Change port used to send SMTP e-mail

I am trying to send e-mail notifications using a .vi.  My company has blocked SMTP port 25  to prevent SPAM.  My IT has told me that there is another port I can use to send e-mail.  It is possible for me to change, IN LABVIEW, the port used to send e-mail?
Thank you.

Without modifying NI's SMTP library the answer is no. The port they use (25, standard SMTP port) is hardcoded in their library.

  • Can't use the "send by e-mail" button on forms created in Acrobat Pro 9 with Firefox

I created a form in Acrobat Pro 9.5.2 with a "send by e-mail" button as usual (not using LiveCycle Designer). Since a few months, users cannot send forms using that button USING FIREFOX works fine in Explorer. I've been creating and using those forms since 2 years whitout any problems but now this is A BIG PROBLEM for our office as all our reservation forms uses this technology.
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. create a form using Acrobat Pro. add an action button " send a form". send the Entire PDF form not just FDF. go in advance tool to give all rights to end-users (in French it's "étendre les fonctions d'adobe reader" I think it’s enable the usage rights for Reader ion English.)
2.publishing the form on my website (or send by e-mail to someone who use reader)
    3. filling the form
    Results:
when the user fill the form he can't send it by e-mail using the button. Nothing happens when hitting that button. It is not possible to save the document as well. Nothing can be done, not even printing or saving it. I've tried almost all browsers I know and nothing works.
    Expected results:
the form should be send by e-mail (as an attachment in general) like before. please help me! this is really important, our office have a lot of calls and we are just 2 people here (non-profit organization). should we buy Acrobat Pro X ?
I can send you the form, my e-mail is rgelinas at canadianclub-montreal dot ca
    thanks all!

When your customers opened the PDF form (which was as an email attachment) on iPads, it is highly likely that Apple Mail (not Adobe Reader for iOS) was displaying the preview of the PDF form.   Please note that Apple products on iPad/iPhone (e.g. Apple Mail, iBooks, Safari) do not render field contents or annotations (sticky notes, highlight, underline, strikeout, freehand drawing, etc.) in PDF documents.
The Mail sections of the following FAQ documents describe how to open PDF attachments in Adobe Reader for iOS.
For iPad, see How to get PDF documents into Adobe Reader for iOS (iPad on iOS 7 version)
For iPhone, see How to open PDF documents in Adobe Reader for iOS (iPhone on iOS 7 version)

  • Trigger changes to T000 and send an e-mail

    Dear all,
I've enabled the table logging for our R/3 system (ECC 6.0 EHP6), activating the rec/client paramenter for the productive client; because I need to monitor the changes to T000 table.
Is there a way with "standard" components (I don't want to write any ABAP program) to define a workflow that "triggers" the "change event" and sends an e-mail to an external address?
    Thanks,
    Claudio

    Hi Claudio
You can try the event approach mentioned here:

  • 7230: sending SMTP e-mail, **bleep** is hosting-op...

    Hello,
For my e-mail, I have access to an SMTP server which requires authentication for outgoing mail.
However all mail sent from my 7230 do not come from the phone itself and ignores my settings.
-> problem 1: the sender address on the SMTP envelope shows as: SRS0=uFHK0pop=WG=domain.com=[email protected]
Many SMTP receiving sites will reject mail from this sender address, as the sending domain 'SMTP1.SUW.HOSTING-OPS.COM' returns a DNS error. (does not resolve)
-> problem 2 : what is this man-in-the-middle intrusion ? If I configure a sender address and a SMTP server with authorization, why does the phone set establish a conversation with a site that has nothing to see  ? Why is my sender address replaced with an invalid address ? The IP address from where the e-mail originates is not my phone IP address. This is also troublesome.
I would be glad to receive any useful information.

    Hello
You said that you have changed your internet connection. If you mean that you have changed your ISP, and this problem rose right after that, your new ISP may have blocked SMTP connections. Some ISPs do this to prevent sending spams via email clients. Please
verify this via your ISP administrator/help desk.
Please further note that you can use ports other than 25 ONLY if your email server is configured to support them. For example, Gmail only supports Secure (SSL) connections on port 465 for outgoing emails, and nothing else! (SSL 995 for incoming, and again
nothing else!) When using secure ports, you need to check "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)" for incoming server and/or select appropriate item in "Use the following type of encrypted connection" option for outgoing server
(These options may differ depending on your outlook version. These are for Outlook Professional 2010). Otherwise, your server will not respond your request. I may be able to give you more help if you tell me what email service are you exactly using.

  • Sending smtp e-mail

Do you know any working and checked solution to send e-mail via smtp from the servlet? I've found library commons-email-1.1 but it's makes a lot of problems in use with some servers (ssl etc). I'd be extremly thankful for source code example how to use that with f.e. gmail. Thanks

This is told you before: [http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10527397#10527397]. Why did you ignore it?

  • Cannot send SMTP through Outlook

I cannot send mail through Outlook when I am connected to my WRVS4400N router.  If I drop the router it sends fine so it's not my ISP.  I can also telnet to the SMTP server.  Any ideas???  I have gone back to factory defaults and still nothing.  I am trying to use a godaddy relay on port 25.  Someone please help.

Don't know if you resolved your issues yet , but I was having the same problem. Heres what I posted. I've been reading these forums for some help regarding not being able to send email from Outlook. I tried everything that was posted here and nothing resolved my issue. Router was configured correctly, latest firm-ware, tried disabling all of my firewalls, bypassing the router and connecting directly through my modem, changing router settings as suggested... nothing. I then deducted that because I still couldn't send emails just going through my modem, it wasn't at all a router or fire wall issue. I did some research on ISP's and port 25...the port for send/receive emails. Heres what I found out and the changes the cleared up all of my issues. Many ISP's are blocking port 25 due to being overloaded and not telling their customers...like ME! Port 25 is the ISP's front line for blocking spam. If port 25 is blocked, you cant receive or sometimes even send email. To find out if your port 25 is indeed blocked, go to this web page and let it run. It might take a few minuets but it's a free diagnostic port scan and will tell you which ports are blocked. http://digconsys.com/testdir/portscan.html If port 25 is blocked, there are a few others that you can use and they are easy to change. The other ports for email are port 587 and port 1025. Port 587 is the most common ISP's recognize and this one worked for me. To change your port in Outlook, and I ASSUME in Outlook Express, do the following. Open Outlook Go to "TOOLS", choose "ACCOUNT SETTINGS" and double click on your account(s)to open. Choose the "MORE SETTINGS" tab and then click the "ADVANCED" tab. Here, you will see the "OUTGOING SERVER(SMTP)" it will be set to port 25. Delete 25 and replace it with 587. Hit "OK" ad then click the "TEST ACCOUNT SETTINGS". You should have successfully sent a test email to your self. If 587 didn't work, do it again and replace it with 1025. Port 587 works like a charm for me. I hope this helps some if not all of you out that are having the same issue as I was. I was ready to punt my laptop into the next state! Please reply and let me know if this fixed your send/receive issues. Chris

  • PBM IN MAIL SENDING USING SMTP YAHOO MAIL SERVER

i am getting the following error while sending the mail using yahoo smtp server pls some one help me to resolve it

  • What port number is used for SMTP outgoing mail with AOL?

I inadvertently changed the port number for SMTP outgoing mail of AOL.  What port number should I use?

Yahoo and Gmail support should be able to help you.
Not related to Firefox support, web mail doesn't use POP or SMTP protocols which is what email clients such as Thunderbird use for communicating with email servers.

  • I cannot send an e-mail for my 3GS iPhone using port 110

I cannot send an e-mail for my 3GS iPhone using port 110; how do I find the right port? I have always used this port but now it does not work. I can send e-mails from my iPad using this port.

The port is determined by your Email Service Provider. So first off, who is your email provider?
Port 110 is not a standard port for sending. 25, 465 and 587 are the standard SMTP ports (sending) and 110, 143 and 995 are the standard POP/IMAP ports (receiving).

  • How to configure Mail to use different ports for POP and SMTP?

I am trying to configure Mail for my AT&T account. It requires me to configure POP (incoming) mail for port 995, and SMTP (outgoing) mail for port 465. However there doesn't seem to be an option to configure different ports for these. Is that correct, or am I missing something?
Alternatively can I configure two accounts, one for POP incoming and one for SMTP outgoing? My incoming POP account does work, but in configuring an outgoing account I still have to configure a POP server name and that will not work for the outgoing port.
Any advice on how to solve this would be appreciated.

Understand. It is really quite easy to do in Mail, too. Kappy told you how to set up the smtp piece. I gave you pop info. These two things are on different panels within Account Preferences.
To recap his and my posts
    SMTP:
In Mail Prefs, click on the accounts icon. Click on your att yahoo account on the list. On the right of the window, in the lower portion, you see an smtp server menu. Open it and select edit. Select Edit Server, then click on its Advanced tab. Set up port 465 with SSL.
    POP:
This is on a different panel in Mail PRefs Accounts. Now in Mail Prefs, click on the accounts icon. Click on your att yahoo account on the list. On the right of the window, you see three tabs, acc't info, mbox behaviors, and Advanced. This is where things are different than for smtp. You are going to configure stuff on a different "advanced" panel than where you were for the smtp stuff. Click on the advanced tab. There is a field for port with a SSL checkbox next to it and an authentication drop down menu. Check the box and it should quickfill change from 110 to 995. Autentication drop down is probably already default to password.
Did you visit the URL I gave you previously? It even gives you screen shots.

  • WCF static send port, use of custom behavior to change the endpoint location?

The send port is outbound to various web service endpoints, all of which is the same WSDL just different location. Prefer to use the static port for features like ordered delivery. Is it possible to change the Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.Address dynamically
    by a custom behavior?
    https://ninithepug.wordpress.com/

    Hi,
You can make static send ports partially dynamic, this can be achieved in a custom pipeline component in the send pipeline.
You should refer to the below mentioned articles:

  • Sending SMTP mail using Mailgun does not work from Azure, but works from on premise

I am using Mailgun to send email from my web application. When I test the application from my development box, the e-mail is sent and received I see the logs in Mailgun site as well. However, when I publish the code to Azure and send the e-mail, it is not
sent. I don't see it in the Mailgun logs either.
Is Azure blocking Mailgun SMTP? I appreciate any help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Jay,
From your description, I guess you may send mail via SMTP. I don't recommend you use SMTP method to send mail on Azure cloud service. You can use the MailGun API to send mail, Please refer to this document (https://documentation.mailgun.com/user_manual.html#sending-via-api
). Or you can use Sendgrid, please see this blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/patrick_butler_monterde/archive/2010/10/11/sending-e-mail-from-windows-azure-part-1-of-2.aspx).

  • Cannot send email in mail app. using POP account with Wi-Fi

I recently moved to an apartment that only has wireless internet access. Since moving I cannot send email using my POP account, although I can receive email. I was also not able to receive email using my .mac account, but I learned through this forum to change server port to 587 in .mac account and now I can send via .mac account in mail app. But I still cannot sent email with mail app. using my POP account. I changed no settings when I moved, and have never had this problem with cable. Any suggestions?

It all depends on the policy of whoever is the ISP at your new location and the method used by the outgoing (SMTP) server to determine whether you’re a legitimate user.
In an attempt to fight spam, many ISPs restrict the ability to send using an outgoing (SMTP) server not owned by them, usually by blocking port 25 for all traffic outside their own network, which means you cannot send with an SMTP server not owned by them if configured to use that port number. And it may happen the other way around as well, i.e. the outgoing server itself may look at the IP address you’re connecting from and refuse the connection if you’re outside its own network.
Something that often works is changing the outgoing server port to 587 (or whatever alternate port number the outgoing server listens to) instead of 25 and using some form of authentication in Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server > Server Settings, but two conditions must be satisfied for this change to work: (1) the ISP must not block that port as well AND (2) the outgoing server in question must listen to that port and accept a form of authentication not based on the IP address you’re connecting from.
Independent mail service providers not tied to a particular ISP, such as .Mac and Gmail, do allow authenticated SMTP access on port 587, which is the reason changing the outgoing server port number solves the problem for them if the ISP doesn’t block that port as well.
The following article, for example, describes several ways to address this issue in the case of .Mac, but can be useful for other mail accounts as well (not just .Mac), and applies to all versions of Mac OS X (not just Mac OS X 10.4.2 and earlier as the article states):
.Mac: Server timeout alert message when sending email

  • Mailserver using non-standard smtp port

how do i set SMTP to accept connections on a non-standard port (i.e. 2525 or something)?
i'm running a mail server and my residential isp (comcast) after ten years of peaceful coexistence decided that they need to block port 25. so i am setting up a commercial store/forward mail relay service. all i need to do is set up my snow leopard server to accept incoming connections on a port other than 25. sounds easy. it is mentioned in the docs thusly:
"By default SMTP is enabled on port 25. If port 25 is blocked in your environment,
you need to change the port SMTP uses."
... but that's all i can find. specifically, it doesn't say exactly how to change the port.
    any help appreciated.

following up to my own post. hoping this info may be useful for others who face the same issue who are running a server and then having email ports blocked by their ISP's.
i worked around this by signing up for a mail relay service (i use the one provided by dnydns.com). they forward incoming mail for my domain over a nonstandard port.
since i never received an answer to my question about how to make SnowLeopardServer email server accept SMTP connections on other ports, i simply used port mapping in my router (Airport Extreme) to redirect this port (i used 2525) on my WAN address to port 25 on my server - an acceptable workaround.
i also did the same port redirection for the other "standard alternative" smtp ports, 465 and 587.
since my ISP blocks port 25 in both directions, i also needed to find a work-around for outgoing mail as well. previously, my mail server simply forwarded to my ISP's smtp server (using the default port 25). here the Server Admin interface worked but with one "trick": under Mail>Settings>General, i left the box for "Relay outgoing mail through host:" checked, and in the field there i put "[smtp.myispdomain.net]:587" (that is with square brackets, and a colon, but no double-quotes - and of course, use your own smtp server's domain name). afaik this is not documented anywhere in the apple-provided docs, but i found the corresponding docs for postfix, and reverse-engineered it.
so now i can read (via IMAP) and send (via SMTP) mail from my home server, both when i am on my LAN and when i am accessing remotely, and effectively work around the bi-directional block of port 25 imposed by my ISP.
i'd still like to know if there is a method of configuring smtp to accept connections on ports other than 25. i can see how to do it by editing /etc/postfix/master.cf, but afaik that file gets overwritten by Server Admin...

  • AE4500 does not send my e-mail by smtp

I have a weird problem with sending e-mail with my AE4500.
My e-mail program (outlook 2007) stopped sending my e-mail (My setting for sending e-mail is smtp.<provider name>.nl).
I get the message that the connection with the smtp server can not be established.
I pinged the smtp server and that worked.
I telnet to the smtp server, but that failed.
I tried also with e-mail program thunderbird, but same problem.
Also my mail server at home has the problem to send e-mail.
I plugged my laptop straight into the providers modem, and sending an e-mail, and that works
Then I plugged back my AE4500 and connected only my laptop to the AE4500 (all other devices I switched off).
    And the problem was back!
I checked for the latest firmware (2.0.37.131047), but that was already on my AE4500.
I replaced the AE4500 for my old E2000 (I used on the attic as accesspoint), and sending an e-mail, and that works
I reset the whole AE4500 and started from scratch, but no luck. If I use the router AE4500 e-mail sending will not work on port 25 (sending e-mail with smtp.gmail.com on port 465 works, but I do not want to send my e-mail by Google!!!).
All worked for over a year and now it stopped working! And nothing has changed!
At this moment as workaround I use my E2000 as router and put the AE4500 on the attic, but I want my AE4500 to cover also the garden and higher speed on the PC in the living room!
I searched the internet, but no solution! Who has any idea?

I believe what you have is an EA4500. Now, using your preferred SMTP server, what's the port that you are using? You might need open that port (triggered) on the new EA4500.
If everyone needs to believe in something, I believe I'll have another beer..
