Applying JAVA patch (JSPM) in our newlyPI 7.1 installed server.

Dear expert,
we are trying to apply JAVA patch (JSPM) in our newlyPI 7.1 installed server. It is windows Server 64 bit with oracle.
We have downloaded the JSPM08_0-20001887.zip and pasted in ..../EPS/in. Then run the D:\usr\sap\PID\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\JSPM\go.bat and selected JSPM, but it shows nothing.
Even after unzipping JSPM08_0-20001887.zip  it shows 3 folder BUILDARCHIVES, DEPLOYARCHIVES and META-INF and pasting in .../EPS/in it diddnot worked.
I have applied in Unix, as in unix we directly paste .SCA file into ../EPS/in and it works.
Here in windows i cluless, pl help us out.
Regards,
Ajit

Hi Ajit,
JSPM08_0-20001887.zip
As you said in earlier reply that you have downloaded the zip format of JSPM file.
But , zip file is not supported by JSMP for deploying the patches.
It seems that you have selected the file from SAP marketplace and put into your download basket and then you have right click on the JSPM file on download basket and saved to the location , becuase of which the file format has been changed from .SCA to .ZIP.
The best option of downloading any file is to use SAP Download manager , it will download the file with exact SAP format i.e SCA.
Once you download the file using download manager in SCA format , then you will be able to apply patch succesfully using JSPM.
Thanks
Anil

I did prerequisite check and everything is okay.  Platform - Sun Solaris 9, Oracle 9.2.0.6.  When I click on apply Patch 16, it goes thru central instance profile, java home directory okay. Hello Digesh,
The firt thing please go to os level prompt for <SID>adm user and type echo $JAVA_HOME. What is the value that is reflected after issuing the above.
Also please check that your SAP-J2EE instance is running properly or not.
The JCE is used for Weak and strong encryption.
Also please check the instance.properties file. Does it contain proper parameter as per your SAP installation.

  • Apply java patches

    Hi Gurus,
I want to Apply ADS(adobe document services) SP 17.
For this i have downloaded the patch.
Now when use JSPM it does not show ant ADS patch available to be applied.
Where do we need to save the downloaded patch so that the JSPM picks it up.
The downloades patch has around 10 .ear files ,are there to be uncared.
    Please update ASAP.
    Thanks and regards
    Tushar

Please copy all the ear files in /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in
    and run JSPM.
Check jspm logs for any error.
If JSPM is not picking the files that means the given files are not applicable for your setup.
Also, Let me know which option you are selecting in JSPM.

  • Query Functionalities affected after Java patch application 20

    Hi ,
We applied Java Patch 20 to our Development System. After this application we are getting Error in running the Bookmarks, error while creating complex formula and the functionalities like Back to Start,Back one Navigational Step are not working properly in BI 7.0 Queries.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jackie

We have run with this patch for a long time now and have never encountered an issue like this.
Are you using JInitiator or the Java Plugin (recommended)?
Have you tried clearing the JAR cache on the client? Your FMB's also might be corrupted somehow - have you tried rebuilding them on a Developer Suite with the exact same patch level as the Application Server?
You could also try the new super-merge patch 7703734, which supersedes the previous super-merge 7482020, and see if that helps in any way.
If that doesn't help, you should log an SR on Metalink and get Support to help you solving this.
    Hope this helps,
    Jacob

  • Can I update Java patches without uploading the SCAs

There is no FTP service on the HP-UX.  User root is not available for me.
With user <sid>adm, can I apply Java patches without uploading the SCAs?

Why can't you use third party tools to copy the files to your *nix server?
You can use WinSCP software to copy the files from your desktop to your *nix server (Even FTP not avilable, it use SFTP).

appreciate your coperation with regard to this
    Buddhike

    > how can i deploy these patches comes with SCA.zip format ? i know only SCA  can be deployed , but since i have downloaded them directly it converted to SCA.zip
It is fine just to delete the .zip at the end. The issue has another reason.
Have you patched the JSPM before you applied the patches?

    thank you very much!

Solutions: Bounce the applications and check the arguments if you can increase it.  It is due to memory issue
You can set these values in CommEnv.sh (.cmd for windows) file located in the weblogic_home/common/bin directory.
This gets applied to all the domains under that wls home.
If you want to make the changes to specific domain then edit the SetDomainEnv.sh file located under the domain/bin directory.

What should be the level for Java package and JSPM should be applied. Can we apply level 17 or should ABAP and JAVA be of the same level??
    Regards,
    Priya

    HI,
Actually now my Java version and all java patches are on the level 19. But my IGS is on level 13. The highest level available is also only 16. So do i need to upgrade my IGS as it will require kernel upgrade or level 13 is ok?

    Hi,
    ABAP stack present.: true
    The execution ended in error.
    Cannot initialize application data.
Error while detecting start profile for instance with ID _s.
Looks like the problem is above 1
Do the following. This should resolve the issues.
    1. If your dialog instance are also having the Java stack then do one thing move your profile folder to some other name and create a new profile folder with the name "profile".
Copy only the central instance profiles Default, Instance and start profile.
    Then give a try.
    2. If you do not have the java instance in Dialog instance still do the same thing what I have described. move the current profile folder and create the new folder with the name "profile" and copy the profiles Default, Instance and start profile.
Chances are the JSPM is reading some other profile while starting the JSPM.

For java you can directly go to sp10 from sp01 you nedd not to apply 2,3,and so on. Once you download the *.sca files and the xml file just paste the files in the trans/eps/in directory and start the JSPM give ur sdm password and JSPM will take care of all the other things.

  • LMS Prime Java Patches

Does anyone know if there are plans to develop a LMS Prime 4.2 software patch    for   the recent  Java  client updates? Not surprisingly our Topoogy Services feature doesn't work  with client side Java patches applied

    Hi Bryan,
Uninstall Java from your client machine, Launch topology on the client machine and let LMS decide the best version. It would choose the version as suggested by Afroj and then hopefully you would be able to launch topology at your client site.
Get back in case you still are facing problems.

  • Applying Java's internationalization facilities to a web application

    Hello,
I am a member of a software developing team (using Java-based technologies). Our web application consists of a:
    1. static part (HTML-based pages), and
    2. a dynamic part (using JSPs and servlets, mainly)
The static part of our web site is currently supported in four languages, having our html pages replicated four times. On the other hand, the dynamic part of our web (that is, the part of our web site restricted to authorized
users only, using JSPs and servlets) is only supported in one of those languages and we are thinking of extending it to support, at least, one more of the other languages. Obviously, it wouldn't be manageable replicating the JSP
pages (about a hundred or so) for the new language, so we are thinking of using Java's internationalization facilities. According to what I have understood, we have two possibilities, basing the internationalization process on:
    a. properties files (one for each language?)
    b. class files
Knowing all this, our problem is a matter of organization of those approaches. How could I organize the different files? Should I use a database to store the messages, instead of using files (either properties files or class files)? Or might I create different files depending on where the string texts appear? For example, create a
properties file or a class file containing the different string messages in every JSP file? Any other ideas of organization or design would be highly appreciated. Do you know any other web site where internationalization has been applied or case studies dealing with this matter?
    Thanks in advance.

Whether that be list or property resource bundles, the code is already written to load and manage resource bundles in these formats. I have personally worked with database-backed resource bundles, but that required custom code to be written.
On a performance note, list resource bundles are found before property resource bundles. In a development environment, I've used property resource bundles and when moving an application into production, I have gone through the conversion of the property to list resource bundle format. There's a utility in our book, "Java Internationalization" (O'Reilly) which does conversion from property to list resource bundle format for you.

dealing with this matter? Also in our book, we advocate using different resource bundles for holding different types of localized data. For example, there's nothing that says you cannot have resource bundles devoted to user exception messages, status messages, regular text, prompt text, etc... By splitting up your resources into different categories and placing them in an appropriately named resource bundle, you can know exactly where certain resources will be pulled from when your application is running.

I have installed OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 version on windows 64 bit machine and later on I tried to apply the patch to upgrade it to 11.1.1.6.8 . Once I received  above error , I thought of cross checking the PATH &  Java_Home environment variables from my machine and below are snapshots of them.
    Java Home : C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_45\bin
    Path:  C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\RSA SecurID Token Common;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Services\IPT\;C:\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\bin;C:\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\bin;C:\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\opmn\bin;C:\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\opmn\lib;C:\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\perl\bin;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_45\bin
below are the commands executed in the first step before applying opatch apply on 16094198
    set ORACLE_HOME=C:\Middleware\Oracle_BI1
    set PATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\bin;%PATH%
    set JAVA_HOME=%ORACLE_HOME%\jdk
    set PATH=%JAVA_HOME%\bin;%PATH%
    set PATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\OPatch;%PATH%
Any inputs on how to resolve this opatch problem will be greatly appreciated. Please let us know if I have to make any change in the environmental variables or in these set commands stated above.
    Thanks in advance.

    Heelo Srini,
I have updated my JAVA_HOME system variable in environmental variables section as stated below
    User variables:
    JAVA_HOME : C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_45
    PATH : %JAVA_HOME%\bin
    System variables:
    ClassPath: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_45\lib;
