Application dont act as expected: bluetooth

Hello!
My first post here!
Here is my problem. I have a game (stupid game) in j2me. I'm trying to add the bluetooth to the same application (in order for later on to do a "race" and send a basic winning message )
Both codes worked: I managed to send a stupid message in the first appli with bluetooth and my game worked.
However when I tried to mixed to two codes:
I cant get the appli to work:
when I click on YES to allow to connect nothing happens. i dont even have any error messages!!??
I believe i have either a problem with a thread or with the commands that are not recognised??

If you're saying that System Preferences crashes when you try to assign a keystroke to the above script, saved as an application, then it's not because of the script. Crash dumps aren't especially useful except to the developer of the application that crashed, and not always even then. Are there any log messages associated with the crash? Can you assign a keystroke to any other item? Can you do so as a different user?

Open & Save on many applications dialouges acting very strange lately!

This is a weird situation to explain because it is so odd to me, and I've never seen anything like it.
On applications like Mail, Photoshop, Text Edit, and other programs (both Apple and non-Apple) have been giving me very odd behaviors when saving and opening files while scrolling through directories to find the correct directory to save in/open from.
It's difficult to explain this behavior without a video tutorial but I will give it a shot. I will walk you through it. I am in Photoshop now. I have a file open and I want to save it for web. I hit AppleShiftS and the menu pops up. I hit Save. The dialougue comes up. I am currently in the viewing in detailed view (the button on the left where you choose which way to view your dialogue, the one with the horizontal lines going across). Now first of all, none of the dialogues on my computer lately ever "remember" where I saved last. You know how when you save into a certain directory often, when you save again, it should remember so you don't have to click on eighteen folders to get back to where you were? Well, this doesn't happen anymore for me. ANYWAY, so I click on my external drive. On the right, the contents of the root directory of my external pop-up. Here is where it gets weird. I double-click on BLACK SEA (a folder for my design company, that is called Black Sea) to open it. Instead of taking me to that directory, it basically displays every folder inside BLACK SEA underneath it. Now, keep in mind, there are no arrows next to the folders. It isn't collapsing/expanding the folder like it does when arrows or plus signs are next to folders. It just displays the contents underneath, with no indentation. So, I keep clicking on folders to get to the specific folder I want to save in (this means double-clicking about 5 more times, to get to the desired folder). As I am doing this, that thing I explained is happening, and sometimes, when I double-click, it doesn't open the folder. It just freezes and doesn't respond. Either that, or it will open it, but display the contents of the folder it belongs in, instead of the contents of the folder I'm clicking on.
Okay, you're probably really confused now, aren't you? I don't blame you.. it's hard to explain what is happening. Basically, to sum it up, my open/save dialogues are acting fishy and not acting the way they should. I'm pretty computer literate, I am a pro graphic designer and web designer so I know what I am doing. I have tried restarting and repairing permissions. I think I may have to run first aid? What do you all think? Ever had similar experiences?
And before you blame it on photoshop... remember, it does this in mail when choosing attachments, or in Text Edit when saving or opening files, and other programs like Cyberduck (FTP) and my HP Scanner Utility when saving what I scanned.
A few key things to remember that the Finder application does NOT do this (and for that I am THANKFUL because since I can't for the life of me save a file where I want it saved, I end up saving it as close to where I can get it, then go into Finder and drag it to it's proper folder since I can't accurately save in these programs I'm having trouble with).
Also, in the other viewing option (the button next to the one with the horizontal lines in the saving/opening dialogue), this works properly. This is the method I have to use in order to save, because it behaves as it should (expanding/collapsing folders in the window to the right of the folder I am clicking on). But personally, I hate this view, and would rather use the other one.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. I am sure you do because I wrote a novel and I know it is confusing but I did my best.

Have you tried using your system restore disk to check for errors on the internal drive using Disk Utility. (Not the Disk Utility in your Applications folder). If not, shut down your Mac. All at the same time, press the Power Button, hold down the C key and insert your system restore disk, probably number 1. Keep holding down the C key until you see the Apple logo on the screen, then let go.
At this point, go to the Menu and click Utilities/Disk Utility. When DU opens, select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, make sure First Aid is selected then click Verify. If DU reports errors, click Repair. After that's finished, Quit Disk Utility from the Menu, then click Utilities in the Menu again and then click Startup Manager. When that window opens, select MacintoshHD and click Restart. That will boot you back up from your internal drive. See if you see a difference.
If that doesn't help, I see you are running 10.4.8. You are two updates behind. Run Software Update from the Apple Menu. After you run the update, run Disk Utility (from your Applications/Utility folder) and Repair Disk Permissions. (Always do that after a software update) Reboot and see if that helped.

Can my Mac act as a Bluetooth headset?

I would like to pair my iPhone to my Mac, so I can answer phone calls from my Mac without picking up the phone. Is that possible?
I have tried the pairing, but iPhone refuses to recognize MacBook Pro has a valid Bluetooth device.

The App Store reviews are all for older versions, and the iPhone 4 failure reports were from just two people. A third person reported no problems with using it with an iPhone 4. There were some audio problems in earlier versions that could make it look like it just didn't work. I exchanged some e-mails with the developer several weeks ago about intermittent audio, and he was very responsive. 1.2.20 doesn't appear to have any problems.
It works perfectly with my 3G, but I don't have an iPhone 4, so I can't tell you for certain that it works. But, if you go directly to the developer's web site that I linked earlier, you can download the application and try it free for 21 days. Then you can see for yourself if it works for your needs, rather than relying on just the App Store reviews.

Bluetooth desktop java application cant grap my USB bluetooth adapter

Dear all, I want to develop an application that can use bluetooth to send file to mobile user. I have make use of aventana bluetooth classes to call for the LocalDevices.getLocalDevice()
but unfortunately, the device that it return to me is not my USB bluetooth adapter (the device name called "localhost", which i think is just a virtual bluetooth devices)
may i know how can i point my java program to make use of my usb bluetooth instead of that "localhost" ?

jdk 1.5.0_09
netbean 5.5 (with mobility pack)
some other forum ppl, telling me that i can only use the winxp sp2 bluetooth stack, request me to remove the additional driver. I did that, and the result is....my usb bluetooth become an unrecognized device....

Java application to act as background job on SAP J2EE server

Hi Folks,
I have a java class(assume, ClassA) in a DC. This class has a method to call a Web Service.
I have to create one more DC, which contains my Java application.
This application should make calls to ClassA's method after every 15 minutes.
I guess I will have to create a servlet for this. Also, I think I can use java.util.Timer for making the regular calls.
Can you please suggest me the ways to proceed on this?

Yes, we too have a cluster environment. In our case, this scheduler has to run only on one server node.
As per the technical requirements, I went ahead with a Servlet application.
The scheduler is running fine, except one problem.
I need to call an EJB method deployed on the same server.
Below is the code snippet.

I am getting ClassCastException at the above line.
I am sure that the local home interface is correct and belongs to the same EJB.

Why do my applications dont start anymore?

When I try to start an application, during the loading proces the action is stopped and I get into the main menu again.
I already turned off and on my ipod but the problem remains. (software version 2,2,1)

LabVIEW 8.6 propositions on how to build application that acts like reader form specified field dependent on which values been selected

Hello everyone!
I am newbie to LabVIEW with some previous experience programming in different languages.
My goal is to build the application that upon my selection needs to give specific values from previously filled and prepared file.
For example, I have different types of operations (milling, drilling, turning..) and different grades (type) of steels (Uddeholm steel grades: NIMAX, IMPAX...and about 40 of them). For every operation there are different input data (Coated insert, uncoated). Based of those information application should give out cutting speed and feed rate data that are stored in some file. I understand I can do it in Excel spreadsheet or LV spreadsheet, I would prefer LV because of portability to systems without Office installed on them. I also understand that all those issues concerning input data for output results I can easily solve with case scenario.
Main issue is decision between different types of files that I can easily address like 2D matrix to get required data, which and how to do it.
I would like to know what I should acknowledge first before doing any further work?
And does someone have some simply prepared VI on which I can work my way on?

This application that I am working on is completely static due to communication. It simply needs to provide entry in table depending on selected inputs in front panel, and of course display it front panel. I know what I need to do, as well as the structure. Only thing that I don't know yet how to do it in LabVIEW.
When I mentioned "LV spreadsheet" I meant on read from file option, you got that right.. The thing is that now I have large amounts (not large in acquisition data point of view, 5 spread sheets, with 45 rows and 15 columns) of data saved in Excell, and my goal would be to get that data in LabVIEW application, for the ease of access. And still leave that xls file as is, due to all connections that he have with smaller xls files. So in compact version of the story I am going to use save as comma separated (or tab, that depends of course) values from Excell with or without extra editing of created file in order to load that file into prepared program structure in LabVIEW. After I manage to do that, of course I will work my way for all other extras that I am gonna put eventually in program structure. So this would be like a backbone, I know it sounds simple. As a matter of fact I would probably be finnished allready in VB but highest demand is to do this in LabVIEW, and I am fully down with that.

My mail application is acting crazy.

When I try to delete messages it tells me they can not be moved to the trash because an item is there already there
or it quits unexpectedly.
“37900.emlx” couldn’t be copied to “Messages” because an item with the same name already exists.

Exactly.
That is why I say it is acting crazy.
When I attempt to delete from any inbox accross all accounts
it gives the same error code.
Wether I highlight drag and drop, right click delete, or move manually one by one to trash.

[solved] applications dont follow the standard appearance

hello everyone,
my spacefm and evince have a very black appearance and the fonts in searching lines are black too (and sometimes the menu toolbar), whcih makes it unreadable. i have been playing around with themes in the lxappearance config, which seems to change something, but its still very blackish. is it possible that there is some application dependent configuration and in case yes, where?

Applications Dont Connect To Internet

I don't remember what I did, but multiple programs (ie: software update, itunes, twitterific, adium) wont even try to connect to the internet. I can't figure out to see what the problem is. Other programs work fine (ie: firefox, mail, WoW) but these others simply wont connect anymore. I ran onyx, but that didnt fix anything. If anyone has some suggestions or advice please feel free!

Welcome to Apple Discussions:
Check your console logs for indications of what is happening or not happening.
Run console.app and search the results for information.
You can also create a new user and see if the problems occur with that account.

Keyword Search not acting as expected.

I'm using RoboHelp8 and generating WebHelp Pro to RoboServer8. I'm trying to improve the end user's experience when using RoboHelp's keyword search. I've found that even though I add a keyword term to a particular topic, that it does not appear in the list of topics returned. In some cases, no topics are returned, even though I'm positive I have a assigned that keyword to plenty of topics.
Anyone out there experiencing this same problem? Am I missing something here? I switched from FlashHelp Pro to WebHelp Pro because the search feature in Flash wasn't working much at all. The keyword search works much better in WebHelp Pro, but still trying to figure out this particular issue.

I think before anything worthwhile can be offered, we need to define exactly what it is you are doing and where you are doing it.
Where specifically did you add the keyword?
In the Topic Properties on the General tab in the Keywords section?
In the Topic Properties on the Index tab?
In the Project Set-up pod in the External Content Search area? (RoboHelp 9)
In the Index designer pod?
Depending on your answer we can then move forward with sleuthing what may be happening.

Most specifically Gephi 0.8.2 has stopped working.

I had some problems with Java too.
Apple released an updated Java package on June 18, 2013 and that seemed to address my problem.
