Kindly suggest

Check if you have all the sap processes running or not ? (ps -ef | grep <sid>adm).
If you dont find them ,  check the logs under /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/work , you surely should find why they got killed     after the start.
If you see the processes running , that means your apps instance is not communicationg with  the message server , in that case you should check your profile ,etc.

Neel

  • The application server is down at this time

I am getting the following error message when I try to access PeopleSoft via PIA:
"The application server is down at this time.
CHECK APPSERVER LOGS. THE SITE BOOTED WITH INTERNAL DEFAULT SETTINGS, BECAUSE OF: bea.jolt.ServiceException: Invalid Session"
    1. In configuration.properties file, PTWEBSERVER password is encrypted, the userID is not locked-out, even the table PSOPRDEFN says the password is encrypted
    2. I tried using IP address and computer name in configuration.properties file, both the ways I am not able to resolve the issue
If you have any ideas please let me know.

Might sound silly , but stop webserver and appserver . Boot appserver , boot webserver using startpia.cmd to see if webserver can communicate with appserver.

  • Application Server are down

    Hi,
We have installed our ECQ system on MSCS cluster. We have installed all the different SAP instances on different server such as
Database Instance, Centeral Instance, Applicaiton I instance, Application 2 instance. After the install, we were able to bring up the database, centeral instance and only one application instance up simaltanously. Howevever, we can't bring up the 2nd application instance up. When ever we bring up the second application instance up, the first one dies. When we bring up the first one, the second one dies. Now, I am dispatcher and Server process for the Java engine for Central instance not coming up any more. I have attached the logs for the dispatcher of the JAVA for Central Instance. After that, i need to figure out how to bring up both of the application server (JAVA+ABAP) stack. Below is the dispatcher developre trace for Java of Central instance.

  • Application server shuts down when solaris terminal closes

I'm running the latest version of solaris and have Glassfish v2 installed. I use the solaris terminal to navigate to the startup scripts and start the appserver... it starts up fine. For whatever reason, when I now close the terminal window, the appserver shuts down. Is this normal? How can I avoid this?
    Thanks

some of that may be up to the application and how it can be started. im not familiar with this so if you have the doc for it handy, take a look at it looking for running as a daemon or service.

  • The application server is getting down

    Hi all,
Installed demo of FSCM9.1 on windows-2008R2.The machine has also a system DB of the same FSCM9.1.All the three components are on the same machine.Configured application server(with large template),web server.Iam able to login to PIA successfully. But, after few minutes iam automatically signed off when iam accessing the application and iam getting the error"The application server is down".I want to tell you that my PT was on 8.51.08 before installing the demo database i.e.My PT was patched soon after the installation of system DB.So, my doubt is that whether i have to run some scripts from the patch document on the Demo DB installation?Pls help. Thanks in advance.

    Hi all,
I got this fixed. The action plan was to use a different web profile other than the default(PROD) during the installation of PIA.

  • Application Server Down

    Hello,
I'm running a virtual machine from the HCM 9.1 PIA server template downloaded from edelivery. I used the "On The Peoplesoft Road" blog as guidance.
    http://gasparotto.blogspot.com/2009/11/peoplesoft-vm-about-pia-image.html
Both the HCM and AB template vm's are running. When I look at the appserver domain status, all processes appear as idle (a total of 15 processes).
When I run the startPIA.sh script and try to login to the application at http://<appserver_ip>:8000/ps/signon.html I get prompted with "Application Server is down at this time".
    PIA_stderr.log is empty

Is there any other ip/port configuration I should worry about?

Solved, I just had to configure the application server system firewall and add the JSL port as trusted. Just thought I should post back.

  • Functionalities Available if Server Goes Down?

Hello! As a structural question...... I have a web server that holds my web application (includes My Sites), and an application server with CA and all of the other services.
Suppose the web server goes down. Does that mean my users no longer have access to the site, their profile, and their document libraries?
Conversely, if the application server goes down, will my users still have access to the site, but none of the services will work? (IE. Will the site still communicate with the databases to pull documents information from their documents library; I just can't
    use search, etc.)?
    Thank you!

Suppose the web server goes down. Does that mean my users no longer have access to the site, their profile, and their document libraries?
Correct. If the server hosting the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application Service goes down then you will lose all access to the sites.
    Conversely, if the application server goes down, will my users still have access to the site, but none of the services will work? (IE. Will the site still communicate with the databases to pull documents information from their documents library;
I just can't use search, etc.)?
    Thank you!
    Again correct.
Depending on what exactly you've put on the App tier and on the WFE tier you may still have working sites. If there's a component that is needed to render a page such as the MMS or Excel Services that runs on the App tier then that page will throw an error
but the general document library pages and so on will probably still work for the most part.

  • Expired Tasks not firing after Application Server restart

    Hi all,
We have a problem with some production instances and their expiration times. The application server was down due to a power failure and did not come back up until this morning. By this time, many human workflow instances had expired. The dehydration has been updated to set the tasks as EXPIRED but there is no process flow any more in our BPEL. The BPEL is awaiting an Asynchronous call back from the TaskService. Does anybody know how we can continue the process flow?
We have tried using the worklist API's, setting the duration to a lower value (ie a minute) and the re-initiating the workflow but we want them to expire now (ASAP)
    Thank in you advance
    Jason

After redeploy, check if your web application's
target is configured for the virtual server you
    created.
Applications --> Web Applications --> [your web app]
    --> Targets
If not, you should update the target and review your
redeploy script. This web application is a part of enterprise application. After deploy it's not in Web Applications but in Etnerprise Applications. There are 2 components in enterprise app - EJBModule and WebModule. I did't find anything about target there. No one option which I can set to my virtual server.

  • Application server monitor

My requirement is to develop an application which monitors all application servers (E.G. database servers, websphere etc) .
    What i did is :::
For each application server, there is a socket created and if it fails to connect to the respective application server(running on a spec port) , i deduce that application server is down and if connects, the application server is up... And i finally close my socket...
This is the process i am doing. for e.g. There are some 100 application servers In that case My application will create 100 sockets to monitor the applicaiton.. That takes some time probably 15-20 sec to display the status..
Is there any better way to monitor the application servers for this requirement so that i consume less resources and experience a better response time..
Help me if u have any ideas !!!
    Thanks.

Is there any better way to monitor the application
servers for this requirement so that i consume less
resources and experience a better response time..That depends on the applications that you need to monitor, but basically that's about how you'd do it.
You can periodically poll each application and only display the result of the last poll to the user. This way your user never has to wait for your program to poll each application.
Additionally you could send out allerts this way if any application is outside of it's defined parameters.

  • Adding Application Server

I couldn't find any resources on Google.... so please advise if possible :)
Given a farm with only one application server, I know that if that server goes down, Central Administration is not accessible. If I wanted to make that tier safer, would it be advised to join a second application server to the farm? If so, how would I make
it so that if the first application server went down, the second one can still have a CA instance?
    Thank you so much :)

Yes you can add a second application server to host the CA for high availiability. You have to start the Central Administration service on the second application server (and other services running on your first app server since you plan
for high availiability) and you might want to configure the alternate access mapping accordingly.
You can read more info here: http://www.harbar.net/articles/spca.aspx

  • How can we handle in flex application if the server is down?

how can we handle in flex application if the server is down?

    You and me both.
As ambiguous as the original question was, I think he was just asking how to handle a server exception and I would suggest generally just using a Alert.show("your specific message (eg.  The server is currently unavailable)") in the place where you handle the fault return from your service or http call.  I'm sure there are more complicated messaging frameworks or approaches, but that seems to be enough for my apps.

    Hello,
to which directory have you unzipped the Files? I would suggest C:\temp because there are problems with long filenames. Have you tried to reboot and then disconnect Drive M:?

  • Deployment of Web Application when the managed Server is down .....

Part of our installation, we want to deploy our web application on to a managed server.
So, we use the JMX API calls to deploy the web application. But, at the time of this deployment the managed server is not brought up. So, our expectation was that when the managed server is brought up later, it will automatically STAGE the web application from Admin Server and then, deploy it in the managed server.
But, what is happending is that the web application is not being deployed to the managed server (even though the web application is configured to be deployed in the specified managed server in the config.xml and it is set as the default application of the managed server application).
We are using WebLogic 7.0 SP2 on RedHat Linux 7.2.
Can anyone help to deploy web application on to a managed server when the managed server is down ?
