Approach to create a generic Approval process using SOA human workflow ?

Hello Experts,
I'm looking to create a generic approval process using oracle soa human workflow component using JDev 11.1.1.5
Have about 7-8 existing applications which do some kind of 'approval' . So need to create a generic solution for all 7-8 applications, instead of users logging into 7-8 different applications to approve by logging into different systems. Just want to have like a 'one stop shop' , where i can just go and approve for any application without having to log into separate applications.
I'm looking to get some suggestions and ideas, on how I can achieve this functionality ... Any suggestions/ideas are appreciated .

Multilevel dynamic approval process using precondition loop block

HI,
I am trying to create a multivel dynamic approval process using a precondition loop block. The structure of my process is,
Process->1)Sequential Block containing requestor action->processor of requestor action is initiator
            2)Precondition Loop Block containing
                    i)Loop Decision action containing a business logic callable object
                    ii)Loop Body Block containing Approver action-processor of approver action is filled from context parameter
The loop decision action implements the logic for loop decision. Can anybody help me by suggesting the proper target of each of these actions, and the processor for loop decision action?
Whenever I am initiating the process, the requestor action is getting executed, On completion of this action I am getting a message "No activity is currently selected", that is, it is not entering the precondition loop block.
Please guide me with the proper process flow of this and how to adjust the roles and parameters

Developing Balckberry Approval process using WAPI's

I'm very new to world of workflow handling.
I have a requirement in Blackberry Approval process.
One of our client is currently using SAP Workflowto send PR items via Outlook to the approver of these PRs. The approver then gets an email which contains a link to the Portal where he/she approves or rejects the PR.
Now, along with the email to the approver, the approver should also get the PRs on his/her Blackberry and should be able to approve or reject the PRs from the Blackberry Device itself.
The UIs for blackberry haveto be developed using webdynpro for Java.
I need to know how do I link the blackberry webdynpro application to workflow?
How do I get the WorkItems to the blackberry device?
I would be grateful if anybody could guide me in this. Overview of steps to be followed is also welcome, I'll explore on the individual steps.

For you to test Approvals, you have to setup a number of things;
1. Supervisor Hierarchy (If using that as hierarchy)
2. Job Levels (If using Job-level approvals)
3. New rules for SSHR functions.
The getApprStartingPointPersonId function returns the starting point person ID for the transaction in the HR_API_TRANSACTIONS table. It uses that to traverse the supervisor hierarchy based on the approval.

Hi,
Approval or digital signature process in PLM involves creating authorization groups, signature strategies and assigning individual signatures to signature strategy groups.For example, to create digital signature for Engineering Manager, you create authorization group say ENGMGR and define it as individual signature and assign it to a signature strategy group.
Business workflow is used to automate a business process.For example,it can be used in PLM-DMS for document review process.This can be triggered by status change(has to be defined in customizing) in document.

Approval process in update user workflow

Hi
I have read in the document Administrative Guide that by default, the approval process is set only for user creation. and the same does not work for update and delete operations on user, unless we customize the code.
Does any one of you have any idea as to what customization needs to be done for successful approval process for updates also. I have set approvers for resources.

2. Copy paste the same in the BPE.
3. Save the copy as a new object with a different name.
4. Edit the new workflow as follows:
4.1 Create new activity
4.2 In the new activity, add a variable with some name
4.3 create a new action, and let that action be a subprocess. For that subprocess, browse and choose 'Approval' as the action.
4.4 Add a argument as name=approvalForm and value=<name of approval form>
4.5 Include argument user=$(user), etc. (Check the original approval workflow to see what the names of the arguments are)
4.6 For return to=name of the variable declared, from=approved
4.7 Add a 'isTrue' condition for the variable declared.
5. Make the appropriate transitions, and ur ready to go.

Configure DB connections used by Human workflow

Hi All
We are using Oracle BPEL for orchestrating a process flow; the BPEL process uses Human workflow service for assigning tasks to users and Java client code(SOAP client) is used to update tasks assigned to users.(we are not using Worklist application). The users are updating the tasks using the java client code and this is a continuos process.i.e. users work continuosly in shifts.
The workflow service seems to utilize lot of DB resources as 50-60 users are working continuously at the same time... Though we can configured the DB parameters/connection pool we are having some performance issues..
Just wondering if we can have a seperate connection pool/data source for Human workflow service?? Then orabpel application and workflow service can use seperate pools and the load can be reduced..
Any documentation/pointers on this will be of great help on this...

You can / should have your HW app in a different, database, at least schema. Then it is just a matter of setting up a differnt connection pool for the HW app.
There is also noting stopping you from having 2 different connection pools pointing to the same oracle schema. One for HW and one for bpel. They can be tuned accordingly.

Requisition Approval Process using HCM Processes and Forms

Hi all,
Can HCM P&F be used for processes other than HR? For example, Purchase Requisition form to be displayed in the portal instead of HR process like 'transfer' form and upon final approval, creation of requisition in SAP should happen instead of HR infotype updation.
Is this possible? If so, please mention the advantages and disadvantages of using HCM P&F for other than HR processes.

I replied to your posting in other forum and pasting my response here as well.
As mentioned by other SDN peer, HCM P & F is aimed at business processes in HCM area. HCM P & F has provision to retrieve employee's information stored in PA/PT/OM modules and also designed to use infotype framework to update the form data back to employee master data. The navigation of application starts in choosing employee for which Form is to be submitted.
If you are on EhP4, using new feature we can bypass choosing employee to begin with.
That said, if you still want to use HCM P & F for non-HCM area then you may end up doing lots of customization.
Also, SAP had delivered several ISR forms (based on ISR framework) for non HCM business processes, for example 1. Customer master data 2. Cost center maintenance 3. Profit Center etc. You have to look at appropriate business package documentation for more details.
HCM P & F is also based on ISR framework but with lots of latest features.

Approval Process of Quotes via Workflow

Dear Experts,
I'm looking for a Workflow solution, with which I can elektronically appove a Quote. In detail it means e.g. to reales a quote, two sgnatures are mandetory. These two people should be chosen inside the quote as a partner. After Savind they should get an e-mail notification and be able to approve the quote via e-mail (Outlook) or inside SAP.
Is there a possibility to do that via workflow? How? Do anybody has some experience?
Other proposals?

Approval Process in SSHR using Approval Management

Could any one suggest for the below mentioned issue ?
I have set up the approval process using approval management. But when I tried to test the approval process in both the ways ('Create a test transaction' and 'View a real transaction's approval process), I am receiving different error messages.
1. if I test by using 'View a real transaction's approval process'
receiving the error message saying "ORA-20001: The attribute TRANSACTION_REQUESTOR_PERSON_ID probably has an invalid query string. The attribute caused the following exception:
-972
ORA-00972: identifier is too long"
2. if I test by using 'create a test creation' receiving error message as "ORA-20001: Casey Browning (Browning, Doctor Casey) lacks a supervisor, so OAM cannot complete the chain of authority for the transaction"
What am i missing in the setups ?
which way is the recommended way to test the process ?

Error while creating Generic data source using FM

Hi Experts,
I try to create a generic data source using the Function Module via the transaction RSO2. I got the following error messages.
" Das Einheitenfeld CURR des Feldes ZPKZA1 der DataSource ZBWN_DS_POLPOSP ist ausgeblendet"
" Das Einheitenfeld CURR des Feldes ZPKZA2 der DataSource ZBWN_DS_POLPOSP ist ausgeblendet"
" Das Einheitenfeld CURR des Feldes ZPKZA10 der DataSource ZBWN_DS_POLPOSP ist ausgeblendet"
"The unit field CURR of the field ZPKZA1 of the DATA SOURCE ZBWN_DS_POLPOSP is not visible/ stopped/ hide".
for all 10 fields of type CURR.
How shall i handle this issue..........any suggestions please........

Hi,
Are your CURR fields refereded to a currency field of your structure?? Maybe the problem is that the field containing the currency is refered to other table/structure and it has to be one of your structure fields.

Approving users using a custom dbms_ldap

We need to create an custom approval process for certain users in a specific LDAP container (MY_USERS). We need to create some type of application that can reset passwords for these users. How can we incorporate this using dbms_ldap?

You need to post this question on the database OLAP forum as the enablement for OLAP process is owned by the database team.
I presume you did run the 'enable Analytic Workspace for OLAP API and BI Beans' option from within AWM after you added the two new measures? If not you will need to generate the CWM2 metadata to register the new measures.

I want to create a generic data extractor using a function module within the BW system. i.e. the extractor will run in BW and and store the data in a cube( in BW). No R/3 is invloved. I proceeded as follows:
1. Created a structure through se11.
2. Created a function module. But while defining "E_T_DATA" in the "Tables" section of the function module, I am getting the error "TABLES parameters are obsolete". I defined as follows:
E_T_DATA TYPE ZBW_EXTRACT
ZBW_EXTRACT is the name of the structure.
What should i do in this case ?

Hello Satya,
The message "TABLES parameters are obsolete" is just a warning and not an error. The structure of the interface is strict (defined by SAP). You should opt to proceed even if you receive the warning.

Hi Jaya ,
The error msg which is coming as...
"The unit field CURR of the field ZPKZA1 of the DATA SOURCE ZBWN_DS_POLPOSP is not visible/ stopped/ hide" may be due to the currency field made hidden at the data source lavel. Also check weather you have included it in your structure (code).
So, to check it and make it unhide go to "Display Field List (F7)" in RSO2.

Hi,
I went to se80. Copied the function module "RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE" to my function group. When i tried to change the associated type from "SFLIGHT" to my own structure, it again gives a warning that "TABLES parameters are obsolete!". It does not allow me to either save, check or activate the function module. What should i do ?
Please reply urgently.
