Asking about icon and mouselistener

i think i post this thread before but it was gone. so i post it again.
anybody knows how to insert icon in JFrame? so far, it can only implemented in JPanel. and somebody help me how to make icon larger than before and show some tooltip when mouse select it? in my mind, we just add listener when mouse over image, then setTooltips. is it right?

You can find you postings by:
a) displaying your "Watch List" which can be found on the left of the forum when you are logged in
b) searching the forum for any posting that contains your userid

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

A question about ActionListener and MouseListener

my question here is when we should implement a MouseListener and when we should use ActionListener instead.
I know ActionEvent is fired when a action performed, for instance, a button was pressed down, but I think by implementing a MouseListener, we can use its mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) method to do the same job as the actionPerformed method.
So, what's the difference between a actionevent(button has been pressed down)and a mouse event(click on a button)? And when we should use them?

Using the ActionListener actionCommand is the normal paradigm for button clicks.
ActionEvents, ChangeEvents etc are much higher-level than MouseEvents. And you should use the highest level of abstraction that provides sufficient specificity.
When adding MouseListener to an component you actully let the system do more work then needed.
( you have the mouseEntered, mousePressed, mouseClicked, mouseReleased, ..)
Every button click will "generate" three mouse events... pressed, released and clicked.

I want to run some example in some sites i found.
but some time i found that the sample requires or need me to download the included library in order to run the code successfully
while i don't know what, how and where to put that library.
i download it, and it in .jar type. , i also find the instruction like this : *"Please note that these packages must be on the classpath of your building environment."*
what that means actually ?, how to accomplish it ?
and what about that .jar file, i think it must be a collection of file (or class???) , because when i looked at the code, it contains some import commands. and that jar file is the required files to download.
please give me some brief n clear knowledge about this.

Somewhat old iPhone 5, gonna upgrade to ios 7. asking about iWork and iLife.

i was watcing the event last night where tim cook revealed the iphone 5s and 5c and he was saying that iWork suite apps and iLife suite apps are gonna become free. this morning i check the apple website and was looking at the specs of the iPhone 5s and when i scrolled all the way to the bottom it said something about devices activated after sept. 1, 2013 will have iWork and iLife available to them...
does that mean that i have to get a new iphone and activate it.... im really confused about this....

Good for you. But, that's NOT what the footnote says. The footnote states Apple devices activated after 9/1 that can run IOS 7.0...nothing about when purchased. Since all iOS devices that can run iOS 7.0 will require "activation" after being updated, I think the footnote needs clarification from Apple, and apparently, I'm not the only one that feels so. This is the second post I've seen regarding this.
Like I said, we'll find out when iOS 7.0 is released, unless Apple gives clarification before hand.

When I open up Calendar it asks about adding and event and gives me the option to choose a calendar, or I can click on cancel. If I choose cancel, the window pops right back up. If I click continue thousands of imports start opening...Calendar freezes.

I run OSX10.6.8. Just dwnlded FF8.1 and everytime I go to open it I am asked about the disk image. But if I delete the dmg, the program won't run.

I just downloaded the 8.1 version. It was a 30+mb file. Previously I ran 4.0. So I drag the new Firefox icon into the Apps folder. It does its merge thing with the old version. Problem is when I click to open FF now, it always throws up this window asking me about the disk image of what I just downloaded. I even tried restarting the computer--but the same message pops up. I checked on your website and it says that I need to "eject" the disk image (i.e. I'm guessing that means the 30+ mb file I just down loaded), so since I don't have an eject option that I can find (except for external harddrives and cd/dvd), I just drug it into the trash. I go to empty the trash and I get a message that that dmg file is "in use" even though FF is completely shut down. So again I'm guessing that means that even though I already merged that dmg file with the old 4.0 version file, if I dump the update file it seems that it's going to mess up the actual revised program file still remaining. I just want to be able to click on the icon in my dock like I've always done and have FF open. I don't want to keep being asked about disk image stuff. Somehow this feels like an easy resolution, but I just can't seem to put my finger on how to resolve it. Thanks for you help.

Nope---didn't work. I've owned Macs for about 12 years so although I am brain dead on some things, I do have a working knowledge on most things. I only say that to say this--I did try holding down the mouse and choosing empty trash. It asks if I want to permanently delete what's in there. I say yes--and then I get the same identical message again-----'The operation can't be completed because the item "Firefox 8.0.1.dmg" is in use I can then click stop, or continue.' So apparently that complains the same way it does if I click it up on the menu :)))
As for item owned by---that's not an issue and isn't coming up. User is not a problem either as I am the only user on this system. There is only ONE file in my trash at the moment at that is this dmg file. Nothing Mac. Nothing owned by anyone other than Firefox. The problem seems to be that the dmg file and the original 4.0 FF file are working in tandem with each other--even though I have already drug the new 8.0 globe into the Apps folder and it updated the FF app with the new stuff. If I could force the dmg file to go away, I would do so, but at every turn the system is telling me it can't be done because it seems to think that dmg file is in use---even though everything is shut down and/or ejected. Hey--I'm getting ready to head out and won't be back till evening. I'll check back in this evening. Thank you again for your help.

The front-facing camera is available for use even without FaceTime. If you are having issues with your front-facing camera, I suggest troubleshooting the issue:

Is your airport a Time Capsule.. if so it is able to serve files on the network.
The number is the MAC address of the network in the router.
Please reset the apple router whatever is and redo the setup.. this time give it a simple name.. eg TCgenX where X is the actual gen of the unit and give it a simple wireless name.. TCwifi and a simple password with 8-20 characters mix of upper and lower case and numbers.
Perhaps even better give me a screenshot from the computer of the airport utility showing me the Airport with its MAC address.

I hooked up itune and restore. after finished restores, it said my phone is in recovery mode and needs to be finish before using itune, my screen still show the itunes icon and power plug

Yesterday I opened up the iMac and reinstalled the drive to make sure that it was not an alignment problem.   I still can not eject.   When I try to eject the drive makes noises like it is ejecting but the disk does not come out.
How do I solve this problem?
