Application url in weblogic

hi experts
i'm newbie in oracle adf and weblogic . i made a simple application with oracle jdeveloper 11.1.1.5 (ADF Application) . i deployed my application to weblogic 10.3.5 managed server and i can access login page of my application with http://server_ip:7003/application_name/faces/login.jsp address . i want users of application can access application without enter port number or server ip address in url but i dont know how do this in weblogic .
i want user enter below address and see my login page:
http://sever_name/app_name/faces/login.jsp

Hi,
To visit your application by using a server name instead of an ip adress, you have to configure your DNS server.
To visit your application without directly identify a port in http url, you can use port 80 for your adminServer, if you are working with a clustered wls enviroment, you can use a proxy server configured with port 80 or use a load balancer like F5.

  • Can i set application url thru weblogic

is there any option in weblogic where i can define application url

You can set the "application context" for your applications.
If you have http://localhost:7001/myapp you can change It to http://localhost:7001/MyApplication | http://localhost:7001/myapp/foo/mock | etc.
Do you need this? Go to your application configuration, general tab.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to protect an application running on weblogic through OAM

I have a requirement where in I need to protect an application (URL/root) deployed on weblogic through Oracle Access Manager.
    Here's what I did:
Installed webgate on the Host where the application is deployed.
Configured the webgate on Access System Console.
    Configured the policy domain -
    a) Mentioned the Resource type and URL to be protected
    b) Authentication Type (Basic)
    c) Autherization Rules (Anyone can acess)
Issue: When I try to access the application http://<hostname>:7001/myapp
I expect the webgate/OAM to intercept this request and challenge the user with the basic authentication
but the request is carried through and the Home page of myapp is displayed.
Do I need to do some configurations in the webserver (httpd.conf) or deployment descriptors in the application server to get the authentication?
The application above can also be substituted with Oracle Identity Manager, where I'm getting the same result. I'm able to view OIM Home page without prior authentication. I tried protecting with the following pattern <host variation>/xlWebApp
I am new to Oracle Access Manager and looking for some guidance.
    Thanks

    Hi Joe,
    1. Please elaborate step2 or guide me to a link where I can configure reverse proxy from Apache Webserver to weblogic. I think here's where I'm going wrong.
For more details on proxy refer to these links:
    http://download-llnw.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs90/plugins/apache.html#119517
OHS to Weblogic Reverse Proxy configuration Problem
After this configuration, won't I be able to access the application /myapp running on weblogic through port 7001 and will I have access to it only on port 80 (web s erver default port)?
You will be able to access the application through 7001, but the request will not be intercepted by OAM. The request will be processed directly by your myApp.
    2. I did some reading and found some instructions on using weblogic SSPI plugin. Is this required at all? When is this used?
You can use SSPI Connector if you want to protect the weblogic port. i.e., OAM intercepts the request when you access the application on 7001 port.
    Hope this helps

  • Can you reload web application from the Weblogic console?

              Good day, eh!
Can you reload all your jsp/servlet classes of your
web application from the Weblogic console?
A one big button labeled 'Reload application' would be very
              good property in Weblogic

    Hi,
I agree it is a much needed feature. Suppose I just change an init
param of one application in the web.xml, I don't want to take down the
15 other webapps running on my server just to be able to have that web
app restart and re-read is configuration. Of course, I could program
some servlet that allows changing application attributes and to enable
restarting, but really this a)does not cover all the cases (i.e. addind
an EBJ reference binding to web.xml) b) should be provided by the app
server, not programmed by every little programmer again & again.

  • Flash contents not being displayed on the published Apex application URL

I've had to publish one of my apex application through an bluecoat proxy to reach my Oracle HTTP server. It works fantastic for everything - except my flash charts. Flash contents are not getting loaded.Issue is only in the published application URL,the same application is working fine internally without proxy.
Does anyone have any idea why this is failing and how I might fix this?.The bluecoat support enginner is having the following findings
I am seeing some strange behavior when the browser goes through the
proxy vs when it does not.
When the browser uses the proxy the last thing it requests is the
    following(packet 354):

    That is the browser requests
    http://ithelpdesk.anupcomp.ae/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif and gets a
    200 ok from the proxy/server.
When the browser does not use the proxy I see the following
    behavior(packet 2783):
    The browser requests
    http://anupserver:7777/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif 2 times, each time
the server responds with a 304 not modified status, this means the
browser has the most recent copy of the .gif file. The browser finally
does a post to http://anupserver:7777/pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept. Given
that the browser gets a 200 ok response from the proxy when requesting
    http://ithelpdesk.anupcomp.ae/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif and then
stops requesting data, we need to understand why the browser is behaving
differently without the proxy(i.e. why does it request the content 2
times and why is it doing the post). The interaction between the
browser and the proxy appears normal, a 200 ok response with content is
normal, why does the browser stop requesting content?

    Hello Orton,
I think this has something to do with network access, may be a firewall restricting access to the server.

  • How to protect applications running in Weblogic using OAM

    Hi all,
    I have a doubt,
I have 2 application running in weblogic.
I need to protect those application using OAM and provide single sign on.
    How this can be done?
In the OAM integration guide i saw OAM with BEA Weblogic SSPI
Is SSPI like a connector r what is the use of this?
Is there any other way to protect a application running in weblogic using OAM and provide SSO for those applications
    thanks in advance.

You will need to also add the OAMIdentityAsserter and possibly an Authenticator to get group/role information in the weblogic instances (assuming it's not the same one where OAM is installed).

  • How can I debug a web application running on Weblogic 10.3

    Hello,
I have inherited a NetUI Web Application developed using Weblogic Workshop and I can't manage to debug it. I have configure my server in Workshop and to debug it I right-click the project in Project Exporer and select Debug As -> Debug On Server, but this isn't working. The browser does open the application doesn't appear to be getting delpoyed.
Can anyone help me out? I am using Weblogic 10.3 and Java 1.6.
    Thanks,
    Sean

    Hi Kal,
The application is an enterprise application packaged as an EAR. if I right click on the project and click Debug As -> Debug on Server, the application appears in the Server Tab, but it does not start automatically. If I then manually start the server the application runs, but it does not stop at break points and I can not debug it.
If I right-click on the web project that is packaged as part of the ear and select Debug As -> Debug On Server again the application is deployed, but I can't debug it. I don't get error messages, the application functions as normal but it does not stop at break points. When I attempt to debug the application via the Web Project, two browsers open automatically, both correctly displaying the application.
    Regards,
    Sean

    Thanks,

It looks like some jasper library missing.
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class org.apache.jasper.compiler.JspRuntimeContext
Please make sure you have all dependent jasper libraries imported in your project.

  • Patching/updating Java Applications in the WebLogic environment.

    Hi All,
I'd like to get some feedback on our process and hear if there is some better/different
ideas out there on how to handle patching/upgrading java applications in the WebLogic
    environment.
    Here is our process:
    1) We build using ANT our Enterprise application.
    2) We deploy our application using InstallAnywhere to drop the structure into
    an environment.
If a patch or update is needed, we again build the Patch/Update using ANT, generating
checksums for each file in every ear/war/jar file as well as any supporting files
(.xml, .properties, .sh, etc.) used in the production structure. We then compare
checksums against what is in production and come up with PATCH_(ear/war/jar) files
with only the changed classes and duplicate production structure with the changed
    supporting files.
Using ANT scripts and InstallAnywhere, we backup the files to be replaced in production,
overwrite supporting files, extract packages (ear/war/jar), overwrite classes
with new ones, re-package the ear/war/jar files into production environment and
    restart the server.
We patch at a class level due to the configuration settings internal to the package
files (ear/war/jar) that we don't want the customer to have to re-configure everytime
    we do a partial release.
Right now, the whole process is automated except the creation of the Patch ANT
script that extracts, overwrites updated classes, updates manifests, then re-packages.
Any ideas on improvements or complete re-engineering of our process to help so
we can get closer to 100% automation?
    Thanks,
    John

The chances of two applications running at exactly the same time are miniscule. If they each have a connection to the database, and are both trying to modify the same table, then chances are one will be slightly after the other its changes would be committed last. In the case where one might delete a row just before another tries to access that row, you're going to have some sort of problem. However, those circumstances are pretty rare, and even so, some small amount of exception handling can deal with them gracefully.

  • Issue of deploying a fusion Web Application with integrated Weblogic server

    Hi,
i'm using Jdev 11.1.1.3.0 to develop a fusion web application, with a model and ViewController Projects.
When i try to deploy this application with the integrated server, i have any issues.
The origin seems to be that it builds an application with 3 profiles. The model application is recognized and deployed as a webapp and not an ADF library as it should be..

How can i fix the model project to be deployed as an ADf library and not a webapp with the integrated weblogic server ? Because with me it doesn't do it by itself.
    Thanks a lot for help

  • Unable to pass flashvars in application url in Flex 4.5.

I am creating an application in which I have to pass variable in application URL like http://localhost/Test/test.html?name=testUser
It works fine in flex 3.5 and can be read using Application.application.parameters['name']. But with flex 4.5 it is not detected unless declared in html wrapper.
Problem is, since requirement changes dynamically so somehow its not possible to determine all parameters user want to use so can't be declared in html wrapper.
Is there any work around for reading flashVars directly from application URL ? how about using browserManager's fragments for solving this problem??

  • Do load test for application installed in Weblogic 10.3.4 using OATS 9.31

    Hi Friends,
I need to do a load test for my application deployed in Weblogic 10.3.4. I went on to use the Oracle Application testing Suite (OATS 9.31). But it says its compatible only upto Weblogic 10.3.3. So pls advice me to find a way to load test my oracle fusion application deployed in the current server.
    Thanks and regards,
    Vijai

Maybe worth also trying the WLS forum for what folks over there use: WebLogic Server - General
