  • Changes of Fiscal Year between two different countries

    Dear Friends,
In our US client they have office in India. Fiscal Year of United States is 1st October to 30th September. But their India office maintaining fiscal year 1st October to 30th September. Now they want to change US fiscal year(1st October to 30th Sept) to Indian fiscal year as 1st April to 31st March.
Kindly guide me the entire procedure of Fiscal Year changes from US Fiscal Year to Indian Fiscal Year.
    Regards,
    Samrat

    1. First you need to create a variant lets say z1 which must be year dependent from october to march.
    2. Due to this the entries posted during these periods the fiscal year will be a head.
    For example :
If you want to change in this calendar year from the month of october.
earlier it was 1st october 2008 to 30th september 2009 and the fiscal year is 2009.
Now the fiscal year will become 2010 for the periods october 2009 to march 2010.
In transaction ob29 create a new variant lets suppose z1 as year dependent and give calendar year as 2009 and maintain periods as
    Month     Day     Period     Year shift
    1     31     4     0
    2     28     5     0
    3     31     6     0
    4     30     1     0
    5     31     2     0
    6     30     3     0
    7     31     4     0
    8     31     5     0
    9     30     6     0
    10     31     1     1
    11     30     2     1
    12     31     3     1
Click on Shortened Fiscal Years and give the calendar year 2009 and give 6 as no.of posting periods.
Note : Try to maintain periods for the previous year also 2008 as you might be facing problems in asset accounting.

  • How to change the fiscal year in the controlling area?

I want to change the fiscal year mentioned in the controlling area. The problem is that the controlling area is assigned to a company code and number ranges have been defined and cost center hierarchy has been created.
Please suggest me what to do?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
If its a Productive system - You cant change the FY.. You need to take SAP SLO Service.. Its a chargeble one
If its a Test system and data is posted, then you need to delete the data 1st of all... I advise create a new contr area / comp code
"Activate components & Control Indicators" - Just COPY 2011 and make it 1900 or any year of your choice

  • Prerequisites and requirements for a change of Fiscal Year in BW?

    Hello:
We are planning for a change in Fiscal year. Our current Fiscal year starts from Apr 2010 - Mar 2011. But the change will be or should be done in Feb 2011 which means the new Fiscal year will start in Feb 2011.
What are the implications for this change? What prerequisites and other requirements should be taken into account.
It would be a great help if you could give me a procedure for achieving the above.
    Thanks in Advance.

Once you transfer global settings from source system, I hope BI should work fine.
Chk the point 1 about global settings and related tables listed in below link.

  • Change in Fiscal Year Variant Causes Cube to become inactive

In Maintain Fiscal Year variant, we attempted to change the Fiscal Periods to reflect the 2007 Fiscal Calendar. When we saved it, it caused the Update Rules for our Infocube to become inactive. I need to know how to reactivate them or what to do. The Error message is saying that there is no routine created for the object. How do I recreate the routine and reactive the Update Rules?
    We are using BW 3.1

    Hi David,
Whenever you change a MetaData Object, BW will automatically deactivate everything that relies on that object to prevent system instability.  In this case, your Update Rules and InfoCube (and MultiProviders if you use them) were deactivated.  In most cases, simply reactivating them will correct the problem.
Judging from your post, this isn't the case.  What did you do to the InfoObject that required reactivation of the InfoObject?  You may want to check inside the Update Rules to see if BW removed the connection that you had before.  I've seen that happen as well.

  • Change of  fiscal year in number range

    Hello,
Currently my number range 01 is defined till year 2015. Now business wants to change this and start from the first number in the fiscal year 2010.
My question is how can I change my number range from this.
    01  2015  1000000    2000000     1000115
    to this
    01 2009  1000000    2000000     1000115
    01 2010  1000000    2000000     0
We are currently in FY 2010. I cannot delete the line containing 2015 because it is currently used. Therefore I tried to create new line for 2010 but SAP continued to select numbers from the line with 2015.

Once you transfer global settings from source system, I hope BI should work fine.

  • APO-DP : Change in Fiscal Year Variant for the year 2008

As per earlier Fiscal Year variant configuration, the data has been forecasted in APO system till the end of Year 2008. But recently the fiscal year variant configuration modified in R/3 which has been impacting APO-DP storage buckets which are not matching with that of earlier fiscal year variant. So, there is a mismatch in the storage bucket profile where in the data already stored in “Weekly, Monthly and Posting Period” based on the earlier Fiscal year 2008 configuration.
Now the system is not allowing to do any Interactive Planning.
The business would like to use the latest fiscal calendar and also not ready to loose the forecasted data for the year 2008. So, we are not in a position to deactivate and reactivation of Planning Area and also we are not using back-up infocubes functionality.
Please update me if anybody experienced this type of situation or know the solution.

I think your suggestion should work but it takes more resource time and need more database size.
    I am thinking to retain some important forecast keyfigures data in the following workaround method;
    1) Now the Planning Area Initialized for 2yrs historical + 1Yr forecast horizon
    2) Run first set of new macros to copy from year (say 2008) to year (say 2006)
    3) Re-initialize the Planning Area (Jan'2006 to Dec'2007)
    4) Re-build the New Fiscal Calendar from R/3
    5) Re-initialize the Planning Area for history and forecast horizon (ex: from Jan'2006 to Jan'2009)
    6) Run second set of new macros to copy back ( ex: from 2006 to Year 2008) and wipeout the duplicate records in 2006
    7) The above macros can be utilized to run every year end when ever the new fiscal calendar introduced
    Suggestions are welcome

  • FI-AA Impact on changing the year dependent fiscal year period from 445 to 435

    Dear Friends,
May I have your comment on the impact of below change
Currently using Year Dependent fiscal year variant K5 and period end closing is *445
future we want to use the same fiscal year dependent variant K5 , however the period end closing will be *435
*445 Periods - 1st month 4th sat, 2nd month 4th sat, 3rd month 5th sat will be the closing periods
similarly for the rest of the months in a year
*435 Periods -  1st month 4th month, 2nd month 3rd sat, 3rd month 5th sat will be the closing periods

    Hi Sanjai,
SAP do not recommend to change a Fiscal Year Variant that has already
been assigned to a company code and has already some postings. This
    will may create database inconsistencies
Please check the following SAP notes which will give you an
idea of some adverse effects that may happen as a result of a change

The change of the fiscal year or the change of the fiscal periods
has an effect in many modules, for example, in FI, FI-AA, FI-SL, FI-LC,

  • Change fiscal year to 2006 in Asset Management : error in year-end closing

    SAP version: 4.0B
Transaction Codes used: Year-end closing – AJAB, Fiscal year change – AJRW
We are trying to change the fiscal year to 2006 in Asset Management.
I tried to change the fiscal year to 2006 for the company code 0055 using transaction code AJRW. The test run has displayed an error message “Fiscal year change in co. code 0055 1 possible only after year-end closing 2004 2’.
I have used the transaction code OAAQ to find the out the fiscal year, the closing for depreciation area is successfully performed.
Unfortunately it is still showing ‘2003’ which should have been 2004 for company code 0055.
I tried to close the fiscal year 2004. The test run has completed successfully. I have scheduled the ‘RAJABS00’. The program has executed successfully with no errors or warnings.
The closing for depreciation area (Transaction – OAAQ) is still showing 2003 for company code 0055, which should have been changed to 2004.
I am new to Asset Management. Can you please give some suggestions on how to fix the problem and change the fiscal year to 2006.
    Thank you,
    Vidya

    Hi,
Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
I have used transaction OAAR to check if any area is still open for previous years.
Surprisingly! The areas are closed only till 2003.
Can you please let me know what to do (transaction codes - programs) to close the areas for fiscal year 2004.
I am new to Asset Management. I think you are good in Asset Management. Can you please give some suggestions on how to close the fiscal year 2004.
Can you please let me know if I have to run any other transactions other than closing the areas before running the transaction to close the fiscal year 2004.
    Thank you very much.
    Sincerely,
    Vidya

  • Fiscal Year Variance Change affected AA Balance and Recalculation of Values

    Hi Experts,
I have a scenario where we change the Fiscal Year Variance on certain Company Codes. The Fiscal Year Changes were on Period 12 from Nov 26th to Dec 31st (last Fiscal Year Var was until Dec 25th), and Period 1 of next Year will already start at 1st of Jan (Last Fiscal Year Variance was from Dec 26th) until 26th of Jan.
We encountered a discrepancy on some reports especially on the FI-AA Balance Report, where as some posted entries for the Assets were not included.
Then I investigated. I found out that the Recalcualtion of Values is always based on the entries of table ANEP where the fiscal period 2011 did not include some postings done on th 30th of Dec because of fiscal year variance change.
In the Asset Values of the asset, it shows no discrepancy there although the info-dialogue box is appearing to recalculate the values of the asset. They already posted in Period 11 of this year after the changed fiscal year variance without recalculating and currently the planned values are different. The users are okay with the posted depreciation run since the asset balance per year is still correct. But if we recalculate the posted entries for asset acquisition on Dec 30th, the acq amount/asset balance will already be incorrect.
My Current solution is to enhance the function module FIRST_DAY_IN_PERIOD_GET to show that if the values of Fiscal Year = 2011 and Period = 1, then it will get the date 26th of December 2010. I know that this Function Module is widely used for all modules but since we already changed Fiscal Variances maybe this will also correct some reports or functions that includes Fiscal Starting Dates.
Or are there any solution for this scenario? Is this solution advisable?
Edited by: Cecilio Cruz II on Dec 6, 2011 8:32 AM

Have you done the impact analysis of changing the fiscal year variant directly? I would suggest you may need to raise an OSS note with SAP. The change must have affected different areas.

  • Fiscal year change in AA

    Dear All,
We wanted to run the asset history list report (AR01) as of 31.03.2007. The system is giving an error message saying that "Fiscal Year Change is not done". Please confirm if we can take this report without doing Fiscal year change or is there any alternate report which we can take for asset history list. Also please confirm whether we will be able to make any postings for 2007 fiscal year like depreciation run and auc capitalisation once we change the Fiscal year to 2008. Do we need to do the fiscal year change only after all the entries pertaining to assets are passed? What is the exact implication of doing Fiscal year change?
    Regards
    Suresh

    Hi,
Doing FY Change via AJRW doesnot harm. What matters (capitalisation, depreciation run etc.,) is AJAB - Year End Close. AJRW for FY 2008 can be carried out to view the reports.
When was the last AJAB and AJRW done for CCode in question? Check using OAAQ/OAAR.
    Rgds.
