Applying downloaded apps

I am having a problem applying some apps I have downloaded into my itunes account, onto the ipad.  The ipad is for use at in my work and as we have no wireless connection this has to be done via the USB.  I have been previously able to apply apps that I have downloaded.  When I connect the ipad to the pc it does not show any of the usual information about the device such as used and available storage.  I can view the downloaded apps and in purchase history it shows them as downloaded but there appears to be no way to apply them.
Any suggestions would be very welcome

The only cause I can think of is that you or someone else using the iPad is inadvertently deleting app.
You can gomto settings > general > restrictions > enable restrictions and the turn off deleting apps. You will have to set a password for restrictions and turn deleting back on every time you want to delete apps but it will be impossible to delete apps by accident. If apps continue to disappear, at least you have determined it's a software or hardware issue and can pass that info on to an Apple genius if you choose to take it in to have it looked at.

    Hello, Surajit Chakraborty
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
To create an Apple ID without a credit  or debit card, there is a specific series of steps that have to be processed in order to allow the payment to be set as none on creation of the account.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
If the specific steps have not been processed, a credit or debit card will be required to complete the setup the account.
However, it can be removed and payment method changed to none as long as there is not an outstanding balance.

  • New to I-pad and keep getting timed out when trying to download apps any help?

Any help when constantly getting timed out message on trying to download apps by using security questions?

I had the same problem! I don't know what caused it, possibly slow Internet but I suppose my antivirus or other software could have affected it. Maybe it's an iTunes problem.
After restarting the download at least 5 times in iTunes after it timed out, I found this website. I didn't know this before, but you can download the update in your browser and then apply it to your iPhone in iTunes once it finishes. I used Firefox 4 and it downloaded without timing out once. All you have to do is hold down Shift and then click on Update in iTunes and it will prompt you to select the update that you downloaded and it will apply it.
Try this and let me know how it works!

  • Can't download apps on appworld * Unlocked 2nd hand curve 9360 *

Help! I bought my BB Curve 9360 second hand and, despite making sure I was on a BB supported contract with Orange, have never been able to successfully download apps from appworld. I press 'download' and up comes the Agree/Disagree box, which disappears after I select 'Agree'. And then - nothing. It has returned to the previous screen detailing information about the app and when I check my downloads, there it isn't. I have experienced a similar thing when I go on the payment methods option - I select 'Agree' and the screen doesn't change.
I've been on several other forums but can't find any which have the same problem.
I don't understand whether it's my BB or Orange or what?!
(Oh, and can't use BBM either.. But browser works just fine!)
    thanks in advance...

None of the above suggested solutions has worked. I'm wondering whether the phone, which was sold to me as 'unlocked' was infact jailbroken and not factory unlocked. Seems likely as it still says 'O2' when starting up.
Nope...the initial "splash screen", if it exists, will forever show that originally manufactured for carrier, no matter what. Rather, see this:

Based on this assumption, I gather from other forums that businesses sometimes put blocks on their employees' work phones in order to prevent them downloading games etc. Does this seem likely based on the symptoms? I really can't do anything on appworld after agreeing to whatever it asks me to agree to.
It is possible that the BB was previously associated with a BES system, and that the IT policy was not properly cleansed from the BB. If so, then this step is required:
KB18998 How to reset the BlackBerry smartphone to factory defaults
    But, in addition, see this:
KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
If the Seller did not properly complete all of their steps, this BB may never be able to function correctly. For instance, if a BIS account exists for this BB on any carrier system anywhere in the world, then your carrier will be unable to create a BIS account for you. Further, if this BB is reported as lost or stolen, it could be locked out from the ability to properly function anywhere on any carrier.
You really need to talk to Orange and see if they can guide you about those issues.

  • In the modern world why is not possible to download apps from foreign countries whilst in the uk...!?

In the modern world why is not possible to download apps from foreign countries whilst in the uk...!?

Because apps are licensed for sale only in specific countries by the developers, and for iTunes Store and credit card security and anti-fraud purposes you need an AppleID and billing address in the country you are buying from.
Just because it is a digital download does not mean licensing and local commerce laws and taxes do not apply, like they would to a physical item.

  • Downloaded App updates to computer - how to get synched with ipad

I had to download APP updates to the computer as I have no wifi access on the ipad.  How do I get the updated copies over to the ipad - can't find a "synch" button anywhere with new software update?

    View > Showsidebar in itunes
In the left hand sidebar you will see your device
There are a  series of pages in the right hand window, Click on Apps
There you will see all the apps for your device and a button to the side of each one either Remove or install. When you have made your choices click on apply at the bottom right and they should go over to your device

then there is a security question and the space to provide email address .
That is quite clear indeed...it seems odd, but there could well be many reasons for it, including country-specific restrictions I suppose. Or, it could be related to the on-device error you are getting.
Ananthu017 wrote:iam unable to download apps from blackberry world on my device . while downloading apps from my phone , an error message is dislayed as " Blackberry is having trouble connecting to Blackberry World Server . Verïfy your connections and try again ".
There are several threads in existence for exactly that error message. Here is a search page for that error message...if you also, I'm sure you'll find more:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?location=forum-board%3Aapplicat...
There also are plenty of KBs on the topic, you can search for those here:
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/microsite.do
Given the prevalence of this topic, I'm pretty sure that the answer you need is somewhere in all of that. I wish I could point you to exactly which one applies to you, but unfortunately there are many root causes of this particular error, each with different resolutions, so I must guide you to all of that information and allow you to sort through it to find what does apply to you. It is also possible that once you fix the problem on your device directly, then the PC-based method will again work for you.
    Good luck!

  • Newly downloaded apps won't install into iPhone from iTunes.

    Hello,
After selecting newly downloaded apps from iTunes, dropping them and applying sync, loading will begin in iPhone 4 but then fail near the end of installation.  I've updated both iTunes and the iPhone firmware.  How to resolve??  Thank you!

  • HT1349 I'm having problems downloading apps to my iPad using wifi at a McDonalds.  The apps all stay in a"waiting" mode.  I can't delete them or get them to install.  This is the second time that this has happened.  Advice?

I am having problems downloading apps while using wifi in a public setting.  The apps will show up on my screen and say "waiting".  They will not install.  I can't even delete them from my screen.  This has happened before and I had to reset my iPad to factory settings.  I hope I don't have to do this again.  Any advice?

Well, typically one of the fixes that I would suggest is to try to delete the waiting icons. WIFi in a public places like McDonalds, Starbucks, B&N, etc. is not the greatest and I would avoid those places for downloading and updating apps. But I do realize that not everybody has access to Wifi in their homes.
These are all things that have worked at one time or another for other users. Hopefull one of them will work for you. Just ignore whatever does not apply or anything that you have already tried.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • Download APP Freezing unit

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330. I rarely download apps especially games. Yesterday I had a few hours to kill and decided to download a game "3 in 1 WinGames". It did download the Game and then froze when it tried to install it. I waited about an hour and no luck. As recommended, I shut down the unit, took out the battery, powered it back on and when I went to the Apps it was still frozen.
About an hour later I noticed an asterisk on the Blackberry Apps Icon and when I clicked on it, it indicated that there was an updated to the Dictionary App that I originally downloaded 6 months ago. I accepted the download and then noticed that both the installation of both the Dictionary and the Game were now frozen. I decided to check the "remarks" on the Game Apps only to find that practically every comment was negative and that it froze on most if not on everyone that tried to download it.
I called the Bell/Blackberry support and not only did it fail on a 8330 demo the Technician had but it failed on every other device that he had. The only solution, after one hour on the phone with the technician, was to do a hard reset on my Blackberry, luckily I had a recent Backup.
Why, if this App is giving everyone a problem, does Blackberry still has it as a download? Why would want to put any of their your customers through what I went through?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
A few things to clarify, if I may...
From where were you downloading? AppWorld?
The battery-pull reboot...the way you describe it IS NOT the recommended method. Rather, leave power ON and remove the battery.
The "hard reset" you did...that sounds like an OS reload...before which everyone should always take a full backup of their BB.
Lastly -- your "why" question. It is the responsibility of the developer to test and certify, to RIM, that their App is proper. RIM cannot possibly test each and every app to validate that certification. As such, they rely on the developers certification. Hopefully, as a result of your efforts, they will do as you recommend. You might also contact the developer and let them know.
    Good luck!

Help me my iphone 5c wont let me download apps and i already verified my account and it says connect to mac and i don't have one.

If you have an existing ID, but no credit card to associate with your account, you'll have to redeem an iTunes gift card. If you don't want to do that, you'll have to create a NEW ID by following the directions here:
