Assessing Command 'Analyze Source Files' via Command Line when running TestSTand Deployment Utility

Our Software Configuration Manager is running the TestStand Command Line Deployment Build Tool (Ref: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-38947).
        When he builds the application,  the code will not be at the same location it was in development.
If you are Manually running the TestStand Deployment Utility, This is not a problem because everything is relative in the workspace.   Simply go to the Distributed Files Tab (of TestSTand Deployment Utility) and hit the, "Analyze Source Files" button.  This finds the required files and apparently creates an updated hard path to be used during the build (probably in the *.tsd).
PROBLEM:  We auto-run the Command Line Deployment Build Tool (Command Line), and we do not have access to the, 'Analyze Source Files' command.
            As a result, our build consist of many warnings and the output is missing many files (the location of the files have not been updated).
If we could access the 'Analyze Source Files' Command via command line, that would fix the issue.
FYI:  We use an automatic builder called Quick Build as our builder.

Unfortunately it looks like Analyze Source Files does not have a command equivalent for the command line based on this article and attached PDF:
https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-38947
That may be a good post for the TestStand Idea Exchange for consideration in future versions of TestStand.

  • Adobe Reader 11 (XI) won't open file via command line

    Hello,
    I have posted this question to probably inapropriate topic earlier today, so I am repeating it again.
    I installed newest Adobe Reader XI today and when I tried to open certain pdf file via command line, it reported a syntax error. Now, this syntax worked so far on versions 9 and 10  (I checked today with them and it is working), so my question is - where can I find new syntax, if there is any? Googling didn't help. Or what else could wrong?
    In previous versions I was able to open pdf file (on page 5) like this (all was taken from Help file "Open parameters")
    "CompletePathToAdobeReader"/A"page=5""CompletePathToPDF",
    ie
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe"/A"page=5""d:\V2\DataSheet.pdf"
    but now - not that it doesn't open specific page, but it doesn't want to open file at all.
    edit:
    Operating systems running: Windows 7, Windows XP
    Thank you.

    Yes, it reported correctly becuase there is a syntax error in your command. Try spaces between the /A switch and open parameter. Try this:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /A "page=5" "d:\V2\DataSheet.pdf"
    Hope this helps.

  • Analyze Source Files works not properly

    Hello everybody,
    I want to deploy a TS sequence with TS 4.0.
    The sequence includes both CVI and LabView modules.
    The first time I deployed the system (from a TS Workspace file), the "Analyze Source Files" tool identified correctly the VI used by the sequence, and added them to the files to distribute.
    The deployment was successfully generated, and I saved the configuration (.tsd).
    Then I modified my sequence adding a VI which wasn't previously used.
    When I tried to deploy the system again (with the configuration saved previously), I noticed that the "Analyze Source Files" didn't add the new VI. (Remark: I saved the sequence and the workspace before start the deployment tool)
    Is there something wrong in my LabView Options settings? (I didn't modify the default settings).
    Note:
    The VIs mentioned are from an agilent driver library downloaded by NI site.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thank you
    Baloss

    Hi Johann,
    thank you for your suggestions. Sorry for my late answer but I take some sunny week holidays...
    Meanwhile my collegue (working on the same project) has decided to replace the VI agilent driver with the corresponding CVI code.
    Now everything works fine, but of course the TS only call CVI modules.
    About new installation: we worked with the same PC, deinstalling the code with Windows tools ("Control Panel"-> "Add or Remove SW")
    Thank you

  • "Failed to load excel file" an Error Message while running TDS upgrade util

    Dear All,
    "Failed to load excel file" an Error Message while running TDS upgrade utility when clicking on CHECK DATA.
    Please help me out on this!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Not all data can be exported to Excel easily. Especially if the query result is huge or there are special characters in the query results. You may try the most updated version.

  • Best way to save XML results to a file via command line

    I'm trying to set up an easy way that I can save my XML results to a file via the command prompt.
    Here's my current command line statement
    sqlcmd -S server/database -E -i C:\XML.sql -o C:\Test.xml -h -1 -m 1 -y0
    That works about 95% of the way. The problem is it still inserts a couple random line breaks and throws my whole XML off.
    The whole idea of doing this via the command line is because it would be nice to link it to a batch file that runs every so often. Is there a better way to execute a SQL statement and have its contents saved properly to an XML file?

    If I copy and paste the result via SSMS into a file and save it as an XML, I can view it properly in browsers. If I use the code above, I get among other errors:
    This page contains the following errors:
    error on line 2 at column 202: Encoding error
    The XML file gets processed in a 3rd party app. The file that I paste directly works fine, but the file that the script produces generates errors and it won't work.

  • How to specify xml file to populate form fields in the PDF file via command line?

    Hi,
    I would like to specify xml data file to populate my pdf file using command line.
    The form was Reader extended.
    I've tried the following syntax :
    Acrobat.exe /A "zoom=100" "C:\example.pdf"#xml="C:\example.xml" but got an acrobat error: "the file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect".
    Where am I wrong?
    Thanks!

    >If I understand correctly you propose something like this
    Something like, yes.
    >
    >Acrobat.exe /A "zoom=100" "xml=C:\example.xml" ....
    Certainly, neither will work. /A is followed by a single quoted
    string. There must be some separator, but I don't know what it needs
    to be (as I was alluding to in my first reply).
    To see if there is any hope, just try without the zoom= completely. In
    any case you can set the zoom in the document properties.

  • Downloading the file in our PC , when running the job in Background

    Hi,
    We have an enquiry for below requirment.
    Our client runs some jobs in front end , but as the time taken to execute the JOB is more than 15 minutes  , he is getting timeout problem, so we want to run the same program in background.

      We created a test program similar to the requirment, and ran the job in foreground and the file could easily be downloaded to desktop. Then we ran the program in backgound - The job failed with an error message  Codepage could not be determined  - Message no. FES025.

  • Get Generic File I/O Error when running DAQ Reference Design

    I Get a Generic File I/O Error when trying to Save Data to Disk in Data Acquisition Reference Design.lvproj from daq_ref_app_v10.zip in LabVIEW 9, If I configure to simulate one channel, start the acquisition, stop the acquisition and then save the data to disk, I get the generic file I/O and:
    Error 6 occurred at TDMS Open in Data Acquisition Reference Design.lvlib:Logging [TDMS].lvlib:TDMS Data Logging.vi->Data Acquisition Reference Design.lvlib:Main.vi
    Shouldn't this work without error?
    Should NI distribute Reference Desgins that work without errors?
    What is the problem with this application?

    This error usually occurs because of malformed file paths. Put an indicator on the path before the TDMS Open so you can see the path explicitely. Make sure you have full permissions for the directory in which you will be saving and make sure that the path isn't greater than 255 characters.

  • Changing the override file via command line arguments

    Is there a way to change name of the file Coherence uses to override coherence-config.xml via a command line argument? I'd like to specify different override filenames in different environments.

    I get the message that:
    2006-02-13 16:53:27.699 Tangosol Coherence 3.0.1/317 <D5> (thread=main, member=n/a): Optional configuration file "/home/noah/tools/tangosol-config/tangosol-coherence-override-dev.xml" is not specified
    I specified the following as the startup:
    java -Dtangosol.coherence.override=/home/noah/tools/tangosol-config/tangosol-coherence-override-dev.xml -Dtangosol.coherence.log.level=5 -classpath /home/ncohen/tools/tangosol-config:/home/noah/tools/tangosol/lib/coherence.jar com.tangosol.net.CacheFactory
    Where the tangosol-config directory contains my override file tangosol-coherence-override-dev.xml
    If I change the name of the override file solely in the cmd prompt, it doesn't find any of them. It just gives me the optional configuration file ..... is not specified. How does one go about fixing this? Thx.

  • Find unowned files via command line?

    I'm interested in making a list of files not owned by any package and sending it to a text file I can review. I found this thread, which suggests pacpal (link appears to be broken now) and this script. I could try the script, but I noted from a bit back that the Arch news page listed a one-liner for finding unowned packages in the preparation of moving /usr/lib -> /lib:
    $ find /bin /sbin /usr/sbin -exec pacman -Qo -- {} + >/dev/null
    Here's the script linked to above, for reference:
    #!/bin/bash
    # Utility to generate a list of all files that are not part of a package
    # Author: Spider.007 / Sjon
    TMPDIR=`mktemp -d`
    FILTER=$(sed '1,/^## FILTER/d' $0 | tr '\n' '|')
    FILTER=${FILTER%|}
    cd $TMPDIR
    find /bin /boot /etc /lib /opt /sbin /usr /var | sort -u > full
    pacman -Ql | tee owned_full | cut -d' ' -f2- | sed 's/\/$//' | sort -u > owned
    grep -Ev "^($FILTER)" owned > owned- && mv owned- owned
    echo -e '\033[1mOwned, but not found:\033[0m'
    comm -13 full owned | while read entry
    do
    echo [`grep --max-count=1 $entry owned_full|cut -d' ' -f1`] $entry
    done | sort
    grep -Ev "^($FILTER)" full > full- && mv full- full
    echo -e '\n\033[1mFound, but not owned:\033[0m'
    comm -23 full owned
    rm $TMPDIR/{full,owned,owned_full} && rmdir $TMPDIR
    exit $?
    ## FILTERED FILES / PATHS ##
    /boot/grub
    /dev
    /etc/X11/xdm/authdir
    /home
    /media
    /mnt
    /proc
    /root
    /srv
    /sys
    /tmp
    /var/abs
    /var/cache
    /var/games
    /var/log
    /var/lib/pacman
    /var/lib/mysql
    /var/run
    /var/tmp
    Is there any reason to use a script like the above compared to such a simple script, which appears to just be spitting a list of all files in /bin, /urs/sbin, and /sbin into `pacman -Qo`. What I can't figure out is what the end of the command does (the `-- {} + > /dev/null`). From various attempts to pipe that output into a text file, I've noticed that it just gets filled with the owned files... so I'm guessing something in there is filtering so that unowned get printed to stdout and owned go to /dev/null. I can't figure out how to redirect the unowned to a text file.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    alphaniner wrote:"--" is often used to tell the program there are no more options. I didn't see it in the manpage, but that's the case with pacman as well.* The "{} +" is part of the find -exec argument, search for {} in the find manpage.
    Ah. Thanks for that. I'd been googling things like " linux command line '-- {}'" and not getting any hits. I combined the arguments incorrectly! Thanks for letting me know that this was part of `find`, as I was also looking in the man page for pacman wrongly.
    alphaniner wrote:
    The >/dev/null is redirecting stdout (list of owned files) to oblivion. The list of unowned files (and other errors) goes to stderr. To redirect stderr you use "2>" so try
    find /bin /sbin /usr/sbin -exec pacman -Qo -- {} + >/dev/null 2>unowned_files
    Perfect, and now I understand how `pacman -Qo` is working: it sends the answer to stdout if it knows the answer and to stderr if it doesn't find a hit. Thanks!

  • CS4 js error on file save -- but only when run via droplet

    I have a js script that I've been using fine in PS CS. I've now upgraded to CS4 and trying to get it working. After a couple of minor tweaks, the script works fine when invoked directly from within CS4 (in an action step). But when I create a droplet from that action, the same script gives an error when it comes to saving the image to a jpeg file.
    The relevant code is here:
    jpgSaveOptions = new JPEGSaveOptions();
    jpgSaveOptions.embedColorProfile = false;
    jpgSaveOptions.formatOptions = FormatOptions.STANDARDBASELINE;
    jpgSaveOptions.quality = 12;
    jpgSaveOptions.matte = MatteType.NONE;
    var jpgFile = new File(outputFolderName + "/" + fullFileName + ".jpg");
    alert("Saving as " + outputFolderName + "/" + fullFileName + ".jpg");
    exists = jpgFile.open("r");
    alert("Opened");
    docRef.saveAs(jpgFile, jpgSaveOptions, false, Extension.LOWERCASE);
    alert("Saved");
    When invoked via the droplet, it gets as far as displaying "Opened", then it conks out with error:
    "EvalError: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop. - Could not save as "" because the file could not be found."
    Thing is, I'm not trying to save as "" -- the filename is properly populated with a proper filename, and indeed this script works fine when invoked directly and not through a droplet.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    docRef is defined quite a while back:
    // create the new document (without EXIF) to work on, with same size, resolution etc as original.
    var docRef = app.documents.add(x, y, r, originalDocName + " copy", m, DocumentFill.TRANSPARENT);
    but I do lots of things with docRef in the meantime that don't cause any error... like:
    docRef.bitsPerChannel = b
    // turn off colour management in the new document
    docRef.colorProfileType = ColorProfile.NONE;
    // paste in the original image
    docRef.paste();
    // Assign original colour profile now
    docRef.colorProfileName = originalColourProfile;
    and loads more stuff.

  • How to avoid output file and error lines when condition does not match

    Hi Experts
    A customer want to send purchase order files to several vendors and each vendor has their own requirement to content and file format. I have prepared scenarios for each vendor and a template is (conditionally) called when CardCode matches. It works fine, - PO file is generated when CardCode matches, but error lines are written to SAP B1 Control Center each time CardCode does not match the one defined in a scenario (100 or more times per day). Problem is that these error lines does not get automatic deleted. Conditional processing are made in this way:

    I tried to avoid an error line in SAP B1 Control Center when CardCode does not match in this way:
    Then no error lines are written to SAP B1 Control Center, but an output file is generated each time (order file when CardCode matches and an empty file when CardCode does not match).
    Any suggestions on how to avoid both errors types (error lines in SAP B1 Control Center and empty output files)?
    Or - can lines in SAP B1 Control Center be automatic deleted?

    Hi Steen,
    using <b1im_skip> should be the right approach, if you're working with B1 OUTBOUND.
    Following extract form the B1i help describes the usage to skip the outbound processing:
    1.1 Skipping Outbound Processing
    If you do not want to hand over the message to the receiver system, the scenario step can create a special tag that indicates to generic processing in the integration framework to skip the message processing.
    Add the following to the final transformation atom (atom0):
    <b1im_skip xmlns= ”” info=”my info” msglog=”true” msgout="yes">
    If the integration framework skips the message, it puts the message log information to the Filtered section, if the message log is switched on. The result message contains the Message skipped by vBIU logic information.

    To display an individual message, define it using the info attribute.
    msglog
    If you want to avoid an entry in the message log, introduce the msglog attribute and set it to false.
    msgout
    To display the skip information in the Success section of the message log, use the msgout attribute and set it to yes.
    In case you don't want any MsgLogEntry in case of a skipped message, please enter the following in final atom0:
