  • Getting error while Archiving the IDOCS

    Hello,
i am using the archiving object IDOC.
I am getting an error "Infostructure SAP_IDOC_001 contains error. When running the production Mode.
I tried to run the same in Test mode there was no error.
The error is occurring in the delete program.
I tried to debug it and figured out that while selecting the Archive file to delete it is giving the error.
The IDOC has been written successfully to the archive file path.
Not able to figure out as to why it is giving error when running in Production Mode
    Thanks
    Nishant

if SAP gives an error "Infostructure SAP_IDOC_001 contains error", then I would focus on this.
Of course this error can only happen in production mode, as SAP will only then update the infostructure, it does not update infostructures in test mode.
use SARI, click customizing, enter Infostructure SAP_IDOC_001 and check if you can activate the info structure without errors.
check if OSS note 1358690 is of some help. Otherwise open a message at SAP directly.

  • Reg : Blocking and archiving of IDocs

    Hi All,
Could anyone please let me know when does the need arise to block an IDOC?
I heard it some where that for some type of errors we can not reprocess the idoc and so they will block that and resend it once more.
If anyone has worked on this type of issue, could you please give me some information?
And one more thing is regarding the Archiving of IDOCS : Could nay one please let me know the importance of IDOC ARCHIVING and it's use?
    Regards
    Abhilash.

    Hi,
Blocking Idocs most extensively is used in master data, where we block the errored IDocs, rectify the error and replicate once again. Transactional data IDocs can also be blocked as per the situation.
With archiving, IDocs are archived in various tables in the database in order that the size of the tables could be reduced without losing any IDocs. The transaction used for archiving is, SARA where the archiving object selected in this case is "IDOC".

  • How to archive the IDOC

    Hi
How to archive the IDOC to remove error form some report
    Thanks
    Manjunatha

    Hi
goto Transaction SARA , Archiving Object  - IDOC - IDoc - Intermediate Document
1 .Enter the archiving object IDOC and choose the required action, here  Write (= Archive).
A warning will be displayed if some of the archiving sessions for the archiving object IDoc are still incomplete. You can ignore the warning but you then run the risk of possibly archiving some IDocs twice.
    2. Define the  start date of the archiving session and the  spool parameters (print output).
The traffic lights should now be green, indicating that these parameters have been maintained. Please note that you can set the archiving mode for the print output to Store Only and therefore avoid printing every individual archiving log. Enter the object type IDOC as the attachment parameter and use the F4 Help to select a suitable document type for the object type. Also enter a free text as Additional information for the archiving report.
    4. Choose   Maintain to create a report variant. As selection parameters, enter the message type and a time period within which the IDocs received their last, current status.
5.You can specify whether you want to perform this variant as Test or Production, in the Process Flow segment of the selection parameter screen. If you choose Test, you get statistics of the processed IDocs. For a detailed log, select Detailed Log.
       6.         Choose  Continue and save your variant.
       7.      Return to the archiving screen and choose .
If you selected immediately in step 3, the message New archiving job was generated is displayed in the message bar at the bottom of the screen.
           8.      You can check whether your archiving session is complete by selecting Job overview. If you choose Administration, an overview of the completed and incomplete archiving runs is then displayed. If IDocs which match your selection parameters were found in the database tables, your archiving session is displayed as a folder full of archive files.

  • ABAP or variant for IDOC archiving?

If I want to create a batch job that archives certain IDoc status records based on a formula ie. (current date - 90 days or earlier) will I have to write ABAP to make the call to the archive program or is there a trick to create a variant and schedule this easily?

I am sorry, I left after my last response. What I told you will work for you. For the date-from you will select the variable "current date +/- days" and give -90 there. Also for the date from you will say <=(less than or equal to). So your range should have looked like
    Date Created    <=<u>06/03/2005</u>    to <u>blank</u>.
I forgot to put the <= sign in my previous post. I tried this and it worked for me. You don't have to manually enter any values here. All you have to do is save the variant with the selection variable and the sign <=.
Anyway, I see that you closed the post, so I assume you got the solution.

  • How to find the IDOC for the archived message in integration engine

    Hello experts
In my outbound scenario (Idoc to file), I have a message id got processed from integration engine (SXMB_MONI) but failed in adapter engine (RWB) on 1week back, The same message archive in SXMB_MONI but i found same message in adapter engine.
My question is how to find the archive message IDOC num
We can't find in adapter engine it will show only (sender service, receiver service and interface date and time as well and receiver structure in message content tab) but not idoc no,
Kindly provide the solution for the issue, Is there any alternative to find the idoc?
I can search with partner in sap side but i can get lot of idoc's

    Hi,
If solution given by experts in above replies doesn't work then you can try below method.
What you can do is, take some unique values from message content tab (which came in some specific segment from IDOC)
Now in R3 use tcode WE09 and set the dates when this was processed. Set other filter criteria as much as possible e.g. direction, idoc basic type, port, partner etc and at the bottom you can "Fast search mode" their you give the segment name and it's value.
This will help you get you IDOC.

  • Archiving idocs using RSEXARCB

    HI
I am using the program RSEXARCB to archive IDOCS.I want to know is there a way whether I can check if all the IDOCs have been archived or not? I don’t have the IDOC numbers. This program just archives the idocs which fall in a certain time period(say last 6 months). The IDOC numbers are not provided explicitly. What are the statuses for archived IDOCS?
    Please help. Its very urgent.

    Hello,
You can use table content display (SE16) of IDOC status table EDIDS based on creation date CREDAT.

  • Archiving IDOCs...

    Hi
As per my requirement, I need to archive unwanted IDOC in my system. Could you please put down the way for this?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Siva Kumar

sometimes i wish people would care to describe the whole process ...
first think what IDOCs you want to archive. you can customize this using tx. WE40 where you decide per status whether an IDOC is archivable or not.
second go to your basis guys and ask them how they want the thing set up. have a look at the technical settings section in transaction SARA, object IDOC to see what i mean. you basis guys have to configure logical/physical path and filenames using transaction FILE.
third check whether your company is using an external archiving system where archive files are to be stored (like IXOS, EASY, SAPERION ...). if so, you might want to store your archived IDOCs on the same system. you would have to set up the content management for your IDOCs using tx. OAM1 (and following) -> this is a bit difficult -> refer to help.sap.com on the details.

  • Cannot display archived idoc data records in SARA

    Hello,
In our ERP system, we regularly archive idocs older than 6 months. To view these archived idocs I use transaction SARA (with archive object IDOC and infostructure SAP_IDOC_001) to search for the relevant idoc that has been archived. Once the idoc is displayed, I drill down further by clicking the magnify glass button which then displays the idoc levels:
    EDIDC               Control record (IDoc)
    EDIDD               Data record (IDoc)
    EDIDS               Status Record (IDoc)
SRL_ARLNK      SREL: Archive Structure for Links
When I try to view the Data Records, I get a message saying "You are not authorized to display table EDIDD". According to our Authorizations department, this is not an Auth issue but rather config setup or program issue.
Why can't I view the archived idoc data records? Is there another way to view archived idoc data?
    Regards,
    Fawaaz

    Hi Jurgen,
Thanks for moving my post to the correct space.
Our Auth team is very confident that this is not a user auth issue. This could possibly be true because the idoc data resides on the following tables when in the database (before archive) - EDIDC, EDID4 & EDIDS. The idoc could then be viewed via transaction WE02 or the Data Browser (SE16). There is no EDIDD table in our ERP system so obviously no authorization object to assign to.
Once the idoc is archived, the data is removed from the ERP tables and moved to our archive database/server for storage. So when trying to view the archived record, the system does not access the ERP tables but rather the archive directory (that it's mapped to in settings). I assume the SARA transaction merely displays the data in the same segments/grouping with these table names (mentioned above in my first post) but instead of EDID4 it displays EDIDD.
According to the error longtext, "The check performed when data is read from the archive is the same as that of the Data Browser (transaction SE16)". So I was not involved with setting up our archiving procedure but could it be that table EDID4 was incorrectly mapped to table EDIDD in archives?

  • IDoc Deletion(Archiving)

    Hi Experts,
I am facing problem in deleting(archiving IDoc) which is erronious.
When the IDoc is posted with errors, I correct the data and reproces it,
then, data vl be posted into SAP corectly, but the error IDoc , which arriaved initialy, still exists in the system.
    How can I delete(Archive ) that IDoc.
I want to Delete (Archive) those erronious IDocs as bulk.
    How could I do this.
    Regards,
    Sujatha

There is a dirty way to delete idocs.
I have done this before but I suppose to do this only on a testing system.
Create a report to delete the idoc directly from the
tables EDIDC, EDIDS and EDID4 with the idocnumber
I did this after using of LSMW for migrationtests to get the system cleaned.
It worked very good but use with care.
    regards

  • Unable to get Field Names from Archived File

    Hi All,
We have a ECC 6 Ehp4 system. When i retrieve Idocs archived using SARA, the data only contains application data. There is no field names available - eg: posting date, tax code etc. Please find below the background on this issue.
I configured archiving of process idocs (status 52,12,03) from EDIDC tables. I set up the settings for Archive Object IDOC and archived the data for 15 days.
Both archiving and deletion of data from the table was successful.
I tried reading the Idoc data from Archive File using the Information System option -> Info structure (available as default for Idoc).
But the data retrieved only shows the Application data for all the segments of the IDoc. The fields for the segments like Tax Code, Posting Date etc are not available in the data. Functional teams will not be able to make sense with just the application data.
Am I missing some setting? Is there any way to retrieve the related field values also ?
    Please help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghavan

    Hi All,
There is tcode WE10. You could choose if the data source is archive and also the archive session. You will get the list of segments provided. click on the segment number and you will get the data.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghavan

  • Large table for IDoc

    Hello Guru:
Now the DB table EDID4 is very large ( more than 45 million records ) in our BW system, is there anyway to delete the content of the table but do not harm our BW logic?
The system will read some data from the table when we try to read the monitor.
    Thank you.
    Best regards,
    Eric

    Hi,
You can use SAP's archiving (txn SARA) to archive old IDOCs. These can alwasy be restored back into the system if required.
You can select the IDOCs for archiving based on dates to delete IDOCs which are quite old and are not likely to be used.
You can use an archiving job to automatically delete the idocs periodically (say idocs older than six months, the job running every week).
    cheers,
    Ajay

  • Pls send material for idocs in ECC 6.0

Pls send material for idocs in ECC6.0

    Hi sitaram s ,
    IDoc
    - IDoc (for intermediate document) is a standard data structure for electronic data interchange (EDI) between application programs written for the popular SAP business system or between an SAP application and an external program. IDocs serve as the vehicle for data transfer in SAP's Application Link Enabling (ALE) system. IDocs are used for asynchronous transactions: each IDoc generated exists as a self-contained text file that can then be transmitted to the requesting workstation without connecting to the central database. Another SAP mechanism, the Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) is used for synchronous transactions.
A large enterprise's networked computing environment is likely to connect many geographically distributed computers to the main database. These computers are likely to use different hardware and/or operating system platforms. An IDoc encapsulates data so that it can be exchanged between different systems without conversion from one format to another.
IDoc types define different categories of data, such as purchase orders or invoices, which may then be broken down into more specific categories called message types. Greater specificity means that an IDoc type is capable of storing only the data required for a particular transaction, which increases efficiency and decreases resource demands.
An IDoc can be generated at any point in a transaction process. For example, during a shipping transaction process, an IDoc may be generated that includes the data fields required to print a shipping manifest. After a user performs an SAP transaction, one or more IDocs are generated in the sending database and passed to the ALE communication layer. The communication layer performs a Remote Function Call (RFC), using the port definition and RFC destination specified by the customer model. The IDoc is transmitted to the receiver, which may be an R/3, R/2, or some external system.
    Archiving Processed IDocs
IDoc archiving is a two-step process:
    1. Archive the IDoc.
    2. After that another job will be generated. You can see in your SARA for your trigger to delete those archived IDocs.
Have a look at transaction WE47, set "Archiving - Possible" for all statuses to be archived. Use transaction SARA with object IDoc to archive. If the above is set then all IDocs are archived the same way.
Transaction SARA works in the following way:
On the main screen enter IDoc as the object. Click on Customising -> Technical settings. This shows the logical filename (configured via transaction FILE & SF01) that will be used to get a filename when writing the archive files. It also shows the document type (that links to an archive via transaction 0AC0) or the archive, depending on SAP version. You can also set the size of the archive files and whether the deletion and storage jobs should execute automatically or not.
On the main screen there are, amongst others, buttons for ARCHIVE, DELETE and MANAGEMENT. When you click on ARCHIVE you will go to a screen where you can create variants, and set the parameters for the archiving job. The EXECUTE button will schedule this job. If the "start automatic" tic for the deletion program was not set in customising, you will need to go to the DELETE button on the main screen to schedule the deletion jobs, after the archive job has finished. This schedules a job per archive file. In MANAGEMENT you will be able to see the statuses of each archive run.
