APTV2 and Sony DAV-DZ630 Home Cinema

Hi,
I have just received my new APTV2 and want to connect it up to make use of my home cinema.
I have used a HDMI lead to connect APTV2 to my TV, (Sony KDL-37V4000), but no audio/sound is returned through the TV, picture display is fine.
There is an optical output on APTV2, but there is no optical input on my home cinema (Sony DAV-DZ630), there is just a DMPORT and a red and white AV in connectors.
I've tried searching on line for a cable which converts from optical to DMPORT but can't see any available, can some one let me know how to get this set-up?

I connect the tv to the home home cinema via a HDMI lead. The tv has Bravia Sync, but I don.y think it is set up correctly......
I don't have very much knowledge of AV gear, which doesn't help in these situation.....

Connecting SBLive 5.1 Digital to Sony 5.1 Home Cinema Sys

Hi,
Anyone know which is the best cable to connect the above. I think I need a Digital DIN to TOSlink cable but cannot find one anywhere in the UK.
There are digital connectors on the daughter card from my soundcard and a TOSlink connector on my Sony HCS.
Can anyone help.

The Sony HCS also has standard red/white phono inputs and coaxial (looks like a phono input but different colour) as well as the TOSlink.
Whats the best way to connect up to get 5. surround sound from the SBLi've. Should I use the SPDIF output on the SBLi've instead?

2010 mac mini Home cinema sound and Home cinema headphones

Hello
im waiting for my 2010 mac mini to arrive,
ive experience with home cinema setups in the past.
Im looking to use my mac mini as a home cinema set up.
Im fine with the visual side ( projectors and hdtv).
The audio.
How on earth do i get home cinema sound into headphones.
due to where i live, headphones are the only option i have ( neighbours dont like noise.)
ive tried :-
sony mdr-drs7100
Pioneer SE-DRS3000c
pioneer dir-8000c.
the three above are ok as they have home cinema audio processing built in and worked with the optical digital output fine.
bass on the above 3 is weak.
i aso will prefer a wired set of headphones ( had enough of wireless)
im now looking at another route.
1) a decent headphone amplifier capable of playing DTS and Dolby digital 5.1
2) decent set of headphones to handle the above.
anyone any setups they can share that work

My issue was resolved by ensuring that I was using a PAL resolution and frequency (720p @ 50 Hz or 1080p @ 50 Hz) for my PAL TV. Anything else causes audio stuttering through my HDMI cable.
Don't ask me why. Try this on your setup by using only the one of your TV's native resolutions and frequencies (Should say NTSC Television on every native TV resolution if you are in the US, PAL Television in Europe). If you do have an NTSC TV, then you might be able to use all of the 60 Hz frequency resolutions without HDMI audio out problems, but I wouldn't count on it.
From what I've researched on the issue, it is only TV's that have this problem, and it is a strange one, as it is actually a display setting problem with an audio error symptom.

I have just bought a New Ipod Classic 120gb and connected it to my Samsung LCD TV and Home cinema systems. The Ipod connects fine but the order of the music on the tv is all mixed up. Is there anyway to sort out the order so it displays in album or even artist order?

Yes, I bought the dock so I could hook it up to my tv. Then I had to buy the cable, I didn't get the cable from Apple. at the time the cable was $50, I went to ebay & found the same cable for about $20. Just like you, I could not find an answer about why the dumb thing wouldn't work, so I just had do my own experiments. Good luck getting Apple to do anything. They don't seem to want to give anything away or replace merchandise.

Macbook and samsung home cinema

I'm trying to connect a macbook to a Samsung HT-X620 via bluetooth but unsuccessfully...any ideas? I'm guessing that its due to the Samsung manual reading :
"The Home Cinema System only supports Middle Quality SBC data(up to 237kbps@48kHz), and does not support High Quality SBC data([email protected])."

Xtrememusic and Home Cinema

I have recently purchased a home cinema from LG and I connected it from the optical digital in that it has to the flexijac in my card, using a optical/3.5 jack cable. Still I got no sound whatsoever! I tried to check the Enable I/O in the sound propreties, Digital I/O in the flexijac connections options in the mixer.
How can I make it work? Thank you!!!

Pairing iphone 5 to a sony home cinema system

I recently purchased a sony BDV E3100 home theatre system and tried to pair my iphone 5 to it via bluetooth to enable me to listen to music through it, but it just doesn't seem to find the device. I've spent ages trying but no joy.

Sony TV and Sony Home Theater not connecting?

Hi Experts i have got a Sony TV (70W850B) and Sony Home Theater (BDVN9200WB), connected with a high speed HDMI cable with both ARC jack, however no sounds coming out from the speakers when wacthing TV. the facts: 1) the HDMI cable is high speed HDMI cable bought recently, one end plud into the ARC out jack on the receiver and the other end into the TV HDMI 2 (ARC). 2) TV Setting - audio is set for out put as home theatre and 'Subwoofer' 3) Home theater setting - HDMI control is ON, ARC is AUTO. 4) Can auctually operate the home theatre on TV screen via HDMI input, test all speakers are working. 5) Just no sounds when turn on the TV channels or topbox etc Any ideas? You may try adding Digital Optical connection from the TV to the Home Theater System if they supports Digital Optical connection.

770-c45 connect with Home Cinema via coaxial

Hi there, I just bought a new computer with the 770-c45 motherboard in. I'm trying to connect it with my Home Cinema amplifier, via coaxial cable just like I already have my old computer. In the rear panel I put the mini jack in the black pin but I can't get any sound. My Home Cinema is Sony dav dz260 and it supports Dolby Digital 5+1.
I installed the latest drivers for the motherboard but nothing seems to happen. When I connect the cable in the black pin, it recognizes it as an analogue connection. The cable is mini jack at the one end of the cable and at the other one RCA. Could you please help me

MacMini as centre of Home Cinema System

I am looking to use a MacMini as the centre of my Home Cinema system.
The intention is to connect the MacMini to my existing Sony Projector (VLP CX85). I know this is not the best projector for this kind of things, but it is one I have had for some time and I am happy with the image quality for now. I recognise I will need to use a Mini to RGB adapter to do this - I already do that using a Macbook Air. I assume then that I will be able to store all my films on the MacMini HD and use FrontRow to access them and my iTunes library as well as viewing photos/video created with Aperture or iPhoto. Yes?
Woud this be preferable to buying the MacMini Server and using that to do the same thing? Or even the MacTV?
Any pointers to Home Cinema systems which are Mac based would be gratefully received or any other information related to this kind of issue would be helpful.
I already run an iTunes system with three Airport Express points and speakers throughout my house.

Yes. You may run into issues with movies purchased from the iTunes Store and HDCP, though, if you use a VGA connection to the projector.

A Mac mini server would do the same thing, but the only advantage would be having the dual 500-GB drives. I'd suggest the standard mini and an external drive if you need more storage space.
Or even the MacTV?
Presuming you mean the Apple TV, other than price I'm not sure the Apple TV offers a lot of advantage over a Mac mini other than the ability to stream content from iTunes on another computer. Note as well that the Apple TV does not have a VGA output; HDMI and component video only.

How to send Spotify to a home cinema Amp using my wifi network ?

I recently got a Z3TC and wanted to replace my macbook pro as a Spotify center for my home cinema Amp. It's a Denon X4000 with Airplay and Dlna available.
On the macbook with airplay there's no pb to send some music to the Denon.
But with the Z3TC it seems to be not so easy. Is there a way to do it ?
As for my phone, I might have to use an app like Airaudio but it requires the device to be rooted (and i don't really want to), and as i tested it for my phone, it's not so good as airplay. There's a delay and sometimes lost connection.
So anything to help me send music (or videos btw) to the Denon Amp ? I mainly use Spotify.

I'm afraid DLNA will not work for Spotify. DLNA basically shares the files that are stored in your phone and will not work for streaming services as it's your receiver that will be playing the file, not the phone. Even with offline playslists, the files from Spotify are DRM-protected so your receiver can't play them.
But looking at the manual for X4000 your receiver has builtin support for Spotify. Spotify also has a feature called Spotify Connect in their app but i'm not sure if that will work with your receiver.
Locally saved videos (that are not DRM-protected) can be played over DLNA using "Throw" as long as the receiver supports the file format. To mirror the phones display (menus, streaming and so on) you need a Miracast-receiver or a Chromecast (casting of screen in Chromecast is still in beta though).

You will need a Windows PC with iTunes running and a working copy of Windows Media Player available on the machine. (iTunes calls WMP for the conversion from WMA). Then just drag the WMA file(s) into the iTunes Music window.
iTunes will detect it and give you the dialog shown below, to which you choose "Convert." iTunes will create a new version in the format/bitrate set in your Import preferences (MP3 in my example below), and immediately add it to your iTunes library.
The WMA original will be left in place, so you can delete it if you have no other need for it.

HOW to Burning A dvd with 5.1 audio AND WATCH IT AT HOME ?

I have had I nightmare with the compressor application trying to burn 5.1 audio and the film together had no luck . I wonder what does a guy do to listen to 5.1 files in his home cinema set up ? I know that I can bounce the 5.1 audio into the film in logic but can I burn a dvd with the 5.1 audio and film and take it home and listen to what I have done in a non studio environment ?
Would much appreciate some help on this cause frustration is not the word to discribe me going nuts for like 5 hours trying to figure out how that non musical program works .

Ah, got it.
Since you have Compressor I would guess you also have DVD Studio Pro. Anyway a quick movie showing how to do it. Drag the m2v and audio into the asset bin (you will see it in the lower left of the movie) then it goes through the steps. Note the audio and video streams are not the same length, I just threw it together quickly to show you. Of course menus can be fanbcier and all the rest and there may be some gotchas in the details, but it will generally work. Also make sure to set a First Play for the disc. Usually it is good to have a small couple seconds of black frames or warning on a track before jumping off to the next thing, and you can set the Track to be first play in this case if you like. try to use good media (DVD-R/+R) brands like Taiyo Yuden, cheaper media can cause issues.
