ARD Unix cmd to add application to docks on lab iMacs not working

Hello,
I've been trying to add an application to the dock of 23 iMacs in a computer lab using Apple Remote Desktop. The ARD 3.1 Admin Guide (p. 133-34) provides a Unix command for doing this, but I haven't had any success.
After sending the command, there is a green check next to the item in the task history and text indicating the command was successfully sent. It all seems to go swimmingly except that the application I tried to add to the dock fails to appear.
Here's the command provided in the ARD Admin guide with the addition of the path to the application I want to add to the dock (i.e., /Applications/Google Earth.app):
defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add '<dict><key>tile-
data</key><dict><key>file-data</key>
<dict><key>_CFURLString</key><string>/Applications/Google Earth.app

I'm not an experienced Unix user and may be making some fundamental errors. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The connect windows is coming and listing out all the applications. I am also able do the member selection.
Can you please give more inputs as where to fix the ARBORPATH,ESSBASEPATH ? Is it on the server side or in the spreadsheet add-in. Can you guide me how to check that ?

Dock dissapear, Exposse, Spaces not work

Dock is dissapear, Exposse and Spaces not work, i had repaired permissions from disk utillity but all is de the same, restart and all is not working, command + tab either work, and if a try to minimizar a window nothings happend

I am experiencing this same problem. I have been fine for a few weeks after my Leopard update, but then all of a sudden today I could not find my dock. I wasn't able to get it back at all, so I tried to shut down. It would not shut down so I had to do a hard shut down by holding in the power button. When it rebooted, the dock was still non-existent. I did some googling and learned it might be a corrupt preference. I then deleted the preferences, and immediately a dock (the original default installed) came up. It seemed ok for about 30 seconds, then it quit, and keeps flashing, reappearing, poking out. I deleted the preferences again, same result.
I ran disk utility. It found some permissions problems and "repaired" them. Now the activity monitor shows that my dock is starting and quitting, as stated above, and I can't see it at all. It's gone.
I am pretty upset about this, I rely on the dock heavily for my drag and drop applications in CS3.
Any solutions to this yet?

ADD FILES FOR UPLOAD - IMAGE PATHS DO NOT WORK IN WIDGETS

I'm trying to add my own images to a widget I bought from Qooqee - the Wrapper_v2 image slider. But when I try to add my own images with the image path it doesn't work. I've tried adding the image with 'Add Files for Upload' - and then using the full path which I get from right clicking on it in the assets panel - but it still doesn't work.
Most of the widgets require you to either specify the image path, or an external URL. I do not want to use a third party image hosting site to get URL's for every image I want to use on the site - so I just need to know what I'm doing wrong with the Add files for Upload - why do my file paths not work in the widgets?

Photoshop CC opens Application Manager, says "Sign in Required", not working. Help?

Photoshop CC today opens Adobe Application Manager, says "Sign in Required", but with correct info gives error message. Also, CC desktop not working. I haven't had any problem in the previous two months. I also was just build two weeks ago, and had to update my billing information. I tried online chat, after 30 minutes of typing, I've been disconnected twice. The funny thing is, Photoshop CC does open, and it works fine. However this message is irritating concerning. I'm on a Mac running the latest operating system and hardware.

http://www.adobe.com/appsmanager/index.html and then try signing in.

Application developed using JDK1.2.2 not working with JRE1.3

I am supporting and application developed using JDK1.2.2, it uses JDBC drivers from oracle(classes12.zip) to connect to an Oracle 8i database. This application is not working with JRE1.3. Can someone suggest any possible methods to make it work with JRE1.3?

well, Now the problem is partly solved. I was having problems in displaying a frame(derived from JInternalFrame), later I discovered that for JRE1.3, I have to explicitly set the setVisible option to true.
I have a few more frames to correct. I hope after that it wil be alright..

Oracle Application Server 10g R3 documentation link not working

The Oracle Application Server 10g R3 documentation link is not working:
From otn.oracle.com if you click on Documentation and then select Application Server it is supposed to take you to http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/appserver.html but the link is broken.
Can someone from OTN please look into this? I really need this documentation.

IPad 1 dock connector seems to not work

Hello everybody.
Yesterday, when I tried to recharge my iPad battery, I noticed that the device did not become aware of the fact it was connect to AC.
I used the original dock-to-usb cable connected to the original usb-to-plug adapter.
Ok, don't panic. I tried to connect my iPad to my PC. Same thing: the PC did not recognise the device and the device did not recognise the PC.
I tried turning the device into DFU mode: nothing.
Ok ok. In the meanwhile, the battery went to zero percent and the iPad turned off. I tried connecting the device to AC and, magically, the battery was charging! The device was in charging mode: black screen and red battery with the power sign below.
As soon as the device switched from charging mode to operative mode, the iPad stopped recognising the power.
I'm depressed. I think it's a software issue. I tried resetting my iPad using the proper function in the settings menu but it did not work.
I cannot restore it thru iTunes because the PC do not recognise the device.
What should I do?
PS: The device mounts the original latest firmware and it's out of warranty. My PC runs Windows 7 x64.

I suspect it's a software issue because the problem only happens when the device is in the "operative" mode.
The charging thing works fine when the device is in "charging-only" mode.
However I'll take the device to an Apple retail shop.
How does the assistance work? Do they take 250 bucks for any kind of issue?

Oracle Applications 11i Export to Excel does not work.

The export button does not work. When I click on export it says complete but does not bring up a window asking me to save. I have pop up blocker off and the site added to trusted sites. I have tried everything I have found so far but no luck. Help would be much appreciated.....thanks!!!!

Can you reproduce the issue from other browsers/machines?
Can you find any errors in the database log file?

Add photos to iphoto in mail will not work

As above the save/add photos to iphoto will not work in mail. I have all the software up to date and this is a feature i always use, until now?
Has anybody got any suggestions please?

This has been reported by other Users, and I notice it myself. It is apparently a bug with the latest update they sent out for ML. In the meantime I am right clicking on the photo in email, selecting Save to Desktop, and from there dragging the photo into iPhoto successfully. A slow workaround, but hopefully we won't have to do this for too long before a bug fix.

How can I access applications if the wireless mouse does NOT work?

I have a new iMac (Snow Leopard) which comes with a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. Just in case that the wireless mouse does not work, how can I navigate through applications and the screen?

Great, it works.
Let me replicate:
Shift-Command-A (on the Desktop, (but how to get there?) to open Apps, e.g System Preferences;
Arrow keys to navigate within Apps;
Command-down arrow to open a specific app;
Arrows to move around, e.g. to Magic Mouse
Space to open Magic Mouse;
Tab to move between options and arrows to change these; and Tab back to the back icon.

Applications on my MacBook Pro does not work

I read an article of how to rename multiple files at once time using the automator. The point was to rename several files i had placed in one folder. However, when i run the program, it seems like my programming skills is not so good... the automator accidently renamed most of my files on my computer... The result is that most of my applications do not work (word, excel, powerpoint, final cut pro, app store etc.).
I did not activate time machine prior to making this error.
Do you have any suggestions about what to do to be able to reinstall these programs to my computer, especially since I cannot use the "App Store" application to download anything?

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Where do I report an application that is selling that does not work at all? "Translator with voice" for Ipad. I consider it shold have being filtered and not allowed to sell

I bought an application, the Translator with voice and does not work at all. I consider that is so pooly develop that is near a fraud. Where should I report it? Out of all imputs That I tried none was translated appropiate.

If it's not working as described then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and use the 'Report a Problem' link.
