ARD Timed Tasks Issue

After upgrading my ARD Admin software from 3.1 to 3.2, I noticed that none of the timed tasks I had scheduled to run were running at all. Upon checking each task, I noticed that the checkboxes next to "schedule for" in ALL of the tasks was unchecked. I rechecked them and reset the time for the tasks to run and quit ARD. Upon restarting ARD, I noticed that, once again, the checkboxes next to "schedule for" in all of the tasks was unchecked.
BTW, in the ARD main window, a clock icon will still show next to the task in the sidebar if the "Repeating every" checkbox is checked. This makes you think the timer still works, but upon opening the task's schedule, you will see the checkbox next to "Schedule for" is unchecked and the command will not execute.
I created a new task from scratch, scheduled it, and the result was the same - upon restart of ARD, the checkbox next to "schedule for" was unchecked.
I then created a new task, scheduled it and looked at com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist in Property List Editor. I saw that the time was there. I then restarted ARD and looked at com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist and saw that the time was now gone. The line that is being removed is:
startDate string Oct 21, 2007 1:22:00 PM
I then created a new task, scheduled it and quit ARD without reopening it. When I looked at com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist, the time was still there. I then opened ARD and looked at com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist and the time was gone.
So, to recap When ARD starts up, it removes the startDate line from ALL timed tasks.
It does not matter what date or time I set it for.
Ownership and Read/Write preferences on com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist are correct.
I have tried removing the com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist and starting from scratch, but no change.
I Tried removeing all ARD components (per kbase article 108021) and reinstalling ARD Admin 3.0 from scratch. No problems after installing 3.0, but the problem reappeared after installing 3.2 update.
I've reproduced this on 4 machines: A Mac Pro, A MacBook, A G4 tower and an iBook G4. I run a lot of timed tasks, so I am not particularly happy.

We're having the exact same problem with remote desktop in our labs. We have several mac labs that are scheduled to restart every evening, however after upgrading ARD to 3.2 it always forgets the scheduled time.
I've trashed all the prefs, re-added all the computers, etc. and nothing fixes the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Timed out issue in jsp page!

It is really amazing for me to see this issue in my application which I deployed in Oracle Application Server 10g r2.
I am using JDeveloper 10g to create jsp pages.
On one jsp page i am displaying 15 html tables for a report.
All tables have 1 query to get records from oracle 10g database.
Am opening one connection and than one by one running queries just before each table and rendering data through ResultSet
(which is scrollable).
If I test this page from JDeveloper, it is displaying fine.
But when I deploy this page in Oracle Application Server 10g,
and create a portlet and show this jsp page in portlet and open this page,
this page most of the time giving 'TIMED OUT', and a few times displaying report properly.
I tried PreparedStatement to run multiple queries for Oracle DB, but couldn't make it successfully.
BTW,
I checked my OAS log, it shows following error:

if this occurs only in combination with portlets then I would try the Oracle Portal forum for help or use customer support to help you analyzing the issue

We have a client in SAP 2005 PL 44.
I built the add-on for them using simple installer wizard ( I tried advanced set-up also).
When starting the add-on, I get the message 'Connection Timed Out'.
Add-on status is failed.
But the add-on is actually connected. i.e, The functionality associated with the add-on is working fine.
I had SAP 2007 before and un/reinstalled SAP 2005 in order to connect with this client.
I had built the same add-on in a similar way for the same client for lot many times in the past, but I never got this issue.
I tried the following:
1) Delete SM_OBS_DLL and un/reinstall DI API
2) un/reinstall B1DE
Always I'm getting this error.
Please let me know your inputs.

Daqmx timing source issue

I have attached zip containing 2 folders. Both are doing same functionality but one using software timed 50ms loop. the other one is hardware based timing source.
I run , quit & re-run the application. Both the applications works well. But the ISSUE folder containg application hardware timing sourced app, after quit, the EXE process keeps running in the background & needs to be stopped using Ctrl+Alt+Del invoking the task manager.
As many times I click on to run the app, it works ok only, but holding the EXE process in background.
Hope someone helps to resolve this. Im using LV2009 + PCI 6229.

Hi,
I found the solution to the problem: using the latest NI-DAQmx drivers v.8.0.
It was directly related to my M-series card (PXI 6221) not correctly working in my PXI chassis due to apparently bad drivers or a bug in version 7.5.

After doing a new install of BOE Server software, encountered a problem viewing long running reports on-demand. InfoView displayed: 'An error has occurred: Request timed out.' Couldn't find answers anywhere (not even on this site) that would help me resolve this issue. So, I decided to post the resolution.
The error from this post's subject line is displayed when viewing on-demand reports that run for longer than 90 seconds. If the report was scheduled, it wouldn't have a problem - only viewing on-demand. This issue transpires with the following setup: * M$ Windows 2003 Server * IIS v.6 * .NET 2.0.50727 * BO Enterprise Server XI R2 SP2 * M$ SQL Server 2005
The resolution is to find the 'machine.config' file for your current version of the .NET Framework (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework \v2.0.50727\CONFIG\machine.config). Edit the file and place the following into a new line within the 'system.web' section: <httpRuntime executionTimeout="3600"/>
The timeout is set in seconds.
Then, restart IIS using the command line.

If its a sql server table to table transfer You can use data flow task with OLEDB Source and destination. In the OLEDB destination use
table or view - fast load option as the data access mode.
Also if databases are in same server you can even use Execute SQL task with statement like
INSERT INTO DestTable
SELECT *
FROM SourceDB.dbo.SourceTable
which will be set based

Workflow Pattern FYI Task Issue

BPEL PM version 10.1.2.0.2.
I am trying to create a workflow using FYI Task pattern. I have only one action 'Acknowledge'. The task gets created and shows up in the worklist application under my group, but the status of the task is 'Withdrawn' and no action displays for that task. I want the task to be 'Assigned' to the group and let the process continue. The group user can then acknowledge the task whenever. I used the workflow wizard to create the task.
Why does the task show up as 'Withdrawn' with no action list? Has anybody encountered this issue before? Any help is appreciated!

I'm also seeing instances of tasks arriving on the worklist and then being immediately withdrawn (bpeladmin) ?

An unknown error occurred (5002) and Connection timed out issue(s)

Next issue that I have since upgrading to Ver 8 of iTunes:
When trying to make a purchase I get either one of two different problems/errors -- 1.) Following pop-up “Could not purchase song. An unknown error occurred (5002)” or 2.) I get a “connection timed out” pop-up stating there could be a problem with my internet/network connection.
As far as there being an issue with my modem or internet, well...there isn’t one that I can detect. I am able to do everything else in iTunes (download samples, surf the pages, etc.) so my connection seems ok generally speaking.
If someone could get in touch with that super-hip kid in the Mac commercials and tell him to fix all of these problems with iTunes ver 8 that would be great! Honestly, any other issues I have with Vista are typically easy to fix. iTunes is the one piece of software that seems to cause me the most issues and there is very little support from Apple. Seems sort of strange for a company who claims such stability in their products. What gives?
Sorry for the rant...just frustrated.

Ok, two seconds after making this post I think I fixed the problem (fingers crossed). I read on a quazi-related post that iTunes was now requiring security codes off credit cards for purchases. Personally I don't use a credit card but I went in to my account just to make sure. The 1st time I tried to access my account I got the 5002 error, the 2nd time I was able to access my account w/o any issue. I did not make any changes to my account at all (just browsed around a bit and made sure everything was ok). After exiting my account I was able to make a purchase. Hey, whatever...right? Of course on my next purchase it will probably throw up some new error. Anyway, try this if you have the same problem.

Database connection timed out issue

Thanks in advance for anyone that can provide some insight into this. I have a relatively simple BPEL process that is using a JDBC connection within Jdev (not using connection factories due to issues with security) that connects to an Oracle database and runs a sql statement. The first time I run the BPEL process it works fine, however if I run it again then I get the exception below. I was thinking that there was some configuration or flag that would tell the adapter to log into the database each time, but I've been unable to find it. The reason I think this is the core problem is that if I restart SOA Suite then it works, or if I undeploy the process and redeploy it works. I've tried to hang a catch all off the adapter, but with this exception it terminates the instance. I might be doing something wrong there as well so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks again.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I'm using the database adapter and issuing a direct SQL against it. The query takes no more than 5 seconds to return, when I run it in Toad it's about a second. All result sets come over all at once with maybe 75 records. The odd thing is that when I run this BPEL on a Windows desktop it works fine every time, but when I move it to Solaris it works the one time and then throws that exception.

500 Connection timed out issue

In my webdynpro JAVA application I am making a call to MDX query to get data from BW.
If the query returns the value before 60 sec, I am able to view the data.Else I am getting error message "500 Connection timed out"
In my application I have not set the any timeout in application property.So the application is taking the default timeout settings from the server.
When i checked with admin team, they give the timeout settings of server as below.Still I am facing the issue of tiemout.
Can anyone help to find the solution for this?

In BW system:
Run Transaction -> SMICM From Menu Bar GOTO->Services-> Select HTTP Service-> Now select SERVICE from menu bar->Change option-> Change Max. Processing Time to your convienient.

1. Default Timeout: This is the most used and the most common parameter used for portal component timeout. It is set at portal - System Administration –> System Configuration –> Service Configuration –> Default configuration.
Parameter is Default.component.timeout
2. Portal Page Timeout: This parameter portal page timeout. This is applicable to browser page not to portal page object. In simpler terms, this parameters is not applicable to PCD objects like iView, workset or a page.
This is set from portal system admnistration and the parameter is: Com.sap.portal.page.PageTimeout
3. WebDynpro Component Timeout: This parameter controls expiry time of a webdynpro component. This parameter would override all other parameters and is configured in Visual Administrator You can locate the following parameter and configure appropriate time.
Parameter is: Tc~wd~dispwda – DefaultExpirationTime
4. WebDynpro Application timeout: This parameter controls timeout of a webdynpro application inside a component. When you want to have a different timeout for application, you can use this parameter. This parameter also overrides timeout parameters set in Service Configuration.
The parameter is: ExpirationTime

Execute Process Task Issue

Here is the scenario:
I am running two script logics from an SSIS package in the application called Reporting. Now I need to add a third task that runs script logic from another application called CostAnalysis. I have already tried using logic task, it wont work. now I am trying to do it through execute package task. In the execute package task, I added a File connection that points to the exact location where the 2nd dtsx file(in other application called costanalysis) is located, and referenced that connection in Execute package task.
Here is Issue:
Before I added this 3rd task, the package named pushtocostanalysis was running just fine. After adding the 3rd step(execute package task), the package just stops running after 2 seconds and doesnt even create a log file! How could this be?

Hello, here is what I added to the modify script for the first approach (3rd task as script logic task) - Destreassign.lgf is the script logic in Costanalysis app. this package is being run from Reporting App. But this doesnt seem to work. Please advise what changes I need to make. thanks.

Bapi Task issue

Hi Gurus,
I'm using BAPI BAPI_PO_CHANGE for chnaging PO Prices with in a Pricing Routine related to Sales Order processing...
But the Po is not getting changed until it is been declared as shown below (in background Mode).

How to migrate ARD 3 Tasks from PPC to Intel platform?

I have been trying to move my ARD install from an old PPC 10.4 Server to a new VMWare ESX hosted Intel 10.5 Server.
I've seen http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080403105655929 which tells exactly how to do this and I have done this before from a PPC Server 10.4 to a PPC 10.4 Server.
Now however when I try to do this none of my tasks appear in the new Intel 10.5 setup. I have seen notes that trying to move /Library/Preferences/com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist from a PPC install of ARD3 to an Intel install of ARD3 will not work and I will have to rebuild the tasks.
Could someone please verify if I have to rebuild all my tasks (a stupid thing to have to do mind you)or if there is a way to migrate my ARD3 install.

The tasks are stored in ~/Library/Preferences/Remote Desktop. Make sure that folder was copied correctly.

Still having fan issues and kernel task issues

   Hi there, I got a iMac Late 2013 model, 8 GB RAM, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, Running Mac OS X 10.10.1. I have had issues in the past with this the Fan running for no reason on this computer. I read numerous articles about this on the web and most said to do a SMC reset and also that certain cables (USB) may cause this. I recently did and SMC, repaired permissions, ran daily/weekly/monthly scripts. Yesterday computer was fine, this morning the fan is going full blast and in activity monitor it says Kernel_task 300+% CPU, CPU time 22:32:14:55. Anyone have any thoughts on this as to why this continues or what I am missing here. Really gets annoying to shut down, SMC restart then good for a day or so. Thanks in advance

GP UWL Task Issue

HI,
I have a custom Web Dynpro Application and we using the GP process for workflow.The Process is working fine.After Initiator initiate the GP Process the Approver gets the tasks in his UWL.Once the Approver gets the tasks in UWL the Log Error occurs in NWA.The Error is : USER_AUTH_FAILED: User account for logonid "odhwani" not found!
com.sap.security.api.NoSuchUserException: USER_AUTH_FAILED: User account for logonid "XXXX" not found!.If the task is completed from the UWL the error not occurs in NWA.Please Suggests any solution for this problem.If any one come across this problem please let me know.
