles in the folio.
I have dumped my indesign prefs, tried creating an entirely new project, made a new account and even reinstalled the entire software.
But the problem of opening an article that I have imported or added to a folio, simply not being found to open has got me stumped. I can't proceed with a major project until I can sort this out.
Can anyone help.

Watermark source file won't save in settings

I have successfully created several watermark images that have source files (both in PDF format and JPG format). But there is one that I cannot get to save. I have tried the image in both JPG and PDF formats, but for whatever reason, when I try to save the settings, the source file is not saved and it just comes up as blank text when I select it for use. I have tried over and over again to save this watermark.
As a result, whenever I want to apply this particular watermark, I have to go and browse for and find the file time and time again.
?? Any clue as to why this one won't save? Is there a maximum number of watermarks that can be saved?

You can look at the place where the settings are saved.
For Acrobat 8 and MS Vista the place is:
X:\Users\{user}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\Preferences\Watermark

Adobe Acrobat X - Saved Background Settings does not retain Source File

Hello,
I am using Adobe Acrobat X on windows 7.
I have a pdf file that I use as a background source file. When I select the Settings profile from the Saved Settings drop down it does not load in the Source File. It still has "From Color" selected and <No Source File Selected> is in the path location.
No matter how many times I add the file and click the save settings button it will not retain it
I've already tried both a 'repair' and 'reinstall' of the software.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

Folio Builder Error: Source Files Not Found

I'm having some weird issues with DPS that are preventing me from editing folios. Whenever I try to update, import or add an article to a folio (whether it's a new or existing folio), I get one of the below error messages saying that the source files cannot be found. However, I haven't moved any of my files. Also, it doesn't make sense that I get this error when creating a new folio and trying to import/add a new article as I'm inputting where the files are located.
I've also tried reinstalling the Adobe folio tools. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks for the help.

Fuzzpocket17's issue was found to be caused by the following:
He had a working install of InDesign and the Folio Producer tools when he left on vacation. When he came back, he did not. It turned out that his IT had converted his user account on his Mac to be a Managed Mobile account, synching their data to a new network volume named "Users". When he unmounts that volume, all his Folio Panel activities returned to normal. T
o see if you have a Managed, or Managed Mobile account, open the System Preferences and choose the Accounts pane. Look at the description under your account. Here is what a Managed Mobile account looks like:
Managed accounts have the ability to be restricted in many ways. One of those restrictions could be preventing the application from reading/writing to the CS<N>ServiceManager folder refernced in my earlier post. Again, if you find this to be the case, consult with your IT. You may need to revert to a non-Managed account to have the Folio Builder panel operate correctly, until your IT can ensure normal user/library file access.

Steps to ensure all Adobe Copyright requirements are met with Flash Builder generated source files?

I'm currently doing copyright scanning on our product to look for open source copyright banners, and to make sure we are correctly following all copyright requirements for our licensed software.
That said, our entire team uses licensed Flash Builder 4.7's to build our client in Flex. Several of the source files generated by the Flash Builder (especially skins) have Adobe Copyright banners on them.

I can't find any assistance or online help that outlines how I fulfill the "accompanying" portion of that clause. Is there something I can add to our arbitration file or documentation to satisfy that?

Read your posting too fast, sorry.
On the Mac, select a text file (.TXT file) in the Finder. Choose File > Get Info. In the Open With section, select the editor you want to use for TEXT files. Click Change All.
Sometimes, you have to do this with more than one TXT file, but it should work.

FYI, initially part of this project was developed in LabVIEW 7.1 and now I have
converted all the project files to LabVIEW 8.0. This was done by mass compiling and
saving all the VIs.
It is possible for me to build source distribution for some other programs. But I got the error while building source distribution for my current project. Same error was generated even while previewing the source distribution. This project contains some dynamic VIs. I had included them under the dynamic VIs and support files while creating EXE file. While building source distribution, i got an error message saying that :
"Unable to generate preview. An included VI or one of its dependencies does not exist. Open all Startup/Exported/Dynamically called VIs, recompile them (Ctrl-Shift Click the run arrow), and save them to update their dependencies.

For this error I rename the control, relink it in the code, and save the VI. Now I got an error message indicating different control. I was totally confused by this behaviour. What is the problem? Why the problem occured? What procedure to follow to avoid these kind of errors in future? I would be thankful, if I can get answers for my questions.

LV 8.6 application builder creates an empty installer

LV seems to create the installer O.K. At least there are no error messages. However, after I run the installer, the directory where the executable is supposed to be does not exist. There are no error messages when running the installer.

Activation of the activity fails u0096 no source files in the active workspace

Dear All,
Im working on a NWDI installation since last month. The NWDI server (NW2004s) has been installed and configured with the following parameters:
Some Details:
- Java Stack on SPS 12
- No complete Developer Workplace, we only use the Studio (SPS 12)
- OS: WIN 2003
- DB: Oracle 10g
- SDK: 2 SDK, Standard Edition x64 1.4.2_15
Installation Usages Types: DI, AS Java, EP Core, EP (EP for the Visual Composer)
Performed configuration steps:
- adaptation of VM parameter in the Visual Admin
- patched the NWDI Server and the Studio from SPS 9 to support package stack 12 + available single patches
- run the template installer => NWA with type DI Allinone run all post installation Steps for DI, CBS, CMS, DTR
- Oracle Parameters changed, User and Authorizations created and assigned (UME, J2EE Security roles, DTR => ACL List), SLD (Creation of a new Landscape), Configuration of the CBS with the VA
- Configuration of the Studio (SAP J2EE Engine (fill in the NWDI engine), Proxy Settings, Development Configuration Pool)
Development Steps for an example:
- Creation of a new software product (SLD)
- Namespace reservation on SLD => Application Context Root, Development Component Name
- Created a Domain and a Track on CMS
- Attached all Software components to the track (my own dc, SAP-JEE, SAP_Buildt, SAP_JTechs)
- Check-In the Software Components on Transport studio => CMS
- Moved the development configuration into Studio
- Created a ear- and a web-project => Display a JSP File (Its the same example like in the SAP Course TADM10)
- Check-in the activity under Open activities => Activate
My problem appears during the check-in phase in the studio. I was able to check-In the source files in to the inactive Workspace on the DTR, but the activation of the activity fails. (I thought that the build process runs automatically after the activation - also the movement from the source files from the inactive to the active workspace?).
I received no error message, but I cant find any source files in active workspace. The activity seems to be pending. I locate the request in the CBS, the request state is failed regarding the request type activate.
At the moment there is no separate runtime system assigned to the NWDI System.
Questions:
1. Have I forgotten an important configuration step?
2. Can I use the NWDI Server also as a runtime environment (DEV System)?
