Can somebody help me what to do?
Thanks

What operating system are you using?
That error means, that the system tried to create a shared memory segment which is already existing.
Try to stop the system and start it. If that does not help, restart the box.

    For system of the J2EE stack did you use sapinst export and import ?
    If the Java doesn't start then check the trace files (dev_server, std_server, bootstrap logs) present at /usr/sap/CS0/DVEBMGS00/work

  • Java Web Start(the program itself) doesn't start in offline mode

    Hi,
    My Java Web Start doesn't start when my internet connection is not on??? I have a program that needs also offline access so it's crucial to get JWS work without internet connection as well.
    The problem might be in those sun's example programs you can't remove? Maybe the program crashes when trying to get some information for those programs?
    (please read the question well. My problem IS NOT in the .jnlp-files <offline-allowed/>)
    And by the way those sun's demo programs that are supposed to start in offline mode(Internet connection not required) don't start even if you have started them once with the connection on.....
    -orainio

    I have the SAME problem -
    BUT....
    it NEVER works for me (online & offline)
    this stupid logon pops up and after a while disappears and nothing happens!
    got no fire wall, proxy etc...
    (win XP)
    plz helppppppppp

  • Java Web Start doesn't start

    I have installed Java 7 update 51 in Mac OS X 10.7.5. Yesterday Java Web Start starts well but today doesn't start. /Library/Application Support/Oracle/Java/javaws displays this error:
    Bad Installation: JAVAWS_HOME not set.

    Hi,
    I found some stuff, but it didn't work for me. Maybe you can give it a try.
    1. Deactivate Proxy
    Add or edit javaws.cfg.proxy.setting=NONE in the javaws.cfg file.
    2. Deactivate Splashscreen
    Add option "-Xnosplash" in the Windows registry for the .JNLP ending, i.e. "C:\Program Files\Java Web Start\javaws.exe" "-Xnosplash" "%1"
    3. Run with Java VM
    I created a .BAT file:
    SET JWS=C:/Programme/Java Web Start
    java -cp "%JWS%/javaws.jar" "-Djnlpx.home=%JWS%" com.sun.javaws.Main %1
    To run Java Web Start simply run the .BAT file. To run a specific application run the .BAT file with the complete URL of the .JNLP file.
    If this works for you, please drop a note here! Thanks!
    Bye

  • Java Doesn't Recognize Something That Exists?

    I'm writing an XML checker for a homework assignment. I'm using a stack which uses a double linked list which uses nodes with a generic data type.
    I ran into a problem after testing the program for the first time. I got a NullPointerException error at the instance where I tried to add a new node to the head. After a little digging I found out that apparently Java doesn't remember that I set the successor of "head" to be "tail". I've already spent 20 minutes going over the code that sets the tail as head's successor but I just can't see what I did wrong.

    A user on another forum h(http://preview.tinyurl.com/yjqx4a9) helped me find the problem. I had to create the head and tail first and then point them at each other. Thanks for all the help here.
    @flounder Even though I've already solved my problem I am still confused by what you're saying. The double linked list I created has two placeholders so that I don't have to worry about how many nodes are included. To connect my new node I start at the head and point at whatever is connected to the head (whether it is the tail or another node) to set the successor and predecessor for the new node. I then break the old connections (from the head to the old node after it) and connect them to the new node. I don't see a problem in this, but I am most likely not understanding your concern.
    I don't really want to let this go, because there might be a problem in my code that I don't see right now.
    @AndrewThompson64 I'll use that the next time I have a problem. Thanks.

  • Help: Pointbase db doesn't start when launching SP4 portal

    Hi,
    I downloaded WL platform SP4 today and installed (before the installation I uninstalled SP2)in my laptop. When I launch the examples portal, the pointbase db doesn't start. I tried both SP2 and SP3 in my laptop and both worked. The error messages below are directly copied from the console. My understanding is the portal server startup will automatically start pointbase db (I didn't do any configuration yet). Anybody know the problem and solution?
    My laptop config:
    Win XP, SP2, 1.6 GHz, 1GB memory
    I am the admin user.
    Thanks a lot!!

    The exception doesn't tell me much more than the DB connection / pool couldn't connect to the db.
    Sometimes solving these types of problems where it should work, this works everywhere else, so what could be wrong here... Let me suggest that you install a new domain using a new root directory. IE c:\bea814 and not reuse c:\bea.
    I'm guessing that an essential script or property file was not overwritten by the 814 install.
    JBTW, 814 pointbase is a new version and is run on a new port from prior 8.x versions, the new port is 9093, where prior versions was 9092.
    A diag. is after you start via, startWebLogic.cmd, to open a DOS window and run this command:
    netstat -an
    Look for a LISTEN on port 9093
    This would confirm that 814's pointbase is started and there's a configuration issue with the connection pools.
    Good luck, curt

  • HTTP Server Doesn't Start after install

    I just completed an install of the 10.1.3.1 Oracle App Server. It indicated that the install was successful. I can see in the log the BPEL Manager deploying in the default domain, but I do not see any reference to the HTTP server. Also, when I do a *./opmnctl startall* there is no HTTP_Server~1.log created.
    Is there a step I need to complete to enable the Apache server to start? I must be missing something - the Apache folder is there in the install folder.

    I now know I'm missing the <ias-component id="HTTP_Server"> in the opmn.xml file. The following is from an older install of a few years ago.
             <ias-component id="HTTP_Server">
                <process-type id="HTTP_Server" module-id="OHS">
                   <module-data>
                      <category id="start-parameters">
                         <data id="start-mode" value="ssl-enabled"/>
                      </category>
                   </module-data>
                   <process-set id="HTTP_Server" numprocs="1"/>
                </process-type>
             </ias-component>This explains why the startall doesn't start the HTTP Server, but why would the install not include the HTTP Server in the configuration?

  • Integration Builder doesn't start after SP11

    Hi,
    I am installing a new XI 3.0 SP1 system on Linux (SLES8). After installation, everything worked fine, I patched the system to stack 11. After this patch, the Integration Builder Configuration doesn't start anymore, the Java Web Start error message being 'JAR resources in JNLP file are not signed by same certificate'. The option 'Re-initialization and force-signing' in Java Web Start Administration has no effect.
    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jos

    Hi Jos,
    I had exactly the same problem. After discovering that 'Cummulative patch for XI TOOLS 3.0 SP11' miraculously disappeared from download area in SAP Marketplace I decided to undeploy whatever was possible from this patch (com.sap.aii.security.ws.proxy, com.sap.xi.directory, com.sap.xi.ibresources, com.sap.xi.repository, com.sap.xi.rwb and com.sap.services) and deploy 'Support Package 11 for XI TOOLS'.
    Both Integration Builder links (Repository and Directory) are working again.
    Another question is valid now: How to fix whatever Note 825655 supposed to (Patch 1 for SP11 XI3.0 contained fix described in this note)? I'm hoping that SAP Support could solve this problem soon.
    Best regards,
    Marek

  • Java doesn't pick up system's DNS settings change until restarted

    Hello,
    I have a service running on a few Linux computers. Those computers have a NIC, which is configured with a fixed IP address. So /etc/resolv.conf contains the IP address of the LAN's DNS server. But most of the time, the computers are not plugged into the LAN at all. Instead, they connect themselves periodically to the Internet by establishing a ppp connection. When it happens, the ISP's DHCP server assign them new IP parameters, including their DNS server's IP address. And /etc/resolv.conf gets updated with this address.
    But it seems that java doesn't take care of DNS change taking place during a run. Which means that my program (started at boot with no connectivity at all) tries to connect to some host, and obviously trigger an "UnknownHostException" (at that point it does try to contact the LAN's DNS server). Quite logical. Later, the ppp link become active. But my program still try to contact the LAN's DNS server, despite the new configuration in /etc/resolv.conf. As such, it will forever trigger UnknowHostExceptions, until it gets restarted (it will then pick up the new settings) or it is plugged back into the LAN (it will finally reach the LAN's DNS server).
    This is quite a problem as during one single execution, the machine may encounter several DNS configuration changes, and this problem basically means that it will be impossible for my application to resolve any name at all.
    So is there a way to tell Java to re-read the system wide DNS configuration? Or is there some option to prevent Java to "cache" the DNS server to use?
    To demonstrate my problem, I've written a simple test case, see below.
    To get the problem:
    1) Put a bogus DNS server into your /etc/resolv.conf
    2) Start the test program. Wait for some time: it will trigger UnknownHostExceptions.
    3) Fix the entry in /etc/resolv.conf, and check it actually works (eg ping www.google.be)
    4) Test program will continue to trigger UnknownHostExceptions forever.
    One interesting fact is that someone tried this test on Windows, and didn't suffer from this behaviour, eg the application reacts to DNS system settings changes dynamically. So it looks like a Linux-only problem.
    Thanks in advance for your insight.
    Pierre-Yves
    package com.test.dnsresolver;
    import java.net.InetAddress;
    import java.net.UnknownHostException;
    public class DnsResolver {
        private static String urlString = "www.google.com";
        public static void main(String[] args) {
             * Specified in java.security to indicate the caching policy for successful
             * name lookups from the name service. The value is specified as as integer
             * to indicate the number of seconds to cache the successful lookup.
            java.security.Security.setProperty("networkaddress.cache.ttl" , "10");
             * Specified in java.security to indicate the caching policy for un-successful
             * name lookups from the name service. The value is specified as as integer to
             * indicate the number of seconds to cache the failure for un-successful lookups.
             * A value of 0 indicates "never cache". A value of -1 indicates "cache forever".
            java.security.Security.setProperty("networkaddress.cache.negative.ttl", "0");
            int loopCounter = 0;
            while (true) {
                InetAddress resolved;
                try {
                    resolved = InetAddress.getByName(urlString);
                    System.out.println("Loop " + loopCounter + ": resolved IP address: " + resolved);
                } catch (UnknownHostException e) {
                    System.out.println("Loop " + loopCounter + ": UnknownHostException");
                    e.printStackTrace();
                loopCounter++;
                try {
                    Thread.sleep(1000);
                } catch (InterruptedException e) {}
    }

    Well, the nameservice property allowing to specify my DNS server of choice is interesting (I didn't know about those), but not very usable, as the DNS server to use is not known in advance (it may be whatever the ISP tells me to use at the time where the ppp link gets established). So no real solution there.
    The fact that it caches /etc/resolv.conf content for 300s is very interesting, but having no possibility to impact on this duration really is a pity. There should be some kind of property to fix this behaviour. So as you say, a custom provider may be the only solution.
    So far, the hack I use to get this working is based on code similar to this one (it is presented here in a similar form than my test case above). Obviously, reading the /etc/resolv.conf for each dns resolution is not an option in a real environment, but you get the idea.
    package com.test.dnsresolver;
    import java.io.BufferedReader;
    public class DnsResolver {
         private static final String urlString = "www.google.com";
         private static final String resolvConf = "/etc/resolv.conf";
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              int loopCounter = 0;
              while (true) {
                   loopCounter++;
                   try {
                        Thread.sleep(1000);
                   } catch (InterruptedException e) {}
                   // Parse the current DNS server to be used in the config
                   String nameserver = null;
                   try {
                        BufferedReader input =  new BufferedReader(new FileReader(new File(resolvConf)));
                        String currentLine = null;
                        while (( currentLine = input.readLine()) != null){
                             // Take care of potential comments
                             currentLine = currentLine.substring(0, currentLine.indexOf("#") == -1
                                       ? currentLine.length() : currentLine.indexOf("#") );
                             if (currentLine.contains("nameserver")) {
                                  // It is the line we are looking for
                                  nameserver = currentLine;
                                  break;
                   } catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
                        System.out.println("Loop " + loopCounter + ": FileNotFoundException");
                   } catch (IOException e) {
                        System.out.println("Loop " + loopCounter + ": IOException");
                   if (nameserver == null) {
                        // No "nameserver" line found
                        System.out.println("Loop " + loopCounter + ": No nameserver found in configration file!");
                        continue;
                   // Trim it to just contain the IP address
                   nameserver = (nameserver.replace("nameserver", "")).trim();
                   System.out.println("Loop " + loopCounter + ": Going to use DNS server " + nameserver);
                   // At this point, we know which server to use, now perform the resolution
                   Hashtable<String, String> env = new Hashtable<String, String>();
                   env.put("java.naming.factory.initial", "com.sun.jndi.dns.DnsContextFactory");
                   env.put("java.naming.provider.url",    "dns://" + nameserver);
                   DirContext ictx;
                   try {
                        ictx = new InitialDirContext(env);
                        Attributes attrs1 = ictx.getAttributes(urlString, new String[] {"A"});
                        System.out.println("Loop " + loopCounter + ": Manual resolution: +" + attrs1.get("a").get() + "+");
                   } catch (NamingException e) {
                        System.out.println("Loop " + loopCounter + ": NamingException");
    }So maybe I should adapt and package this into a proper provider and specify it for sun.net.spi.nameservice.provider. Any link, info or example about how a proper provider should look like?
    Thanks for your advices!

    <i>syslog</i> has lot of error messages:
    SAP Basis System: Operating system call           recv failed (error no. 10054)
    When I counter this problem, I uninstalled and installed again. Still same problem persists.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Real problem is log is full.
    To overwrite the log files run this:
    dbmcli [-n <hostname>] -d <databasename> -u <dbmuser>,<dbmuserpw> util_execute set log auto overwrite on
    Default MaxDB installation accepts (control, control) for (username, passwd)
    How to overwrite/remove log files?
