AQ Subscriber not reciving notification after database restart

Hi All,
I am currently working on moving some code from two synchronous processes to be asynchronous (not part of critical code path), to do this I have been using one Advanced Queue with two PLSQL registered subscribers.
when we first moved the code into test it was working fine and the data would be processed from the queue quite quickly.
however we then had to restart the database for another reason and after that I noticed that queue was slowly building up with nothing moving from the "READY" state.
having a look at aq$<queue_table>s the two subscribers are still shown and it appears like the user id still has the correct grants and priviledges. I have also checked to make sure that the aqtm_processes is still > 0 and that the QMNC and EMN0 backgroud processes are in v$bgprocess.
Can anybody else suggest what i might have missed? I do not want to have to drop and recreate the queue and subscribers whenever the database needs to come down.
Also I know if the subscriber was down and then bought back up it would not process the backlog but is there anyway of getting it to do this?

Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit

I had not set the paramater the DBA had set it and i think their reasoning was:

"Oracle strongly recommends that you do NOT set AQ_TM_PROCESSES = 0"
although reading a few lines up from there:
"Oracle recommends, however, that you leave the AQ_TM_PROCESSES parameter unspecified and let the system autotune"
As there is another planned outage this weekend i will try resetting the paramater to see if the queues are still dequeueing correctly:
alter system reset AQ_TM_PROCESSES scope=spfile sid='*'
If they are not dequeueing I will try stopping and starting them however I would prefer not to have to do this as then whenever a new queue is introduced with subscribers we would need to add to the scripts run after db startup.
I did find out that removing the subscriber and then recreating it will cause the subscribers to work again but i would prefer to not have to do this after every db restart.

Hi Awen,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you installed prerequisities for SharePoint 2013.
Please run the following command, compare the result:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regii -enable –i

FontBook does not keep settings after computer restart

I have thousands of fonts on my HD folder, and a standards set of System and Library fonts. Any time I disactivate and acivate certain font families, my FontBook keeps these settings (for activation and disactivation) ONLY UNTILL next computer restart cycle.
After restart, when I load my FontBook application to check my fonts settings (for to make the fonts I set previously working again), Fontbook starts activating all my thousands fonts in my custom library, taking munites of waiting for a spinning wheel. I also do not see (off) signs for fonts diactivated during previous session. I see lots of duplicate font warning because Font Book is auto-activate all.
Consiquently, I have to reppeat all the process of activation/disactivation and to help my computer working with less fonts load and resolve duplicates.
So, why Font Book does not keep setting for fonts activation/disactivation in a custom library after computer restart?

HT6114 Help! OS X 10.9.2 not installing even after repeated restarts.

Hello, I am trying to update from OS X 10.9 to 10.9.2 but every time I click on the update option it asks for restart even after the restart and after every restart it gets added in the completed downloads list . Please help !

I found a fix, or rather, a work around for this 513 permissions error issue. It doesn't require you to reinstall the OS, or boot from the recovery partition. Note that booting from my installation drive and repairing permissions didn't work for me. Neither did running combo update, or anything else, such as repairing ACL permissions, etc.
Simply Carbon Copy Clone your primary, non updateable drive to another drive. I used the last free version of Carbon Copy Cloner.
Then, boot from that other drive. Notice that you can now download and update to 10.9.2. Do all the updates, repair permissions if you'd like, then Carbone Copy Clone the now updated 10.9.2 drive to the formerly non updateable drive. Boot from the new primary drive.

Queuing fails after database restart

Hi All
Currently we are on a test run of our application invloving advance queuing. The application involves queueing between 2 databases over a dblink.
when we create queue tables ,create queues, start queues, add subscribers, enable propogation on both db's . it works fine. but why doesnt queuing withstand a database restart.
The propogation to queues over dblinks fails , the moment i restart the databases. What could be the error .
I have to recreate all queue tables, queues, add subscribers , enable propagation all over again if i restart the db's.
My enqueuing process is initated on a trigger in a table with visibility on commit.
And i have dequeuing process on dbms_aq.listen.

Oracle Streams not working after database restart

Hi,
I am new at this so hope that somebody out there can give me some guidance.. I have managed to setup the streams properly on both my 10g database as per the scripts given in StreamsAdminConfig.sql and StreamsSetup.sql.. It worked beautifully on both direction.
However when i restarted DB1.. suddenly the replication become just one directional only, namely from DB1 -> DB2. I have tried to do DBMS_STREAMS_ADM.STOP_APPLY, STOP_CAPTURE, START_APPLY, START_CAPTURE many times on both DB1 and DB2 but still it works only in one direction.
Later I tried to restart both databases and not it does not work at all (both direction).. Tried restarting the apply and capture process many times too but get no success. Any idea what I could check or try to find out what when wrong. Thanks.

Error in reports after database restart

Hi,
I am making reports using OBI with oracle 10.1.0 . I made some charts, pivot tables
and some graphs. these are working fine until i restart the database. when i restart the
data base the tables are show again at dash board but all pictorial type reports not work
untill i make them again.
it gives me error like
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. [Socket:888]while table by the same query is giving result. only graphical thing give error even after i
redraw them.

Reconnect to portal database after database restart

Hi,
After having seen a 24/7 EP system in production for a while, there is one contributing factor which is causing more downtime than we would like (even though the downtime is very small).
When ever the portal database is restarted or we loose the network connection, the SAP J2EE (and hence EP) is not able to reconnect to the database (as you would expect from such a mature product). The forces us to take down the entire cluster (yes the cluster is big and takes a lot of time to restart) and then take it up again.
An OSS has been open (and been through development) and the verdict is that it cannot be done.
However, I don't believe them. Some of you SAP expert here must know of some very cleaver hack to get this working.
If you have any ideas or experience with this, please do not hesitate to post it.

Managed to find some undocumented command that did the trick.
1. Telnet to the administration console (port 50008 is standard ?)
2. Login as administrator
3. Run the lsc command in order to get the cluster id of an application node
4. Change the active node to an application node
>jump <clusterId>
5. Add the dbpool command set
>add dbpool
6. Close the database pool
>close_pool <poolname> -force
7. Open the database pool
>open_pool <poolname>
From the SAP J2EE administration console in the dbpool there seems to be a functionality for closing and opening the pool, but this doesn't work, at least not in PL21 (maybe it doesn't force the connections to close)

Messages.app not giving notifications after time machine restore

On Mavericks
So Messages.app stopped working yesterday.. Got the message
"There was a problem with Messages. You need to quit and open Messages again."
So after quiting and restarting.. all the history disappeared..
I restored ~/Library/Messages from time machine from a day earlier..
Now the notification has stopped working.. No bubble as well to notify new message
1) Tried disable / enable message on Mac and iPhone
2) Tried Disk repair for any permission issues
Any ideas? How to fix this??

So what version is Messages saying it is Now ?
Which version did you try to Time Machine back to the computer ?
Since iChat 3 the App has to match with the OS level.
This applies down to increment levels as well.

File not found error after database migration

Hi experts
I recently decided to create a test environment for SharePoint 2010 production server but after
attach the content database using power shell successfully I get “ file not found “ error when I try to login the top site collection
I think it’s because of customized master page in production site which I don’t know how to apply them to my new environment.I even tried to copy the master pages from cataloge throught SPD but it didnt work.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Firefox (ver.7, ver11) do not keep settings after its restarting

All my settings from menu options>options disappear after restarting FireFox. But primarily it was not so! The complete reinstallation (with uninstallation) do not remove the problem.

Tuxedo not starting up after Database upgrade to 9.2.0.8 on AIX 5.2

Server AIX 5.2
Database 9.2.0.8.
I recently upgraded my Oracle database from 9.2.0.6 to 9.2.0.8 and after the upgrade Tuxedo has failed to start successfully.
I am getting the error messages
CMDTUX_CAT:819: INFO: Process id=41800 Assume started (pipe)..
I have been reading a number of articles on metalink and the web and they seem to point to an incompatible version somewhere.
The upgrade went through without any error messages.
The strange thing is that the XA log files from when the application was working correctly before the upgrade show
ORACLE XA: Version 9.2.0.1.0. RM name = 'Oracle_XA'
in the headers of the logfiles however after the upgrade the info in the header has changed to
ORACLE XA: Version 8.0.6.0.0. RM name = 'Oracle_XA'.
Does anyone know any reason why the 9.2.0.8 patch will changed the Oracle_XA version?
Has anyone come across this before?

I know this may sound silly but after the upgrade (and this is the second time i have done it) it seems to change the format of the logfiles.
This happened last week and the patch was rolled back and the application worked fine.
Did the upgrade again and the same issue arose.
The app dont start and the logfile format have changed again.
The format before the upgrade was xa_CLSUAT_07022007 but after the upgrade it as changed to xa_CLSUAT_070207.
The upgrade went fine but my question here is does the 9208 change any date format in the database?

Trackpad will not select user after Mac restart

Trackpad works fine normally but after restart of Mac, will not click on user (cursor moves over it) so I have to use a mouse to click & enter password. All software is up to date. Any ideas.

The following was suggested on another thread but I've tried it & it doesn't solve the issue:
System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click
Tap to click
Secondary click
Uncheck the boxes to it if they are checked and recheck them back.
Any other ideas?

Application does not start automatically after J2EE restart

Hi,
Is there a way to automatically start the deployed applications after a J2EE restart. We have a .ear file which we have to redeploy everytime we restart the J2EE engine. We are on 6.40 SP15.

Has any of you used the startup mode setting? I tried using it and set it to always but the application still won't start. Is there anything I'm missing?
