AS 3.0 and Components

So I read the FlashBrighton Flash CS3 tutorial on how to make
components using Actionscript 3.0. It worked insofar as I learned
how to make the component and bring it into Flash. Let me correct
that: I follow his steps to do it, not that I entirely understand
it. I can now get CS3 to load my component but I still don't
understand the why as to why it works that way with the linkage and
stuff. More importantly though, I don't understand how to make AS
3.0 work within my component to interact with the user using the
component within the Flash IDE.
Does anyone know of a more extensive tutorial? Or can anyone
give me a rough outline of how you interact between AS 3.0 code in
your component and how to code it to do stuff in the IDE?
I'm going to need to make my own custom components but not
sure where to look for help...except to wait for Moock's OReilly
book on June 15 :)
Thanks so much! These forums have the best AS people
around!

They are.
flash.display.MovieClip
flash.display.Sprite
The top level contains the core ActionScript classes and
global functions - MovieClip and Sprite are not Top Level, they are
Display Objects. "Array" is a Top Level classs as it allows you to
work with the array data type, which is part of the core of
Flash.

  • Is it possible to download a PDF of "ActionScript 3.0 Language and Components Reference"?

    I have found the "ActionScript 3.0 Language and Components Reference" online fine but my Internet is sometimes slow and I would like to take the reference with me even when I am not connected to the Internet. Is there a way to download a PDF version of this reference and if so, how? Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

    The second item in the listing, ActionScript 3.0 Reference for the Adobe Flash Platform (ZIP, 66 MB) is a standalone copy of the files that you are looking for.

  • Server Behavior, Bindings and Components Panels [subject edited by moderator]

    How do I get Server Behavior, Bindings and Components Panels and Database feature this is the most retarded program ever! I installed the extension manager, then it wanted the panel installed, which won't installed because of photoshop version. How in the hell do I get Server Behavior, Bindings and Components Panels and Database feature!!!

    The Deprecated Server Behaviors were removed for good reason.  The code is woefully outdated and the old MySql connections won't work on servers with PHP 5.5 or higher.
    Which operating system?
    Which version of PS?
    Which version of DW?
    Which version of Extension Manager?
    Replace Deprecated Server Behaviors with a modern commercial extension -- MySQLi (improved) or PDO:

  • To check the stock of the header and components in same screen?

    Hi ,
    Is there is any option available in SAP to check the header and its components exising stock in same screen like in multilevel bom we can see BOM and components same way we need one more column which shows the avialble stock.
    Thanks
    KK

    Dear Madhu,
    My question is we need to check the stock for one material and it's components to manufacture it in one screen for this is there any option available in standard SAP,where as you have suggested MB52 which gives me the plant stock for all materials.
    Thanks

  • Nature of relations between Containers and Components in AWT

    I don't know if this entitles me for Duke Dollars but I just wanted to contribute something anyway. Please let me know if it does. Here it's:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.applet.Applet;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    Name: Negib Mohamed
    Purpose: to show the relationship between Containers and Components is 1:n
    Software: JDK Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_05-b04)
    Date: 30/04/2005
    The following program shows that the relationship between Container and Component classes is 1:n (one to many). A Component object can only be added to one and only one Container object whereas a Container object can contain as many Component/Container objects as needed. The button b1 (a Component object) shows, as shown when the program below is run, in only panel p1 or p2 (Container objects) depending on whether which one of the objects (panels) is instantiated last. It seems that the one instantiated last snatches the button object from the one instantiated first. When the button is clicked either of the following is output by the program, depending on which lines are uncommneted:
    java.awt.Button[button0,29,5,37x23,label=One]
    java.awt.Button[button0,28,5,37x23,label=Two]
    The same button (button0) with two different labels (One and Two) which are set in their respective containers (panels). Comment and uncomment the lines indicated below to see the result.
    After compilation just run it at the prompt as an application as in say:
    c:\javadir\java Relations
    public class Relations extends Applet implements ActionListener {
    Button b1;
    Panel p1, p2;
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    Frame fr = new RelationsFrame("Relations Frame");
    fr.setSize(200, 100);
    fr.show();
    public void start(){
    b1 = new Button();
    b1.addActionListener(this);
    // p2 = new PanelTwo(b1); //p2- instantiated first
    // p1 = new PanelOne(b1); //p1- instantiated last
    //uncommnet the two lines above and comment above the two below to see the result
    p1 = new PanelOne(b1); //p1- instantiated first
    p2 = new PanelTwo(b1); //p2- instantiated last
    setLayout(new BorderLayout());
    add(p1, "North");
    add(p2, "South");
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
    System.out.println(e.getSource());
    class RelationsFrame extends Frame {
    Applet applet;
    public RelationsFrame (String title) {
    super(title);
    applet = new Relations();
    applet.start();
    add(applet);
    addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() {
    public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e) {
    dispose();
    System.exit(0);
    class PanelOne extends Panel {
    Button b;
    PanelOne (Button b) {
    this.b = b;
    b.setLabel("One");
    add(b);
    add(new Label("I am panel one."));
    class PanelTwo extends Panel {
    Button b;
    PanelTwo(Button b) {
    this.b = b;
    b.setLabel("Two");
    add(b);
    add(new Label("I am panel Two."));
    This is a variation of the above program. It takes a commnad line argument as the choice of the panel to display the button in.
    public class Relations2 extends Applet implements ActionListener {
    Button b1;
    Panel p1, p2;
    int pNum;
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    String s = "2"; //default
    if (args.length != 0)
    s =args[0];
    Frame fr = new RelationsFrame("Relations Frame", s);
    fr.setSize(200, 100);
    fr.show();
    public Relations2 (String num) {
    try {
    pNum = Integer.parseInt(num);
    catch(NumberFormatException e) {
    System.out.println("Defaulted to panel two.");
    pNum = 2;
    public void start(){
    b1 = new Button();
    b1.addActionListener(this);
    if (pNum == 1) {
    p2 = new PanelTwo(b1); //p2- instantiated first
    p1 = new PanelOne(b1); //p1- instantiated last
    else {
    p1 = new PanelOne(b1); //p1- instantiated first
    p2 = new PanelTwo(b1); //p2- instantiated last
    setLayout(new BorderLayout());
    add(p1, "North");
    add(p2, "South");
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
    System.out.println(e.getSource());
    class RelationsFrame extends Frame {
    Applet applet;
    public RelationsFrame (String title, String num) {
    super(title);
    applet = new Relations2(num);
    applet.start();
    add(applet);
    addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() {
    public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e) {
    dispose();
    System.exit(0);
    }

    Thank you. I didn't include some of the statements to make the text short. Now that you mentioned I forgot the import statements, here is the complete code including the two panels I left out in my previouse posting. Cheers:

    Hi Gurus,
    Can authorization be given to Work centers, logical links and components.
    Thanks,

    It can be done using Authorization object UIU_COMP. it has 3 fields :
    Component Name
    Component Window Name
    Inbound Plug
    Note : You can maintain authorizations based on components, WC pages, Direct links groups and direct links but not on views.
    Authorization object for direct links : C_LL_TGT which has 2 field : Logical Link Type and Link Parameter

  • Deployment utility drivers and components, some missing?

    I have Testand 3.5 and LabWindows/CVI 8.5 installed on my machine.  I would like to modify an existing TestStand deployment to include the LabWindows/CVI 8.5 Run-Time Engine, so that the installed program can run as an executable on the target system(s) without requiring a full install of LW/CVI.  When I click on "Installer Options" and then "Drivers and Components" I see that the LW/CVI 8.1 RTE is available, but not 8.5.  I've never had 8.1 on my machine.  I have 7.1 and 8.5 installed.  (See attached screenshot.)  I assumed that the 8.5 RTE would be installed along with LW/CVI 8.5, but is this not the case?

    Hi Joel,
    This is most definitely a bug with the NI Build Installer. The bug has been reported under ID 100489.
    Rest assured however that although the Drivers and Components list shows CVI 8.1 RTE, it will actually bundle the CVI 8.5 RTE with the deployed system. This is true since the Build Installer captures the CVI Run-time from: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\ProductCache, which contains the latest CVI RTE.
    Thanks for the info Joel.

  • Urgent: About Comps.xml - Patchset, Patches and Components details.

    Hi,
    In Comps.xml [in Oracle_Home\Inventory\ContentsXML folder] we have information about Patchsets, Patches and Components. According to my information
    I. TL_List: It has a list of all the patchset installed.
    But when I looked in Comps.xml TL_List, I found that it contain two nodes
    II. one is COMP_NAME and second is PATCHSET NAME.
    Can any one tell me which information is correct First one or second one?
    null

    I don't recall having seen a comps.xml in 8i installations (may be some other configuration can have it). In 8i, it was the .SER files under inventory/contents folder (I guess :-)).

  • Whats the Difference Between BOM and Components??

    Hi all,
    I tried to create a SubContracting PO,i found BOM and Components in Item <b>Tab</b>
    but if i click components and BOM same data details exists,then whats the difference between component and BOM??
    and also Pls give me method of Creating PO with BOM
    Thanks a lot in advance

    Dear Veeranna Chavadi,
    This is some infirmation about BOM in PO subcontract
    1) The purchasing department processing time defined for the plant
    2) The planned delivery time from the material master record or purchasing info record
    3) The delivery date
    4) The goods receipt processing time from the material master record
    For Ex:
    Processing time Planned del. GR processing
    Purchasing time time
    Release PO Delivery Date
    date date date required
    Date required: 10.09.2007
    GR processing time: 2 days (working days)
    Planned delivery time: 10 days (calendar days)
    Purchasing dept processing time: 2 days (working days)
    Requirement date less GR processing time, planned delivery time, and purchasing department processing time.
    Hope you understand, this is as per the SAP help.
    what happen to u r query, if BOM is exploding please close this thread as answered
    Hope this helps you

  • How to tell if a movie is a reference after the fact and components issue..

    Hello,
    I am unsure if a quicktime movie I made is self-contained or a reference movie. It is not playing and I was told I need components to play it (though I am not sure which ones) .... but what got me thinking is I looked at the data size in the inspector window and it says 20 gb and the file size says 2 gb. Is there a way to know if it's a ref movie or self-contained?
    This will solve my first question, and of course my next is how do I get it to play? What do I need to install? How do I know what components are needed? It was exported as a DVCPRO HD 720p60. I have quicktime Pro - I think it's version 7.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I believe that the movie is self-contained...I am seeing (in the properties window, resources tab) the original movie pointing to one .mov file and ten .mov1-10 files underneath. Does that sound self-contained?
    No, afraid not. When I said "the file will point to itself," I meant the resource will be the same as the open file's physical location on your hard drive. If it is pointing to other files with different names/locations or to a URL on the internet, then it is a reference file.
    I don't have FCP on my system. Do you know what components for QT I need to install to playback the DVCPro HD movie? Is it possible to play such a file w/out having FCP?
    Sorry my answer was so vague. QT Kirk has already "nailed" the answer for you. You have to install the FCP application. This application will install an entire set of encoding and decoding "DVCPROHD" components. Since your system does not have FCP installed, you should ask whoever provided these files to either transcode the files to AIC/AIFF for editing on a non-FCP system or export their FCP completed project to a common distribution/delivery format like H.264/AAC.

  • DB Copy (MSSQL) between two SAP systems with different level and Components

    Hi,
    we have a SAP system release mysap 2004 SR1 and for "the upgrade project  to SAP ECC 6.0 " we installed a new mysap 2004 in a new hardware (sap03) where we have also solution manager running. The new installed Mysap 2004 SR1 is alos running fine in the new hardware.
    Now we would like to do DB copy from the old system (sap02) to the the new system sap03 and then we will do the upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0.
    After I compared the two systems I have following questions:
    1) there are 4 Software Components which are not in the new system (sap03). This are:
    PI
    FIN_BLERP
    BP_INSTRASS
    Is this necesary for the DB copy or we do not need this to be able to do the DB copy?
    2) The Software Components Level is not the same. Should we have the same level to do the DB Copy?
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    HanseAtik

    Hi Juan, hi Clas,
    just to be clear and to not stuck on the the way:
    The systems are as follow:
    1) the source system:
                         - Windows Server 2003,
                         - MSSQL Server 2005 with 32 bit.
                         - Mysap 2004 SR1
    2) Target system:
                       - Windows Server 2003
                       - MSSQL Server 2005, with 64 bit.
                       - Mysap 2004 SR1 (with less Support package level and no PI, FIN_Basis, BP_BLERP and BP_INTASS coponents)
    I hope this will work. could you post the link the DB Copy guide we are talking about?
    By this way we will be sure that we are talking about the same DB Copy. Otherwise any mistake in this step will cost more work and time.
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
