Help: Pointbase db doesn't start when launching SP4 portal
Hi,
I downloaded WL platform SP4 today and installed (before the installation I uninstalled SP2)in my laptop. When I launch the examples portal, the pointbase db doesn't start. I tried both SP2 and SP3 in my laptop and both worked. The error messages below are directly copied from the console. My understanding is the portal server startup will automatically start pointbase db (I didn't do any configuration yet). Anybody know the problem and solution?
My laptop config:
Win XP, SP2, 1.6 GHz, 1GB memory
I am the admin user.
Thanks a lot!!
Error messages from the launching console:

The exception doesn't tell me much more than the DB connection / pool couldn't connect to the db.
Sometimes solving these types of problems where it should work, this works everywhere else, so what could be wrong here... Let me suggest that you install a new domain using a new root directory. IE c:\bea814 and not reuse c:\bea.
I'm guessing that an essential script or property file was not overwritten by the 814 install.
JBTW, 814 pointbase is a new version and is run on a new port from prior 8.x versions, the new port is 9093, where prior versions was 9092.
A diag. is after you start via, startWebLogic.cmd, to open a DOS window and run this command:
netstat -an
Look for a LISTEN on port 9093
This would confirm that 814's pointbase is started and there's a configuration issue with the connection pools.
Good luck, curt

Oracle doesn't started when When I reboot the Server.
Dear All,
I have installed 10g using ASM and Oracle-managed files on a Windows Server 2003 (Second Edition , Service Pack 1 ) system . I have put no data in, and I take the defaults. It works fine - until the system reboots.
Oracle doesn't started when When I reboot the Server.
Here is what I get from sqlplus, following the instructions to start an ASM instance:

Update firefox, it asked me to update flash, I tried to update flash but it said I had to close firefox. A box came up and said the Flash install would continue when I closed firefox. I closed all firefox windows and no update of flash occurred. I tried relaunching firefox but got the "Doesn't start when starting as administrator. Error Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." message. I rebooted the system, no improvement. I tried to run firefox as administrator and got the same message. Either I find a fix or I won't be able to use firefox and will have to go back to ie.

Music doesn't start when selected from playlist have to push pause then start. Always playing one track behind what is on screen as my I-pad worksorks fine
Same problem here, since upgrading to IOS-5. Whenever I try to shuffle or play a genius mix (or even simply play an album) the iPod will skip the first one or two songs, play one song and then 'crash'. I say 'crash' because it selects the next song and then nothing happens - the player isn't paused, and it appears to think it's playing, but the time bar doesn't change and no sounds come out. Occasionally I've noticed the album artwork is wrong too.
Rebooting does NOT work - I've tried it a number of times.
Is this just an iPod problem?? If so, I would be surprised if Apple do anything quickly about it - they're more worried about iPhone problems I expect, and we (iPod users) are just the poor relations... C'mon Apple - SORT IT OUT!!!! -
ITunes doesn't open when launched or takes several minutes to open
Just like the title says, iTunes doesn't open when I click the shortcut in the Start menu. It appears in the windows task manager under proccesses as 'iTunes.exe *32'. Not sure what else I can do. I need to use iTunes to synce my mom's iPhone 4S and my iPod touch 3 Generation. Any help is greatly appreciated!

My application doesn't start when I run the domain as windows service
I am using weblogic 10.3.2 and i created a domain called rec_domain and i have AdminServer
also i deployed application called myApplication to the rec_domain
then i created windows service to run the server as a windows service
The Script for Setting Up a Server as a Windows Service:
echo off
SETLOCAL
set DOMAIN_NAME=rec_domain
set USERDOMAIN_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\rec_domain
set SERVER_NAME=AdminServer
set WLS_USER=usernmae
set WLS_PW=password

call "C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\bin\installSvc.cmd"
ENDLOCAL
the service was created successfully and when i restart the computer it runs the adminserver successfully
but it doesn't start myApplication_
does anyone know where is the problem?
Edited by: Wael Ibrahim on 28/12/2009 05:48 صHi Wael,
Can you please specify, What do u mean by Application Doesn't start? Is it Moving to PREPARED State Rather than ACTIVE state? Or the Application Health is not OK? Are you seeing any Warning or Error Message while starting the Server related to Deployment?
As the Production Mode is On...So I just wanted to confirm that By Mistake have u used the AutoDeploy feature to deploy Applications...Because the AutoDeploy Feature Doesn't Work in Production_Mode=true.
After Configuring the Windows Service Have you tried to Deploy the Application Freshly? Was it Successful?
Thanks

Workbook doesn't fit the window when launched from Portal
Hello SCNer's,
When a workbook is launched from Portal it opens to the right side of the window and is minimized.
It fits the window once maximized, are there any settings available which can defaultly set the workbook to fit the window.
Thanks SCNer's.Hi,
Do you mean by executing the Query in portal or executing the Workbook.
Protal setting for the number of columns/rows are decided by 0ANALZER_PATTERN web template. Which is the default web template.
Check the settings in the Default Web Template used.
Thanks & Regards,

Help-Cubes are not getting started when Analytical server started in 11.1.1
Installed Oracle Essbase Analytical server along with Shared Services, Provider Services and Integration Services thru EPM v11.1.1.3. Shared services and provider services on Windows 2003 and Essbase Analytical Services and Integration Services on UNIX/AIX. All the components got configured successfully. Copied the essbase.sec from the server which has previous version (v11.1.1.1.0) of Essbase. We have been encountering couple of problems. The first one is the applications(cubes) didn't start when the analytical server started. The second one is when trying to start using MAXL script, the applications took long time (more than 30 minutes) to start.
Any suggestions that you may have in resolving this are appreciated. Thanks,In the application properties, is the box 'Start application when Essbase server starts' checked? If not, that's why they didn't automatically start. Also, once you started them manually, does it still take 30 minutes to start? Or is shutdown and startup faster now?

MDT Wizard very slow to start when launching Litetouch.vbs
Hi,
For a few months, I have an issue when launching Litetouch.vbs, the Wizard initialisation il very slow. Normaly it takes 20 to 30 seconds to launch, now it takes about 4 minutes. The wizard hang 3 times for 1.5 minute. The problem is present on
many computers here and even on a brand new installed computer.
Something strange, when the Wizard have been launched a first time, then closed. The next time I launch Litetouch.vbs, I is fast (20 to 30 seconds).
When I check the LOG : C:\MININT\SMSOSD\OSDLOGS\BDD.log, the lines that seems to hang are :
<![LOG[Property definition is now = BDD_Welcome_ENU.xml]LOG]!>
<![LOG[Property definition is now = WelcomeWiz_Initialize.xml]LOG]!>
<![LOG[Property definition is now = DeployWiz_Definition_ENU.xml]LOG]!>
Does anyone have an idea what can be the problem ?
Thanks!
DominicThe lines that are running slow above are when MDT is trying to write to the variables.dat file. There is nothing special about this operation, it's just reading/writing to a text file.
I still think there is something else on this machine that is causing the litetouch.wsf scripts to run slowly. Perhaps you have some anti-virus programs causing problems.
Best way to isolate the problem is to load a clean version of windows on a machine (without any corporate apps), and try running MDT litetouch again.

HT1533 Help my iMac doesn't start from the white screen and apple and whirring gear icon.
Help! My IMac doesn't boot up ...just a white screen, apple and whirring gear. I tried turning it off and on and then turning it on while holding down the shift key but nothing.
Could be a HD failure. Gina please do 2 things, first is when you post it's imperative for us to know some things about your system so we can diagnose properly. We need to know what iMac you have, some basics about how it's configured and how much RAM is installed and most importantly the version of OS X installed. Without those basics it's very difficult. To get you started though, please carefully read and methodically follow Apple's instructions in Gray screen appears during startup

App won't start when launched on Sam-A950
Hey,
I've created a simple test app and it runs fine in the flash
simulator as well as the brew simulator/emulator, but when I load
it and try to launch it on my Samsung A950, only an hourglass
appears (endlessly). I can hit CLR or END to abort the launch, so
it doesn't actually freeze the handset. Anybody have a similiar
problem or knows what I may be doing wrong? I loaded the
brewsaplayer and the flashlite_2_1 app on the handset first. Any
help would be appreciated!
ThanksI have not had a problem like this. I've actually put 3 of my
games over to my V3m so far. If you want to send me your files I
can test on my device. -
Signed, cached JNLP applet doesn't start when updating from 1.6 to 1.7
Hi, yesterdays forced upgrade from Java6 to Java7 uncovered a nasty surprise for us:
We're running a game client through JNLP embedded in the browser using signed all-permission jars. The certificate is definitely valid and hasn't timed out.
When upgrading from 1.6 to 1.7 the applet won't start because of a supossed permission violation for the cached jars. Web start thinks that the jars in the cache are not signed (although they are).
Deleting the applet cache through the control panel, or deploying a new version of the applet both solves the problem as then the cached version will be overwritten with a newly downloaded version, and everything works fine from then on until switching back to 1.6 again.
Are 1.6 vs. 1.7 cached, signed jars not compatible? Something to do with pre-validation? Wouldn't it be a good idea to completely invalidate the applet cache in the JRE installer? Is this a bug on the JRE side, or are we somehow not using JNLP the right way (we're running the game for 2 years now, and a couple of million players have played the game since then on JRE6, so I assume we're using JNLP basically the right way).
Also, early JRE7 preview versions didn't seem to have this problem, I remember testing JRE7 intensively a few months back without any problems, however I'm not sure whether the cache remained intact when installing the preview JRE7 runtime.
Here are the console traces, please excuse the German, hopefully it's still clear what happens.
Oops, unfortunately I can only send 30k characters per post. I'd be happy to send you more traces, and additional information. Thanks in advance :)
Here's a trace when going from 1.6 to 1.7 with the failed permission validation:

basic: Dialog type is not candidate for embeddingWouldn't it be a good idea to completely invalidate the applet cache in the JRE installer?Yes, I guess it should be an option for user of the app on first start after upgrade, not for the JRE installer. There are many large applications that users would want to avoid re-download.
From the log, there is some hidden exception during first launch. The best way to proceed is to file a bug, including some guest/debugging access to the game. -
Why jws doesn't start when i use jsp as dynamic jnlp?
hello everyone,
i use a jsp as dynamic jnlp to resolve the relative codebase problem, but jws can not start. while i use jnlp, there is no problem.i check the http head the jsp reterned,it seems no problem (it returns "application/x-java-jnlp-file" content type), but jws does not start and the browser opens it as a plan text. below is the http head the jsp and jnlp returned, i can not see any obvious difference that prevent jws start. hope somobody can help me, thanks.
the jsp http head:

the response body is same. here is part of the jsp file:
