Approval Notification getting auto approved.

Oracle Gurus,
I am stuck with this workflow and need you urgent help. Below is the problem description:
I have created a custom workflow to send notification to certain level of approvers for there approval. Attached is the screenshot of the workflow. Let us say there are 5 approvers: MGR1 -> MG2 -> MGR3 -> MGR4 -> MGR5
When the workflow is invoked the notification goes to MGR1 correctly, when MGR1 approves it goes to MGR2 notification gets auto-approved (skips MGR2) and goes to MGR3. When MGR3 approves it goes to MGR4 and gets auto approved as before and goes to MGR5.
It's skipping alternative approvers by auto approving the notification!!! Any idea as to why? The notification's "On Revist" property is set to "Loop".
Any kind of assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

This is related to either your setup or an extension. There must be a hole in your logic if you are using an extension. If not, your Workflow may be setup to do "Go One Stop, then Go Directly." This flow will check for an approver, if it does not exists at the immediate supervisor level, it will autoapprove the Expense report and then flow directly to AP.

  • Leave Deletion requests get auto-approved

    Hi,
If an approved leave is deleted in calendar view then it does not go for approval to manager. Instead it gets deleted immediately
What is the reason for this ? Std behaviour is required that the deleted leave should appear in red color and when manager approves it, it should be deleted and turned to white color in the calender to indicate that the leave is deleted.
    kindly help
    thanks
    b

    Hi B,
I think it depends on the leave you mentioned posted or not.
As far as I know the flow of leave approval is look like this:
    1) User submit leave request
    2) Approver approve
    3) Schedule job post approved leave to ERP
It is marked as approved in both stage 2 and 3, but if the leave is still at stage 2, user can delete the leave without approval, while approval is required at stage 3.

  • Approver request gets to approver but not seen in approver work inbox AC10

    Hello Gurus,
I have a problem that has been frustrating me for some two days now.
I am trying to create a user request using the standard workflow in AC 10.0.
I have the manager account setup and assigned to the user i am trying to create.
The role i am assigning to the user has an approver assigned to it.
    I have 2 stages defined - GRAC_MANAGER (Agent ID - GRAC_MANAGER | Aprover type - Anyone Approver) and GRAC_ROLEOWNER (Agent ID - GRAC_ROLEOWNER | Aprover type - Anyone Approver).
I don't have any notification settings defined anyway. (Do I need to define any notification anyway if I am using the default settings)
When I go to the audit log of the created request in the search request environment, it tells me that it is "pending for approval at the path GRAC_DEFAULT_PATH stage GRAC_MANAGER Approver ID: Managerapp" [where Managerapp is my Manager defined as approver].
My issue now is that when I go to the inbox of the manager, i cannot see any request pending for approval there. So where is it?
Please help me out as I am stucked.
    Thanks

    Hi,
The root cause of the issue are two configuration item in your SPRO workflow configuration which normally is done in your post installation operation.
    1. Perform Automatic Workflow Configuration.
    2. Perform task specific customization.

  • Timecard submitted from OTL Timekeeper screen is auto approved.

    Hi all
Timecards submitted from OTL Timekeeper screen are auto approved even if I set the Time Store Approval Style preference to Supervisor Approval and link the preference to Timekeeper responsibility using Eligibility Criteria tab.
I am expecting the timecard should go for an approval to supervisor since the approval style preference is set to Supervisor Approval but its auto approved as soon as the timecard is submitted. May I know the reason why the timecard is auto approved or am I missing any setup to send the approval notification to supervisor. Here the customer would like send the approval notification to supervisor if the timecard is submitted from timekeeper screen. Please advice.
Please note that timecard submitted from self-service time is sending the approval notification to supervisor as expected.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards
    Nag

    Hi
    Thanks for the response.
As per my understading, prefereces linked to responsibility wouldn't be considered if the timecard is submitted for approval through timekeeper. In my case, i have three different users employee, admin & manager. If either employee or admin submit the timecard then it should be sent to approval for manager. If manager submits the timecard then the timecard should be autoapproved. Pls note that all three will be using three different responsibilities to submit the timecard. I have created 4 differents of preferences.
The preferences are linked as follows:
Default preferece (Auto Approval) linked to All People with precedence 10
Employee preference (Supervisor Approval ) linked to Self-Service Time responsibility with precedence 20
Admin preference (Supervisor) linked to OTL time-keeper responsibility with precedence 30.
Manager preference(Auto Approval) linked to OTL Super Time-Keeper responsibility with precedece 40.
With the above setup, approvals are working fine as expected but if the timecard is submitted by admin then it's getting auto-approved.
To fix the issue, i have changed the setup slightly as below
Default preferece (Supervisor Approval ) linked to All People with precedence 10
With this setup, timecard submitted by admin is going for an approval to manager (as desired) but if manager submits the timecard then the workflow sends a notification to the manager for approval which is not expected.
Is there anyway to have different approval styles for both manager & admin. If admin submits then it should be sent for approval otherwise if manager submits then it should be auto approved.
    Please advice.
Thank you so much for your help.

  • Leave for employee without approver is auto-approved.

    Hi,
I'm trying to customize the HR_APPROVAL_CUSTOM pkg whereby I would want the leave for an employee without an approver not to auto-approve and instead raise an error message to sysadmin. Currently, when an employee who applies for leave has no approver, the leave will be auto-approved.
We are using position hierarchy in our system and also AME rules.
Appreciate if anyone can guide as to what would need to be done so that the leave does not get auto-approved.
    Thanks in advanced.

  • Requisition auto-approval in AME

    Hi,
Is there a way to handle a scenario with AME where we need to have the requisition auto-approved whenever the amount is less than 1K.
I am able to use AME for all other scenarios, where the requistion moves for a different person's approval. But what about auto-approval ?
    Pls help me on this.
    Regards,
    Sambit

    Hi Sanjay,
How are you setting up approval greater than 1000 USD?
    I guess u have created a condition called requisition total > 1000
then u would hv also created a approval group XXX (with either static or dynamic list)
Then u would hv created a rule with this condition requisition total > 1000, then use this approval group XXX...
when u create a req for 1001 USD, the person in approval group XXX will come as approvers...but when u create for 1000 USD or less than that,
there is not rule(condition) satisfying and hence no approval group will be picked up...
the trickiest point here is, if there is no approvers, AME will throw an error. To override or suppress this error for empty approval list,
In AME, set the attribute 'Allow empty approval groups' and 'Auto Approve' to true for this transaction type and it should get auto approved.

  • OTL - Auto Approving timecard

    Hi,
We have got an issue where timecards get auto approve for cases given in metalink note 443432.1. What I want to know - is there anyways we can stop auto approve? Through some profile option or something.
    Thanks!

The approval style form includes a number of components.
The first component is a 'data interdependency rule'. In this section you can create a validation rule for whether the data needs approval. This can be done for each receiving application for the timecard information.
The second section determines the approval method. e.g. HR Supervisor, Project Manager etc.
IIn the data interdependency section, the rule is coded in a Fast Formula. The FF can call an external function, so basically any logic is possible. The prupose of the rule is to return a flag indicating if the data for a specific application needs approval. If the FF returns Y(es) then the subsequent approval method for that application will be invoked.
Using this method, you can control what data requires approval and what does not.
If you extend this to use time categories, you can effectively determine if a subset of data requires approval.
Hope this help! It's a rather complex part of OTL that can take a long time to explain.
    Regard
    Tim

  • GL Journal approval- Send notification to multiple approver

    Hello
I want to send GL journal approval notification to multiple approver, once any of the approver approves the journal it should be removed from worklist of all approver. How can we acheive this?
    Pls help
    Thanks
    Avalon

    Hi
What i am sure of is that you can have specific groups for your journal approval and each of the groups can have specific approvers.
When i say the above line, i mean that you can have groups like Treasury, Finance and Payroll and each of them have their desiganated approvers.
Then the level of journal preparer who can also fall to a specific group.
Once the journal preparer belonging to a specific group prepares a journal, it will route to the journal approver belonging to the specific group.
I am not sure about whether you can create approval groups and also if you send the journal for approver to multiple approver, than how the other approver will come to know that the journal is approved or rejected or whether has the other person taken any action - it will create dependencies between the 2 person and hence might create confusion.
So i am not sure about the resolution for your question.
But if the approach suggested by me matches your requirement, i can forward you the document which contains the step you need to do to achieve the functionality,
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Timecard auto approve

    Hi,
I have a requirement where in the approval should go to HR Supervisor if he is a admin(Exempt enployee), Project manager for Projects and if they do not approve in 48 hours it should auto approve.
Can someone please help me with this???

You can write the time entry rule and based on the scenarios, set the corresponding approval styles of auto approve or HR supervisor or project manager. Your TER will return the approval style based on your logic which will be applied on the timecard for approval.

  • Buyers not getting Approval Notifications

    Hi,
Our Users are reporting that when they submit a purchase order and it is approved by the manager, they are not getting the approval notifications on their home page in Oracle. It was working fine till last week and Users were getting notifications.
I am the Apps DBA of this project and I don't know much about the POs. I am not sure how to diagnose this issue.
any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

The following is assuming the smtp server used by the workflow mailer is from the same server the concurrent manager is running on.
Is the email bouncing back to the WFMailer as not able to be delivered? If you have root email forwarded to your email account , the bounced message should come to you. If not, look in the root email account for a bounced message intended for the user not receiving the approval notification.
If there is no bounced message:
Look in the log for the smtp server sending out email. Look iin /var/log/maillog.
Look for the email addresses that should be receiving the approval notification but are not. You should either see that the message is sent or what the issue is with it. You can also try to send an email from the smtp server as the applmgr user.
    mailx -v [email protected] < testfille.txt
If you see the email is being sent and not bounced back. Have the user check their spam folder or ask their email admin if their is a serverwide spam folder.
