Hello All,
I am writting a Package that will be stored in the database.
In this code I need to determine the current Apps user id.
(Probably from fnd_user.) How to I do this?
Any help is appreciated,
Bradley

The FND_PROFILE package is a wonderful this. Many other values can be determined with it thanks.

  • HT204053 Using multi-user IDS and passwords to access the apps website is turning me into an Apple hater, frankly. Am I alone in the crowd of users?

Ihave abouy 4-5 different user IDS and passwords that I have to juggle to get access to the Apps store. Almost every time I try to get an update, etc., I have to go through the routine of either changing both user ID and password, or just the password. I am a long-time Apple customer but have drifted as far as possible from using Apple updates and purchases. It's just not worth the time, exasperation and energy involved. I can understand that Apple doesn't want to have varied IDs wrapped into a single ID, but it would be helpful if Apple took the time to delete all but one user ID, upon the request of an Apple customer, instead of spending so much time issuing yet another iPad and iPhone. At least, have mercy on some of Apple customers who are still buying snd using laptops and desk tops. HELP!!!

I'm not sure how you came to have so many Apple IDs, but I'd suggest that you simplify things.
I just checked the "Apple ID Support" page:
    http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/
as I imagine you have, too, and I find no instructions for closing or deleting an Apple ID, but you could simplify things quite a bit by using only one Apple ID on all of your devices.
It will take a bit of time, but I think you'll find that it's worth it.
If I were you, I would just delete all purchased apps (if you've purchased music, that's a whole different issue - but you could probably simplify your music purchases, too) from all devices accept one - your most "important" device -  and log out from all other devices. Then log in from those other devices using your preferred Apple ID, and reinstall the apps and other stuff.
It's going to be tedious, and it'll take some time, but I think you'll have a much better experience over the long term.
For one thing, you'd always be notified automatically to update/upgrade your stuff, and your log-ins to do so would be much easier.
I know it's not good news, but I hope it helps.

  • New Apps User defaults with all User Edition Privileges - Security Breach?

Please check the following Scenario/Issue and please let me know if anyone has a solution for it.
    1. In Apps, created following Responsibilities
    - Payables Inquiry-Only User
    - Projects Inquiry-Only User
    2. In Discoverer Admin, Tools->Privileges, assigned following privilege to "Payables Inquiry-Only User"
    - User Edition Parent only (unchecked all child privileges such as Create/Edit Query)
    3. In Discoverer Admin, Tools->Security, mapped following Responsibilities/Business Areas (BA)
    - Resp: Payables Inquiry-Only User BA: AP Payables
    - Resp: Projects Inquiry-Only User BA: PA Projects
    4. In Apps, created user DISC_INQUIRY_USER, assigned following responsibilities
    - Payables Inquiry-Only User
    - Projects Inquiry-Only User
    5. At this stage, if user connects to User Edition;
    - user is able to create new query in BA: AP Payables or BA: PA Projects depending on login Responsibility
    - By default Discoverer assigns all User Edition Privileges to new Apps User including Create/Edit Query
    Requirement
    1. Create new Apps User DISC_INQUIRY_USER, assign it Inquiry-Only Responsbilities
    2. Login to User Edition - DISC_INQUIRY_USER: Payables Inquiry-Only User
    - User can inquiry Workbooks associated with Resp: Payables Inqiry-Only user
    - Should not be able to create new workbooks
    3. Login to User Edition - DISC_INQUIRY_USER: Projects Inquiry-Only User
    - User can inquiry Workbooks associated with Resp: Projects Inquiry-Only User
    - Should not be able to create new workbooks
    Issue
There is time-gap between creating Apps User and login to Discoverer Admin to remove user privileges. This is security Breach, is their any way to change get around it.
    - Discoverer gives precedence to Responsibility Privileges over User Privileges. Is their any way to change it?
    - Is it possible to change default Privileges for new Apps User?
    - I am facing this issue in Discoverer 4.1.48, Does discoverer Admin behaves differently in latest Versions?

Nobody helps you except yourself. ;)
So, this query get privileges for user PUBLIC
    select eap.ap_id, eap.gp_app_id
    from eul5_eul_users eeu,
    eul5_access_privs eap
    where eeu.eu_username = 'PUBLIC'
    and eap.ap_eu_id = eeu.eu_id
    and eap.ap_type = 'GP'
    In my case
    3001     1000
    3002     1001
    3003     1002
    3004     1003
    3005     1004
    3006     1005
    3015     1013
    3016     1014
    3017     1018
    3018     1024
I research а corresponding between gp_app_id (second column) and real name of privilege and get the next list:
    1000     Discoverer and Plus Privilege
    1001     Create/Edit Query
    1002     Item Drill
    1003     Drill Out
    1004     Grant Workbook
    1005     Collect Query Statistics
    1006     Administration Privilege
    1007     Set Privilege
    1008     Create/Edit Business Area
    1009     Format Business Area
    1010     Create/Edit Summaries
    1012     Schedule Workbook
    1013     Unknown
    1014     Save Workbooks to Database
    1015     Manage Scheduled Workbooks
    1018     Unknown
    1024     Create Link
So, the ID of privilege 'Save Workbooks to Database' is 1014. This privilege exists in table in spite of in Discoverer Administrator this option UNCHECK for user PUBLIC.
    This is a REAL BUG!!!
    Then I executed query
    delete from eul5_access_privs where ap_id = 3016
and after that all became right.
Now please explain me this bug. And I have question - which privileges have IDs 1013 and 1018?
    Thank you.

  • Is there a way to sync my saved user ids and passwords between Mac and iPhone using iCloud?

Is there a way to sync my saved user ids and passwords in Safari between Mac and iPhone using iCloud? Like I can do using Chrome for Mac and iOS...

You three would do better to sync to google directly.  Google has a blackberry app that will allow you to sync your contacts and calendars.  The app isn't perfect, but it works reasonably well, especially if you're just using one calendar to sync.
Then there's plenty of ways to sync those to your iPad using Google, including Exchange, or simply adding it as a google account.
As for iCloud, there really isn't any supported or unsupported method to do what you're trying to do, at least at this time.  If there is, it would definitely be a hack and I would be wary of risking your contact or calendar data on it..

  • Merging Adobe user IDs

Hi, I have DRMed ebooks purchased from various online resellers that have been authorized using 2 different Adobe user IDs.
How can I consolidate these ebook purchases into 1 Adobe user ID?
This is not a problem for reading on my pc where I can authorize multiple IDs on ADE 2.0 - but on my tablet, I use UB Reader which can only authorize 1 Adobe ID.
    Many thanks for your help!

    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/volume-licensing-site.html
    Talk there about merging account and a direct link to chat with an agent;
I'm not sure if that is for domestic accounts or not.
You could try adding another ereader app to the tablet, such as Bluefire (suggested) or Aldiko or Overdrive.
You might be able to authorize that with a different account than UB Reader.
Not as convenient as merging accounts, but maybe not too bad?
How do you authorize ADE2 with more than one Adobe account.
I have seen you can add vendor accounts, but have not seen how to handle >1 Adobe account.

  • No more mixed-case user IDs?

    Hello,
Since upgrading from app server 7 to web server 7, I have had reports of malfunctioning webapps that have seemed to work fine for me. Today I discovered the source of the problem - mixed-case user IDs.
Specifically, the username that the user supplies during basic authentication is of the form "FirstnameLastname", with capitalization as shown (e.g., "JohnSmith"). On as7, if a user's uid in our LDAP directory was JohnSmith and he attempted to log in as johnsmith, authentication would fail due to mismatched case.
However, since moving to ws7, case is no longer significant - JohnSmith = johnsmith = JoHnSmItH. Is there a way I can configure my ws7 instances to use the old, mixed-case approach? Or is this a known bug in ws7 that is being addressed?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Yes, I knew this (and even did an ldapsearch to verify it). However, I can say with certainty that on our old server (app server 7) login would fail if the case was not respected.
So either app server 7 was wrong to restrict logins based on uid case, or web server 7 is wrong not to restrict logins based on case. Since this is UNIX we're talking about here, and not Windoze, I would think case should be significant.
    Thanks,
    Bill

  • Discoverer Viewer/Plus does not work with Custom EUL owned by APPS user

I am facing a unique issue with one of my customers. They have a custom EUL named XX_EUL_US and this does not allow connecting through discoverer viewer or discoverer plus.
I have worked with custom EULS before at other customers and this was never the case. I am being told that this issue is happening as the EUL owner is APPS instead of some other user. Is this the case? Can discoverer viewer not be used with EULs owned by apps user?
Please not that the Default EUL in ICX profiles is set to this EUL and no other EUL profiles are set.
    Appreciate any thoughts on this.

    Hi,
I am not sure what you mean when you say you have a "custom EUL named XX_EUL_US". The EUL table should be created in a schema named XX_EUL_US. This will then be the EUL owner. You will then need to connect to Discoverer Administrator as the EUL owner and grant privileges to Apps users and/or responsibilities.
The user should then be able to connect to Discoverer Plus/View using their apps username, responsibility and password.
To be able to connect directly from an apps menu you need to have the ICX parameters set correctly. The ICX: Discoverer Default End User Layer Schema Prefix should be set to XX_EUL (without the _US). The ICX: Discoverer End User Layer Language Override should be set to US or not set at all.

  • Sharing iTunes library across 2 Windows user IDs

My Windows XP computer is set up with 2 user accounts. iTunes is installed and all of my music is stored in my Shared Music folder (this folder is in Shared Documents, which is accessible from each user ID).
I want to be able to use iTunes from either Windows user ID. The problem is that iTunes creates and maintains 2 separate iTunes Music Library.xml files. When I'm logged on (user #1), iTunes uses the xml file in my My Documents folder. When my spouse is logged on (user #2), iTunes uses the xml file in her My Documents folder.
This is problematic. If I add a new song to iTunes from my Windows ID (and the song file is placed in the Shared Music folder), it is added to my library and xml file. If my spouse logs on and launches iTunes, the song is NOT in her iTunes library. She has to manually add the file from the iTunes Add File to Library command.
I'd like iTunes to use a single library that both Windows user IDs can use and maintain. I don't want to have to manually try to keep these in sync.
I can't find any setting in iTunes for this, and the user guide doesn't even mention this topic. Any help is appreciated!!!

    TheMint,
I think it works like this:
The setting you describe is where iTunes will store the music files themselves (.aac or .mp3, etc.) However, iTunes creates an index of all of your music, and it uses that index to display all of your music in iTunes. The index file is called iTunes Library.xml
The index is stored in the My Documents\My Music folder of the user ID you log in as. Apparently, you cannot tell iTunes to store this in a different location.
So if you create an iTunes library under one Windows user ID, the index is created in that user ID's My Documents\My Music folder. If you then log in as another Windows user ID, iTunes does not see the index that was created by the first Windows user. Thus you do not see any of the music listed in iTunes.

  • How do I copy purchases between 2 itunes libraries on the same computer with different log ins and separate apple user ids?

How do I copy purchases between 2 itunes libraries on the same computer with different log ins and separate apple user ids?

Load the library which doesn't contain the songs and drag them into the open iTunes application window. If you need to move them between different computer user accounts, put them into /Users/Shared/.

  • Sharing music at home; sharing User IDs

My wife and I are faced with a problem of playing music from the iTunes library we have built over the past few years either from CDs or from the Apple iTunes Store.
I recently imported all our Cds into iTunes to save space and allow equal access. Our music now exists on ONE external hard drive. Most music tracks were imported from CDs, and therefore we don't have any restrictions who can play them. But then there is the music that either of us bought before and since married with our different User IDs. This means that music can only be accessed if originally bought by that person and on that authorized Mac.
    So what can we do?
Is homesharing a good option? is it a viable option? Doesn't this require both Macs to be open at the same time to enjoy the music? What happens if I go to work with the music hard drive, and my wife needs to listen to tracks? I'd like to clone our music drive so she can access music in this situation, but it wouldn't allow her to listen to music I bought.
Placing all the music on one hard drive makes it easier to consolidate your library, but only if you can access all the music.
What have couples done in the past? Once married, do they create a 'couples' ID and buy music together for the home? Do you authorize your computers to that new account? And if so, what about the older music bought with older User IDs?
How do people work around the authorization problem as well?
Maybe the solution is to create non DRM versions of all our music and then we might be ok? Is that the only solution?
I'd appreciate any thoughts on this matter.

ps: EULA has destroyed the idea of sharing. Piracy is so much easier with digital files, but knowing that parents can't hand down their music or films etc to their kids is very sad.

You seem to be making quite a few incorrect assumptions in your post.

Why do you think it means that? (it doesn't)
    So what can we do?
Keep the music on a hard drive at home.
Is homesharing a good option? is it a viable option? Doesn't this require both Macs to be open at the same time to enjoy the music?
    Yes.
What happens if I go to work with the music hard drive, and my wife needs to listen to tracks?
"The hard drive"? As in a single hard drive? Don't you each have hard drives on own computers? She can listen to all the tracks in her library.
I'd like to clone our music drive so she can access music in this situation, but it wouldn't allow her to listen to music I bought.
Why do you think this? iTunes purchases have been DRM free for almost 5 years.
And even with DRM, just authorize the computer for each others account (which is automatically done when you enable Home Sharing).
What have couples done in the past? Once married, do they create a 'couples' ID and buy music together for the home?
Personally, I would not recommend it. Keep the accounts you have. No sense in tossing another into the mix.
And if so, what about the older music bought with older User IDs?
    Just play it.
but knowing that parents can't hand down their music or films etc to their kids is very sad.
    Why can't they?

Try to look at infotype 0105 subtype 0001 for getting active users.
Ideally all these ID should be active
if not then they should be another check for Employment Status '3' from Infotype 0000

  • Automatic Creation of User IDs

Does anyone know of a standard SAP report/program that will generate User IDs for personnel records? I have a requirement to define a procedure that will review personel numbers to determine whether or not that personel number has an ID assigned to it. If it does not, then the report/program will generate an ID according to a particular naming convention. And of course, this report/program would assign the correct roles according to the position defined.
I know that there are reports/programs that will update a user's access as he/she moves from position to position. I am hoping for one that will assist in the ID creation process.
Maybe this is wishfull thinking on my part....
    I await your reponses!

Sounds like you want to implement your own ESS (Employee Self-Service) application ...
Before doing so, it might be advisable to check on what is already available.
The Business Partner concept is a more general concept (only only restricted to "employees" and "applicants" but also applicable on "customers", "resellers", etc.) which also allows to assign logon data to "business entities".
So, it would be helpful to know what you actually intend to achieve.

  • Why an insert journal concurrent works for one app user and not for other?

We have two app users. User A and User B. They have same responsibilities and grants over same functions and menus. When they run  a custom insert journal concurrent, only user A can execute it successfully.
User B uses same parameters and data  as User A, but when User B  runs concurrent, it  always  fails

  • Pro Apps User licence cannot be used in Boot Camp?

I use Logic Studio and so I have a "Pro Apps User" license that enables QT Pro in OSX where I have Logic installed, but there's no registration code (it says "Automatic"). However I also use Boot Camp to run XP on my MBP and I need to use QTPro in XP: must I buy a separate license for running QT Pro under XP with BootCamp? Or is there some way to use this license for both? In this context, there's only one copy of QT Pro being used at any one time.
    Thanks.

To my understanding, since QuickTime Pro has separate license keys for OSX and for Windows, the "Pro Apps" is for OSX only (since Logic Studio only runs in OSX). So, yes, to use Pro on the Windows partition would be a separate license.
