ASA 5500X Etherchannel With Mixed Copper and Fibre Ports Fail
ASA5500x - 9.1x
Unable to configure an etherchannel using a mixture of the on board UTP and an SFP interface from the ASA-IC-6GE-SFP-A module (which does support etherchannels unlike the SSM-4GE= ). Both are configured to run 1Gbps. Can anyone confirm that you cannot mix the two.
Cisco documentation advices "All interfaces in the channel group must be the same type and speed. The first interface added to the channel group determines the correct type and speed. ". However it does not elaborate on the definition of "type".
Error shown "WARNING: GigabitEthernet0/0 is not compatible with GigabitEthernet1/2 and will be suspended (speed of GigabitEthernet0/0 is 1000 Mbps, GigabitEthernet1/2 is 1000 Mbps)".
There are no nameif configurations on either port, the firewall is new and had no previous configuration. The etherchannel is partially formed but one or the other will is suspended (depends on which on was added second). Have done "clear config interface" on both interfaces and port-channels, still no joy. The downstreams are a pair of Cisco NX5Ks, with a VPC.

Word 2007 mail merge : problem with mixed portrait and landscape orientations
Hi there,
I have a 3 pages document Word 2007 file
This is a mail merge I want to export in PDF using Adobe Acrobat Printer,
then send "big" PDF to printing.
page 1 is PORTRAIT
page 2 is PORTRAIT
page 3 is LANDSCAPE
In PDF pages 1 and 2 are perfectly fine, inside an A4 format (width=210 height=297mm or something)
but for page 3, system changed to a "double" sized page (A3 width=297 height=420) and printed my stuff at the 1st top middle of big page.
So I have a big "double" sheet, oriented PORTRAIT, with my stuff in 1st half, and a blank in 2nd half.
It seems that system did not rotate the page... and just put the stuff into a bigger sheet to "solve" at best.
I would like the same size of paper (A4) but in landscape : width=297 height=210
I have already seen many PDF with mixed portrait and landscape orientations, so what's the thing ?
With my advanced thanks,
And greetings from Paris, France !
VinceSome questions:
Which version of office were you using before? 2003?
Are the data files on a network, or on your local machine? If they are on a network, can you make a copy of one of them on your local machine and try again?
Can you open the files directly in Excel? What extension do they have (.xls, or something else?) I am wondering whether access to other file types has been left blocked on your machine but is allowed on your colleague's machine.
Are you just opening the mail merge main document and seeing this message? If so, do you see the same thing if you start with a new document and try to connect to one of these data sources?
Can you confirm that the message is about Access even though you are trying to connect to an Excel file?
(Also, office 2007 has some new stuff - that let's you specify that certain folders are "trusted" . I don't think that ever affected MailMerge but it may be as well to make sure that your documents and data sources are in trusted locations).
Also worth trying to start Word in "Safe mode" - see, e.g. http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/word-help/work-with-office-safe-modes-HP010140792.aspx

I have an old SB! Live soundcard with a gameport and standard ports, I was wondering
Like I said, I have a reasonably old SB! Li've soundcard with a gameport and standard ports i.e. (speaker, mic, line in etc.) I want to get a little audio mixer to do some recording, I figured I'd have to buy a new card but then i saw this little adpator they had on another card and I wondered, I'm already using the port on my soundcard for a Midi keyboard thanks to a little adaptor. Do you think it will possible if I get an adaptor like that one on the card in the picture I could plug a mixer in?
http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/product_pics/big/audiophile2496.jpgYou can transfer the purchases you made on your old iPhone 3 by plugging it in to iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases from your IPhone to the iTunes on your computer. This will get music you purchased in iTunes, apps, etc. (e.g., movies).
But for the rest you would need to restore a backup of your newly deceased computer. -

Connect as: normal with Oracle 12c and Toad 12 FAILS.
I've been looked at forums, blogs and wikies but I couldn't found why my new user, that I created before, can't connect as NORMAL but as SYSDBA it can.
I don't know why this occurs.
My intention is create a user/schema in a local DB to have my own db.
I can create a new user but when I go to connect to this new schema I only connect as SYSDBA, this is a big trouble because I can "see" object's DBA and I don't want this, I want create my own new schema db and not share name's object or name's tables with DBA.
For example, object JOB exists as SYSDBA and I can't create a new table with this name.
Please, help me.

Afform with mixed readonly and updateable attributes
Hi Everyone.
I have an af:form in which I want to get the key attribute (EmpID) from the securityContext (based on the user login) and then based on the EmpID all other attributes of the VO should be populated in the form.
Which is ok. But when I am defining the EmpID attribute of the EO as not updatable it is appearing in the form without the field box just as plain text. Is there a way to make the value not updateable as well as get the field box?
Second
My af:Form has only a few attributes and is inside a panelstretch layout, so it appears on the screen as very little text on a large screen. I tried setting the font size but is not that useful. What I want to achieve is that the form to appear on the centre portion of the screen (occupying atleast 70% of screen space) How can I do that?
Third
My form basically has two portions(virtual divisions) on portion is based on fixed values i.e. based on the EmpID the values of FName, LName, Dept, JobTitle, Manager should be auto populated(which happens) but are editable (which I dont want). When I make the EO attribute not updateable it appears as plain text instead of text in field box.
The second portion is based on the input values(need user input and is based on attributes from another VO) where in the 3 fields are auto populated and not updateable APPNO(populated through sequence on db) AppDate (populated with current date) and NoofDays (populated based on an expression)- Again the problem is when I am making the EO attribute not updateable it shows as plain text.
What am I missing or doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Awaiting help!!

this is the default behavior for text field components. You could change it by not using a read only field but an updateable field and then have he field refusing to take focus, which JavaScript will work for sure for and CSS probably as well. If a CSS solution works the all you need to do is to set the contentStyle property of the input component to this value

Playlist with mixed songs and videos
I'm trying to use a Nano to play music and videos with a projector system. I'd like to play a playlist with both mp3 audio files and mp4 music videos.
Setting up the playlist is no problem. In iTunes (Mac) it plays fine, switching between audio and video modes.
However, on my Nano, if I play the list from the Songs menu, I only get the audio from the video files. OK, fine, I understand the logic of that. But when I select the playlist from the Video Playlists menu, I only see the Videos and it won't play the music-only files.
Is there any way to get the Nano to play the mixed playlist like iTunes does?
CliffYou can't do it with the iPod nano, but I have been doing it with a 5th gen for several years. I was shocked to find out this feature is now gone in the new nano. I'm guessing (but would like confirmation) that the same is true for the iPod classic since they use the same GUI/OS.
I sent feedback to Apple here - http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodnano.html
Maybe if more folks who want that feature back, Apple will fix it. -
Localization: Best practice suggestions Apps with mixed UI and Content languages?
I am trying to write a simple Universal app that can be easily localized to different UI languages. But the app also needs to display content that is determined by user settings. For example I would like the app UI to display in the users region (English,
Russian, etc.) while at the same time having fields on the page whose strings are coming from other resources (Latin "la"? , Spanish, etc.).
The samples are pretty good about how to setup resources with respect to the UI ( e.g. Strings/en-us/Resources.resw ) but not what to do if you want to also be able to draw strings from a different language. When the words in the content fields show in Latin
I don't want the UI to also be in Latin.
Suggestions on best way to do this?
Thanks,
-Tom19Hi Tom19,
I did not receive the email notification on my mailbox for your reply, that's weird. Sorry for the late response.
Basically we have the best practice documentation for you:

DLL interfacing with mixed value and reference types
I'm currently trying to work with a supplied DLL.
I have header files and all, and the DLL import wizard does a decent job of importing the DLL functions but there are some data types which simply can't be handled.
The DLL requires usage of a data type which is a struct with value and reference data types. I could theoretically replace the references with simple U32s but much of the required information in the data is in the data structures referenced by the pointers.
How do I go about implementing this seeing how I need to be able to pass the data back into the DLL in its original form (value and reference types).
I have something like the following:
struct Item {
Int Device,
*Item Next
*Item Previous
*Data Datastruct
I have downloaded the WDK from Microsoft, have CVI and Visual Studio 2008 available. I'm not very experienced at this end of things... I can deal with Structs with pure value types but how do I get at the data in the reference types?
I strongly suspect I need a wrapper DLL, but how is the best way to go about this?
Shane.
Say hello to my little friend.
RFC 2323 FHE-Compliant
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi Shane,
To be honest, I don't understand why you have to pass the ENTIRE structue (if it's "Item" structure. The pointer to the next and the previous item should be held and manituplated in the DLL, doesn't it?
Operate within classes....
Are you talking about Labview Classes? I didn't use it yet. Sorry.
Convert Linked List to Array You can't store all elements by value in a cluster, because it's kind of recursive. The next pointer leads to the same Item structure (with it's own next pointer. If it's a circulary-linked-list it will never stop)
Or did you mean to store the pointers as a U32 value? That should work.
Output the struct as a binary blob Yes, why not ! But that lets me assume you don't know the concrete "Datastructure" ?!
I'm honest again I can't see the important information you mentioned if you pass the Data structure as a binary blob.
Read-only is a very good idea. If you don't need to tweak the pointers in the list you should avoid it.

Newbie: 6020E (USB) slow performance with mixed digital and analog input
Hi,
I'm using a 6020E to do analog and digital input, and I'm getting very bad performance.
Please note that doing IO in Labview is new to me!
I have read the post about 6020E slow performance, and it says I should do buffered IO.
Can anybody point me to some DOC or SAMPLE that actually shows or explains how one should do this. I need to read several digital IO lines (which I can combine in one port-read), and several analog inputs.
Seeing how slow the reading on the 6020E is, I am amazed there is only one post that deals with this issue.
I would be satisfied to get the 6020E into some sort of continuous read mode so that whenever I need data, I get the latest reading right away.
thanks,
Peter D'HoyeHi Peter,
Your cannot do buffered digital I/O with your daqpad. It doesn't have that capability. You can only make direct software calls with digital read/write from/to your port. So your digital IO is completely software clocked and not hardware clocked. The example you are trying is only for specific Simultanuous sampling boards or now also for M-series boards that are able to do correlated DIO.
Use the Cont Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk.vi example for your analog measurements. (NI Example Finder) For your digital IO you can only use the examples like Read Dig Chan.vi, Read Dig Port,...
There are indeed some slow performance issues with single point I/O Operations, that is correct.
Check the explaination below:
DAQPads are offered for the Universal Serial Bus (USB) and the IEEE 1394 (also known as FireWire). Both of these standards use a high-speed serial communication protocol between the computer and the device with a bandwidth up to 12 MB/s for USB and 400 MB/s for FireWire.
During a single point operation, the DAQ device requires a complete set of configuration commands. This is done through serial communication (USB or FireWire), making the process slower than in a PCI-based board. The speed obtained for single point operation in a DAQPad is system dependent; this means that your computer processor, memory, bus speed, and other factors alter the speed at which you can do single-point operations with a DAQPad.
For example, on the DAQPad-6020E, timed non-buffered analog input operations are limited to about 50 Hz. At higher rates, the software may become unresponsive. On a FireWire device, you can expect stable operation around 3,000 Hz. But again, these figures are system dependent.
Regards.

Message thread with mixed iMessage and SMS participants, but I can only send iMessages
So I have a long running thread with a group of friends, some of us use iPhones and others do not. My phone used to understand this and would automatically just send SMS messages in the thread. However, now my phone will not do anything but send iMessages in the thread. It still automatically sends an SMS if I send a text to someone who doesn't use iMessage if its not in the thread. I have tried everything to get it to recognize that it needs to send SMS in this thread, but the only solution I have found so far is to completely turn off iMessage.
I had an iPhone 5 and updated to a 6 and everything was still working fine. This issue started immediately after I set up text message forwarding to my macbook and iPad. I would prefer not to delete the thread itself and start a new one with the same people but it seems that may be the only option i have left.If you have Send as SMS enabled on your phone, your next step is to contact your cellular carrier to troubleshoot with them.

Issue with SPA525g registation and FXO port call calls are not disconnecting properly
Hi,
I have a UC540 and updated it to the latest IOS version with the latest firmware to my phones and i am having registration problems with SPA525g IP Phones. I updated the firmware of the phones as well and create manual tftp bindings with but still it is not registering. I run a couple of debugs (debug tftp events and debug ephone registration) I can see from the logs and in the phone that it is taking the proper VLAN and being discovered via CDP and being pointed to the TFTP server and still wont register. I can see that it is also taking its own .cnf file properly then the output sccp token regected invalid devices error is shown I have a SPA502G and it is working fine. Also there is a previous issue that all the voice port are shown as engage or offhook even the calls are disconnected thus make the main PSTN number busy am based in UAE and our service provider is etisalat I have check with them about the proper disconnection values but still it the same. That's why I have arrived in the conclusion to just update everything including the IOS and the phones firmware. I have put my config in this post, I am also trying to take the CCNA Voice exam on the 2nd week of april and I think that if i don't know how fix this issue for our customer then I would probably fail that exam. any suggestion and help is greatly appreciated cisco experts.

Some of the output are not shown becaus it is to long I have attach the whole config for reference and any advice on how could I optimize and resolve my issues is greatly appreciated. ThanksNicolo - First off this stuff gets crazy sometimes. No worries about the exam. Sometimes when FXO ports go crazy it is due to battery reversal. If you go to the FXO port settings try turning battery reversal on and or off... depending on its current setting. See if that helps.
As for the 525s not registering.. These are inside the network correct? Are you connecting one directly to the UC500 with a Cat5E or Cat6 patch cable and the same thing happens? Does the MAC address on the phone match a MAC address under the EPHONE settings?
If you telnet into the UC500 can you execute a "dir" command at the CLI prompt and "CD" (change directory) into the phones folder and then the spa525g folder? Do files exist in there?
Also I only see an IP address under BVI100? This is the voice side of things what happened to the IP address under BVI1 (Data VLAN). Can you give us some information about the internal network? Cna you PING this phone system from the network? What IP address does it have? -
SSL between NSAPI and WLS with custom certificate and RequireSSLHostMatch=true fails
I am trying to use SSL for communication between NSAPI and WebLogic
server (server authentication at the NSAPI).
Therefore, a custom server certificate is installed on WLS, containing this
server's hostname. The NSAPI is configured (RequireSSLHostMatch=true) to
check the hostname contained in the certificate against the WebLogicHost
parameter in the "obj.conf" file. The corresponding TrustedCAFile is installed
for NSAPI.
The SSL setup seems to work ok, but when matching the hostname, it seems like
NSAPI is trying to do a string-match against the numeric IP of the WebLogicHost,
not on the hostname as configured in the WebLogicHost parameter.
The relevant entry in the "obj.conf" file:
<Object name="weblogic" ppath="*">
Service fn=wl-proxy WebLogicHost=btsun2a.muc \
WebLogicPort=7162 \
Debug=ALL \
SecureProxy=ON \
TrustedCAFile=/home/qx13604/wls61/config/testdomain/TC_RootServer_PEM_Class0.pem
RequireSSLHostMatch=true
</Object>
I am using WLS6.1 with NSAPI (both Solaris). The content of "wlproxy.log" is as
follows.
Any ideas?

Thu Oct 11 12:30:22 2001 request [index.jsp] processed ..................I tried some other case and configured a certificate containing
the numeric IP as hostname. The authentication works fine then,
but it wouldn't be nice to hard-code the IP in the certificate
(btw. the WebLogicHost parameter is still given as DNS name, not
as IP address).
Has anyone got a solution for this?

I am trying to use SSL for communication between NSAPI and WebLogic
server (server authentication at the NSAPI).
Therefore, a custom server certificate is installed on WLS, containing
this
server's hostname. The NSAPI is configured (RequireSSLHostMatch=true)
to
check the hostname contained in the certificate against the WebLogicHost
parameter in the "obj.conf" file. The corresponding TrustedCAFile is
installed
for NSAPI.
The SSL setup seems to work ok, but when matching the hostname, it seems
like
NSAPI is trying to do a string-match against the numeric IP of the WebLogicHost,
not on the hostname as configured in the WebLogicHost parameter.
The relevant entry in the "obj.conf" file:
<Object name="weblogic" ppath="*">
Service fn=wl-proxy WebLogicHost=btsun2a.muc \
WebLogicPort=7162 \
Debug=ALL \
SecureProxy=ON \
TrustedCAFile=/home/qx13604/wls61/config/testdomain/TC_RootServer_PEM_Class0.pem
RequireSSLHostMatch=true
</Object>
I am using WLS6.1 with NSAPI (both Solaris). The content of "wlproxy.log"
is as
follows.

Scatterplot with 1 point and negative axis fails
I'm attaching a simple reproducible case below.
If you run in IE it will crash after running out of memory.
If running in the Flash player outside of IE, it times out
and gives this exception:
Error: Error #1502: A script has executed for longer than the
default timeout period of 15 seconds.

In my example the x axis goes from -34,000,000 to zero and
the y axis has a similar range.
There is only one point.

i would recommend calling them at 1 800 275 2273 or 1 800 APL CARE with teh serial number for teh AppleTV for support to get that working correctly.
It is possible that the router may be to blame here ( im not dumpign all the blame on it, just offering a suggestion) you may wanna unplug everything from the router, wait a couple minutes and then try again. if that doesnt resolve the issue its possible you may need to hard reset your router and setup your network again.
I had a similar issue with connecting multiple ipads, PCs, and macs to a Netear router and some would connect for a while then lose access after a few minutes. i upgraded to an airport extreme and that cleared up all my connectivity issues.
