Asp:button

Does anyone have a hello world for using an asp:button in a 10.3 portlet?
I have tried a few and can get the code to run on the page load, but not when the button is clicked.
I have tried with and with out gateway, and inline refresh with the same results.
Do you have to use .net accelerator? Our portal servers are all linux, but some remote portlets are .net.
Thanks.

I don't know if this issue addressed by the oracle but it used to be an issue with the button control I suggest you to use linkButton in any case you need to add this part in the web.config

</httpModules>
and you need to install the DotNetaccelerator.
Thanks

  • Spry Validation Checkbox with an ASP button

    Is there any way to get the Spry Validation Check box
    JavaScript to fire when a asp button is clicked. I noticed that is
    was originally written for an HTML submit type. If my question
    seems juvenile I apologize but my brain is racked with other issues
    concerning the web page I am developing. Thanks in advance

    Do yourself a big favor and don't waste time with Spry Validation.  Most modern browsers support HTML5 forms with the required attribute.
    If you must placate older browsers, use jQuery validate script.  It's lightweight and works when HTML5 support is missing.  You can see an example below. If you hit submit with empty form fields, the required fields pop-up with messages.  View source in browser to see the code.

  • Problem with asp:Button in PTWC 2.1 - onclick not rendering on second button

    I have a user control with two asp buttons in one TD tag (they both have ptrender=true on them). In the portal only the first button fires its event. The second button does not. I did a partial view source on the two buttons and I see this (button 1 in blue, button 2 in red):
    <TR><TD colSpan=3></TD></TR><TR><TD align=right colSpan=5><INPUT id=_ctl0_cmdSubmit onclick="if(PTWCControl_2_1.inlineSubmit('PTPortletDIV_4645')){__doPostBack_4645('4645','frmAdmin_4645','','', PTWCControl_2_1.extraArgs(this, 'submit', event));return false;}" type=submit value=Submit name=_ctl0:cmdSubmit ptrender="true"><INPUT id=_ctl0_cmdSubmitAddRewards type=submit value="Submit & Add Rewards" name=_ctl0:cmdSubmitAddRewards ptrender="true"></TD></TR>
    So for some reason the onclick event is only being added to the first button. The interesting thing is, if I drop a second TD tag around the second button, they both work fine. This issue just showed up recently. I'm fairly sure that multiple buttons has worked in lots of other cases. Has anyone see this problem before? Any ideas?

    The buttons are on the same line. I would like to upgrade to 2.2 and I'm sure that we will at some point, but it won't happen without some time dedicated to testing. I'd like to get this figured out with version 2.1. The strange part is that it just showed up after the portlet was enhanced. I looked at everthing changed and I can't figure out what could have caused it. Anyone have any idea what would cause 2 buttons in one TD tag not to both receive the onclick event?

  • How to execute javascript function then Code Behind in an ASP Button

    Hi Guys,
    I am currently working in a web application. I have a problem with calling a js function and codebehind.
    I have this asp button that when clicked, a javascript function should be called.
    My javascript function is like this:
    function Calculate(){
    // Set Route in google map
    // Store distance, lat/long in an array
    Then, after the Calculate function was executed, it should execute the code behind:
    protected void btn_calculate_onclick(object sender, EventArgs e)
    // Pull data stored in the array created by javascript
    // connect to db
    // store data
    But the javascript function doesn't execute.
    What should i do?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
       javascript function can not executed in server side, you can tranlate javascription fuction to c# function.

  • Asp button hit counter ?

    i need to do a counter
    like a page counter of  how many people visit the site
    but instead
    how many  people click on a specific button ( that takes them to another  page )
    ( and not start from 0 for each person, each click no  matter who it is adds to the total )
    How would you do this?
    THANK YOU!

    Is the page they are taken to accessible by any other links?
    You can create a form that submits to an asp page. The asp page can check some hidden form fields for a correct value to validate (loosly) that the request came from the form. Then, call an update statement to increment a field in your database. This asp page can either be the page they get redirected to, or an intermediate page that then redirects to the final page. It depends on your requirement details.

    **** buleline in popup.JPG picture  is "The report you requested requires further information"

  • An image changing to FLV Video Player in AJAX Update Panel

    Hi,
    I'm trying to design part of a website can seen as video gallery. I have videos related to subcategories; and subcategories that related to categories.
    I was using popups but now want to change it. Simply, firstly there are images and descriptions(in an update panel) of videos on page. After clicking thumbnail, the region includes thumbnail and description wil be changed to FLV video player.
    Outside of updatepanel player is working good. but when i move it into updatepanel; doesn't working in IE. Because JS code (AC_FL_RunContent(.....)) is not working in updatepanel. Tried another script (like alert('hello!');), it's working. I think i have problem with the function named AC_FL_RunContent(...). It's working as i want, if open page with Firefox.
    Looked for this in google. Visited many pages, but never find a solution for this nor source of problem. I hope someone can help me

  • Excel data read from users and upload in to Oracle DB using custom webpart

    Hi Team,
    I need to get the excel date from user using file upload control and read the data from the excel using custom webpart and validate the each rows whether having the values or not and need to upload the data to the oracle database.
    Can you please let me know the best approach to read the data from excel using sharepoint custom webpart.
    Thanks,
    Mylsamy

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to read excel data from the uploaded file and insert the data into Oracle Database.
    The following way for your reference:
    1.Create a Visual Web Part using Visual Studio.
    2. Add an asp.net upload control into the .ascx file.
    <div>
    <asp:FileUpload ID="fileupload" runat="server" />
    <asp:Button ID="btnUpload" runat="server" onclick="btnUpload_Click" Text="Upload" />
    </div>
    3. Add some logic methods into .ascx.cs file.
    protected void btnUpload_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    //read data and insert the data into Oracle database.
    4.We can create a web service for adding data to Oracle database, then consume this web service in the visual web part.

  • Getting Started OAuth2 Client in Browser

    I am trying to create an OAuth Client in a web application, definitely needs to run in browser, need to access information through an OAuth service. Please tell me what kind of object I can create that will open the resource owner's html page and then read
    the token from the <title> element of the response. So far I have been able to open the page in an iframe but then don't get any onchange or other events and can't read any properties of the html through the iframe object.
    This is sample code from my most recent attempt using an iframe in an aspx form. It opens the page properly, allows entry of my credentials, and gets updated by the resource owner. I read lots of examples of using the contentWindow property of the frame
    to access the DOM document which is supposed to do what I want but my frame ("BrowserFrame") is a generic control type and has no contentWindow property, nor can I create any object that has a contentWindow property in this form. The BrowserFrame
    object has innerHTML and innerText properties but both are "". I have also tried various ways in Silverlight (webbrowser object, opening a new browser window) but could not get anything to work in-browser. Sorry I can't remember the exact reasons
    for all the failures but basically it's the same thing, I can browse to the resource owner's page but then cannot read any information from the page to get the token after I put in my username and password.
    To be clear, I have been able to get a lot of information about doing this in an application out-of-browser and got some of these to work, but I can't work out what kind of object I can generate in a browser that will be able to read information from the
    html from the provider's page, in order to retrieve the token. As I haven't even really started this job I don't mind if the solution is Silverlight or an aspx form, although I'm slightly more familiar with Silverlight.
