Are photos sent in a Direct Connection logged anywhere in the computer?

I closed the instant message before i was able to save the photo. Are these logged anywhere - i realize this is different from sending a file, but shouldn't there be a cache of the photo somewhere?

As Niel says any Saved Chat in ~/Documents/iChats will show any Pictures that were sent with it.
However to "Save" it to work on it it has to be dragged to the Desktop whilst the chat is Live (or at least the Window not closed).
It is more difficult to get usable pic from the saved Chat even though resizing the chat window will continue to resize the Pic (as much as your Screen allows in some cases). (Sometimes Dragging it to the desktop works other times it does not).

It looks like the card may be the problem, and your best bet is to try the Card Reader - this will make the card accessible by the Finder and you may be able to drag the pics off to the desktop or, at worst, try recover the pics with an app like MediaRecover

are you using icloud? if so try to log in on your phonre using your apple id not your husbands.

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. It the problem persists make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If the new library does'nt have that problem then your original library is damaged. Post back if that's the case and we'll go from there.

Was the ENTIRE iTunes folder copied from the computer to the External drive? If so, simply copy it back and everything in iTunes will be exactly as it was in iTunes.

Yes you can. In iPhoto create a Album with the photos you want in it. You can drag them from your Events folder. In iTunes with your iPad connected go to Photos by cliking on your iPad. You can then select the album or events you want.

I never used icloud before so there is no data to back up from. I just spoke to the apple store and they said that if I do plug it in, all the data will be swiped....is there a program I can use to transfer my data from my phone to computer without loosing it all ???

I recently got an ipod touch that was reset before being given to me. It wouldn't connect to iTunes or the computer but would still charge in the USB port. I updated iTunes and tried doing a soft reset holding down home and sleep. Then I realized on the screen that says "connect to iTunes", on the top right it would say "iPod" and in the middle it would show a little lock symbol. I was told this ment it was disabled and that's why it wouldn't work. But how would I restore it or reset it if I cannot get passed the connect to itunes screen and it wont connect to the computer. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
