Apps Initialise fails in APEX

Hi,
We are trying to initialise apps by using the following command(pa_security.Initialize (<user_id>,'pa_security' ); in apex and it fails for some reason.Please advice.
FYI : We run apex in a different schema and not in apps schema.

This was setup as a process in page header.After we set this page it was not opening.

Does 11g XE Beta support LDAP ?
We have a number of internal apps running fine in APEX 4.0.2.00.07 installed in Oracle 10g XE.
Once imported to a new box running 11g XE beta, LDAP authentications always fail, even though the same login processing settings are used. Anybody got LDAP working in APEX on 11g XE ?

Hi Colin,
though I haven't tested with 11g XE, 11g in general still supports LDAP. However, starting with 11gR1 (and the current beta is based on 11gR2) you need to define ACLs for network access. If you haven't done this, you won't get any LDAP connection out of the database. There is quite a good example for that in the APEX Installation Guide: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/install.40/e15513/otn_install.htm#BABBHCID
I think this is a good example and can be adopted for other database users easily.
If that's not the solution in your case, please post the error message you receive when the authentication fails.

App Server Fails to Start after Installation

Hi,
I've spent a whole day struggling with this, looking through forum discussions and trying out every single suggestion I've come across in the forums. I'm running out of ideas now and really appreciate any help I can get with this problem.
I'm trying to install SJSC2 (also tried with SJSC2u1 with the same outcome) on a new HP notebook (nw9440) running WinXP_sp2. I'm using the default installation done by HP.
My installation path is C:\Java\SunCreator2 (C:\Java\SunCreator2_1 for update 1).
After the installation the App server fails to start up and gives the below error in the server.log.

Upon looking at the install.log in the rave_home directory, I noticed the below sequence of errors.

I've tried every workaround I've seen in the forums such as installing under different paths (both with spaces and without spaces), cleaning all the temporary files in the Temp directory, renaming the productregistry in the windows system directory. Each time I get the exact same error in the install.log.
I also tried installing the stand alone SUN App Server 8.1_02_2005Q2 as well as 8.2. I don't seem to have any issue with this installation or running of the stand alone server at all on the same machine.
Really appreciate any help I can get. TIA....

After spending more time looking through the forum, I came across the below thread which has worked in my case (though it was suggested for Sol10x86).

This is the workaround that worked in my case.
> $ cd <Creator_Home>/SunAppServer8/lib
$ mv processLauncher.xml processLauncher.xml.trayIcon
$ cp processLauncher.xml.bak processLauncher.xml
# If you have a domains/creator/config/domain.xml
$ cd ../bin
$ ./asadmin start-domain creator
This started the app server. After that I was able to start and stop app server within the JSC as well.
Only difference between these two xml files seem to be,
processLauncher.xml.trayicon
<main_class classname="com.sun.rave.tray.RavePEMain"/>
processLauncher.xml
<main_class classname="com.sun.enterprise.server.PEMain"/>
Possibly pointing to a bug in the "com.sun.rave.tray.RavePEMain" class.

Im trying to download an app for my ipod touch, but when the sync is over i look at my screen and it says the app has fail to install

Right, what App are you trying to download? What iPod touch have you got? 1st Gen., 2nd Gen., 3rd Gen or 4th Gen? Also what version of iOS are you running?

OSD SCCM 2012 R2: 0x80004005: app install failed

Hi,
I have this application in a simple task sequence which fails to install (error 0x80004005).
The application itself installs correctly in a windows session. It has "Allow this application to be installad from the Install Application task sequene ..." enabled.
Also when I run the installation manually in the tasksequence (next to the error I open a dosbox -F8- and map the source, run the exact command of the application "msiexec ...") this install correctly.

I totally missed that line when I read your posting first. Check CAS.log, LocationServices.log and ContentTransferManager.log.

Adobe Muse 'Trial initialisation failed' on Mac

Hello,
I am interested in trying Adobe Muse, however whenever I try to begin my trial I get an error message that says 'Trial initialisation failed, your trial has expired'. I have never used the software before, and I have tried creating another Adobe ID, I have installed it on another system and I still get the same error.
I am running Mac OS X 10.7.5 on a late 2006 iMac.
All help is greatly appreciated.

Muse Trial was instal on one of our Mac, trial was over, then we get instal to another Mac with new Adobe ID, but he said on last step after login ID that 'Trial initialisation failed, your trial has expired. as if we install muse before...and nothing helps. we try delete OOBE and MBLStore and Adobe muse, reinstal adobe air, but nothing ...it looks like its blocked with our global ip, but it can not be. Why he (Adobe Air?/Muse) think that we had already instal and over Muse Trial on another machine (Mac), when we did not do this? like all our Mac is the same one.

Initialisation failed after downloading latest Flash Player.

The installation .exe yields the message "initialisation failed" (German: Initialisierung fehlgeschlagen). We are working with Firefox 17.0.1 under Windows XP. The downloaded .exe has some 950 kByte. The Website talks about 15.6 MByte. What can we do?

You can Check "Continue on error" inside "Options" Tab on your TS. Even if App install fail At least the rest ends well...

- I have tried the app with the network cable out, and it works as expected.
- I have used the same credentials to generate the appupload package and to submit it.
- The app starts up and works as expected with a Surface Pro 3, a PC with development tools like Visual Studio; and another PC without anything extra installed.
- The feedback provided by the certification testers is the following sentence: "10.3.1 App is testable: Unfortunately when we reviewed your app, it failed to launch every time."
- Their attachment is a screenshot showing a fullscreen, flat color, rectangle.
- There is no crash report of any kind.
- The e-mail interaction with the certification guys seems to be quite a nonsensical conversation.

What exactly happens when you launch PS CC?
Are there any errors – if so, what are they?
Does it launch and then crash? If so, when exactly does the crash occur?
Does it crash right after launching the application or after the product splash screen or when you use a particular feature?
Does it crash on any specific module like Loading plugins, add-ons, fonts, etc?
Which OS do you have?
Please share the event viewer or console crash logs.

Error starting Media Go: App.ArtworkDatabase - Failed (0x8004e009)

I am using the Media Go software Version 2.7.254.
When I install this software on my computer, the software starts without a problem.
After restarting my computer, the software Media Go won't start agin. The Software shows
a error message that Media Go ist unable to initialize. In the deetails, the following message
appears: App.ArtworkDatabase - Failed (0x8004e009)
By now, I have already serveral times tried to start the software on my computer...but just always I get the same errors..
How can I solve the problem?

Configurator: app authentication failed

Using Itunes 11 I have downloaded the updates for all my apps, I then re-import the apps into apple configurator so that the updated versions of the apps get pushed to my ipads. when it's time to apply the updated apps I get an error message of "checking pairing" then it says "app authentication failed" and none of the new apps are applied and no updates are applied.

I unplugged the usb then re plugged and it repeated the process and worked.

Same issue, too. But I have nothing better to do than try to fix Apple problems that appear mysteriously and randomly; I'm sure you're the same way.
The REAL REASON, which can no longer be overlooked, is that Apple's (probably underpaid sweatshop Chinese) employees build toys for grown-ups and do little more than that. I wish I had never bought my Mac (2009) since few things about Apples are "intuitive" unless you've been an Apple cultist since Jobs introduced the first Mac. Oh, and because things mysteriously stop working, something I don't recall happening with any of the PCs I've owned.
Apple's version of Excel is a total joke and on an update that I did not ask for, the "Save As" feature, a convention that was 30 years old and worked well, was removed in favor of "Duplicate, Rename, Save." What 22 year-old Apple product manager was allowed to make this change?
I foolishly compounded my Mac purchase error by buying an iPhone 4S. On that lovely ($200 Verizon-subsidized) product, I can no longer discover my home network, rendering my ($100) Airplay for outdoor music useless. (But I probably can post a picture directly to Facebook or something! More toyish behavior in which Apple specializes.) Can I get support on these POS with a phone call? No, I need to rely on a Aapl cultist to devise some esoteric key combo or a "jailbreak" on a Support board or blog site.
I'm eligible for a phone upgrade on 8/13 and I'm counting the days. Will upgrade to a good large-screen laptop asap as well and then throw the Mac out my office window. Junk, just junk. Apple's stock is at $433 from $700 and it's still overpriced. How long will this rant last before it's sanitized by the Cupertino Big Brother? Maybe what the children who design product ought to do instead is BUILD BETTER STUFF.

Satellite C650-1CR - webcam initialisation failed

Hi all,
I cannot get the integrated webcam to start.
I have downloaded and installed the latest bios and webcam drivers from the toshiba website which promted the cam to start to initialise.
Now i have an error which says "webcam initialisation failed, please check your device...."
The problem is that there is no listing for the webcam on the device manager screen.
I am at a loss as to how i can get the webcam to work, any suggestions?

Usually the webcam should be listed in device manager under Imagine Devices
In my case its USB Video Device this is the usb Chicony webcam.
Do you have any unknown devices marked with yellow exclamation mark?
If yes, then this is probably the cam
As last option, you could try to recover the notebook using Toshiba Recovery disk which you have created... hopefully...
