Are object and/or column comments available via Import Data Dictionary?

Running DM 3.1.2.704 w/JRE 1.6.0_27, on windows 7, I cannot see certain metadata (e.g., view or column comments) imported via data dictionary, is this just not supported or is there an option I'm missing? (seems that import via DDL will pickup comments?)

1) by value
2) by reference.
While invoking local methods, java passes primitive types by value and objects by reference.
However while invoking remote methods both these data types are passed by value. Except for the objects being exported. Reason being two different JVM's are involved and thus memory addresses references of one are meaningles for the other. However "pass by value" for values of type object are implemented as deep copy.

I have just started working on the NI labview...i had a problem that when i changed the bitrate using CAN interface create-->CAN SDO create-->CAN write.after that i am not able to communicate with the device with the new bitrate....i have seen a few similiar forums, which talks about object and port handles as an solution of the problems..

I used the NI CAN monitor in MAX to monitor the CAN bus,there is no second frame shown in the monitor,See attach pictures.but It shown in the Vector CAN monitor and the code call the Vector DLL.

Dba tables and views columns comments

does anybody know of some script that would generate comments on all of oracle's dictionnary tables and dynamic views (most probably unrealizable) columns? i wonder why they're not created by default when you create the database.

I had to create a new profile in Firefox and now, I can't access important data such as bookmarks which I desperately need.

After two days of not being able to open Firefox, I found an article on this website which suggested that I create a new profile. I followed the instructions (which never stated that I should first backup Firefox or my old profile) After creating the new profile, Firefox is once again working fine but, I am unable to access important data such as bookmarks and history.
I have followed several suggestion on this website but, I am still unable to find my old profile content.

As long as you did not uninstall Firefox and remove personal data, your old profile still should be in the same location. Depending on how messed up it was, here are two options:
'''(1) Use the profile manager to start Firefox up in your old profile and create a fresh bookmarks backup.''' If it didn't run, this won't be useful.
To start in a different profile, Exit out of Firefox and start it up from the Start menu, search box, using
firefox.exe -P
Your old profile may have a name like default.
Then you can create a fresh backup or export of your bookmarks (or both) to a neutral location (e.g., the Documents folder). These articles have the steps for creating these files:
* [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
* [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]] (note: does not preserve tags you have assigned to bookmarks, if any)

Edit Objectives and other columns using PHAP_ADMIN : SAP Appraisals

Here is a common scenario that we are having problems setting up. We are on SAP 4.7 - ext 1.1. We have annual MBO ratings where the employee's objectives are rated by the manager. The employees create their objectives in the system using T.code PHAP_CATALOG. We have created OSA templates where in the Objectives can be only changed by appraiser and manager can only display. This is configured in the template using column access. (For example in planning stage the column access for objective setting is set to: Column Owner - Appraisee, Planning Owner- Change, Planning Others - Display.)
However, we would like the HR Administrator to be able to edit the objectives in planning status and subsequently other columns in the appraisal document. However in transaction PHAP_ADMIN the objectives are grayed out and the HR administrator cannot change the objectives of employs are edit anything in the document. This is probably because the column access is set to display for others. The role given is an exact copy of standard SAP delivered role for appraisal administrator. We have included P_Origin authorization object also.
I understand PHAP_ADMIN should over rule and enable changes by the administrator.
How do we manage this requirement?

This is the outcome of my research on this issue. Granting full access to administrator users is not the default behavior in PHAP_ADMIN for 620. It was introduced to 640 and unfortunately cannot be down ported.
However, We could give full access to the administrator using BAdI 'HRHAP00_COL_ACCESS' and this had the same effect. The necessary coding for method 'GET_COLUMN_ACCESS' looked like this:
| * If the transaction is PHAP_ADMIN allow full access
| IF sy-tcode CP 'PHAP_ADMIN*'.
| column_owner = 'X'.
| availability = 'X'.
| ENDIF.

Pull owner from computer object and add to BUILTIN\Administrators via GPO

Quick question here - is it possible to pull an owner from computer object in AD (left side of picture) and add him to BUILTIN\Administrators on this particular workstation along with 2 AD groups and 'LocalAdmin' user (right side of picture)? Im interested

You mean "manager" and not "owner", right? The owner is defined in
"security - advanced - owner" and is the account that initially created
the object. Typically "Domain Admins"...

Nothing as easy as that. You can use GPP local users and groups, and you
can use Item Level Targeting with LDAP filters. Grab the managedBy
attribute of the computer account, grab the samaccountname of the
managedBy DN and you're almost done :)

Make sure you download the file and follow the instructions listed below
Launch workshop
Help>Software Updates>Find and Install...
Select "Search for new features to install" and hit Next
Click on the New Archived Site button
Wait for the "Select Local Site Archive" dialog to appear
Enter, or browse to, the location of the archive file (it can be referenced using either http:// or file path syntax depending on where it was placed by the user or their sys admin) and hit Open
Hit Finish
Select BEA Workshop for WebLogic Platform 9.2.1.0 and hit Next
Select "I accept the terms in the license agreement" and hit Next
Hit Finish
Wait for the Feature Verification dialog to appear
Hit Install All
Hit Yes when prompted to restart the workbench

I'm trying to create a user using XML and specifying some attributes that are objects and not sure how to do it. How would I set the DirectoryUserAcl to Public?
Here's the xml file:

PowerDesigner 16.5 SP02 HTML Report Display Column Comments

Hi All,
I am using PowerDesigner 16.5 SP02 and am trying to view the column comments in an HTML Report. I know that you can enable Table comments and such in the report wizard but I can't find anything on columns. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. RMB = Right Mouse Button? That's a new one for me.
I wasn't able to find "Table – List of Table Columns" but I expanded "Table" in "report layout" and then selected "column" and sequentially, "comments".
In the HTML report I am able to click a diagram and the column comments are shown in a list.
Is there anyway to have the column comments display within the diagram? This is wishful thinking rather.

I tried so search the comments using the database dictionaries like
dba_col_comments but it has no value? Is there another table where this column comment docs are saved? I need to print around 88 tables and their column comments for documentation, and the using the ETRM is quite tidious.

We are using SAP R/3 4.6C with kernel 4.6D patch 2225.
DB is ORACLE release 9.2.0.6.0 and OS is HP-UX B.11.00
The package levels are as follows.

SAP_ABA   SAPKA46C46
SAP_APPL SAPKH46C46
Now we are thinking of making our system available via ITS.
We have a seperate ITS instance :
     Windows 2003 Server
     IIS 6.0
     Java (JRE 1.5)
     SAP ITS 6.20 Patch level 20
Could you please let me know some relevant notes/links or some useful documents to check whether our SAP system meets the requirements for ITS?
Basically I am looking for the minimum requirements in SAP R/3 side before going for ITS 620

Yes, ITS 6.20 is the most current release -and I am almost sure that this release will be at least one of the last releases of standalone-ITS.
Plug-In should fit to your portal on the one hand and your backend on the other hand. The plug-in you mentioned here sounds good ...

Problem while uploading 10,000 items via import workbench in PROD

Hi All,
we are using advance product catalog R12.1.3 (PIM). When we are trying to upload 10,000 items via import workbench , We are facing an error not even one record imported .please see the below log file. Please help us regarding this issue .
The situation is as follows.
1)     About 10 000 uploaded to PROD env.
2)     About 10 000 uploaded to PROD env.
3)     About 10 000 uploaded to PROD env.
4)     Import of all batches started and all ended with warnings (see below)
5)     All data (30 000 SI) was lost (not in imported and not in excluded)
6)     1 SI was upload and imported ok
7)     All upload batches fail with message (in excels message column) when the upload check is run: “Cannot execute SQL Statement.”
I’m trying to upload the same data that was upload successfully once, but now fails. (even the one row that went in).
PROD has been booted as well as my computer

Capture DB Table and column comments when creating new Business Area/Folder

Does anyone know if it is possible to pull the DB table and column comments into Discoverer when creating new Business Area/Folders? Our developers take the time to put the information in the Db data dictionary and we would like to leverage it (reduce need for manually adding descriptions) ... has anyone done this?
If there isn't a way to automatically do it, would there be any harm in using a sql script to populate the description fields from the DB data dictionary directly into the EUL tables appropriate?
I have been searching through documentation and forums for information - with no luck at this point.

You can add column comments to views as well, as this example will show:

(SEQ_ID, SEQ_NAME, SEQ_NEXTVAL)

SELECT "SEQ_ID","SEQ_NAME","SEQ_NEXTVAL" FROM EUL5_SEQUENCES;
COMMENT ON COLUMN MY_SEQUENCE.SEQ_NAME IS 'The sequence';
So you could add the comments at the view level and then refresh Discoverer.

DNS question and no name available via DNS and no reverse DNS errors

We are running an OS X server, 10.4.11, OD Master. We are getting some error messages, and we have setup DNS to forward requests for example.com. (our website) to our web developer's external web server where our website is being hosted.

Some Background:
We are running internal DNS services only. We have a domain, example.com. and our OS X Server, server.example.com. We have a website that is being hosted offsite by our web developer. Long ago when they were setting up the SSL certificate for the site, they obtained a certificate for example.com INSTEAD of www.example.com. So, our web developer setup a redirect to redirect web requests to www.example.com to example.com.
Now, this brings us to our OS X server (server.example.com). We are hosting internal DNS with the same domain, example.com. When employees inside our LAN would put in our web address, example.com, or www.example.com, it would take them to our OS X server. As a workaround, in the DNS settings for the zone in server Admin, I set the Server IP address for the zone to "Other" and specified the external address to the server where the site is hosted by our developer then setup an A record for our server. (We cannot forward requests to www.example.com since our web developer automatically redirects these requests to example.com since that is where the SSL certificate and the search engines are linked to).
Well obviously this had serious repercussions for server stability. So, I set the server IP address back to the address of our OS X server itself, 192.168.0.5.
Now, I then went into command line and manually edited the zone files. Here's part of our zone file:

Secondly, is there anything I can do in DNS or elsewhere on the server to redirect web requests to example.com to our web developer's offsite server since the developer's server redirects www.example.com to example.com?

Problem was resolved.
All I ended up doing was edition my reverse lookup file, db.192.168.0. It was correct, and I simply re-saved it without making any changes. Strangely enough, that did it. No idea why. Maybe a permissions issue with the file?
I'm still running the server with address record for the domain (example.com.) mapped to our external web server. no problems.
