Applications do not appear in Wifes Admin account

My Wife and I both have separate admin accounts on my MacPro. One night, I had accidentally Moved the applications folder from the finder into my Trash. I was able to retrieve them, but to do so, I had to create a new applications folder (or OSX did, I dont remember). Regardless, I was able to see them again in my finder.
However.
Now when my Wife tries to View the applications (she previously had no restrictions, she has full administration capabilities), the Applications folder is Empty, minus an utility folder. To make things more insteresting, the Applcations on her Doc at the bottom of the screen do work.
I am not familiar with Unix at all. I only know the very basics on how to set up an account. The rest is pretty foreign to me. Can anyone help me getting her App folder to see the applications again? Thanks in advanced!

The path should be just /
It sounds as though, in retrieving the trashed Apps folder, you have put it in your 'Home' folder. Just to confirm, from within a Finder window select your Home folder. If it is in there, drag it out and drop it on the Macintosh HD (or whatever else you may have called your HD). You may wish to wait for confirmation from BD Aqua or similar rank as I am only guessing. Admittedly an educated guess...

    There are no children, nor other suspicious characters that have "played" with my computer. One moment I'm in, the next time I turn on/restart the powerbook I'm at a screen with the name of the hard drive and two fields: username and password. Not a list with pictures and names ie 'Katie Jo' with an orange icon and 'Guest' with a silhouette of a head.
    In an attempt to remedy this problem, I backed up files using target disk mode and firewire cable. I then, rebooted in single user mode, typed in the correct script and essentially made the computer appear virgin again. Original start up welcome screen display with multiple languages, and then set up prompts such as language, network, and registration. After completing the cues and the "just a few more questions" page, I press continue and am left at a grey standstill, with the continue button greyed out, and no other actions. I'm only able to "go back" by clicking the go back button, all the way to the beginning of the set up, and as I proceed through the steps a second time, I'm greeted with the same halt. What is this?

    My photos taken from my iPhone are not appearing in my iCloud account home page. In fact there isn't even a photo icon on my iCloud homepage. In the settings section of my iphone, I have the Photo Stream turned to "on" within the iCloud setting so i'm not sure what the problem is. Any thoughts?

    Everything is fine, because there is no web application for photos at the moment. These are the options to view your Photo Stream:
    -On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, your photos will appear in the Photos app in the Photo Stream album.
    -On your Mac, they appear in the Photo Stream view in iPhoto or Aperture.
    -On a PC, your photos download to the Photo Stream download folder. By default, this folder is located at C:\Users\Apple\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream. You can change this location by visiting Photo Stream Options in the iCloud Control Panel for Windows.
    -On Apple TV, your photos will appear in the Photo Stream view under Internet in the main Apple TV menu after you sign in with your iCloud account.

    I have a MacBook Pro
    As of last night my Safari is not running on my Admin Account. It works just fine on my guest account.
    I have tried deleting the cookies, resetting my safari, emptying the cache. Nothing is working. I've made sure everything is updating, but Safari will not run.
    It will bring up the Yahoo homepage, but if I try to click anywhere else, it will act like it is loading, but never bring up the page that I try to go to. Any ideas on how to help with this???

    Try deleting the cache.db associated with Safari. Sometimes it does a better job then emptying the cache from the Safari menu bar.
    Quit Safari.
    Go to  ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
    Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Relaunch Safari to test.
    If that didn't help, from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. If you have any installed, turn that OFF, quit then relaunch Safari to test.
    And try troubleshooting Safari third party add-ons >  Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
    And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

  • List of planning applications does not appear

    Hello,
    in EAS i create New Rule -> in Rule Editor displays in right pane -> i click on Select outline -> The Select Database Outline dialog box displays -> when i click on +planning -> nothing is displayed: the list of my planning applications does not appear !!
    is this normal?
    N.B : i use hyperion planning V11.1.1.3

    Did you log into the planning application first before logging into EAS, if the planning application service was recently restarted and there have been no logins to the applications then they won't appear.
    As a test log out of EAS, log into one of the planning applications, log into EAS
    Also be sure that the planning applications have been created to use Business Rules and not Calculation Manager if you want to use EAS.
    If you are still having issues then it may be worth having a read of the following document on Oracle Support - "Troubleshooting Hyperion Business Rules Issues [ID 763345.1]"

    Enter the correct passcode to access the Wi-Fi, it is NOT the admin password for the Wi-Fi.
    Or, simply plug the device into the computer and restore it from the backup there.

  • IPhoto will not launch fully in Admin Account

    iPhoto will not launch in my Admin account. I get the menu bar but nothing on the desktop. There are no error messages either. It works fine in other accounts.
    Before I have to dump this admin account and start another and migrate all the docs/info, does anyone have a fix?
    I'm using the latest version of iPhoto and OSX 10.5.1. Incidentally all was working fine for a couple of weeks after I'd but this new mac.

    It could be that the Window is opening Offscreen - try using the Displays PreferencePane to change the screen resolution, which will force the Mac to Redraw the screen.
    Also, if you're using Spaces, switch it off and see if it turns up.

    Hi Veronica,
    Whenever we create a new application, we need to define member access profile for that particular application. Without this, the application will not be accessible to any users.
    In BPC Admin, go to secutiry -> member access profile. Modify the member access profile. You will be able to see tabs for each of the applications. Go to the tab for your application. Mention the appropriate rights. Ideally, we give "read and write" to all members of category dimension and "read" access to all members of the entity dimension. However, you can customize this based on your requirement. Once the profile is saved, go to BPC excel, go through connection wizard. You will be able to see your new application.

    We have a Windows XP sp2 environment, with standard user
    accounts (no admin, power or desktop admin) and admin accounts. We
    have rolled out the corporate version of flash player (Flash9c.ocx)

    The install seems to work fine. However when the standard
    users try to open a web page with flash content they just get a
    blank frame with a small red x in the top left. When a user with
    admin rights, power or desktop admin rights it works fine and the
    flash content is fine.
    Is it possible for flash to work without admin rights?
    When a user logs in with admin rights it seems to create and
    access C:\Documents and Settings\(user)\Application
    Data\Macromedia\Flash Player without problem. When a user logs into
    the system it seems not to create the C:\Documents and
    Settings\(user)\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player folder
    structure. I've even tried cutting and pasting but it seems not to
    be able to access this.
    It only seems to be IE with this fault, the install works
    fine if we use firefox.

    If Flash Player was installed as the admin, it should work
    for all users. However, we have been working with other customers
    who are experiencing the same issue. This is typically caused by a

  • GP, callable object Web Dynpro Application (bespoke) not appearing in list

    Hey y'all
    We're developing our first GP, and we would like to call an existing bespoke Web Dynpro. When creating the callable object, we're selecting type Web Dynpro Application, but our Web Dynpro screen is not appearing in the drop down list on the next page. We think that this is because the application has been deployed to a different server (i.e. it has not been deployed onto the portal server).
    So the question is, has anyone faced this problem before, and is there a solution?

    Please have a look at this Exception on creating GP Action
    This will solve your issue definitively. Do not take care of a given SDA, just redeploy everything and make sure that everything is overwritten by selecting the right option.

    Depending on version you may not be using the default cluster/instance or it may not be active Re: Not able to see planning applications in the drop down list in 11.1.3
    If it is not that that then the foundation web server may need configuring again.

  • Receiving mail using postfix ... does not appear at my user accounts

    Hi all,
    I've turned on postfix and imap access at my home computer (I'm running Tiger, not Mac OSX Server).
    Everything seems to be working fine (sending mail trough SMTP and logging in to my home by IMAP), except that I cannot see the mails sent to my user account(s).
    I know that the e-mails get at my set up mail server at home since I can see that in the logs, but no mail appears at my user accounts.
    For instance, have have an user account [email protected] and I can loggin trough IMAP at this email account and the emails I send from my gmail account reach jon.myserver.com ... but I cannot read those mails anywhere since they don't appear.
    Can anybody help me and tell me what am I missing?

    Well, the problem seems to be with the IMAP server
    (not postfix).
    I simply don't have an INBOX file were my IMAP server
    seems to deliver the e-mail.
    This seems to be part of our problem communicating. An IMAP server doesn't deliver email. It's what your mailreader contacts to view or deliver mail. You must be using OSX Server, I don't think there's an IMAP server for OSX.
    When mail arrives at your Mac, two basic things happen. We lump them under the label postfix. The first thing is that the SMTP server accepts the mail. The second is that the local process "delivers" the mail. This can be difficult to set up, but the main thing is to put the local delivery path in the alias map file you set in /etc/postfix/main.cf. This is /etc/aliases by default.
    To read mail, your mailreader can simply open the mailbox where the file was delivered. /usr/bin/mail will work fine. Fancier mailreaders like Apple Mail use protocols like POP3 and IMAP4 to retrieve mail from remote servers. But this case is different. IMAP seems like overkill since everything is local. I would try putting the alias to the directory that Mail uses. But then, you never said what your mailreader was, so I don't know.
    I think we can solve this, but we need to get over some confusion first.

    I seem to remember that this Patch has dependencies, not only on the likes of CalcMgr 303, but also on a prior Planning patch 300 (as 304 bizarrely is not a fully rolled up PSU). Presume you must already have Planning 300 as the opatch apply fails dependency check if it is not present.
    There is also an ADF patch (16763038) that needs to be applied (again from memory it is to the Oracle Common home, rather than the EPM Home) so is a bit of an odd one.
