HT5035 Had 25.00 on account from gift card, purchased one tv show for 2.99, now balance shows 15.86. Why?
Logged into itunes account and had balance of $25.00. Purchased one tv show for $2.99 and now shows balance of $15.86. How can I get this issue corrected?
Go to your Purchase History and review your purchases to make sure that you should indeed have the balance left you think you should. iTunes doesn't always refresh the balance it shows, so it's possible you spent the money and it just wasn't being reflected in the display. This display error can usually be corrected by logging out of the iTunes Store and then back in.
If you confirm that you should have a higher balance left but the iTunes Store isn't showing it correctly, go here:
iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

I redeemed my gift card on one computer, how do I transfer the balance to another?
I redeemed my gift card on one computer, but when I try to by music on my other computer, it asks for my credit card information. So I am guessing I need to some how transfer the balance on the card to the other computer? I assumed it would be there on both since it is the same account on both?

Did you get an email confirming the card had been successfully redeemed? Is it possible you've changed iTunes store since you redeemed the gift card? The gift card can only be used within the iTunes store it was purchased / redeemed. If you're still in the same store, then try logging out of your iTunes account and logging back in. That should reset the balance.
The balance should be visible when you're browsing within the store (on the bar towards the top of the screen on the right hand side - next to the ID you've logged in to the store with.
If you're still not happy with the results, the iTunes Store Billing support staff will be able to give you a definitive answer on your account balance. I don't know where you are, so here are links to the US and UK support pages:

I've never had a credit card on my iTunes account because I mostly purchase free apps and because I don't own a credit card. If I want to buy an app I use a family members Apple ID. I had two $10 iTunes gift cards and I put them as credits to my iTunes account. Now I'm trying to make an in-app purchase of something worth 19.99 and it says that my iTunes account has insufficient funds. The billing information appears and I choose "none" as I always have for it to charge it to my credit balance but again it says that I have insufficient funds. I checked in my iTunes account and it still says that I have a $20 credit balance.
You have a Puerto Rico address on your account ? From a quick search I've found one site from somebody in Puerto Rico that includes a screenshot for an app receipt showing tax of 7 cents added to a 99 cent purchase. Are you able to view the purchase history on the account that you've been using, and see what prices show on them (e.g. if the store's listed price or price plus tax) : Store > View Account menu option on a computer's iTunes, then 'see all' link next to the Purchase History section.

The amount you see on your account is referred to the amount of money that you got form iTunes gift cards you have now. It's not referring to the credit card -

When trying to buy music or books for my daughters ipod it wanted to charge credit card but i places a gift card on there and it doesn't want to take it from there? Can I delete this credit card? What do I need to do?
ThanksIf you are buying products as a GIFT, then it will charge your CC. You can't use a GIFT CARD to purchase another GIFT.

I had redeemed 2 $50.00 iTunes gift cards a few months ago. The last time that I checked my iTunes balance, it was $100.00. I logged in to iTunes yesterday and the $100.00 balance isn't showing up. Check your account's purchase history : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store - Apple Support
If nothing shows then try logging out and back into your account on the computer/device that you are using.
Neither updating your account id and/or password, nor deauthorising your account, nor deleting content from a device or computer's iTunes library will affect your balance -
Why can't we use iTunes gift cards with family sharing? After Christmas, we now have lots of account credit we can't use. Very frustrating. There is no option found for using account credit.
I just logged out of my daughter's account and back in, and now it works. Deducted from gift card account balance. So I hope this is resolved.
