Spreadsheet Add-in(11.1.2.2) is not working

Hi All,
I have essbase server (11.1.2.2) and have a cube. I was successfully query the cube using the smart view. But when I am trying access the same cube through the spreadsheet add-in , it is not working. Any reasons why ?

The connect windows is coming and listing out all the applications. I am also able do the member selection.
Can you please give more inputs as where to fix the ARBORPATH,ESSBASEPATH ? Is it on the server side or in the spreadsheet add-in. Can you guide me how to check that ?

ADD FILES FOR UPLOAD - IMAGE PATHS DO NOT WORK IN WIDGETS

I'm trying to add my own images to a widget I bought from Qooqee - the Wrapper_v2 image slider. But when I try to add my own images with the image path it doesn't work. I've tried adding the image with 'Add Files for Upload' - and then using the full path which I get from right clicking on it in the assets panel - but it still doesn't work.
Most of the widgets require you to either specify the image path, or an external URL. I do not want to use a third party image hosting site to get URL's for every image I want to use on the site - so I just need to know what I'm doing wrong with the Add files for Upload - why do my file paths not work in the widgets?

Add photos to iphoto in mail will not work

As above the save/add photos to iphoto will not work in mail. I have all the software up to date and this is a feature i always use, until now?

This has been reported by other Users, and I notice it myself. It is apparently a bug with the latest update they sent out for ML. In the meantime I am right clicking on the photo in email, selecting Save to Desktop, and from there dragging the photo into iPhoto successfully. A slow workaround, but hopefully we won't have to do this for too long before a bug fix.

There is no need to install the Torbutton extension in case of problems with lost bookmarks.
You can skip that step if it doesn't apply (you do not have Torbutton in the first place).
You can uninstall that extension via Tools > Add-ons > Extensions

How to add html? The HTML snippet does not work. Whatever I add, (a "like button, SEO key words, etc.), does not appear on the site once published.

I am trying to add html to my website created in iWeb, (a "like" button, for example). I paste the HTML language into the HTML Snippet window, but it does not show up ion my published page. Any advice?

I have put code into two html snippets, (per facebook instructions). Should they go together?

BC Add-on for Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 not working - JS errors?

I upgraded Dreamweaver yesterday to the new CC 2014.1 version, and it seems it's not compatible with the BC add-on (which I removed and reinstalled). It it gives a js error "BCModulePanel" on reSize not defined - the panel loads but doesn't connect to BC so no modules can be inserted.
Anyone else having the same issue... on Macs? Has it been tested?

I've tested the DW 2014.1 with the BC add-on and all worked fine, on both Win7 and MAC OSX 10.9
You might experience some issue related to DW caching, so you could try this:
- uninstall DW and the BC add-on (https://creative.adobe.com/addons/my_addons )
- restart Adobe CC app.
- install DW and the add-on
- restart Adobe CC app., make sure the BC add-on has been installed
- restart DW
If you still experience issues after this, repeat the steps above but instead of installing the BC add-on from the CC website, you could try to manually install the BC add-on through Extension Manager app:

'Automatically Add to iTunes' in alternate media folder not working

iTunes 11.1.5.5
Fresh install today on a more-or-less fresh install of Windows 8
Procedure:
Install iTunes
Before creating a library, change my media folder in Preferences -> Advanced
Try to add media by putting it in the 'Automatically Add to iTunes' folder created in the new media folder
Restart iTunes repeatedly in frustration
What happens:
Nothing
What I expect to happen:
Something. Either importing the file, or moving it to the 'Not Added' folder.
Notes:
If I don't change the location of the media folder, the 'Automatically Add to iTunes' folder works fine.
The path to the alternate folder is E:\...music\ while iTunes is installed on C:\ - could this be a problem?
The automatically-created Automatically Add to iTunes folder is located at E:\...music\Automatically Add to iTunes

ARD Unix cmd to add application to docks on lab iMacs not working

I've been trying to add an application to the dock of 23 iMacs in a computer lab using Apple Remote Desktop. The ARD 3.1 Admin Guide (p. 133-34) provides a Unix command for doing this, but I haven't had any success.
After sending the command, there is a green check next to the item in the task history and text indicating the command was successfully sent. It all seems to go swimmingly except that the application I tried to add to the dock fails to appear.
Here's the command provided in the ARD Admin guide with the addition of the path to the application I want to add to the dock (i.e., /Applications/Google Earth.app):

Outlook Integration not working / add-on vs standalone

Hi,
We're on SBO 2007A SP01 PL07. In trying to roll out the O/I add-on, the built-in file did not work on workstations (Message: Cannot start Add-on) but does on the server.
The OI server install worked and in using the server as client workstation, OI the add-on works (don't get the above message).
Successfully installed the standalone file on workstations but then the snapshot templates aren't accessible... if they are, please advise how to do this.
Otherwise, any help in getting the basic add-on install file to work on the workstations, that would be great.

Solution: turned off the UAC on Vista workstations and the core add-on version (not standalone) kicked in.

Single row/column marquee tool "add to" not working

I was trying to follow along with a tutorial that was using the single row/column marquee tool. In it they used shift click to add to the selection. It's not working for me. I also tried clicking on the add to icon for the marquee tool, and it still doesn't work. Does anyone know what the problem could be and how I might fix it?

hey i know this is late but if its any help now all u need to do i zoom in a lil closer the proceed with the selection. hope i helped. oh and u have to make sure your grid lines are perfectly on the 10,20,30,... percent mark and u have to be zoomed in if u want to see your lines. the problem is your file is too big and has somn to do with ur computer. its not only mac windows too.
p.s. when ur done drawing the boxes u can zoom out...i know the tutorial

Saved Selections missing from Spreadsheet Add-in

Hi,
One of my end users is having a problem with the Oracle Spreadsheet Add-In that no-one else seems to be having and I'm at a loss for what to suggest to him.
Yesterday he encountered some network related problem which left it impossible for the Spreadsheet Add-in to connect to the AW on the database. Everybody else that uses OLAP cubes was still able to connect without problems. When he entered the username and password and pressed connect the system hangs for a few seconds and then returns to the spreadsheet without invoking the wizard. Our desktop services team looked at the problem and couldn't resolve it so have re-installed the Spreadsheet Add-In. This has resolved his connection problems and he is able to build his own queries using the cubes.
The problem that he is now finding is that the saved selection criteria that he had previously been using was no longer visible to him. I.e. when he is in the wizard building a query based on a cube, he selects, say, the time dimension, and rather than selecting from the members tab on the left-hand side of the screen, he moves to the Saved Selection tab. It is at this point that he would usually see a list of his previously saved selections - but he doesn't see any folders or selections.
When I reproduce his steps on my computer I see a folder called Users and then another folder with the schema name and then underneath that there are a number of saved selections. I can select these without any problems.
I'm not sure if this problem is related to permissions somewhere or if somehow the installation is incomplete.
Has anyone encountered this before??

The first step to resolving this issue is to check your Analytic Workspace is working. Within AWM can you right click on each dimension and select the option "View data" - make sure you can drill up and down on each dimension. Then repeat this process for each of your cubes. I suspect there is something wrong with either a dimension or cube. If you cannot see data within AWM then Excel will not with either.
If the data viewer in AWM is working OK, then Excel should work as well.

User name and password for Oracle BI Spreadsheet Add-in

Dear all,
I downloaded Oracle Database 10g Express Edition and I installed it successfully. I created a new account. Then I downloaded Oracle Business Intelligence Spreadsheet Add-in and I installed it successfully as well (both on my PC).
Now I would like to run Oracle Business Intelligence Spreadsheet Add-in but I don't know the way of running it. I click "New query". Then I go to the "Connection editor". There are four boxes.
"Description box" is clear. I write 127.0.0.1 or k219 (it's the name of my computer) into the "Host name box". As the "Port Number box" I use 1521. Then I write xe into the "SID box".
Then I return to the "OLAP connection tab". There are items: user name and password. I try to write user name and password created in Oracle Database 10g Express Edition. And the result is an error: Faild to connect to OLAP service

When u install Oracle 10g, it forces u to enter new passwords for System as well as scott user and it does not allow u to keep old know passwords as manager and tiger.
If u installed with new passwords successfully, u must be knowing those new passwords and there is no reason to try with system/manager. Instead try to connect with new passwords. We never faced such problems.
If the problems still persits, check that
a) Oracle service is running
b) Instance is running by and whether u are able to connect / as sysdba

I have the necessity of create automatically an excel file with a query to a multidimensional model (ROLAP Cube). It exists any API for a programation language that makes easy this process of creation?
How "OracleBI Spreadsheet Add-In" saves the metadata in the excel file, for example, the information about the database (host name, database name), dimensions and measures selected by the user when a query is made with the "Query Builder"?
It is possible to share any information about this subject?

I exported to xml an excel file with a query, that was produced by the âQuery Builderâ, and it is true that the metadata that contains the information about the database, dimensions and measures selected, is specified in xml and is stored in hidden sheets.
My problem is not to create an excel file (create sheets, write in the cells,...) because it exists some apis that do this kind of operations.
My difficulty, is to produce the xml metadata, that is defined by Oracle, and contains the information that is used by "OracleBI Spreadsheet Add-In" to put the data in the cells of an excel sheet.
What I want to know is, for example, if exists any kind of function that receives the name of the host, the name of the database, the owner of the cube, the cube name and all the options that we can choose in the âQuery Builderâ (measures and dimensions that we want, the disposition of the dimensions - layout), and return a String with the Oracleâs xml metadata.
With this xml metadata that is returned, I am prepared to create an excel file, that have the functionality of to connect to a database, and get the data that is stored in it.
