  • Rapid Deployment Solution for SAP CRM - Landscape

    Hi
For the first time we have applied the Rapid Deployment Solution for SAP CRM ITSDO into our new DEV system.  The activation of this RDS creates 2 transports  (one WORKBENCH, one CUSTOMIZING)
I now need to apply the RDS to our QA and PRD systems - is it enough to just transport the 2 transports or do I need to do the entire activation again in both QA and PRD systems?
I would really appreciate any assistance here.
    Thanks

    Hi Leigh,
Just wondering how you got on with those transports.. Was it sufficient for you to release the Solution Builder transports to target system or did you need to carry out manual activities in the target system?
Also, What did you do with regard to activating the reporting client in the target system? did the transport take care of everyting?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • What is the best solution for SAP R/3 4.7 and Windows mobile 5.0 Pocket PC?

    Hi All,
I'm trying to connect SAP R/3 4.7 with RFC from Mobile application , now i'm using .net 2005 Windows mobile 5.0 pocket pc. Does Sap.net connector work for this project?
    BR,
    Prachya.

    Hi Prachya,
it will not work on a PDA, because the .Net Compact Framework has only a limited instructionset of the .NET Framework and so you run into compile errors. You have to create the Proxies in Visual Studio 2003 anyway, because the .NEt connector requests Visual Studio 2003 for installation - at least this was the case 3 months ago still. once it is created you can import it to Visual Studio 2005 and use it there. But if you try to do that in a PDA App, you run into compile errors - as I said above.
I guess in your case another approach would make more sence - as you are not willing to use MI for your app.
Either you use MS SQL Server in between. On the PDA you can use SQL Everywhere/Mobile/CE (they change the name constantly, but it is the SQL Server for the PDA from MS) and connect it to an SQL server. there is a build in Sync functionality with the SQL server. You will find helpfull introductions on MSDN. And from the SQL Server you can connect to the Backend with your .Net connector. But this solution has its problems, because the build in sync with SQL server is a little tricky - and you need to license SQL server.
On the other hand: you can implement a Webservice, that connects with the PDA. This is possible with the .NEt Compact framework. And from the WebService you connect with your .NEt connector to the R/3 system. This will work fine - but you have to take care of the delta handling.
Hope this helps a little to answer your question - and why not use MI for that?

    Oliver

  • Data storage solution for SAP BO

    Hello,
Is there a storage platform that SAP prefers for Business One SQL databases? For example, Storage Area Networks? Some big storage Vendors are HP, EMC, is there a preference on which vendor and which product?
I would appreciate it if you could share any of your experience on this topic. Thanks.
    Yi

    Hi Yi,
I suppose this forum may not be the right place for this question since it is mostly about the SAP Business One SDK and related questions.
I propose that you contact your SAP sales representative who should forward you accordingly - or give you the information you are asking for.
I remember having heard about special offerings from hardware vendors for B1 partners customers, but I don't know about any recommendation.
If you would like to get recommendations from other partners or customers, I would suggest that you ask the question in the SAP community forum (www.sap.com/community) or the SAP Business One forum on Channel Partner Solution Network (CPSN): http://cpsn-channel.sap.com/businessoneforum

  • Row Level Security not working for SAP R/3

    Hi Guys
We have an environment where the details are as mentioned below:
    1. Crystal Reports are created using Open SQL driver to extract data from SAP R/3 using the SAP Integration Kit.
    2. The SAP roles are imported in Business Objects CMC.
    3. Crystal Reports are published on the Enterprise as well.
    3. Authorization objects are created in SAP R/3 and added as required for the row level security as mentioned in the SAP Installation guide as well. The aim is when the user logs into the Infoview and refreshes the report he should only see data that he is meant to so through the authorization objects. The data security works very much fine when the reports are designed directly on the table but when the reports are built on the Business View it doesnt work hence the user is able to see all data.
Any help in this issue is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards
    Kamal

    Hi,
In order for row level security to work for you using the OpenSql driver, you need to configure the Security Definition Editor on your SAP server.  This is a server side tool which the Integration solution for SAP offers as a transport.
This tool defined which tables are to be restricted based on authorizations.
However since you are seeing the issue on reports based on Business Views, you need to identify whether the Business View is configured in such a way where the user refreshing the report is based on the user logging into Infoview.  If the connection to your SAP server is always established with the same user when BV is used then you security definition is pointless.
You can confirm this by tracing your SAP server to identify what user is being used to logon to SAP to refresh the reports.
    thanks

  • Migration of "CRONACLE for SAP solutions" to "SAP CPS for Netweaver"

    Hi,
We have standalone  Cronacle/CPS 6.02.  We are in the process of researching about migrating to  "SAP CPS for Netweaver"  like SAP CPS M33. We have the following questions.
1)Is a migration path available to migrate from "CRONACLE for SAP solutions" to "SAP CPS for Netweaver" ?.
2)What are the benefits of going to "SAP CPS for Netweaver" ?.
3)Is the migration can be done by ourselves or any SAP migration consultant is required?.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Raj.

    Hi Laurence, Raj,
This question is very old and I had not seen it before.
To upgrade from CPS 6.0.2 or 7.0.4 to 8.0.0 (aka M33). I do not know if SAP consultancy offers anything for this, you want to check with them. SAP might refer you to Redwood, though.
As for the differences, where do I start ... ;-)
Actually, CPS 8 is a major platform shift. Version 6 and 7 were PL/SQL-based solutions, version 8 is Java-based. You have many more possibilities built-in, such as better XBP 3.0 support, web services, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP PI/XI control, ... the list could go on forever.
Some older platforms (very, very old) are no longer supported, afaik, but you get native z/OS (mainframe) platform agents, AS/400 agents ... the user interface is platform independent, so you can access it from any OS including, but not limited to, Windows, Unix, Linux, and Mac OS X. There is even an iPhone/iPad client.
BTW, I do not know how long version 6 and 7 are supported.
The platform shift means that you might have to use a PL/SQL API in version 8. I guess it depends on how much PL/SQL you use. If most of your jobs are SAP and OS jobs, you would not even need that.

  • BOE 3.1 SR3 on Solaris SPARC - how to for Int kit for SAP Solutions ?

    Hi,
this is my first BOE installation and I've just installed the BOE SR3 Enterprise Server on Solaris SPARC with SAP WAS 7.0 and Oracle 11.2.0.2 providing the CMS database location and the Java application server for the BOE applications.
The installation went ok and all BOE Server services are running. I've now got to install the XI 3.1 SR3 BOBJ Integration for SAP Solutions kit and have read the installation and administration guide for this.
The pre-requisites state that the SAP RFC & Java Connector needs to be put in place before deploying. Are these not part of the NW 7 WAS 7.0 Java Server anyway ?
If anyone has any pointers to more detailed instructions for doing Integration for SAP solutions kit other than the guide then please let me know.
    Regards,
    Brian.

    Hello Ingo,
many thanks for your reply, although I'm still confused. My Business Objects 3.1 Enterprise Server runs on the same host as a NW 7 WAS and has it's applications deployed and running on the NW 7 WAS Java instance .According to OSS 549268 you should not use the standalone SAP JCO connector if your applications are running on a SAP WAS - it has it's own integrated SAP Java Connector
"SAP JCo is available for two different environments: there is the standalone version and the version integrated in the SAP J2EE Engine. These two JCo variants have a compatible API but are implemented differently, so you may not mix them together within one environment.
SAP JCo 2.1 is the standalone version and can be used in all Java applications not running in an SAP J2EE Engine environment.
So it seems I don't need to use the standalone Java connector ?
    Regards,
    Brian.

  • EWA: error message in CRM check for SAP Solution Manager system

    Hello!
In EWA report for SAP Solution Manager system I have seen error message: Many CSA* inbound queues in error status were detected in your system. As a result of this BDocs have not been delivered. And then table
Queue Name                                Status     Date of first entry             Entries
    CSABUPA0000000070           READY     03.12.2007                          45

    CSA_ORDER_8000000001      READY     22.11.2007     3
    and others.
I looked transaction smq2. There are 11300 queues in it. Is it actual error or it is a normal situation? And that must I do, to remove an error?
Edited by: Mariya Kurbatova on Jul 2, 2009 6:27 AM

    Hi,
Usually problems with hanaging CSA* queues are caused because too many
indiviaual queues are created for the qRFC resources to handle. You can
limit the number of queues as described in note 763680.
Note 763680 would be useful if all of your qRFC resourcesa are in use
when you have a great number of queues. With a large number of dialog
WPs on the system it would probably make sense to reduce the amount
    as described in the note.
the casue when you have this problem would be to check SMQR -> GOTO ->
qRFC resources. You can also see if most of your dailog WPs are in use
    in SM50.
    Also refer to note 758677.
Please schedule report RSQIWKEX (Inbound) to run as described in the
    note.
And since your title has mentioned that the EWA is on your CRM satellite system; this maybe a further good reference too
When you replicate lots of data from CRM to R/3, there could be a qRFC
resource problem. In this case, the numebr of queues created can be
reduced by implementing the attached note 356228, particularly solution
    2.
    For CSA* queues is slightly different from the one decribed in note;
this is because the CSA queues exchange data within the CRM system.
The steps described should be followed, except that table SMOFQFIND
must be used instead of CRMQNAMES. In this table, fields TR_SNAEMS and
SEGM_FLD are equivalent to the CRMQNAMES fieds BAPISTRUCT and BAPIFLD
respectively. It should be possible to follow the solution 2 in the
note as long as you use SMOFQFIND instead of CRMQNAMES.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers,
    SH

  • Business Packages for SAP Learning Solution

    Hi All,
I need to upload the Business Package for SAP Learning Solution in EP 7.0
Can anyone give me a link to download the Business Package for SAP Learning Solution.?
    Regards,
    Eben.

    Hi Eben,
For EP 7.0, you would have to go for BP for Learning 1.0.
    From service market place :
    https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000001943&_EVENT=DISPHIER&HEADER=Y&FUNCTIONBAR=N&EVENT=TREE&V=MAINT&TA=ACTUAL&TMPL=01200615320200008111
But this BP apart there are a couple of other things that you would have to take into consideration like the add-ons on the backend (ECC) system.

  • SAP Solution for Mini steel plant with DRI Process

    Dear all,
I am a metallurgist who spent couple of years in steel and process Industry and then moved to IT Consulting as SAP consultant / business analyst mainly working in the area of solution designing.
Here i will like to describe SAP solution for Mini steel plant with DRI proces.
    u201CManufacture Productsu201D Description
The series of operations performed upon material to convert it from the raw material or a semifinished state to a state of further completion. This includes the establishment and maintenance of a CAPEX plan, the planning, scheduling and execution of production activities, the dispositioning of produced goods, the maintenance of production data, the monitoring of production performance and the implementation of engineering changes.
    u201CManufacture Productsu201D Objectives
    M-010
Compile 3-year CAPEX Budget     Establish the overall manufacturing goals and metrics that the organization will use to measure performance and progress towards objectives. These goals should be consistent with overall organizational strategy/value propositions. Develop long-term goals for production capabilities and manufacturing. These goals should align with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
    M-050
Perform Long Range Production Planning     u201CBudgetingu201D. Long range planning of production quantities based on planned available capacities and known or estimated customer demands. This process may include planning for different capacity and/or demand scenarios. Approved capital expenditures from the 3-year CAPEX budget may influence the budget. Range and frequency for budgeting is yearly.
    M-060
Perform Medium Range Production Planning     Medium range planning of production quantities based on planned available capacities and known or estimated customer demands. This process may include planning for different capacity and/or demand scenarios.  Range and frequency for planning is quarterly.
    M-070
Perform Short Range Production Planning     Short term planning of production quantities based on capacities and demands as previously planned in the longer terms, actual customer demand and actual capacities. The result from short range production planning will run into the operational plan for the current and following days.  Range and frequency for planning is monthly.
    M-080
Schedule Production     This sub-process enables detailed scheduling by resources over the planning horizon. Planned orders that fulfill demands (Stock Transfer Requisitions, Sales Forecasts and Customer Orders defined by due-dates and due-quantities) come from the short range plan. This results in a feasible schedule, optimizing utilization of the production resources. It is based on production process constraints as well as labor resources in order to minimize production costs and also taking into account constraining raw materials availability.
    M-090
Execute MRP     The purpose of this sub-process is to generate a Materials Requirements Plan (MRP) for all materials, which are produced or purchased. The MRP process involves looking at current material inventory, planned inbound material deliveries, requirements, lead times and stock levels to generate a detailed plan for future material requirements. The materials requirements will be generated with respect to the three planning horizons, short-term, medium-term, and long term. If an over stock of raw materials occurs as a result of a planning change production and marketing personnel will be informed. This would allow for the cancellations of any unneeded shipments.
    M-100
Perform Setup / Changeover     Perform set-up and changeover activities on production equipment as necessary, to prepare for the production of specific materials/grades. Set-up and changeover activities will enable the production equipment to perform operations on materials, as per the specifications called out on the production order. Ensure time is allocated for first off inspection requirements after changeover.
    M-110
Execute Production     Insure that the production plan is met by converting raw materials and component supplies into finished and semi-finished products. Batch/lot documentation will be created for individual production orders to provide traceability throughout the process. Each step of the production process is continuously monitored to identify mechanical, quality, and productivity issues and suggest solutions when problems arise. Data collection for performance and financial reporting enables management to take immediate action on manufacturing processes as well as conduct historical analysis.
    M-120
Perform Quality Management     Quality management refers to the entire supply chain process. Process activities are related to the evaluation and inspection of key characteristics of semi-finished and finished materials. These evaluations are recorded and acted on based on the results. Report/manage internal quality problems or issues. Install and manage quality control systems to insure product quality. For supplier or subcontractor based issues this data should be used as a performance measure during the vendor evaluation process.
    M-130
Manage Product Disposition     This process ensures those semi-finished and finished products that do not meet quality requirements, are prevented from being used and distributed in good finished product to customer, or released for the next step of the production process. A semi finished product is any material that needs to have another operation on line before being shipped to the customer. Finished goods are defined as any material that can be shipped to a customer; in house produced finished goods, subcontracted materials and trading goods. The information required to make decisions regarding disposition comes from the Quality Management system of each production facility. The first step ensures that raw material and returnable goods are dealt with in another subprocess. The reason for the goods not meeting quality standards is recorded along with the results of any investigation to find the cause of the fault. Information is sent to all other parties who need to know: order fulfillment, inventory management and shipping. The process ensures that the most appropriate action is taken to either dispose of, or rework the goods. Disposal or rework may be either through the original materials supplier or subcontractor, or Mittal Steel Point Lisas.
    M-140
Maintain Product Related Data     u201CMaterial Master Maintenanceu201D. The Sub-Process 'Maintain Product Related Data' is the list of activities that identify the steps and decision points related to the request for and performance of additions, changes, and deletions to the Material Master file or files. This sub-process begins when a need to create, change or delete a material is identified and ends when the request is either actioned or refused. The sub-process is intended to cover all material types, including finished goods, raw materials, bills of materials, equipment and service, POS, Sundry Items etc. In fact, any product which the company wishes to inventory or purchase. A number of key strategic decisions, including a clear definition of when we issue a new material, will affect this sub-process.
    M-150
Maintain Production Related Data     u201CMaster Data Maintenanceu201D. This subprocess identifies the activities related to requesting changes or additions to production related master data. Once a need for master data maintenance is identified, a request is submitted for approval. Data defining production capacities and performance standards (e.g. line efficiencies, material yields, etc.) require Corporate level approval prior to maintenance. Other data that is more specific to internal planning functions are maintained at the plant level. Maintenance requests are returned to the originator whether the request is approved or not to improve communication throughout the system. This subprocess may be triggered by: annual operations budgeting process process/production equipment upgrade or replacement change in facility work schedule (i.e. planned hours or days) change in personnel required to operate process/production equipment new products, formulations, or packaging.
    M-160
Operations Execution Reporting     Gather manufacturing information at various points in the production process. Prepare management reports both at the detailed level for plant management and summary level for senior operations management. Reports will be available on-demand and will include - volume, efficiencies (mechanical, line, and labor), yields, downtime, asset utilization, environmental, safety, quality, and financial data. A major goal of this sub-process is to define a consistent method of calculating operations metrics. Some plants will use line information systems and PCSs to collect information. Not all plants are equipped with these systems and the where they do exist, the level of sophistication varies.
    M-170
Manage Process Reliability     Optimize capacity by reducing process downtime and ensuring compliance to quality expectations by the reduction of rejects. Install tracking systems to measure line time utilization, quality results, process settings. Conduct root cause analysis, and use the data to develop and implement improved operating procedures.

Thank you for your prompt response. I'm assuming you are still proposing to use Sales order -> purchase order -> invoice verification -> Customer billing process flow. Is that correct?

  • Difference between SAP/APO/DP and the SAP/CRM solution for forecasting

    Hi,
Can you please help me identifying the main differences between SAP/APO/DP and the SAP/CRM solution for forecasting? Advantages and disadvantages?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi LCD777,
Forecasting at DP & CRM are altogether at different entities.  CRM involves webbased data transfer mechanism tool whereas DP is database/livecache driven tool.
In CRM, you dont get optimised solution of forecasting out of it whereas in DP you can get as much as
optimised solution & flexibility as per your requirements.
DP is majorly a forecasting tool where in huge statistical method functionalities are embedded in
whereas CRM is majorly a transactional tool wherein it involves gathering of forecast data and executing it.
Typically, CRM will be integrated with DP containing GATP environment & ECC so that DP will plan for forecast data, ECC system drives sales order data & GATP calls for availability check and finally
the forecast execution& transactions will be controlled by CRM
