ASM file layout report

is there a way to report how ASM layedout is datafile on which disks? I understand that asm strips its datafiles and evenly distributes the file (1mb) to its disks. I would like to have a report on this distribution ratio.
any help would be appreciated.

Well, you can see the distribution of extents between disks in your disk groups. This is according to the Oracle Press ASM book:
You want to look at the X$KFFXP view. As an example, running in the asm instance:
sql> select count(PXN_KFFXP), group_kffxp, disk_kffxp from X$KFFXP
where group_kffxp=4
group by group_kffxp, disk_kffxp
so this is shows how many extents each disk (disk_kffxp) has been allocated in the diskgroup which in this example is group number 4. This will show up any inabalances that may have occurred between disks in the disk group.

make sure SOURCE FILENAME is valid in your LINK FILE pointing to the image.bmp
Report compiles nicely even with wrong source filename, only when opening layout editor an error message will appear.

File Layout add column

Dear SDN,
EP6.0 SP11
I am in the process of KM implementaion and adding one column version to view the file.
Name size rating annecdote modified versioned
when I look in file context details and able to see the file version. it shows current, 1,...
now I want to display current value say 2 or 3 in file layout screen. I have added one column using presentaion but value is not appearing.
Is there any setting is required to get the value?

Hi,
I gone through your requirement for the report. In the report selection screen -- Settings -- Input "Sort Variant " as 0010 .....(Co. code / asset class / location) this is SAP Standard delivery.
This adds the column "location" as required. ..... so, there is not requirement here for additional ABAP coding.

Problem with Apex layout report XSL-FO build by bi-publisher word plug-in

Hi all...
this is what I should do:
- generate a layout with bi-publisher word plug-in ---> it's ok
- export this layout in xsl-fo stylesheet --> it's ok.
- create an apex layout report with xsl-fo stylesheet --> it's ok.
- create an apex query report with the above layout
At this point when I test the report I have a corrupted pdf file....
can you help me!!!

2008 1099 forms and file layout

Has anyone heard anything from SAP on new file layout and forms for 2008 1099 reporting? Note 1249174 states it is available 1st week in Dec.

I attempted to implement the note via SNOTE. I get the message 'cannot be implemented' probably because the attachment is a zipped file and not an R/3 object of some sort. I then downloaded the zip file to my desktop. The zip file contains two .p6b files. What txn do you use to import the files? SMARTFORMS?

how to create the ATR files for reports in OBIEE 11g with out manually?
is there any other method to create the ATR files by using the OBIEE Server?
please provide me the solution for this?
we are creating manually for each and every report, it is time taken process how can we generate ATR files automatically
by using the OBIEE Server?

I am afraid not.ATR are attributes files contains the object's full name, access controllist (ACL), description, and so on.Each catalog object has a corresponding attributes file, I am not sure why do you have to generate the atr files.In case you need info about atr files: http://businessdecisionsystems.com/blog/?p=7
If you have huge number of similar reports(with filter variations and same kind of layout), try to play around with the xml to minimize the development effort.

SAP B1 was not able to import layout/report.

What could be the possible reason why the layout/reports cannot import successfuly in report and layout import wizard?
I tried to import new layout/report (crystal report) using report and layout import wizard but after the procedure has been done, the layout/report was not imported successfuly. There's no problem if I will overwrite the existing report but when it comes to new report, this problem exist.

What connection you are using in the CR. Is that ODBC or OLEDB.
OLEDB connection would be preferable.
Can you paste your query what you have used in the CR.
Do you able to browse and choose the CR file in the Report and Layout manager.
Did the file is in your local system.
Please in which step you are not able to import the file, what is the error it showing on the screen

Problem writing to excel file using report generation toolkit

hello everyone, i have this report generation toolkit... and i want to output DAQmx Analog I/P data on to an excel sheet. the DAQmx is programmed to collect
data at 3samples/sec. however, when i see the excel file that Report Generation Toolkit generates, the time stamp is updated every second instead of every 0.33sec.
can anyone please help me? i am using the MS Office Report Express VI.

@All, I got rid of the express VI, decided to work on the custom low level VIs instead. however, i have a new problem now...
I have a case statement wherein, the user selects if he wants to start generating a report. once the program enters tat loop, the program speed reduces!
can anyone please tell me why is it happening? i ahve attached the vi... also another question.. in this VI, i am capturing the unwanted data into the graph as I am indexin the graph input. how can i make a logic
that the graph captures the data only when I am switching the CREATE REPORT button (which is in the while loop). is there a way that I can append the data to the graph without creating a new graph every iteration? please let me know

Report Builder 1.0 .RDL Files on Report Builder 3.0

My group has developed a lot of .rdl files using Report Builder 1.0 over the years and we're finally upgrading to Report Builder 3.0 with SQL Server 2014. Will our old .rdl files still work on the new version?

Help needed creating export file from a file layout with Application Engine

The following is what I would like to do:
- Read a record from a PS view
- Manipulate the data as needed
- Write the fields out to a file as defined by a File Layout
- Repeat until no more records are found
I have created the PeopleSoft Application Engine action listed below. It receives an error "BCUNIT is not a property of class File".

There are probably a lot of things wrong with this approach and if you could provide some guidance and/or corrections to the above logic I would greatly appreciate it.

After doing a bunch of reading on Application Engine maybe my approach is incorrect. Perhaps I should be doing something like the following:
- Read a record from a PS view
- Populate a temporary table manipulating data as it is inserted (Temp table is named according to the file layout fields?)
- Fetch the records from the temp table and write the record to the file layout.
- Repeat until no more records are found
Is this approach better and designed correctly? If not, could you recommend how it should be done? Would the population and reading of the Temp table be done in separate actions or within the same action? Do you know of an Application Engine program that can be used as an example with "like" processing?
As you can probably tell I haven't used Application Engine before and my goal is to start out on the right path. Thank you for any direction and input that you can provide.

I did and my initial logic was based upon them. I don't see where it shows how to manipulate the data before writing it to the file layout fields. Maybe you can send me a link to that section?
I was hoping that I would be able to reference the file layout fields directly to allow for manipulating the field values. Re-reading the file layout section and the application engine PeopleBooks I believe I need to create a temporary record which matches the file layout fields; i.e., the second alternative that I listed. Then, make my updates to the temp record fields as I load them. Then, load them to the file layout as a row.
I'm not sure how this would break down in Application Engine; would the insert into the temp table and the writerecord be different steps/actions, etc.

Apex 4.0 Paper Layout Reports

Hi All,
I'm exploring Oracle Apex for the first time. I have just downloaded Apex 4.0 and would like to see if I can create a paper layout report. For example I would like to produce a Profit & Loss statement as well as a Balance Sheet from my existing database tables.
I have done something similar in Oracle Reports 6i some years ago.
In Apex I have managed to create an interactive report as well as a SQL report. However, these don't look anything like a plain A4 report. I'm guessing this is possible with Apex ?
Do I need to change the default theme for the page I have created ?
Any hints will be much appreciated.

I have had a quick look on the net about your proposed solution to use cocoon. Although, it seems as though this may work it appears to be quite a tedious way to go from a user point of view.
As for BI Publisher, it's quite expensice the last time I looked.
I would have thought Oracle Apex could do something so basic out of the box. Maybe not !

Create two RKF's one for Normal Invoices and another for canceled invoices, for doing this you should have some characteristics or some status value which will identify the normal and canceled invoice.
In the Normal Invoice RKF simply restrict the key figure with status restriction as Normal and pull the invoice amount as key figure. And in case of Canceled key figure you will set the status restriction as "canceled" and pull the invoice amount, now for canceled invoice key figure to show the negative value do the following,
Go to RKF properties of canceled invoice and mark the check box +/- Reverse sign, which will show the negative amount.

You can create a linked server in SSMS, then create a procedure to join three sheets. Then you can call the procedure in a dataset.

File Manager Reported and Error

I am trying to save a file and I keep getting a message :While attempting to access "-TemporarySaveFile-" the File Manager reported an error.
How can I save the file...or do I have to restart the computer and lose everything?

What program? I don't think I've ever seen the term "File Manager" used wrt Mac OS except in comparing Finder to other OS or third-party file managers.

How to asmcmd cp non ASM files to ASM on a remote node

We have a 8TB database, RDBMS 11,1. on Solaris 10, non ASM. Need to copy the 1290 files to remote node of AIX ASM to prepare for a upgrading to 11.2.0.2.
We tried to use asmcmd cp to copy the files directly from non ASM too ASM remotely, but did not work.

We were using the user fttr. Do we need to login as SYSASM, do we need to go through OS auth, any other privilege required. What instance do we need to login, regular database that is using the data files, or ASM instance is goin g to manage the files.
