shut it off, remove the battery if it can be, unplug it from any powersource and don't turn it on again until you get it looked at by a technician at the Apple store or an AASP.

I spilled diet coke on the keyboard of my macbook. I do have AppleCare Protection. One, is this covered? If not, how do I clean the keyboard and ensure the computer is not wrecked.
Immediately disconnect all peripherals, power cord & remove the battery. Turn the computer over with the lid partly open and the hinge facing upward to let the liquid drain. Do not flop it over and lay it flat - you want to separate it from the moisture. Place paper or cloth towels under the machine to sop up the mess.
After the computer disgorges whatever you spilled on it, don't turn it on for 72 hours or longer. You want to computer to dry out completely before turning it on again.
Some users here swear by hairdryers. Blow drying the innards may bake whatever was in the liquid onto delicate computer components. Better to let the computer air dry.
Use plain tepid water to clean out the computer. If you spilled iced beverage more than likely this ice fried the hot motherboard.
Sugary, acidic or milky drinks will almost always cause problems later on as the residue starts slowly corroding the computer innards.
Swab down any sticky parts with distilled water or denatured alcohol.
If none of the above works, you will need to take the computer to a repair shop.

Liquid damage is not covered under Apple's standard 1 year warranty or Apple Care.
NOTE: If you are out of warranty and purchased the computer with a credit card, discuss the warranty issue with the credit card company which you purchased the computer with. They are the only ones who can at this point cover the computer after it goes out of warranty with the manufacturer (Apple).
If you have Homeowners insurance, place a claim with them. -
I've recently spilt a little bit of water on my Macbook Pro 13" and some of it went into the keyboard, the first thing I did was get paper towels and dry it off, everything is except now the speakers sound different, and a little bit lower in volume, basically the speakers just sound weird, there's no word to describe it, I can't really hear any bass from my speakers

The problem Apps may need to be updated. Or maybe your iTunes account needs to just update itself on your iPhone. To do this, install a free App from the App Store on your iPhone. Tap App Store app on iPhone, select and install a free App. When that is done try the problem Apps to see if they work OK again.

When I try to start my Garageband 6.05,I get a repetitive message that the core audio midi will not start. If I choose to ignore it, report it or reopen it, it just keeps coming up and garage will not load or start up? Any suggestions? THanks
I'm just guessing at this point, but I suspect that you have installed a midi driver on your computer for some external device, and, since GarageBand's midi capabilities are limited in some ways, chances are your audio/midi driver is asking GarageBand to do something more than it's made to do, causing core audio's midi function to crash.
If that's the case, you might want to try adjusting your midi device's driver settings, or uninstalling your midi device's driver, and then see if GarageBand starts up normally without it. -

Keep in mind that just because a device may not be upgradeable to the latest iOS release does not mean it cannot continue to work just fine on the last update it did get. There will be many devices that were incompatible with iOS 7 that will continuing to work just fine on iOS 6 for a long time yet. There are many people still using their iPad 1 despite the fact it stopped getting iOS updates after iOS 5.1.1.
One way to safeguard your apps against future incompatible versions is to keep a backup of all your apps in iTunes on your computer. That way, if an update to the app comes out that is not backwards compatible with your iOS, you still have a copy of the last version of the app that was compatible with your device and your iOS release. -
Just 4 days after having my i6 set up my screen orientation while viewing my pictures and videos has gone sideways or upside down , seems random. Anyone know of a fix?? Just discovered that it won't rotate as expected in other apps either.
Im having a similar issue with my iPhone 6 Plus on iOS 8. My issue is with the home screen and text screen being stuck and or freezing in place. The home screen will flip upside down and stay that way and with my messages if I rotate the phone in landscape view it sometimes stays stuck or freezes in that view. I have to turn my phone off and on to get it back to normal.
I also contacted apple support and they advised me to do a fresh restore which I did with iOS 8 but it still happened shortly after. Apple said that if the problem persists to bring it to an apple store for repair or replacement. Im thinking its a software issue because when I researched it on the internet it appears people with iPhone 5's and 5s's are experiencing the same or similar issues and orientation freezes. I just recently upgraded to iOS 8.0.2 and will monitor it and see if the issue was fixed. So fingers crossed that iOS 8.0.2 fixes it. -
Since updating to Mavericks, Mail doesn't work properly. It just stops working (no error messages--it just won't check for new mail) and I must shut it down and reopen it to get it working again. Any suggestions?
Try to force quit the mail app
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.
Failing that, go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars and remove your account info then put it back in and see if that works -

The speed of upload e download is good?The Creative Cloud file storage could be used for video assets but speed and performance might vary based on location. I would suggest you testing it out yourself using your Adobe ID before subscribing. Performance would not change after you joined.

I have one of the original iPads. Suddenly (from yesterday) when I receive an email only the headings are shown - the body of the text is blank. Also previously received emails have also had the text body removed. Any suggestions as to what caused this?
Try this.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
Have just down loaded iTUnes 10.5.2.(11) onto MacBook Pro and now the earphone port is not working. Any suggestions. Annie H
My System Preferences>Soundoutput screen does not have the "Use audio port for" field.
Does your MBP have two separate audio ports - one for line-in and one output port? Then you wan't see that selector.
but the port has started to work again....Reason???
Perhaps there was dirt or something in the jack and the contact was bad.
(or you accidentally put the plug into the line-in jack instead into the audio-out; that happened to me once ).

To expand on Rudegar's comment, often, updating a jailbroken or hacked phone will permanently brick the phone.
If your phone was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it, it is now most likely completely useless. -
My mac mini only shows a steady power light and fan noise when powered up. No video or sound and no commumication with wired keyboard or optical mouse. Tried replacing internal battery and resetting PMU/SMC but nothing seemed to happen. Any suggestions? Many thanks! Richard
You've already done the two things I would have suggested.
If your Mini has an internal battery then I assume it's a G4. That means you've gotten a lot of good years of service from it, and it's old enough that it's certainly not covered by AppleCare anymore, and it's probably not worth spending money trying to repair it.
You should be able to tear it apart using instructions from ifixit.com to get the hard drive out, and then put the hard drive into a nice USB or FireWire enclosure (I like the ones from Other World Computing, macsales.com) so you can transfer your data to a replacement Mac.
